Should get whoever did set and costume design for Thor Ragnarok. Lots of kirbyesque elements translated brilliantly into that film. A must for a New Gods feature.

Yeah, there's still great stuff out there, even within big mainstream companies like Marvel and DC. The big titles like Avengers and JLA do fall on some tired, boring tropes at times, but you get a good story out of them once in a while.

The more low key titles are typically where you can find good reads.

Aquaman trailer and Shazam sizzle reel were presented at a DCEU panel and... reactions were positive.

Oh I didn't hear about Shazam yet. I gathered Aquaman looks epic and massive...and that makes me happy, I've always been an Aqua fan.

Destor will be happy to learn Bradley Cooper's directorial debut, the musical remake of A Star Is Born, starring Cooper/Lady Gaga also apparently went over like gangbusters with it's trailer.

Batwoman announced for next season's DCWVerse crossover

Im down. I'll have to watch arrow again i guess...

I'm pretty far behind on both Flash and Arrow right now.... haven't watched either in weeks...... Actually, I'm two weeks behind on Supergirl now too.....

Flash has been climaxing really well. Really enjoying it. Supergirl is a bit of chore but its more meh than bad. Arrow i havent watched in at least 8 weeks.

Haven't seen an episode of arrow, flash or supergirl since winter break so I've got some binging to do.

I was also enjoying Black Lightning, but haven't watched it in ages either.

Just too many shows on TV.

Watched the first two episodes of Krypton, but I just don't want to commit to it so I stopped taping it. (especially since those two episodes didn't grab me at all)

I haven't touched either of those but they are both on my watch list. Haven't seen a single episode of agents of shield either. I'm so far behind. TV season is about done though so i will have plenty to watch as summer comes full force.

Written by Tom King, Palmiotti, Bendis, etc though...which means they will likely be really good. Bendis's Batman story will be 12 issues long.

I'm sure they will do graphic novels of the various new content from those books, which seems better than buying a book filled with a lot of reprint material or y'know having to go into a WalMart.

Out of continuity stories and 1-shots with very badic status quos is how a LOT of people got introduced into comics at a young age. It wasn't The Long Halloween #4, it was some random mini-adventure of Batman chasing Joker, sold at a 7-11. Both Marvel and DC need to beef up stuff like that again.

I also really enjoyed Bendis's six-part Man Of Steel miniseries and I will definitely check out Action Comics when he takes over.

Need to pick up the last three issues of Man of Steel..... haven't been by the comic book shop in awhile....

Justice League and Hawkman also pretty good....

Finished Man of Steel and thought it started off a lot better than it ended..... we shall see where it goes from here, though....

Sideways is alright..... even if it reminds me of some sort of riff on Spider-Man...... Haven't read some of the other "new age of heroes" one yet.... Damage is pretty much a riff on The Hulk, and The Silencer is pretty much a riff on John Wick..... The Terrifics reminds me of Fantastic Four (while New Challengers does not)

In other news, Legends of Tomorrow will not be part of the crossover this year (bullpoop) that is set to introduce Batwoman, who is being eyed for her own spinoff show.

If they do make a Batwoman show, I think Arrow is definitely getting canceled/replaced with it.

...Why?

Because Arrow already feels like it is "past due", and another "non-powered vigilante" feels like a replacement to me.

Arrow has ran its course...but Legends will go first

Except CW diversifies in themes rather than archetype. Batwoman will likely be an LGBT detective thing.

The article I read didn't give any examples but it listed:

- They cast a non-Jew
- They should have casted a lesser known Lesbian, but they didn't even look.
- Maybe Ruby Rose isn't gay

As three types of backlash that some fans were doing.

I think its cause the fans believe Ruby Rose is not a very good actress. I recall hearing the old rumour mill spew about her lines all being cut from John Wick 2 because she didn't know how to talk

My problem with Scott Snyder's writing from METAL to now is that he has all these big cosmic ideas - but nothing gets time to land. It's just boom, off to the next mythos-defining concept. Barbatos, The Four Brothers, The tribe of the Hawk, The stuff happening now w/ "The Seven Energies" and "The Totality".

I don't feel like I really got to know Barbatos or The Four Brothers, for example. I'd like to see a concept introduced and then spend months showing me how it really has affected the DCU since the dawn of time. I feel like The 7 Energies/Totality will be the next thing never explained.

I was enjoying Sideways until it became unnecessarily grimdark the last two issues, so I might have to give that up. Talk about a tonal shift from a Peter Parker/Dick Grayson type attitude to angry/tortured soul all of a sudden.
