Sara Del Ray in Ring of Honor. She's a fantastic wrestler.

Triple H having daughters has probably helped too. He wants Aurora-Rose to be able to main event a Mania someday.

I've been listening to the Solomonster Sounds Off podcast lately. I generally agree with a lot of his views. Also gave a few episodes of the Stick to Wrestling podcast a listen. Does anyone else have any wrestling podcasts they like to listen to? I'm looking for some new stuff. Prefer fan podcasts or more analytical things. Don't really like listening to wrestlers interview each other that much. Unless there is a really good one I am forgetting?

SlickyTrickyDamon 10-28-2018 02:26 AM

Stick to Wrestling is 1/2 good. John McAdams sounds great. Sean Goodwins has had some bad audio issues on his end.

It's no Breaking Kayfabe with Bowdren and Barry. (great one)

Are you missing the 605 Superpodcast, THE MOTHERSHIP?

Bad News Gertner 10-28-2018 07:23 AM

John McAdam is one of my favourite people to listen to..

SlickyTrickyDamon, check out his three part Boston Garden series with Kris Zellner's Exile on Badstreet podcast. Really great.

Sean Goodwin makes the podcast borderline unlistenable. He keep shouting into the mic like he has autism or something.

Bad News Gertner 10-28-2018 07:24 AM

Between the Sheets is the best wrestling podcast around. Hands down. This weeks episode is unbelievable.

Bad News Gertner 10-28-2018 07:29 AM

So I passed out at around 10 last night and woke up at 5 30am. Nothing to do, so I decided to watch something from my collection for the first time in a while. Watching the November 26th, 1984 MSG show. Love 1984 so much. Midway through the show. So far the matches have been:

-SD Jones over Charlie Fulton in an alright match

-Moondog Spot over Jose Luis Rivera in a squash

-Bobby the Brian Heenan! over Salvatore Bellomo in a match that sounds way more interesting on paper than it was.

-King Kong Mosca over Mr.Fuji by dq in a match that can only be described as a miracle

-Cowboy Bob Orton over Swede Hanson in a bleh match

Tonga Kid /w/a returning Jimmy Snuka vs Roddy Piper/w/ Cowboy Bob Orton is next.

Bad News Gertner 10-28-2018 07:41 AM

Crowd is INSANE for this match. Tonga Kid (Tama from Islanders) was so bloody over and he's only 18 years old here. Too bad he got a big head and started no showing events. What a waste of talent. Match ends in a double dq when Orton and Snuka get involved. Legit 4 star match. Next month they come back with Snuka and Tonga Kid vs Piper and Orton, which sadly signals the end of Jimmy Snuka being a pushed guy.

XL 10-28-2018 06:03 PM

Thought this was your Raw/SD Review :(

Cool King 10-28-2018 06:05 PM

Not so many images and gifs this week.

Raw:

• Raw is in Oakland, Ca and the first match is Rob Van Dam vs X-Pac and Oakland really seem to hate X-Pac.

Their chant of "X-Pac Sucks" was probably one of the loudest chants of the night. It was pretty loud.

• A shoot promo by Vince now and he's talking about Austin walking out and the crowd is chanting "What!?" after every single thing Vince says. I actually forgot how annoying the "What!?" chants were but the funny thing is that at the time, I don't really remember finding the "What!?" chants annoying.

I also lost count how many times Vince said that Austin helped build the company.

Vince then acts like Steve Austin has died by toasting him and leaving the can in the middle of the ring.

https://i.postimg.cc/xCXVTFb9/z1.png

• Jeff Hardy vs Raven now and this match is happening because of what happened on Heat last week when both men had a match and Jeff got himself disqualified because he choked Raven with a camera cord.

I remember those days when Heat actually mattered and it just wasn't a glorified Raw Recap show that it eventually became.

It was also good to see Raven have a match. I always liked Raven.

• Booker T and Goldust backstage now and Goldust can actually do a pretty decent stereotypical English accent.

Also, we see the boom mic in shot.

https://i.postimg.cc/zf5fv5J8/z2.png

• Chris Nowinski's debut vs Spike Dudley which he won.

• Flair is in the ring cutting a promo and Austin's music plays which makes the crowd go mad. It quickly changed to Eddie's theme which makes the go a different kind of mad.

Eddie says he was scheduled to face Austin at King of The Ring but I didn't know this as it was never actually announced on TV.

Thinking about it now, I actually would have liked to have seen that match.

• Vince is backstage and Chris Nowinski comes into the room to introduce himself. He basically just lists off everything he's done at Harvard. Tony Garea then calls Vince to tell him that "He's on his way" and Vince can only assume that "He" is Austin.

• Trish Stratus & D'Lo Brown vs Crash & Molly Holly was another match taking place because of what happened on Heat last week. Crash challenged D'Lo to a match even though D'Lo was working commentary that night and D'Lo won the impromptu match.

After the replay of what happened on Heat, we had this shot of Trish and Lawler basically said that he would love to get Trish's breasts in his mouth.

https://i.postimg.cc/sx38G6MB/z3.png

During Crash & Molly's entrance, we see a replay of last week on Raw when Molly Holly choked Trish with Trish's own panties. Lalwer does what Lawler does when panties are on screen and JR said to Lalwer that he (Lawler) would love to be in those panties and wear them because "that's the kind of guy he is".

That was not an image anyone wants.

Anyway, D'Lo and Trish won.

• Undertaker vs Matt Hardy was next and during the match Jeff interferes and both Matt and Jeff are attacking Undertaker.

Raven then runs to the ring to save Undertaker from The Hardy Boyz.

That is also a sentence I thought I would never type.

Undertaker & Raven then work together (again, I thought I would never type that) to beat down The Hardys.

• Another "Get The "F" Out" video is played and it was one I don't think I've ever seen. It was about a woman visiting a surgeon.

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/7sRmYZdKCGo" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>

This is the only one of the "Get The "F" Out" videos that I have no memory of, so I can only assume it was edited out of Raw & SmackDown for some strange reason when they were shown over here.

• Brock Lesnar vs Booker T is the main event and the only things worth talking about really are Nash & Michaels on commentary with Michaels coming across as a legitimate douche and also this creative but misspelt Booker T sign.

• Vince is in the ring and calls out Austin but Tony Garea runs out and tells Vince that "He" is not Austin.

Vince then asks who "He" is and The Rock's music hits and the crowd goes wild.

The Rock cuts a promo basically saying that he's back a month early because Austin walked out.

SmackDown:

• Just like Raw last week. This weeks SmackDown is "flipped".

• Kurt Angle kicks the show off with a promo.

https://i.postimg.cc/zf6p1dwm/z4.png

Also, doesn't the smiling guy in the glasses look like TPWW Legend, Xero?

• The first match of the night is Rikishi vs Christian and Rikishi wins but Christian's foot was on the rope and the referee didn't see it and this makes Lance Storm come out to complain to the referee.

A break finishes and Lance Storm is with Christian in the ring and he has a mic. Storm cuts your basic Anti-American promo and this promo is pretty much the beginning of The Un-Americans.

• Triple H is being interviewed and decides to break the fourth wall.

During the interview, he makes more gay jokes about Billy & Chuck.

• Jamie Noble vs Billy Kidman is next and it's a Number One Contenders Match for the Cruiserweight Championship.

Before the match, we found out that Nidia wears Hurricane's mask (which she stole last week) over her own underwear.

Noble won the match and Hurricane attacked him from behind and took his mask back.

• During the Billy/Triple H match, Tazz said the word "ass" but he wasn't censored, however, whenever wrestlers say ass during promos either backstage or on the mic, the word is censored.

• During this exchange, Tazz reminded of Simple Fan:

Michael Cole: What's gonna happen on Raw this Monday night live from Cleveland the night after King of the Ring!?
Tazz: I don't know. I work for SmackDown, that's my concern.

• Backstage, Stacy Keibler brings in Finlay and Big Johnny who look like some kind of office tag team.

https://i.postimg.cc/pXB9jqdD/z5.png

Vince asks them to each bring Undertaker and Kurt Angle to him and later they're all talking and it leads to a fight with Vince getting caught in the middle of Angle and Undertaker.

Finlay and Big Johnny then pull Angle away and out the room.

I actually found the fight a bit funny when Angle gets pulled off Undertaker and Vince is still rolling around on top of Taker, who is trying to get up and you just hear Undertaker say "Vince, get off me!" and then the look on Vince's face as he rolls off of Taker.

In case you miss it in the gif, here is Vince's face:

• I'll leave you now with a random sign from one of the two shows, with it being one from Raw aimed at Brock Lesnar.

https://i.postimg.cc/13CrG9zc/z7.png

Apparently WWE bought a few special emojis on Twitter for tonight's Evolution event. Problem is not only did it give away the main event of the show, it also showed they only care about the main event and nothing else.

#WWEEvolution, #RondaRousey and #NikkiBella got the special treatment while everything else tonight got ignored.

Stone Cold Becky threw a little shade at the WWE because of it afterwards.

While things could change 2-3 months from now, that does add a bit more fuel to the speculation of another All In event being held next year.

WrestlingInc did have an article recently about the future for All In could be known very soon due to the Patent Office wanting some clarity with the Young Bucks trademark for it. Supposedly the wording makes it unclear if the Bucks actually want to keep it beyond the first event since that affects how long the trademark is valid and their legal rights regarding merch sales.

GD 10-29-2018 09:20 PM

We might get Brock Lesnar vs AJ Styles 2 this year at Survivor Series.

Mr. Nerfect 10-29-2018 09:54 PM

I guess there was no point in getting inventive when it came time to putting stuff together for Survivor Series. It's very easy to just throw four champion vs. champion matches at the wall without any care as to who comes out looking like what.

* Brock Lesnar vs. AJ Styles II
* Ronda Rousey vs. Becky Lynch
* Seth Rollins vs. Shinsuke Nakamura (I might actually track that one down)
* Bobby Roode & Chad Gable (random guess) vs. The Bar

Then you'll probably get Team Triple H vs. Team Shane again and maybe that rumored Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels match. Throw in one with SmackDown women against Raw women and you can call it a night off.

I think the Raw champions vs Smackdown champions is a Survivor Series tradition now. So they’re all probably gonna just be announced without build.

Cool King 10-30-2018 04:28 PM

I was really hoping that it would be a unification match and after that, the Women's Champion could appear on both Raw and SmackDown, just like the champion could back in 2002.

I just realized how relevant Dolph Ziggler has become since being traded to RAW and being associated with Drew McIntyre. Maineventing PPVs, pinfall victories over notable names, and championship victories.

I miss this Vince.

Cool King 11-04-2018 06:00 PM

• Seeing the big electric chair set makes me miss distinctive and elaborate PPV sets.

• So coming into the event, the bracket was as follows:

https://i.postimg.cc/X7BsXt6c/zz1.png

• The first match of the night is Chris Jericho vs Rob Van Dam which was a good match and it had some good spots too. This Release German Suplex on RVD was "pretty sick" (as the kids today would say).

I also enjoyed hearing JR actually call the moves. Split Legged Moonsault, Release German Suplex, Spinning Heel Kick, Running Bulldog, he called them all, which was so good to hear and it's actually one way how I (and I'm sure many others) managed to learn the names of moves as a kid.

I don't know how kids these days learn the names of moves as all they get from Cole & Co. is "Oh, what a move that was!". It seems like only finishing moves and sometimes signature moves are called and everything else is just referred to as "a move".

I guess the only way to learn the names of moves these days is by playing WWE games.

• The next match is Test vs Brock Lesnar and during the match, I remembered how much I disliked Nick Patrick back then, as I never liked the way he counted pins as he would always place his hand under the shoulders of whoever was getting pinned and then when he reached the count of two, he would push up their shoulders with his own hand and he did it so blatantly. He didn't even try to hide it.

Example:

Also, I never really liked his voice either. It was really rough and "gravelly" and just didn't sound real at all.

There were just times where he actually ruined some matches for me as he would give away the outcome with his pin counts. If he placed his hand under the shoulders, the match is continuing, if he didn't place his hand under the shoulders, you knew that was going to be a three count. It kinda took the surprise element out of the match.

• After the two matches, the bracket looked like this:

https://i.postimg.cc/mrpdP4kj/zz2.png

• Interview time and JR informs us that Marc Lloyd from SmackDown and The Coach from Raw are outside their respective brands locker rooms, ready to interview the rosters inside but he gets Marc Lloyd's name wrong and calls him Greg (Or Craig) Lloyd.

Coach goes into the Raw locker room to ask the Raw Roster who will win the final. Bubba cuts a promo saying how good Lesnar is, even though just a week or so earlier, he hated the man. That appears to have been forgotten about now.

After, Marc Lloyd is about to go inside the SmackDown locker room but Lance Storm and Christian walk out and complain about the final being an all American final when it should have been an all Canadian final. They then continue to do the usual Anti-American promo and build up to the formation of the Un-Americans.

• Cruiserweight Title Match (AKA Lawler pervs on Nidia)

Vince & Co. must have been big on Jamie Noble at the time as not even a month after his debut, he had a title match at a PPV and won.

The Hurricane makes his entrance and debuts a new mask.

I was actually looking forward to watching this match but Lawer just took all of my attention with the crazy stuff he was coming out with.

Here are eight examples:

1) This one isn't so crazy but during the match Lawler asks JR if he's ever lived in a trailer/mobile home and JR says yes which surprises Lawler who can't get his head around it. Lawler then spends the next two minutes asking JR "Really?" about four times and also asking JR how big it was. You could tell by the tone of JR's voice that he was actually proud of living in a trailer/mobile home and that it was no big deal to him.

2) A "she's a crack whore" chant starts that's directed towards Nidia and during the chant JR says that Nidia looks like that she needs a shower and the chant is short lived but after it, Lawler (of all people) says (sounding legitimately unhappy/disgusted) that he wants "everybody to disregard that unflattering chant" but then right after that he says to JR "I bet you'd like to take that shower with Nidia". JR (sounding actually a bit pissed off) says "Oh stop! She's young enough to be my daughter!" and Lawler says "You say that like it's a bad thing".

3) After seeing Nidia squat down to talk to Noble under the bottom rope, Lawler mentions he likes how Nidia squats and that she has "great balance".

4) Lawler also implies that The Hurricane has a small penis and that's why Nidia left him.

5) JR says "I'd like to focus on the in-ring performance" and the camera then focuses on Nidia to which Lawler says "I'd like to focus on that right there!" and then "Nidia will perform in the ring if you wanted her to JR".

6) Lawler says that he wishes that could have gotten The Hurricane's mask that Nidia wore over her crotch.

7) The Hurricane grabs his cape that's hanging on one of the ring posts and Nidia takes it from him. Lawler then says "I'd like to see Nidia wear nothing but that cape!".

8) Nidia distracts Hurricane by kissing him, which surprises Lalwer and he says "Come over here Nidia!" and JR says "Yeah, Uncle Jerry's looking for ya!" and Lawler's reply is "JR, you're only as old as the women you feel".

• Eddie Guerrero vs Ric Flair now and Flair's theme appears to be dubbed with some kind of knock-off James Bond theme, even though on Raw his theme isn't dubbed.

During the match, Flair had some kind of erection.

https://i.postimg.cc/sDzJDxKy/zz3.png

Later in the match, Flair just randomly starts bleeding even though nothing touched his forehead and he didn't blade. He actually just began bleeding out of nowhere.

Flair wins the match thanks to Bubba randomly appearing through the crowd and interfering by hitting Guerrero with a Bubba Bomb.

• Molly Holly vs Trish Stratus for the Women's Championship is next and the funny thing is, I knew the outcome (obviously) but a few days ago I was reading the title history of the Women's Championship and saw that Molly beat Trish at King of The Ring and I thought to myself "damn, spoilers", so in a way, I spoiled what I already knew.

I still enjoyed the match though but seeing Trish back then and and then seeing her now, it's such a drastic change.

Time just hasn't been her friend and it's a shame really. Molly Holly on the other hand, still looks good. Sure, you can see she has aged slightly but it's nowhere near as drastic as Trish.

• Hulk Hogan vs Kurt Angle now and during Angle's entrance we see this sign:

https://i.postimg.cc/4xmHJTCs/zz4.png

Lalwer thinks it says "say no to rags" but JR corrects him. Lalwer then asks "what are they talking about?" as he can't understand what it's referring to and JR helps him out.

I can see why Lawler would think it said "say no to rags" as the "u" isn't clear as for some reason, every letter on that sign is a capital letter apart from the "u" but at the same time, why would someone bring a "say no to rags" sign to a wrestling event in the first place?

Anyway, later in the match Lalwer asks if JR knows the nationality of the man Angle beat to win the Gold Medal at the 1996 Olympics and JR says Iraq and Lalwer agrees and says "that's right!" but they're both wrong as he was actually from Iran.

Abbas Jadidi is his name. There's a little "fun fact" for you.

Near the end of the match, Lalwer (for some reason) implies that older fans of Hulk Hogan can't get erections. He says "old Hulkamaniacs are like old fishermen. They can't raise their poles". After some silence, Lalwer asks JR "Get it?".

Angle wins by making Hogan tap out and even though Angle spent around five minutes during the match without his wig on as Hogan took it off of him, he still picks it up and wears it after the match.

• Backstage we see Booker T and Goldust and later, The Rock. I must have really liked Booker T and Goldust back then (and I did) as I remember all their skits (including this one) so vividly.

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/izRoAbfS41Q" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Goldust stole it for me with his little actions and movements and generally acting like a child whenever The Rock scolded him.

• The King of the Ring finals between Brock Lesnar and Rob Van Dam is next and I really don't remember the match being as short as it was.

It was only around five minutes or so.

• The main event now between Undertaker and Triple H for the Undisputed Championship and halfway through the match, everyone including the referee is down and The Rock makes an appearance but it's only to chase Paul Heyman away from the announce table who's been saying that Lesnar took out The Rock backstage.

The Rock reaches the announce table which makes the three women behind JR and Lawler go absolutely hysterical. They just didn't stop screaming.

Nick Patrick then enters the the ring to replace Earl Hebner and knees Hebner right in the head in the process.

In the end, The Undertaker wins with a roll-up.

• Finally, in the spirit of Nashvember, I'll end with an image of Kevin Nash from the event, sporting a T-shirt that tells us which day of Nashvember it is today.
