Kalyx triaD 05-08-2013 06:36 PM

Yeah that's pretty damn close.

Rammsteinmad 05-09-2013 07:04 AM

So Gwen likes wearing awful green coats and purple dresses. What's the big deal? She has bad sense of fasion.

DaveBrawl 05-09-2013 09:19 AM

That's why she gets killed. The Goblin is the avenging angel of fashion. Ironically draped in green and purple.

slik 05-09-2013 12:37 PM

Disney has announced it's first animated Marvel film, Big Hero 6, coming to theatres in November 2014.

http://www.deadline.com/2013/05/disn...6-movie-marvel

Kalyx triaD 05-09-2013 02:30 PM

Nice Disney, this makes so much more sense than POWER PACK.

Lock Jaw 05-09-2013 02:39 PM

It does, actually. Kids love Japanese stuff these days.

Nark Order 05-09-2013 03:13 PM

I got the Marvel subscription again. I need some series to read. Recommendations welcomed.

Innovator 05-09-2013 03:51 PM

Kinda want to pick up Superior Spider-man

Lock Jaw 05-09-2013 04:18 PM

Still catching up on Marvel. Just finished reading The Gauntlet and Grim Hunt stories in Amazing Spider-Man, which is from years ago already. 2010. Good stuff, though.

VSG 05-09-2013 04:36 PM

I am considering getting a Marvel Unlimited subscription, I never was a Marvel comics guy and wanted to know if their digital library has everything from the beginning (origin stories and so forth). Also, is the yearly thing worth it (as in- is there enough good content for an year) or should I just go month-to-month?

It's pretty astounding how much content is on there, tbh. And they add stuff every week.

Miotch 05-09-2013 07:12 PM

What's the cost of that shiz?

VSG 05-09-2013 07:20 PM

10 bucks/month or 60/year

Juan 05-09-2013 07:38 PM

What is this I hear about a S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series on ABC?

Kalyx triaD 05-09-2013 07:42 PM

Very likely to go past the pilot episode for a full season.

Juan 05-09-2013 08:11 PM

Nice

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is slated to take place in Marvel Cinematic Universe continuity, and given the high-profile of the Marvel Studios films it was heavily expected to get a series order. The pilot, filmed earlier this year, was directed by The Avengers' Joss Whedon, and co-written by Whedon and his frequent collaborators Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen. The show stars Clark Gregg, reprising his role as Agent Phil Coulson; plus Ming-Na Wen, Brett Dalton, Chloe Benne, Iain De Caestecker, Elizabeth Henstridge and J. August Richards, reuniting with Whedon after his 2000-2004 stint on Angel.

Kalyx triaD 05-09-2013 08:35 PM

When it starts runnin by this Fall, it may have a good two seasons before Avengers 2.

Also SHIELD got the go ahead from ABC (like that was a worry), and all news, discussion, and media will go in its new thread.

Fignuts 05-12-2013 06:09 AM

Don't know how I feel about Thanos Rising so far.

McLegend 05-16-2013 10:11 PM

Rumors are that Jeremy Renner is out of Avengers 2.

Fignuts 05-16-2013 11:23 PM

Would kinda suck, but then again Renner was never the best choice for Hawkeye, imo.

Skippord 05-16-2013 11:40 PM

I like him a lot as Hawkeye

would be bummed unless they cast someone I like more I guess

Skippord 05-16-2013 11:40 PM

#TimothyOlyphant

Lock Jaw 05-17-2013 12:08 AM

Hawkeye could just not be in the movie at all

Kalyx triaD 05-17-2013 12:10 AM

I was deeply afraid of the success of Avengers leading to strained deals after the fact. Recasts and write outs are a-comin. :(

Shadow 05-17-2013 01:03 AM

I'll wait for RDJ to get the deals settled and official news to come out.

Kalyx triaD 05-17-2013 03:13 AM

Yeah hopefully he'll hold the cast together, specially since Joss has a draft that promised all returning. Then again, better now when rewrites wouldn't stall the show.

Blitz 05-17-2013 03:39 AM

Whole cast should've just signed a favoured nations deal in the first place.

Corporate CockSnogger 05-17-2013 05:41 AM

Hate re-casts. What's the latest on Hemsworth and Johannsson? Are they just holding out for more money and likely to get signed on for it?

ehh

Fignuts 05-17-2013 03:01 PM

Yeah, I dunno.

Not a great fit for the character.

If Ving Rhames was younger I'd say he was the perfect choice.

Shadow 05-17-2013 03:10 PM

Ving Rhames would definitely fit Luke Cage 10 years ago. Now...Rock's gonna be the best you'll get.

Kalyx triaD 05-17-2013 03:14 PM

Terry Crews, people.

DaveBrawl 05-17-2013 03:27 PM

Well if the Rock is Cage, then can we get Mark Wahlberg as Iron Fist to continue the Pain & Gain hijinks?

Kalyx triaD 05-17-2013 03:33 PM

Mark seems like a Taskmaster guy.

Fignuts 05-17-2013 03:51 PM

Terry Crews would be a good fit, yeah. Better than the Rock, at least.

Lock Jaw 05-17-2013 03:55 PM

Rock is not confirmed for anything. Just Feige saying he would like The Rock as part of the MCU in some way.

Yes, but the first post about it referenced Rock possibly being Luke Cage...so we talked about Luke Cage.

If they suddenly make some characters black for no reason, how bout they make Luke Cage white and be done with it.

Nicholas Cage as Luke Cage, making his stage name selection come full circle. :shifty:

"I see no reason why Tony Stark can't be as evergreen as James Bond. Or Batman for that matter. Or Spider-Man. I think Iron Man is a character just like that."

- kevin feige

so rdj may not have the sway he'd hoped re everyone else's salaries :-\

McLegend 05-21-2013 05:50 PM

I love RDJ, but asking for 100 million just for Avengers 2 & 3 is a bit ridiclious. For the kind of money you got to at least do 1 solo movie.

Kalyx triaD 05-21-2013 06:05 PM

I never imagined him for part three and I doubt Joss and Marvel are considering the big finale of the MCU, they're knee deep in Phase 2 right now.

I need a link to see if RJJ is asking for that much, seems kinda wild even for him.

McLegend 05-21-2013 06:37 PM

http://http://www.flickeringmyth.com/2013/05/robert-downey-jr-100-million-dollar-man.html

Robert Downey Jr is the only one you can make a case for 100 million, but still that's a lot for 2 movies a few cameos.

I would pay him, but it's not my money so I don't care.

Miotch 05-21-2013 08:10 PM

The worldwide gross as of yesterday for Iron Man 3 is:

<table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tbody><tr><td width="40%">Worldwide:</td> <td align="right" width="35%"> $1,077,068,034</td> <td width="25%"> </td></tr></tbody></table>
Yeah, I'd probably pay him.

Kalyx triaD 05-21-2013 08:21 PM

Seems he's also lobbying for his cast mates after all, so yeah I'd drop dollar.

Ball's in Marvel/Disney's hands. They may see Howard and Norton go, but the guy who made their MCU? Should be interesting.

Skippord 05-21-2013 08:38 PM

Robert Downey Jr. wants to literally become Iron Man

Kalyx triaD 05-21-2013 08:43 PM

Well actually.... He is Iron Man.

Sure he wouldn't mind an actual suit, though.

Guys... Quicksilver is in Days of Future Past. He's already been cast (Evan Peters). Pietro's already more or less confirmed by Joss to be in Avengers 2, in drafting phase.

This should be very interesting.

In fact, if either of them could get the other to back off, they would," HitFix reports. "The thing is, Bryan Singer has designed a sequence [for DOFP] that he feels only works with Quicksilver, and Joss Whedon feels that there is a pressing reason for Quicksilver to show up in The Avengers 2, and so what we're going to see is a legally-negotiated stand-off in which we'll get two totally different versions of one character."

The report goes on to say that while Quicksilver's role in DOFP will likely be closer to a cameo than anything else, with just one major scene, his role in Avengers 2 and the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a whole will be much larger, with much bigger plans. They reaffirm, as we reported, that no mention of the character's other-worldly existence can be made in either film; without a mutant origin, that means if an origin for Pietro and Wanda's powers is given, it will have to be independent of the mutant gene.

Kalyx triaD 05-24-2013 03:04 AM

They are dropping a monumental opportunity here.

Kalyx triaD 05-29-2013 09:56 PM

Well.... Glenn Close has just been cast as leader of the Nova Corps for Guardians.

Didn't see that coming.

slik 05-29-2013 11:41 PM

Guardians of the Galaxy is shaping up incredibly well.

Fignuts 05-30-2013 12:36 AM

That's awesome.

Shadow 05-30-2013 12:49 AM

Wait Glenn Close?

Huh...that's an interesting choice making the leader of the Nova Corps female and old.

Kalyx triaD 05-30-2013 12:53 AM

Whatever brings us closer to Richard on screen. Grown on him from my UMvC3 experience.

Fignuts 05-30-2013 01:02 AM

Nova has been awesome from Annihilation onward. Although now they got some kid as nova in a really dopey looking costume? Hope they go with Richard Rider and his badass armored costume.

I happen to like the kid, though.

I love Richard Rider's costume. Especially when drawn by Adi Granov.

Benicio Del Toro was cast for Guardians of The Galaxy.

It's reportedly a mutli- picture deal for Marvel. No one is sure who is he playing. Now of course everyone is thinking Thanos, but who knows?

Kalyx triaD 06-03-2013 05:53 PM

That cast is fucking nuts.

Kalyx triaD 06-05-2013 05:36 AM

You guys see the launch trailer for Marvel Heroes? Holy fuck I would offer the soul of my first born son to see an animated series based on the 2D portion. Seemed like an intro to an awesome Marvel cartoon that doesn't exist. Check it out.

The CGI stuff at the end was alright, reminded me of X-Men Legends/Marvel Ultimate Alliance cutscenes.

Fignuts 06-19-2013 06:13 AM

I'm talking about the epilogue. New character.

As for the story itself, it was an incredibly cliched, formulaic time travel story. Seriously could not have been more "by the numbers".

That said it was still pretty fun for what it was. More so than Fear Itself, at least.
