El Vaquero de Infierno 12-16-2020 01:45 PM

I just finished the main story of Ghost Recon: Wildlands.

By the end I was just looking to finish the main story rather than take down all the leaders and do all the various submissions, etc.

I need to decide what to play next; I'm going to leave Cyberpunk 2077 until it is less buggy. I've still yet to play Kingdom Come: Deliverance, even though I bought it a while ago, so I might start that.

Eklipse 12-16-2020 09:57 PM

Been playing the Unreal Tournament beta the past couple days. I like it.
On weekends I have my kids, I pretty much just play Fortnite with them.
And World of Warcraft.

El Vaquero de Infierno 12-19-2020 11:52 AM

I just got mauled to death by a bear on The Long Dark; I was on day 7 in survival mode. I forgot to load my rifle, and paid the price.

RP 12-22-2020 07:23 PM

Has anyone played Resistance 3? It's literally one of the funnest games i've played for a bit.

Sepholio 12-22-2020 09:09 PM

Godfall. Said I was gonna wait for the discount bin but I got it 25 bucks off so meh, snagged it. Very pretty. But you can tell they focused on making this a tech showpeice. Fast loads, super detailed textures and lighting effects, character models with more polygons than you've ever seen. But it's shallow and repetitive. Dont get me wrong, the gameplay is actually rather good once you acclimate to how to stay focused on enemies without getting turned around or off target. Gotta lot of different systems running and different ways to kill enemies that make it engaging. But the core loop is run through this area, look around and loot stuff if you want, do objective, back to base. And theres 2 ppl at your base and they are the only people you interact with ever. The story is almost nonexistent. And while the areas are pretty you can only run around the same confusing level doing different missions but killing the same enemies and picking up the same treasures so many times, especially when you consider there is no map. I imagine I am somewhere around half way through the game at this point and honestly it would be great if they would give me a better reason for doing what I'm doing in game and add a couple more environments or something. And a map. As it is its just so so.

Sepholio 12-22-2020 09:12 PM

Another thing is if they just decide what they want this game to be and go with it. What I mean is that this game is ALMOST dark souls. It's just not quite hard enough and there is no penalty for death. But it's close to being there, real close. They either need to decide if this is a typical looter and maybe make it a smidge easier and increase enemy density or they need to increase the difficulty just a little and give it a death penalty and go forth as a soulsborne game. It's just stuck between two competing identities right now.

El Vaquero de Infierno 12-23-2020 06:00 AM

I forgot that I have Kingdom Come: Deliverance, which I've never played, so instead of buying a new game for Xmas I will install that bad boy instead.

M-A-G 12-23-2020 02:39 PM

They added Donkey Kong Country 3 to the Switch's SNES library. I don't remember enjoying it as much as the first two but maybe all these years will add some perspective.

Helmsphere 12-23-2020 06:10 PM

Decided to start playing Ace Combat 7 last week. Just finished it. I hate how Ace Combat loves there flying into tunnels gimmick.

RP 12-24-2020 05:19 PM

I found Star Wars : The Force Unleashed on PS3 at Goodwill for 2 bucks. I've never played it. It looks good.

I enjoyed it. Theres one scene in particular that will always be one of my favorites from any game ever.

RP 12-25-2020 01:22 AM

i picked up Tomb Raider for 2 bucks too. I have about 50 or so PS3 games now. I'm pretty fond of my collection.

immensely hyped

Spoiled it for him you have.

Xbox One : Elex
Switch : Final Fantasy 12
PC : Diabotical/COD WWII multiplayer.

Sepholio 12-28-2020 10:51 PM

I had a lot of fun with Elex.

Jordan 12-31-2020 09:45 AM

On Xbox One...

I've been playing UFC 4 nonstop. I really wish they'd update career mode with more features and depth. Still hoping.

I recently beat Jedi Order and loved it.

RP 12-31-2020 08:03 PM

I'm halfway through Resistance 3 and I love it so far. But i'm gonna take a break and play Dead Rising 2 tonight cause i want some mindess zombie bashing fun.

Sepholio 12-31-2020 08:07 PM

Moving on to Immortals Fenyx rising. GOTY just because it has allowed me to play as Finn from adventure time and I have jake as my pet and lady as my mount and that is just absolutely fantastic.

That game looks so good. I want that.

Sepholio 01-01-2021 12:49 AM

Its basically Assassins Creed: Hyrule with lighthearted banter/comedy narration.

ClockShot 01-01-2021 04:14 PM

100%/platinumed Assassins' Creed: Valhalla

The more I played, the more I hated it. Just when I thought Odyssey put the series back on track, Valhalla takes it off the rails again. Definitely goes in the lower tier of all time A.C. games.

Probably going to step away from it until they either do the Japan setting with ninjas and samurai we're all dreaming of or the final game of the series. Now I just want it to end.

Installing Cyberpunk tonight.

Curtis 01-01-2021 06:04 PM

They need to make an Assassin's Creed game set in prehistoric times.
No, not cavemen.
Nope, not dinosaurs.
The primordial soup era. You could play as a chunk of DNA trying to get away from rogue proteins to form the first ever genome. Would be pretty dope.

RP 01-01-2021 06:19 PM

I agree. I've never played an Assassin's Creed game but dont it involve some time travel? I might have to pick the first few up.

GD 01-01-2021 07:34 PM

So I'm abandoning Assassin's Creed: Valhalla since I've ran into a considerable amount of bugs over the past couple of days. I haven't given up on a game like this in a while. Looking forward to "Ghost of Tsushima"

Black Widow 01-02-2021 02:20 AM

Yeah. Couldn't get all the treasures in Valhalla they're bugged.

But, you're gonna love Ghost of Tsushima.

GD 01-02-2021 07:27 AM

I really wanted to finish the main storyline but the bugs just killed it for me. Also, this is truly a step down from Odyssey. Hopefully the bugs are sorted out by next year.

What were u playing Valhalla on Dave? I basically 100% it other than a few of the random trophies (couple combat ones and the fishing and dice ones). Only ran into like 3 bugs; random npc animation bugged out for a couple seconds, got launched when climbing in some weird geometry and fell through the map once also climbing in a weird place. Other than that it was smooth af for me.

Really liked the story of Valhalla, especially the stuff close to the end. You guys are really missing out on one of the biggest twists in the series that def leaves an interesting cliff hanger for the next installment.

But...yea the game def took a step back from odyssey and origins IMO. This is the first entry to me that really just didnt fit for me. It could just be called Valhalla with no ties to AC and it would be fine. But yea this one just sidnt feel assassiny to me. Still like it on its own though.

Would Prob make it a bit harder though considering how much this one leans on in your face brutality and how strong you get fairly quickly. I literally beat the strongest enemy in the game (level 400 legendary bear in ine of the areas you go to on the seer quests) when I was level 126 or so. There were a couple other really tough enemies (the highest level witch and a couple zealots who were around Lvl 340) that were harder IMO because of their skillsets but I took them all down by the time I was around level 200. This combat system seemed at first to require more skill than previous games, especially without the insane combo kills you could rack up before, but the timing is way more forgiving and is easy to master. I hardly ever parried, would just perfect dodge and maul people with dual greatswords that speed up the more I attack. All those skills and the leap attack is the only one you really need. I never used another although a couple of them are similarly Op. Blah ranting.

Sepholio 01-03-2021 09:23 PM

For what its worth, Immortals Fenyx rising is also a good game that becomes too easy once you get good at it. If you guys try it I suggest turning up the difficulty. Fun game though. Really like the puzzle design and there are ways to brute force your way around some challenges that require certain skills; you just have to understand the mechanics and think a bit outside the box. Some of them really had me feeling proud when I got around them.

Savio 01-03-2021 09:39 PM

She hasn't killed anyone yet in Undertale. We will see what happens when she fights Toriel

PS4. I carry it with me when I travel internationally. Hasn’t failed me yet. The game is just too buggy. Might plow through it unenthusiastically...

You seem intently interested in whether or not she is eventually going to have a bad time.

My curiosity is piqued.

Picked up Octopath Traveler again after a 2 year hiatus. Just scooped up the Runelord job. Stupidly OP. I love it.

Nark Order 01-25-2021 06:12 PM

Playing Shadow of the Tomb Raider atm. Was never "into" Tomb Raider as a kid but SotTR is fun, complex, and it really sucks you in. Enjoying it alot. About 48% through.

RP 01-28-2021 05:09 PM

Child of Eden is an incredible SHMUP. Maybe the most ambitious SHMUP i've ever played. And have to pause a few times because i'm afraid i'll have a seizure, but man it is fantastic. How did I not know about this game?

OssMan 01-31-2021 12:25 PM

Yeah it's really cool. I think it's an evolution of Rez, which was a lot more popular

ClockShot 01-31-2021 04:13 PM

Still sticking with Cyberpunk 2077.

Crawling through and doing my usual thing. Mopping up districts of missions and side stuff 1 by 1.

It's probably the best looking of the newest entries and knifing people all stealth commando-style never gets old. Rise of the Tomb Raider is probably the best of the three, but slightly, in my opinion.

drave 02-08-2021 10:46 AM

Picked up Valhalla and fucking LOVE it so far. Very much at the beginning of the game, going to meet the sons of Ragnar Loethbrook.

Ivarr is crazy as fuck, just like the historical texts say. The "meta" story so far is strange, but I think I am slowly understanding what is going to happen.... I've heard it's a big "swerve" compared to the other AC games.

Will probably get the DLC for this one.

Also, big bonus coming from work on my next check. May be updating to the XSX which I am VERY excited for :D

joshwoodsrohfandm 02-08-2021 10:56 AM

Civilization Revolution 2 Plus for PS VITA started another campaign with JFK.

I am still looking to get a switch sometime this year but have to wait for pandemic to end before I can consider one. I'm not entirely sure I want one though.

I love the Vita so much; had it since launch.

drave 02-08-2021 11:57 AM

Get a Switch if you are even considering it. Trade your bucket for it.

Srsly though, just got one for Christmas and wish I would have had one sooner.

Finished up Cyberpunk 2077.

Downloaded the Outriders demo. BUT, in order to play it, you need to sign up for Square Enix or you're locked out. And that's a no-go for me. So, I'll hold off and take my chances on launch.

Downloaded Control. Gonna take that for a spin.

Bravely Default 2

drave 03-03-2021 07:44 AM

God damn Xbox Series X is amazing.

Going to restart Cyberpunk because it honestly plays like an entirely new title altogether. AC Valhalla is beautiful as well.

Load times are bonkers. Fast travel in AC takes less than 10 seconds from the moment I initiate to where I can move Eivor again.

Booted up Division 2 for shiggles as well, since they optimized it. From launch to controlling my character was only slightly over 60 seconds, which is a HUGE improvement. I avoided fast travel in that game due to loading times taking longer than just fucking walking.

Shit, even video streaming apps work faster, its nuts.

If any of y'all were considering it and can get your hands on one, it's worth it.

rez 03-05-2021 09:57 PM

The Wii U Mario games are amazing. I only ever played that console a few times at a buddy's. I mean...fuck Nintendo for full price on these ports but whatever.

My all time fav Mario games (that I've played) are pretty equal at #1

Mario 3 (NES)
Mario World (SNES)
Mario Paint (SNES)*
Mario Maker 2 (Switch)*

* Not traditional games

Honorable mentions: Mario 64, Odyssey

Those Cube +Mario games suck

I'm gonna venture into the Luigi Haunted Mansion games soon

Is Paper Mario worth it? I remember liking Yoshi's Island

Helmsphere 03-05-2021 10:34 PM

Ultra Mantis 03-06-2021 09:11 PM

Just finished my first playthrough of Fire Emblem: Three Houses. I picked the Black Eagles because they looked the coolest, and while I dont regret that at all, I have some thoughts.

SPOILER: show
Edelgard is the fucking worst. She is an absolute hypocrite and a narcissist of the highest order and that's why I decided to get her route out of the way first. I did not want to side with her, she turns up being the big bad that was being built up from the prologue and it's not even fun being bad in this game. I hated that the rest of the class were forced into her stupid war and they had to spend part two rationalizing that they were still the good guys even though they were invading struggling Kingdoms and sabotaging peace efforts. Lord Ferdinand deserved better and he wasnt even one of the 20 characters who died a needless death. Petra, Bernie, Dorothea and Lindhardt don't have a bad bone between them. Creepy Akechi Hubert Prompto was a moronic simp. Why does he constantly gloss over that Edelgards group of seemingly non humans are actually responsible for the Crest torture, Jeralt's death, the village massacre, SUMMONING NUKES etc. The church was brutal and weird yes, but Edelgard is pretty much Voldemort. Does she expect me to forget she paid some bandits to kill off Dimitri and Claude while they were on a training exercise with school? Or that she was behind the attacks that got Lonato and his men executed in the first place? Fuck off Edelgard. You're the worst. Stupid piece of shit Flame Emperor ass. Even Rhea doing her best Daenerys at King's Landing impression didn't warm me to the cause. Utter disgrace. Black Eagles will never win the house cup now.

I had not played sleeping dogs for ages; put it in and was glued to the game for a while. Good times.

drave 03-09-2021 10:18 AM

STILL playing AC Valhalla. Game is long as fook, longer than Odyssey, or maybe I'm just doing more side stuff that is making it take longer.

Either way, the game is beautiful on the Series X and load times are nearly non-existent. Unless I am traveling to or from my settlement, it is less than 10 seconds.

Also have UFC 4, but not jumped back in as AC has my attention. Things are getting good and I'm ~ 70-80 hours in

GD 03-09-2021 06:44 PM

Started playing Valhalla again and am surprised by one of the better story arcs. Was not expecting such level of storytelling in an AC game.

GD 03-13-2021 07:27 AM

Completed Valhalla and was relatively satisfied with the ending. Thanks Seph :y:

Looks like I'll be playing WWE 2K19 for a few days before I move on to these options

1. Ghost of Tsushima (might save this for when I return to America and have a difficult first week)
2. Resident Evil 7
3. Red Dead Redemption 2 (Seems like quite an undertaking at the moment...too much happening irl)

ClockShot 03-22-2021 06:15 PM

Damn. What a great game. Almost perfect. If anybody on the Playstation grabbed this when it was free, recommend playing it.

its game play is a point and click visual novel with deep leveling mechanics. there is no combat. least not that you directly control.

you choose what your character interacts with. based on your stats, skills and passives skill checks are performed that determine your available actions and responses and the success chance of both.

the game is expertly written juggling madness and deep dives into sociology and geopolitics. its one of the most unique games ive ever played and being very early in i can already see why it took rpg of th year and that i will be playing multiple times.

do i reccomend it? i dunno. its really out there and not having traditional combat is going to turn a lot of people off.

Started this and put a few hours into it. Having a fun time with it. It definitely sets itself apart from the other looter shooters out there.

I do recommend doing a bit of research before you play. Once you pick your class, you really gotta play as that class or you're not getting far.

drave 04-05-2021 08:54 AM

Yeah, its a fucking blast though. Started 3 of 4 classes, and stuck with the tanky one, can't remember what it's called.

Super fucking strong though. Hold up Deflect bullets for 8 seconds, unleash hell on everything on screen. Think I'm level 15 or something like that, definitely fun.

Will have to see how the "end game loot grind" is though. That's where these types of games are made...

drave 04-05-2021 09:04 AM

REALLY like the aggressive style of the game though. I have to break my "hide behind cover" mentality from The Division 2 that's been ingrained in my head for a couple years. DEFINITELY shines the more aggressive you are. Cannot recall the amount of times I've been on the brink of death just to get a multikill and instaheal back to 100%.

it is vital to know how your class heals, each of them have specific requirements which kinda force-teaches you how to play the class.

Yeah. I was gonna go with the Devastator. Instead I rolled out a Pyromancer and holding my own.

Also like the World Tier settings. Had to turn off auto level or I'd get my ass handed to me. Currently set at 4. Probably kick it up another notch or two once I get some primo gear.

I still have auto-tier on and I'm currently on 6.

Devastator is fucking OP man. I've heard Technomancer is also very good, but I typically like the in-your-face smash style of playing.

Baldur's Gate III.

Game I was waiting for since like 2000 when Baldurs Gate II came out. Was worried that it was going to suck, like what the team did with Pillars of Eternity, but it was handed over to Larian. I did play Divinity Original Sin but couldn't get into the combat.
Now that I finally got a desktop PC that can run it, it is absolutely amazing. Having a blast. Downloaded it and played for 2 hours and thought I was only playing around 40 mins. Deff worthy of the Baldur's Gate name, and its only in early access. Early access is often early ASSess, but, I would recommend anyone of the fence with this one title to pick it up.
Gonna have no energy for my shift tomorrow because Im staying up late playing Vidya like it's High School in 2002.

No rush, its still early access, but if you liked the other Baldur's game games on PC, it will most certainly be an awesome game to play. The only thing I dont like is the change from real time with pause to turn based combat, but I can deal with that.

played em on PC and PS2. Were you a fan of Never Winter Nights, Divinity, Icewind Dale, Swordcoast, etc. etc?

Going to take a break from playing video games. Tried to get into the Resident Evil 2 remake but gave up very quickly.

Yes, played Neverwinter Nights, beat it with all the expansions. Enjoyed Neverwinter Nights 2 as well. Played but never finished Divine Divinity, played the crap out of Icewind Dale 1 back in the days

I had to call the Nintendo hotline to figure out how to beat a level in the forest.
