played the one on current gen. controls are too convoluted. it would be good otherwise.
|
I dont have a huge issue with the controls on PS3 version. The 3rd person aim is kind of like Mass Effect. The grappling hook can be weird sometimes. Still fun though.
Stunt jump is stupid too. It's basically just a jump. |
So i wont be playing Mario All-Stars i suppose. Whatever this email means.
Due to limited quantities, we will be unable to fulfill your Mario Joy Con skins pre-order bonus for Order Number 144124496. But don't worry, your pre-order of Super Mario 3D All-Stars has not been canceled and will be fulfilled as expected. My knowledge is that i cant play one of these games on Switch Lite so... I dont even know anymore. This entire thing seems thrown together with no thought. It's like Nintendo didnt know its the Mario 35th anniversery. Not that the are obligated, but if there were ever a year, this is the one. No E3, you failed to put out a first party other than Mario Paper and what.. Hyrule Warriors? Nintendo has to offer more to this Switch. So many Switches are being sold and Nintendo has not been able to do much than port old games. That's bad. And they are bungling this Mario 3D All-Stars. |
From what I'm reading, you ain't getting the DLC.
|
Finished the 4th DLC for Borderlands 3. 2nd best of the bunch.
Sorta leaves you a nice hook on what's to come. |
Wondering if I should invest time in previous Metal Gear Solid releases. Feel like Phantom Pain was a chore to get through. Very messy.
|
v is a terrible game
|
Yea V is prob the worst of all of them tbh.
|
X-Men Legends was the last game like that I've played and that one was really good. Guess they haven't found that same formula with similar games.
Lego does a better job with their take on offline multiplayer games. |
Guys I'm dying waiting for that Mario 35th Anniversary collection. Haven't touched my Switch since August but I'll be playing that as soon as the nsp for it leaks.
Until then i dont remember sucking this bad at Tony Hawk when i was a kid:lol: |
Are the controls for Tony Hawk 1 + 2 any better?
I should prob'ly explain the question more clearly... by convoluting it up! The original THPS was a groundbreaking game, but with the "benefit" of hindsight, the controls AND collision detection have aged like fine dogshit. I tried to go back and play the original on Playstation, and I was legit astonished as to how I was ever good at it. I remember relentlessly trying to single string combo The Mall from starting hallway to the finish line back in the day (and getting close, but I would always fuck up somewhere in the middle and hit the ground) and getting insane scores at Area 51... but when I fired it up years later, I barely could get past the school. Each subsequent game in the series got more polished in controls being less clunky and more responsive. 3 and 4 are considerably easier to go back and play, but aren't as fondly remembered. Then, they had that "remaster" like, what, seven years or so ago? And they said they intentionally kept the controls as terrible as possible [paraphrasing in my own words], for the original integrity or somesuch. It somehow felt worse trying to play that version than booting up a PSX and using the original hardware. There were also songs missing. Did they tighten up the controls and include the ENTIRE soundtrack(s) this time? |
This is much better than the HD remake that came out on PS3/360. The songs are still censored, but I think they're all there (also added a bunch from I guess other games in the series).
Watched a video that explained how grinding the same straight rail multiple times actually penalizes you, balance-wise. Same with doing a manual three times in a row without a grind or something in between. I don't know if that answers your question at all, but I found it very helpful. |
And you don't have to fully complete the game with everyone. Each skater has a set of challenges to do, which is much better.

1 3 and 4 are goat tier games
|
Upon further review of the recent posts, I won't load up Phantom Pain on my PS4.
Instead, I got Z.O.E 2 downloading. Should be ready when I get home from work. |
Tony Hawk 1+2 is great. They finally replicated the old controls and physics. Buy it.
And maybe a 3rd of the soundtrack is there. |

I got it on the cheap a while back. It's also VR compatible. But, I got that disconnected.
Crazy week and haven't been playing anything. Going to try tomorrow or Monday. |
On to Yakuza 3 Remastered. Kinda jarring going from the new engine on Kiwami 2 back to a remastered ps3 game, but it's not as terrible as I had feared. 3 is apparently the worst of the series as well but thankfully it's also the shortest. I hear the remasters of 4 and especially 5 are way better in terms of quality though.

Playing 2k battlegrounds. It's a fun game but not worth it price tag
|
The new wolfenstein games are so so good. The gameplay is fine nothing TOO special, fun to kill nazis and Klan members, but the story/alternate history/characters are really really interesting and funny. They just keep throwing twists at you, I didn't know what to expect when I started the series, it blew me away
Games I've beaten in 2020: Luigi's Mansion Final Fantasy 7 Remake The Last of Us Part II Death Stranding Celeste Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus |
It's sad the only games I've beaten this year was Resident Evil 3 and some Lego games
|
Actually forgot I did beat Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3
|
i wish UA3 was better...the 1st 4 are among my all time fav games. series peeked with XL2 tho
|
just beat trails in the sky FC. going back to Ghost of Tsushima next
|
I haven't played anything in about a month. I completed the first episode of Hitman season 1, but haven't done anymore.
I have been hearing the call of Skyrim as of late, but I don't know if I want to delve back into that. |
Detroit: Becoming Human
|
WWE 2K Battlegrounds.
Game came in the mail yesterday and its been pretty enjoyable based on the time I've spent with it so far. It has its fair share of issues and the overall quality of work reflects a lot in its budget price. Laughed at the very first match in campaign mode being against Baron Corbin since that is such a WWE move to do with a hyped up new guy or big storyline. |
I've been playing it, I have no idea why I got it. Maybe it's because I loved WWE All Stars so much.
Despite it's lack of depth, it does what it supposed to do very well. |
Between sessions of Yakuza 3 I've also started playing CrossCode. 16-bit style JRPG framed as an MMO even though it's single player. Kinda charming. Not far enough into it to make a judgement on the story though and I've only got access to minimal skills so I can't fairly judge what the battle system becomes but it is fun so far. Kinda plays like the old Mana games at this point though which is fine with me.
|
Jumping back into No Man’s Sky. Another massive update. Free, as usual.
|
Mario Sunshine is pretty good...dunno why I never picked it up for the Game Cube.

Wait it's only on steam right now. And you don't do PC. But it's coming to other platforms later this year.
|
just checked out a few reviews/gameplay vids on it.
looks like an amazing combat system. ive never enjoy a roguelike but if i were to this would be it. ill keep my eyes open for a console release :y: |
Yeah I typically don't like Roguelikes either. Dead Cells and Sundered are the only ones I've ever really played for any length of time and not ended up hating them.
|
I want to play Hades.
|
Z.O.E 2.
Might have to tweak the controls since it's been a while since I played the first. Fun so far. |
Considering purchasing Yakuza 0. Feel like it'd be quite a commitment considering how busy I get.

also disco elysium needs a console date. i want it on switch ideally. i have a laptop that could totally run it but its not my jam...still...tempting
|
Alot of strategy comes into play with crosscodes battles further in. Lots of juggling elementals and ranged/melee in order to target enemies weaknesses. Some of the bosses require a lot of rapid switching. Have to use environmental objects a bit too. I really like it.
Also it has a lot of puzzles and they can be quite fun. Some of them are challenging af too and require you to think outside the box. |
Yeah disco elysium looks incredible. Really wanna play it.

Cross Code is an amazing game. Def worth the price and more |
Completed Detroit: Becoming Human. Managed to get the best ending. Going through all the other endings on YouTube.
Ended up purchasing Yakuza 0. Hopefully I get the time to play it. |
I started Skyrim, but I just wasn't feeling it, so I am going to play Witcher 2 instead, which I've started in the past but never ventured beyond the prologue.

I love the nods to the ever frustrating "silent" protagonist role in rpgs too. Weird how it triggers emotions from the player that wouldn't normally be in play. |

Wild Hunt is awesome, but it is still quite fresh in my memory, so I am not looking to play it at the moment.
|
Ignored it for 2yrs even after it went on Gamepass. But it's been nearly a month since I started Naruto Shinobi Strikers and it's hooked me. Dunno why.

this game is so cool and tells a really interesting story, but i was so disinvested from it because of how truly horrid the actual gameplay is, just hours of wandering through hallways and into the wrong rooms, not being able to read the map properly, game-breakingly bad clunky combat where the hit detection is practically random, i just wanted the game to be over. i was only really motivated to keep playing because of how my friend and i were gonna play it together years ago and that saga. i got to a point six hours in where i saved before a boss with low health, and was softlocked out of going into any other part of the map that had healing items. I spent over an hour save stating my way through the bossfight... a true shame because this game could have been so good. bad game, but deserves a remake Games I've beaten in 2020: Luigi's Mansion Final Fantasy 7 Remake The Last of Us Part II Death Stranding Celeste Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus Rule of Rose |
I finished up FF9, unfortunately all the nostalgia and lovely stuff I remembered all happened in the first half of the game. The second half from like the Iifa tree onwards all felt kind of convoluted and not as lovely, the game was really easy too. Even the big secret bosses were a breeze.
I've started playing the Crash N Sane trilogy, finished Crash 1 and currently smashing through 2. Also have KOTOR downloaded on my PC with a few pretty mods. I've never really given the series much time so looking forward to a full playthrough. |

Mario 35

It took me 34 levels, but i finally won a game on Mario 35. Coin rankings unlocked.
|
Finished Crosscode. Great game. Can't wait for the DLC.
Gonna finish up Yakuza 3 now and move on to 4. |
just started crosscode. i like the characters and the world. not sure if the combat will hold me but im enjoying it so far
skill tree is nice too |

I'm now playing Genshin Impact between sessions of Yakuza. It's pretty sweet and even moreso because it's f2p. Can't remember too many f2p games, especially of the gacha variety, being so well polished. It plays and looks a lot like breath of the wild.

I am back heavily into rocket league, play it more now than when I first got it.
|
Juggling Marvel's Avengers, Donkey Kong Country 2 on Switch, and getting close to facing my 500th Ryu in online Street Fighter 5 matches because ZOMG!!!!111 RYU IZ DA BESTEST CUZ OF HADOKENZ AND HEZ A TRU WRRIOR~!!! NU CHARCTERZ R THE DUM!!!!!!1111
|
I mean it’s annoying, but Ryu and Ken are two of the easiest characters for most people to understand.
|
Dunno if it still holds true but I distinctly remember a period where several of the best players in the world mained Ken.

I just played my first game of Rocket League.
3 goals MVP I might just retire. |
Playing Blasphemous as it is on free play days for Xbox gold. Pretty fucking rad so far. It’s like 2d dark souls right down to the bleak, uncomfortable atmosphere. Same save mechanic too. Absolutely incredible sprite work. Some of the best I’ve ever seen in a retro style game.
|
now i see why Rocket League isnt catching on. It's incredibly fixed. Full time player are boosting themselves. Which is why you see the same Esport Players ( SHOCK! ) . It s not a great player. It is very literally a scheme.
|
I cant play this game anymore after watching my teammates work against me. I Dont even want to play Mario 35 anymore. This shit is alll rigged. I'm sticking to single player modes.
|
I'm literally trying to give Rocket League a chance but i played 3 straight matches where my own team members worked against me at every single point on the course.
|
I thought it was not normal.
Until it happened 3 times in a row. Than i realized that this is was Rocket League is. Erase! Enjoy your manipulated cheating game. |
I was playing Rocket league so hard until i figured out what was actually going on. Best players coming down and boosting ext...
Nope. Nintendo has a legit issue. They cant police cheaters. Cheaters are literally ruining Mario 35 too! How the fuck are you Nintendo and no policing this shit? It really dont make sense? You cant even get Comms right! |
In the hundreds of hours I’ve put into rocket league, I’ve never encountered teammates actively trying to lose. Must be a switch problem.
|
Rogue Company is the shit.
|
Jumped back into Stellaris. Fuck it's good. Forgot how quickly you lose track of time while playing.
|
In Rocket League, why cant i use the things i earn in my inventory on my car? Like i got a reward and it was a decal, but when i go to my preset car, that decal doesnt show as usable so i cant customize with it.
The only thing it appears I can do with my inventory is trade things in? I dont get it. |
You apply things you’ve earned in the garage.
Unless what you earned was a blueprint. Then you have to use credits to unlock it. |
I got a decal, but i dont know how to apply it.
|
I'm in the garage. When i go to customize and look at decals, the decal i earned from a loot thing ( thats in my manage inventory ), is not in my collected Decals.
|
It’s probably a blueprint then. I think that’s what the inventory is for.
|
Not a blueprint. The tab for Blueprints is under Manage Inventory and its called Blueprins.
|
I don’t know what to tell ya man. Maybe it was all a dream.
|
After further review, it turns out certain things go on certain cars so I have some things that i've unlocked but I dont have the cars to put them on.
|
Also, i'm doing my first tournament in 9 minutes.
|
Until Dawn.
Just finished my first play through. I had 4 people survive. |
Went back to MK11.

I dunno I'm Platinum
|
Fignuts or anyone else, I'm playing Rocket League and i assume its cross platform. I know Playstation is.. Do you wanna play with me?
I'm on Switch and my name is Shawnplex |
You don’t want none of this smoke...from my Rocket Car or Fig’s
|
We’ll take you to scoop town and serve you up some Raisin Bran.
|
Wow! I just wanted to be a teammate. You guys are deep in the streets!
|
I hate my video gaming habits. I'm so far behind. I'm literally locked into Rocket League right now and I feel like that game was 3 years ago.
I almost have all the Ghostbuster stuff unlocked. I'm starting to understand the equipping of things to customize. I havent really dove into trading things yet. I refuse to pay money, but it's cool because I feel like i'm doing great without paying money. |
The two games i'm devoting my time to are Rocket League ( about 75% ) and Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Whitch.
This is how far I am behind. There is no telling when i might get a PS5. I dont even have a PS4, but honestly, it's ok. I'm enjoying myself. |
