It'll probably be that other Spanish guy whose name escapes me right now.

Danny Electric 11-21-2004 08:48 PM

Mista? I think. I hope it's not him, saying they only want a million pound for him and I don't think that appeals much to me.
Last I heard the Real president said he didn't want to sell anyone in the Jan transfer windown and Morientes said that he'd rather go to Monaco.
Not sure with Johnson, I see him staying at Palace.

Cactus Sid 11-21-2004 11:05 PM

I think he's called David Villa, but I could be wrong

Wengerland 11-22-2004 05:58 AM

Mista's a good player but he's signed a new contract now and was only available for that price cause his contract runs out at the end of the season.

I only saw Villa play in one match but he looked good, a bit like a Spanish Dickov in terms of work rate but Liverpool should be looking for a taller player, someone who Baros could work with.

Mr. Monday Morning 11-22-2004 06:00 AM

Jan Koller :shifty:

Wengerland 11-22-2004 06:10 AM

Not a bad shout actually, Dortmund are in financial trouble so he could be cheap :$

Why do you always overreact, it's like the time last season when we beat you 3-0 and Wayne Bridge scored the first goal, and he ran over to our dugout in delight, whilst shaking his fist, he couldn't help but go past your fans, as it happens he was elebrating at that point to the Chelsea fans in the two teirs above your fans.

Stop looking into things too much.

Ogen 11-22-2004 01:14 PM

Larrson's Barca career is all but over. Hes out for 7 months folllowing his inury against Real and since he only has a one year deal with Barca I can't see them renewing it. Chances are he'll head back to Sweeden when fit to that Hobogeno( spelled horribly ) lot where he started his career.

God, Larsson:'(

I bet they regret loaning Saviola out now, if any of Ronaldinho, Eto'o and Giuly gets injured they've only got Messi and some other youngsters who can play there, as well as Iniesta i suppose.

Can't be worse than our situation. Playing against Boro' with two attacking midfielders. :(

Wengerland 11-22-2004 01:22 PM

Yeah, i suppose Barça have still got their main three forwards :$

Give Mellor a chance for now though, he did well in teh carling cup.

Yeah, he scores two goals and then goes back to the subs bench and plays in the reserves. He scored tiwce against a near full stregnth Boro side in the cup, so why not give him a chance in the League.
Plus playing Garcia and Kewell up front together was just silly.

packt up 11-22-2004 01:32 PM

Kewell is fat and shit.

Danny Electric 11-22-2004 01:36 PM

I've got to admit that Kewell has been terrible for us. Probably because he has been played out of position, he should play behind the striker and not on the wing.
His partnership with Viduka was beautiful to watch but I'm glad we got Kewell for the price we did and he doesnt't look worth that at the moment.

Seriously when Liverpool bought him I thought it was one of the greatest buys of the season.

He just has never got there fitness or form wise - he used to be amazing but now he's like next to no threat whatsoever.

Even Robert is a more consistent threat than him :shifty:

packt up 11-22-2004 01:42 PM

Oh yeah thats Robert the most inconsistant player in the league.

I give you that one.
Shows how much of a good player that Yakubu is, you just need Berger to score some blinders.

Kewell is probably too busy banging his missus, which I don't blame him for.

Wengerland 11-22-2004 02:01 PM

and suing Gary Lineker, the twat.

Kewell's a twat i mean, not Gary

He's suing Lineker?
Why?

Danny Electric 11-22-2004 02:08 PM

We sent a scout to watch Stephen McPhee (?).

He was, not heard about it in a while so he may have dropped it actually.

It was about an article Lineker wrote that was published in a paper about players loyalty or agents role in moves (not sure which :$) and he gave Kewell's move to Liverpool as an example, so Kewell got mad by the looks of it.

Lineker was only telling the truth, Kewell wouldn't have had a case.

Its just a bugger that all of our strikers pick now to get bad knee injuries ;) Fuller wont get loads of goals, he's better off holding up the ball and playing off someone else, its just he can't play off anyone else because they're all crocked.

PSIcological 11-22-2004 03:26 PM

Whatever happened to mornar? Ashamedly enough I was at the 4-3 tottenham-portsmouth game last season (don't ask) and when he came on he looked amazing. Ever since then though...

Villa up to 5th as we maintain our unbeaten home record thanks to a fucking great gaol from Solano. Villa 1 - Spurs 0.

i hate hearing bullshit like this, we get it all the time about viduka and its a load of old bollocks.

they train how many days a week? they have access 24/7 to the gym, they play a sport for a proffesion, the clubs they play for employee fitness coaches so you tell me why the fuck they still come out with bullshit that players arnt at full fitness?

with viduka he was banned for the first few games of the season, in that time he should of been working on his fitness so he was ready for when his season started!

dont know what kewell's situation is but i never accept it when im told a player isnt at full fitness as with the amount they get paid they have no excuss for not being fit.

thank god we have stewie downing  and tony mcmahon who are super humanly fit and could run allday if they needed too!

Shawshank 11-22-2004 06:51 PM

just seen solanos goal if he ment that it was quality

Well he earned himself the nickname Moanar after a couple of weeks being here. He made some comment about how he had loads of offers from English women but would only go with Croats. Then he made some comments to the press about how English football was aweful and only Man U, Chelsea and Arsenal play the right way. Considering he had just moved from the Belgian league and how much Harry Redknapp prides himself on his teams playing good football, this wasn't bright.

He whinged about being played on the right wing, insisting he was a striker but then spent Euro 2004 playing for Croatia on the right wing, incidently Boris Zivkovic left us after insisting he was a centre back and saying he didnt play at fullback then spent Euro 2004 playing fullback and in midfield...maybe its a Croatian thing.

Then he turned up unfit for a preseason friendly and this pretty much was the end and we loaned him out to Rennes for the season. He hasn't scored for them.

We've only just got a new stadium and that hasn't been sold out since the opening day of this season.

Ogen 11-23-2004 11:42 AM

From F365..

Quote:

Let's All Chant
Or rather let's not, actually - especially if the chant in question is the one written by 'Barclays Chant Laureate' Jonny Hurst in tribute to Sir Alex Ferguson, sung, of course, to the tune of 'Mrs Robinson'. Mediawatch brings you the highlights...

'So here’s to you Mister Ferguson
You’re the greatest coach this club has seen
(like Aberdeen)'

'God bless you please, Mister Ferguson
Who said you don’t win anything with kids
‘Cos yes you did (oh yes you did)'

'Your boys play the tune to the sound of your beating drum
Your skippers are as tough as your chewing gum'

'The Beautiful Game pumps your veins
Gives you a natural high
Yes, you’ll be breathing football, Fergie, ‘til the day you die'

'So here’s to you, Mister Ferguson
You’re the reason why this club has grown
(And you’re as hard as stone)'

Remarkably, Mr Hurst 'beat over 1,500 worldwide entries to win the title of Barclays Chant Laureate'. Which makes you wonder about the other 1,499...
God thats bad.
