I speculated (partly in jest) that since Kamiya (Bayonetta, Okami, DMC1) doesn't do sequels, but people are demanding a 'sequel' to Bayonetta, that his next action game will actually be a new IP altogether. His response was: "Hmm..."

Yeah. Tried it out. It's fun, but I'm gonna wait for it to go on sale.

C'mon... How badass is this!
http://www.rockmanpm.com/i/wallpaper...per02_1280.jpg I would have put Original in the center but whatever. |

Missing Khameleon and Chameleon.
But yeah, that was pretty lazy. |

I flicked through the history booklet that comes with it and it's not so much "history" as it is Miyamoto, Koji Kondo and some other guy giving one line comments about each console Mario game up to SMG2. Most of it is not even interesting stuff. It's stuff like "I wanted to have Mario run under a blue sky so that's what we did.". 2 or 3 things are new to me but most of it isn't interesting. There is nothing else to the booklet other than those little comments and a couple of design documents in Japanese. I was expecting something like a paragraph about each game with stuff like "We created Mario because...etc etc" and "We originally intended to do this or that but couldn't because..." and so on. The OST that comes with it has 20 tracks. The first 10 being one piece of music straight from each Mario (1, 2, 3, World, 64, Sunshine, NSMB, Galaxy, NSMBW and Galaxy 2.). The NSMB theme sounds better with CD quality than it does from the DS, obviously. So that's a plus. The other 10 tracks are just sounds you can find pretty easily online. The coin sound, the pipe sound etc. I don't think it was really worth the price (£19.99 in the UK). I like the idea of a Mario anniversary package but, in the end, they could have done better than the shoddy job they did, even if it meant charging more. This is worth £9.99 maximum, I'd say. |
Oh boy, more tomb raider games.
Uncharted does it about 65347376543 times better. Talk to me when the next installment in that series is announced. |
Too bad my Uncharted 1 freezes every fucking time I play, with whatever fucking disk I use. Probably never going to play Uncharted 2 because of this bullshit.
|
Is your save corrupted?
|
I've started the game over and over and over, with new firmwares, by formatting the hard drive, by doing every logical step, and it won't fucking work. I get to Chapter 6 or so, and it freezes. I reload it, and the coin spins infinitely. When I hard-reset the console and boot it back up, it freezes at the coin. I've honestly tried everything. Its my PS3, and I know no one that lives anywhere close to me that owns a PS3. My system has never had any issues otherwise. It's bizarre.
|
Well uncharted 2 might still work. There are a couple returning characters from 1, but beyond that, the plot is seperate from the first.
|
I'm sure it would. It's just that I want to play Uncharted 1 first. If I play Uncharted 2, I doubt I will want to return to the former. I will suffer through crazy amounts of a series to make sure I've playing everything in order. Probably the reason I've never played Dragon Quest.
Plus, I've played through enough of the game that I want to finish it first. Such a tease. Barely even got to the good parts. |
How long do you let it load? Leave it on all night and see hwhat happens
|
Too bad, because Uncharted 2 has imo, the best single player campaign of any game this generation.
|
yeah you will be missing out

Basically just makes me mad at this point. I've seriously played the game over at least five times, hoping it would make a difference. Farthest I got was Chapter 8, I think. |

Guess I could try again. Just gonna make me mad though. |
you could always just youtube the rest. it's a pretty short game, like 5 hours or so.
|
I've considered it, but I bought the game, so I want to play it.
Basically putting myself in an impossible situation. Sony told me I could send my PS3 in, but I didn't think it was worth the time. Probably past my warranty now. And like I said, my PS3 works perfectly otherwise. |
Next James Bond video game might be heavy in stealth and actual spy stuff than movie action style previous James Bond games have been. Activision is letting Raven Software develop the new Bond game and hopes for a 2011/2012 release date.
It is also possible since the good reviews of GoldenEye for the Wii which added stealth to a Bond game could have favored the decision to move the series in a new direction at least for 1 game. The game was originally stopped in development due to the possibility of MGM no longer owning the Bond license but the plan now is to finish the game while Activision is still the exclusive developers before MGM makes a decision. http://kotaku.com/5707833/james-bond...icense-tosneak |
I love the simplistic reasoning of these companies:
GoldenEye Wii was well received... It had stealth sections > Make a Bond game with more stealth sections! I don't even remember reviews praising the stealth sections in particular. But it's Raven Software so I'm good for this. |
To be fair, Activision didn't actually say that was a reason but since Raven Software barely makes any console stealth games and GoldenEye was pretty good at adding stealth as an option, its possible Activision saw it as an opportunity to change up the Bond formula.
It wasn't Rainbow Six or Splinter Cell quality in stealth but it did work well in a Bond game. The other Bond game, Blood Stone, didn't do well in sales or praise and that was more of a typical action style Bond game so it could have been another influence in the change of direction. |
I promise the failure of Blood Stone was based on everything but it being an 'action packed shooter'. It was just sub-par. lol
It's the difference between an inspired game with a vision in mind and a simple cash-in. Sometimes it overlaps and companies get lucky, but usually we see bullshit that deserves to get the cold shoulder. The upcoming Thor game will probably play like God of War, but in the way Origins Wolverine played like GoW. Origins had a vision in mind for how a Wolverine game should play (made by Raven Software!), and GoW was a sensible point of reference. Thor may play like GoW simply because the subject matter is similar. Entire games were made out of shallow concepts like that before. When I seen the pic of Thor on top of some beast, it fueled my prediction further. I just hate game development like that. |

Konami has confirmed to IGN it will release X-Men Arcade for Xbox Live Arcade next week on Wednesday, Dec. 15. Pricing details have not been revealed.
next week |
No price announced probably means 1200. Seems to be the new "sweet spot", sadly.
|
Sometime in 2012 I'm calling a 1600 "sweet spot"
|
That would be gay, because you get 1600 for $20. We get 1400 for $20.
|
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Xenosaga III |
But you already get 1200 for more than we pay, right?
|
We get cards in 1400 and 2800 increments. If all the DLC starts coming out at 1600, it makes those 1400 cards useless.
|
Depending on how you interpret what one of the EA bosses said, EA might be getting rid of single player games or pushing more emphasis on multiplayer/co-op only games in the near future.
Quote:
It is also possible EA just wants to add even more DLC and pay content while focusing less time on needing to create a single player mode or content. Sports games could be affected by getting rid of campaigns or Be A Pro mode. http://cache.gawkerassets.com/assets...x_oblivion.jpg http://kotaku.com/5709049/ea-wont-be...loners-anymore ------------------------------------------------------------------- In other EA related news, Dead Space 2 demo should be available on December 21 for XBLA and PSN in the US/Canada while Europe just needs to wait an extra day for it. |
Just another reason to not like EA.
|
US unboxing. Had some credit awhile back and ended up getting this for $1.12

It would seem 3DS' RE Revelations takes place after RE5, and Jill took a liking to her catsuit.
http://fast1.onesite.com/capcom-unit...9.jpg?v=270000 Don't think they're using Julia Voth's likeness for Jill anymore. Chris has a new suit as well. |
They BETTER use her damn likeness. Jill V's look seperated her from most generic looking broads in gaming.
