She's athletic. Curvy. Strong. That's what I'm talking about.

Sixx 07-08-2017 12:25 AM

Still not as stupid as Punisher/Eminem comic book.

None of that is seen in that pic though. But to be fair i work in the fitness industry so im around women with muscle tone all the time. My bar is just high i guess. That pic of her has no definition at all. Just a small waiste further complimented by big tits. Skinny girl swings sword is all i see.

Damian Rey 2.0 07-08-2017 10:12 PM

Well they can't add too much definition or she'll look masculine. And yeah that photo is not necessarily a great depiction but I'm speaking more in general.

I view this as athletic, strong. Not much curves but that's ok.

Yeah thats athletic for sure

Dark Days:The Casting was everything I love in comic books.

It's so good. DARK NIGHTS: METAL (DC's big summer event) is going to be nuts (in a really, really good way).

slik 07-12-2017 12:02 PM

Dark Days: The Forge and Dark Days: The Casting are the two preludes to DARK NIGHTS: METAL btw.

Lock Jaw 07-12-2017 12:11 PM

Looking forward to picking it up when I am back home.....

Lock Jaw 07-12-2017 12:14 PM

I think I am going to start switching to trades instead of single issues in the near future, though......

Just take up less space, can be put on a bookshelf, and everyone writes for the trades anyways these days....

Only thing keeping me back at this point is that if I keep up buying single issues for another year, I can get to Action Comics #1000.....

The Walking Dead's Lauren Cohan Might Be The Next Joker

Following the news of the Flash Point movie being added to the Warner Brothers' plans for upcoming DC Films projects, fans of DC Comics made the connection of a couple of actors from The Walking Dead playing key roles in the movie.

Not only does the Flashpoint comic book story indicate an opportunity for The Walking Dead's Negan actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan actor but the animated film Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox took Batman's other parent and turned her into an iconic DC Comics villain.

In the Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox animated film, Martha Wayne is the Joker.

Never heard of Flashpoint Paradox. Never heard they were gonna make a Flashpoint movie either.

Kalyx triaD 07-24-2017 04:17 PM

That was just announced and if they adapt the ruined timeline closely that would indicate Jeffery and Lauren could very well return as Batman and Joker.

Although we must note that Flashpoint Joker didn't get much time in the actual comic, rather expanded in a tie-in comic. But seeing as how Lauren is fairly well known and that version of Joker is too compelling to pass up I'd bet they'd give her more time in a movie.

The bigger implications is what happens after this story, as it altered DC in a huge Crisis-like scale both in-universe and for expanded media going forward. I half joked that if all those DC movie suck, if JL especially doesn't maintain WW's momentum, Flashpoint is their get out of jail free card. They will absolutely use it to scrub the movie universe the same way Days of Future Past or Abrams Star Trek did; a 'Canonized Reboot'. Probably why it's been pushed so far back behind projects it is clearly farther along in production than.

Lock Jaw 07-24-2017 07:26 PM

I thought I read the "Flashpoint" was just gonna be the subtitle of their solo Flash movie...... could have very little to actually do with the comic book story...... Would seem "redundant" to me..... Flashpoint being a fairly recent comic book storyline, already adapted into an animated movie, and a story on the Flash TV show.

Lock Jaw 07-24-2017 07:27 PM

What I find weird is that DC Comics is making both a Shazam and Black Adam movie...... and Black Adam won't be in Shazam....

slik 07-25-2017 08:46 AM

It makes me wonder who the villain in Shazam will be. Mister Mind or Sivana maybe?

Lock Jaw 07-25-2017 10:25 AM

BTW, I totally get the reasoning behind it, but I still don't like Captain Marvel being called Shazam......

I mean, it makes sense from a legal and also less brand confusion point of view...... but it just isn't "traditional", ya know?

You would think they would save this for a 2nd movie so they could highlight and hint as to the dangers of Barry traveling thru time could do. I do guess flashpoint is the most well known flash story so maybe they think they can jump the gun. It is also possible that we will get enough flash origin story in Justice League to set up flashpoint. From the trailers ,flash having his powers are new so it's reasonable he would use them for selfish purposes regardless of the outcome. We also have the whole flash appearing before Batman in bvs. Actually, come to think of it, I think the most shocking thing is dc/wb may actually be planning stuff out. Weird.

Kalyx triaD 07-25-2017 02:09 PM

Nah they just threw that Flash scene in there to be ominous. BvS was nonsensical on many occasions.

Lock Jaw 09-04-2017 04:11 PM

Reports that DC might be eyeing John Cena for Captain marvel/Shazam.

Then we can get John Cena Shazam vs. The Rock Black Adam ONCE IN A LIFETIME

Fignuts 09-04-2017 06:56 PM

Did I hear right that they're making 2 Joker movies? One in canon with the DCEU and one that's not?

What the fuck are these people doing?

Lock Jaw 09-04-2017 08:11 PM

I hear tell of a Joker/Harley Quinn movie in the DCEU, and then a Martin Scorcese made Joker "origin" story not in the DCEU.

Destor 09-04-2017 08:27 PM

Trying to make joker his own brand is just the worst

Lock Jaw 09-04-2017 09:00 PM

One of my fav old series is Starman by James Robinson

Will suggest more things later when I am not on my phone

RP 09-06-2017 03:48 AM

I dont want to read a whole series. I want story arcs inside the series to read like the Infinity arcs.

Lock Jaw 09-06-2017 09:51 AM

Oh, ok.... that's harder... Will see what I can do.....

Lock Jaw 09-06-2017 07:25 PM

Superman
Superman: Birthright
Superman: Up, Up, and Away & Superman: Back in Action
The Death & Return of Superman
Superman and The Legion of Super-Heroes
Superman: The Men of Tomorrow

Batman
Batman: Zero Year - Secret City & Zero Year: Dark City
Batman: The Court of Owls
Batman: The Long Halloween
Batman: The Killing Joke

Justice League
JLA: Tower of Babel
Justice League of America: The Rise of Eclipso
Justice League: Darkseid War Part 1 & Part 2
Justice League of America: Power & Glory

(URLs stopped working, I guess there is a "max" you can put in a post.)

Lock Jaw 09-06-2017 07:27 PM

I'll leave it at that for now..... lemme know if you want any other characters......

Kalyx triaD 11-24-2017 01:00 AM

Mera's gonna get a big push in the comics. Expect her own book and way more crossover presence going forward. It's about time, I always liked her. Queen of the Seas is no small thing and in my view should at least be the Storm of the DC universe. Regal, powerful, not to be fucked with.

Fignuts 11-24-2017 01:08 AM

Didn't she get a big push before? Like after the red lantern business?

Kalyx triaD 11-24-2017 01:14 AM

I remember that. That was like a push the way Black Adam got a push after some hype panels in Infinite Crisis. Like going from Smackdown to Raw.

What I'm reading about Mera is being on Raw, 2nd hour, getting a title run, and doing commercials and shit. The whole Harley Quinn 2000s push package.

Kalyx triaD 11-24-2017 01:17 AM

I imagine they either saw something they liked in early Aquaman cuts, wanna push another heroine, or they legit feel it's about time. She's certainly gonna rub off the suddenly digestible AquaRoman.

Kalyx triaD 12-08-2017 06:38 AM

And yet another shake up at DC Entertainment following Justice League. Zack Snyder is confirmed never to touch a camera again. Geoff Johns may also be out. And they're contemplating not even having a DC film wing and letting WB directly watch over production. Guess the Marvel Studios route is beyond them.

Or they can hire Paul Dini, promote Patty Jenkins to a DCEU shared with Whedon, and give Ben his movie back.

Damian Rey 2.0 12-09-2017 12:56 AM

Ben doesn't want the movie back. Feels like he's wanted out since bvs got mauled by critics

All Affleck said was that everyone eventually leaves the Batman role and that when the time comes, he wants to leave in a cool and graceful way. Quit making shit up.

Moron.

slik 12-20-2017 04:09 AM

I really need to read more of Tom King's Batman. Everything I've read so far is the most refreshing Bat stuff in years.

Lock Jaw 12-20-2017 06:13 PM

I've read some.... was good.... not as good as Scott Snyder Batman.....

I also prefer the "Detective Comics" series.....

Behind on both, though......

Damian Rey 2.0 12-20-2017 11:16 PM

Snyder was amazing on his new 52 run of Batman. Zero Year might be my fave Batman story. Death of the Family was stellar as well.

Lock Jaw 12-21-2017 12:00 AM

Was "v emotional" with Alfred/Bruce in the "Mr. Bloom" storyline

Damian Rey 2.0 12-21-2017 12:24 AM

When Alfred has to pull the lever. Great moment. That'd actually make a great Batman movie.

slik 12-21-2017 01:29 AM

I still love Scott Snyder too. Just read Metal #4 and what a bold event series it is. It manages to be something new while also touching on (this issue) the monitors/crisis's.

slik 12-21-2017 01:31 AM

Tom King's Batman I would say is surprisingly emotional -- but also very, very character driven. This month's issue focuses on Batman/Catwoman going on a double-date with Superman/Lois Lane. There are so many fantastic moments between the four.

slik 12-21-2017 01:43 AM

Some pages from Batman Annual #2, possibly my favorite comic of the year - I like how each new Bat writer gets to come up with how Batman turns out in the future (Morrison, Snyder, King).

Damian Rey 2.0 12-21-2017 08:15 PM

Jesus Christ, that just broke my heart. Damn it.

Kalyx triaD 12-21-2017 08:28 PM

Afflect on Batman basically: "Ya know sometimes you gotta move on the mantle always changes, I love being Batman, if the script works I'm there, I had fun it was a good run, playing Batman can get really rough, who knows what the future holds, I'd love to direct The Batman, I think they're going with a new direction, oh we talk about the next thing everyday, etc"

Damian Rey 2.0 12-21-2017 08:35 PM

Hopefully the Reeves script convinces him up stay

Kalyx triaD 12-23-2017 01:09 PM

Take this with a side of saltine:

Batfleck will in fact sign for another round of DCAU (while not called 'Phase 2', it's basically that). How they coaxed him may have to do with him actually getting to direct JL 2.

Same rumor adds that the now super positive Henry Cavill is signing for not just MoS2, but a new Superman trilogy, with two cameos in other movies.

These two breaks were together so I suppose when we get official news on one part, it starts to validate the rest.

More solid news is Suicide Squad 2 may launch in 2019, starts filming in a few months. Aquaman will be darker than JL DESPITE Arthur being one of the brighter characters.

And curiously, the Arrowverse has been trying to use The Question for a long time but WB apparently has plans for him. Didn't say what.

Damian Rey 2.0 12-23-2017 06:18 PM

Link to this stuff? Affleck signing on and doing the Reeves trilogy would be amazing

Kalyx triaD 12-23-2017 08:48 PM

Dunno. I think it is weird to do a solo Black Adam movie and not have him in Shazam.

Fignuts 12-24-2017 01:51 AM

First real introduction to him I had was Kingdom Come.

So it kind of killed the character for me, because regular universe Captain Marvel never seemed as big of a deal as he was in that story.

After "Dark Knights: Metal" is over, the two Justice League books are ending and a four issue Mini-series called "Justice League: No Justice" will launch some new books with some pretty weird rosters:

The new rosters are advised by Brainiac to fight some big impending cosmic threat.

Team Mystery: Martian Manhunter, Sinestro, Superman, Starfire, and Starro

Team Entropy: Lobo, Lex Luthor, Beast Boy, Batman, and Deathstroke

Team Wonder: Raven, Doctor Fate, Zatanna, Wonder Woman, and Etrigan the Demon

Team Wisdom: Cyborg, Harley Quinn, Atom, The Flash, and Robin.

Joss Whedon has exited from the Batgirl movie:

Quote:

"Batgirl is such an exciting project, and Warners/DC such collaborative and supportive partners, that it took me months to realize I really didn’t have a story,” Whedon told THR. “I’m grateful to Geoff [Johns] and [Warners Picture Group president] Toby [Emmerich] and everyone who was so welcoming when I arrived, and so understanding when I… uh, is there a sexier word for ‘failed’?”

Sixx 02-22-2018 04:35 PM

I was gonna say Whedon would be betraying Marvel with Batgirl, but I didn't know (or I did but forgot) he co-wrote Justice League already. Shame on you, you ginger fuck.
