Antonio Cesaro is so fucking good in the ring. I'm seriously upset that he has been depushed so hard. Making me watch Main Event and shit.
|
Cesaro is fucking brilliant. I liked the arm work to counter White Noise and how Sheamus got around it.
|
I really hope Triple H does wrestle at the start of RAW. RAW gave me blue balls this week.
|
Curtis Axel is starting to grow on me. I wasn't sold week one, but the past two he's looked really comfortable.
|
I kind of don't want Axel to wrestle at Payback. They should just have Heyman pay for him to sit in a sky box and he can "observe" the Punk vs. Jericho match from there.
|
I didn't watch Superstars this past week, but apparently Justin Gabriel & Sin Cara formed a tag team and defeated The Prime Time Players. That could be a pretty decent use of each guy while they have nothing really going on. I couldn't see them challenging on PPV, but a RAW match between Rollins & Reigns and Gabriel & Sin Cara could work.
|
I like "Curtis Axel", but still can't buy him as a main eventer. To me, he's still Michael McGullicutty and he's still a jobber.
|
give him more than 3 weeks

So Impact is a platform for Bellator people to cut promos? Confusion. Yet, MMA could benefit from storylines and shit. This doesn't sell why I should watch tonight. Making it real hard to support them when they shit all over the place. So many other selling points could be highlighted. Street Fighter: The Movie |

As in he's gonna actually wrestle for the company on a regular basis? Could be a pretty big deal for them if that's the case. I'm intrigued. |
Wrassler Monkey really needs to start making wrestling gifs again.
I don't know where to get them currently. |

420 Chan's wrestling section /Woo is one of the places I usually go for gifs mainly for RAWs and PPVs.
The biggest problem is since its a chan board, they do tend to become broken links once the topic is deleted or moves off the page list unless it gets archived I think. http://boards.420chan.org/wooo/ |

Damien Sandow vs Deep Blue
God I love Sandow. |
"Thank you, Damien." "SILENCE!"
|
That beat down Sandow gave Sheamus was pretty much a "we're going to make it look like you can kick ass" beat down. I was expecting Sheamus to get some hits in somewhere, but he just floored by a pissed off Sandow.
Sandow is a modern version of The Million Dollar Man. They tried getting Ted DiBiase, Jr. to do that, but it just didn't work. Sandow is knocking the ball out of a child's hands, taking it and running with it, though. I really wouldn't object if he won a Money in the Bank briefcase this year (although I've got the feeling there may only be one up for grabs). A "smart" cash-in would be right up his alley. Too many guys are winning World Championships though. I'm just enjoying Sandow to the point where, if he has a singles match against Sheamus, I'd rather him win because it would help him a lot more than it would Sheamus. |
Agreed, wins over solidified stars, even if they aren't champs, would be great for Sandow.
Edit: 1990, my birth year. :D |
Am I the only one that thinks 3MB breaking up could actually be a pretty huge storyline. Not in the sense that I expect any of the three to revolutionize the industry after it happens, but it would just be fun to see the three beat the crap out of each other.
All three would be somewhat fresh in new roles too. Drew coming out to "Broken Dreams" might actually get a reaction from the right crowd. Jinder Mahal was stuck with an "I'm an Indian, boo me" gimmick that would have gone nowhere, but now might be able to keep the leather pants and develop a character that is something other than "angry foreigner." Slater, despite being so perfectly annoying, has quite the endearing quality about him. He and Justin Gabriel could actually make a pretty decent babyface tag team if neither is doing anything later in the year. |
Heath Slater should be given a gimmick similar to the one Barry Horowitz had back in the day. They should have him go on a losing streak for like 6 or 7 months, nonstop losing every week, have him earn the fans' sympathy, and then have him get a big win over someone like Wade Barrett or something.

I found it really weird that the WWE brought up Heath Slater as a babyface rookie on NXT. He was pretty much meant to be an annoying heel. The endearing heart and soul of Heath Slater as he gets the shit kicked out of him by virtually everyone could translate over to babyface status, though.
I mean, Heath Slater walking to the ring with a big goofy grin on his face as Brock Lesnar stands in there waiting for him? How could you not love that guy? |
Drew McIntyre is 28 years old and Jinder Mahal is only 26. These guys have plenty of time, which is why I think doing some time in something not so "serious" could be pretty beneficial for them. Slater's only 30 this year as well.

Can't wait, after their breakup they can have mock vh1 behind the music clips

Does anyone else here hate Lumberjack Matches? I just find that it's always jobbers around the ring and there is no story to them being there. For example, 3MB are going to be around the ring at Payback, but what are they going to really achieve by being there? And then the fall happens and they go to the back, thanks for coming guys. I just think they're awkward and more Superstars should be using that moment to "steal the spotlight," but they can't because that would just be a mess.
I guess I could deal with a Lumberjack Match if there were a real story behind it, and the Superstars around the ring all had a purpose for being there and wanted to kick the crap out of both guys in the ring. It should be because they are feuding, though. For example, if there was a Money in the Bank Ladder Match coming up, two of those guys fighting with the rest of the competitors as lumberjacks would work. If you fall out of the ring you get kicked by your other opponents at the PPV, but there is no bias towards either guy. |

I love how they call Jinder Mahal the "funny one" despite him never actually doing anything funny.

With the Kaitlyn admirer angle, I like the idea I saw here that someone had (clearly) of it being a prank pulled by AJ Lee to mess with Kaitlyn. That would set up a Payback match pretty nicely between the two. Anyway, since Vince McMahon is probably going to be on RAW and there need to be some matches set for the show, I would have the card pretty much set up in a backstage segment with Vince, Vickie and Brad Maddox where Vince says that he's looking for a permanent General Manager of RAW and he wants to here some ideas from Maddox and Vickie. The two basically just rattle off some match ideas and one of them is Kaitlyn getting her hands on AJ Lee, but Brad throws on the added stipulation of it affecting the World Title match later in the show -- if AJ Lee wins, then Dolph Ziggler gets to choose the match stipulation between him and Del Rio; but if Kaitlyn wins, Del Rio gets to choose the match. Vince likes that idea.
At Payback, AJ Lee forces Kaitlyn to submit and becomes the new Divas Champion. It could be the opening match of the PPV, or it could even be on the pre-show if the rest of the card is stacked. Dolph Ziggler then gets to choose how he faces Del Rio later in the show. Being a slimy heel, Dolph chooses Handicap Match -- he and Big E. Langston will both face Del Rio. This does a few things: * It keeps Ziggler vs. Del Rio as a one-on-one match fresh. Since Ziggler has been out there hasn't really been much interaction between the two, so the PPV is hardly being sold on their account. Zigs vs. Del Rio could happen again at a later date. * Del Rio is now unfairly positioned which will hopefully get the fans behind him. It also gives him a credible way to lose and keep face. * Let's say Big E. Langston gets the pinfall. Or let's say he finishes off Del Rio and then Ziggler tags himself in and takes the pin for himself. That furthers the developing tensions between Camp Ziggler. * Or, and I know people will hate this suggestion, let's say Del Rio uses his cunning and experience to defeat Langston in the match. Ziggler wasn't in the fall that lost the title, so he's got a legit reason to be pissed at Langston. It also puts the World Title back on Del Rio, and as a babyface one of Del Rio's greatest attributes is his credibility and that depends on him actually winning matches. Let's go with Del Rio managing to pin Langston. Ziggler slaps Langston in the face and Langston shoves Ziggler down after the match, but AJ Lee stands between Langston and Ziggler and saves Dolph from a further beat-down. On RAW, Dolph calls out Langston and wants to know what happened. Dolph tries to guilt Langston into feeling bad -- after all, Dolph's the reason he has a job here and the reason he got the opportunity to debut at WrestleMania. AJ's a champion, Dolph was a champion until Langston screwed it up and he wants an apology. Del Rio crashes the party and he sort of comes to Langston's defense. He says he respects Langston as a performer and there's absolutely no shame in losing to the best in the world. Wink. Del Rio says that he's been WWE Champion before, but his dream was always to be the World Heavyweight Champion, because he's competed all over the world and not just in WWE, so he fights harder for this title than anyone. He reminds Langston that he has a lot of money, and he'd spend a lot of money to see Langston kick Dolph's ass. You can do the face turn for Langston right there and then, or you can have Langston continue to play confused. Whatever. But basically CM Punk takes offense to hearing Del Rio refer to himself as "The Best in the World." Punk challenges Del Rio to a match that night, but the World Title isn't on the line since Ziggler hasn't gotten his rematch and Maddox/Vickie don't have authority over the title. Del Rio and Punk do their fine work, but then Dolph comes out and costs Del Rio the match. Punk gets a big win over the World Champion, but he doesn't like that Ziggler helped him. He and Dolph start brawling, because Punk feels that Ziggler hurt his point, and Punk nails the GTS on Dolph, but then Del Rio takes out Punk with a roundhouse kick and gets to stand tall as World Heavyweight Champion. This leads to a Triple Threat World Heavyweight Championship match at Money in the Bank in Philadelphia, where Punk will be super-over, Ziggler will probably be super-over and Del Rio might even be super-over. They'll tear the house down and there can be the question of what role, if any, Big E. Langston will play in the match. Put that with John Cena vs. Daniel Bryan for the WWE Title, one or two Money in the Bank Ladder Matches, Curtis Axel vs. Triple H in a No Holds Barred Match, Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns defending the WWE Tag Team Championship against my dream team of Sheamus & Antonio Cesaro and you've got yourself a pretty memorable card popping up. |
|
I say one or two Money in the Bank Ladder Matches, because I wonder if two might be killing the gimmick a little bit? It's worked for the past couple of years, but it's really only one briefcase winner who stands out. It also adds intrigue as to which title they will go for, and not just when. Plus, the difference between the WWE Title and World Heavyweight Title is no longer associated by brand. You could have former champions in one like last year, but then you're not really "making a star" with it.
How about an eight man Ladder Match featuring the likes of Chris Jericho, Christian, Cody Rhodes, Damien Sandow, Dean Ambrose, Kane, The Miz and Randy Orton. You've got a mix of established veterans and former World Champions, former winners of MITB itself, the guy who invented the concept and some rising stars. Where's Ryback? You have his spot cost to him when he loses to Randy Orton after Kofi Kingston returns and costs Ryback the match. I mean, look at this potential Money in the Bank card: WWE Championship John Cena (c) vs. Daniel Bryan * Daniel Bryan forces John Cena to submit to The "YES!" Lock and captures his first WWE Championship in a moment that people will remember for a long time. Triple Threat Match for the World Heavyweight Championship Alberto Del Rio (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. CM Punk * Big E. Langston turns on Dolph Ziggler, setting up Ziggler vs. Langston at SummerSlam. Punk is the one who capitalises on this and becomes a four-time World Heavyweight Champion in Philly. No Holds Barred Match Curtis Axel vs. Triple H * It looks like Triple H is about to win the match, but Paul Heyman gets into the ring and subjects himself to a Pedigree, allowing a recovering Axel to grab a sledgehammer Triple H introduced and nail him across the jaw with it and get the pin. Money in the Bank Ladder Match Chris Jericho vs. Christian vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Damien Sandow vs. Dean Ambrose vs. Kane vs. The Miz vs. Randy Orton * Dean Ambrose wins the match because he is a rising star that the WWE can probably get behind. Jericho is the second-to-last man on the ladder and this sets up Ambrose vs. Jericho at SummerSlam for the US Title -- the only championship Jericho hasn't won in the WWE. Tables Match Ryback vs. Kofi Kingston * Kofi Kingston puts Ryback on a table and goes for a Boom Drop off a ladder onto Ryback, but Ryback moves and Kofi goes through. Ryback then gets another table and powerbombs Kofi right through it to officially win the match and get his first PPV win in like a year. WWE Tag Team Championship Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns (c) vs. Sheamus & Antonio Cesaro * I'd actually move the titles on Sheamus & Antonio Cesaro here, just because there aren't too many face teams that can take on The Shield, and them losing would be a big deal. This would allow a rematch at SummerSlam between the two teams. Intercontinental Championship Fandango (c) vs. Wade Barrett * Barrett gets his rematch against Fandango from Payback, where Fandango manages to steal the championship by pinning The Miz with a Flying Leg Drop. An overzealous Barrett doesn't only want to beat Fandango, but hurt him as well. He goes for the Bullhammer on Fandango after a pretty one-sided affair in Barrett's favour, and has Fandango's head lined up against the ring post. Fandango is pulled out of the way by Summer Rae and Barrett's arm is then injured. Fandango manages to bust out a new arm-based submission move and Barrett is forced to tap. Divas Championship AJ Lee (c) vs. Kaitlyn * AJ Lee forces Kaitlyn to submit to the Black Widow. Then I would hopefully hear cackling over the PA as Kharma made her return, but I always say that. Six-Man Tag Team Match The Wyatt Family vs. R-Truth & The Usos * R-Truth, simply because he's over and doesn't always job, seems like he'd be a good first target for The Wyatt Family. It's also good to get a veteran on PPV. Bray scores the pin despite shenanigans, perhaps from Bayley at ringside. Pre-Show Match Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins vs. Epico & Primo * A simple battle between two former Tag Team Champions who are looking to get back into contention. This would be a great way to warm the crowd up. Ryder & Hawkins, the face team, pick up the win and move forward, but are attacked by The Prime Time Players after the match. |
Oh, and maybe they can bring Rob Van Dam back for Money in the Bank this year. I'm not sure what his plans are, but prior to signing with TNA, he was open to one-night deals with the WWE. You can do a thing where all former Money in the Bank Winners are given priority entry into the match, and RVD comes back as a former winner of the match to see if he can still be "The Whole Damn Show." That'd move the match up to nine people, which still wouldn't be the most crowded one ever. But RVD? In a Ladder Match? In Philly? Come on.
