Which would be a 6/10
|
I'm sticking to my rating scale. 7/10. 3/5.
|
Tron Legacy: 8/10
I liked the story. Hated the fact that it felt like I was watching a 2 hour game of laser tag (but that's Tron anyway.). Olivia Wilde looked hot as hell. Daft Punk cameo (as well as their musical compositions) was PERFECT for this type of movie. |
Nosferatu - 10/10. 2nd time I watched this. Max Schreck >>>>>>>>> Twatlight. :P
Swamp Women - 6/10.. A few catfight moments and lots of short jean shorts. http://cache.io9.com/assets/resource...reanimator.jpg ^ 9/10. Creepiest and funny are the talking heads and headless corpses trying to do things without heads!! |
Black Swan - 9/10
Arinofsky does it again. |
Tron Legacy - 8.5/10

I'm Still Here - 69

GOT NETFLIX!!!!!! so I should posing more of a threat in here. Watched these all on Monday this week.
The Crazies: 8/10: Really liked this movie. these types of movies are always a hit with me. I thought the concept was great with the drinking water getting cotaminated and people going insane. I thought they could of done more with "The Crazies" though as it sort of turned into the military vs the non crazy people. Can't have two heel groups in the movie. there's a conflict there. Legion: 6/10: again, my kind of flick, but it was pretty cheesy. They need to make another movie like this, but not as dumb. They could of done 10x better. The Dark Crystal: 1/10 Ok, this one is why I have come in here today. I love 80's Fantasy movies. I've watched pretty much all the popular ones, except for this one. I've been wanting to watch this forever as it's always one people recomend from that genre. Finally got a chance to watch it this week and my god was it awful. I'm pretty sure it might have been awesome to me 20 years ago, but I dunno, really bad. I turned it off about 50 mins in. I was really trying to at least get to the end, but I didn't last. Kind of gutted me :( . Rise and Fall of WCW: 8/10 Yea, curve ball. Most people didn't like it as they felt it was short. I thought it was pretty good. If you combine it with Monday Night Wars, you pretty much get the story. I hate how they keep reusing stuff from older DVD's though. it's starting to get annoying. |

The Box - 3/10 Started off okay....then it was just "What the hell?" |

just came in the mail yesterday. Very intrigued by this movie can't wait to watch it. |

Black Swan - 5/5
|
Breaking the Code: Behind the Walls of Chris Jericho - 4 out of 5
Great dvd set with the only negative being very little matches or extras dealing with his time in WCW. I think its just 3 matches and 2 skits from WCW but the documentary is really good. |
It may be really good but it's not a movie.
|
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal skulls: 7.5/10
I was really surprised by how good Harrison Ford was in it. Some of the stuff in the movie was very dumb, but it was enjoyable. The Fighter: 9/10 Christian Bale kils it, and they used a great song for the movie. |
The Tourist - 7/10.
I bought a ticket for True Grit, but didn't feel like sitting a very crowded theater. Muse's Starlight does not fit the end credit song. |
Waiting For Guffman - 8/10
Another brilliant film by Christopher Guest. |

Watching Paranormal Activity right now. Let's just say I have no idea how the chick's face looks because my eyes were downward most of the time. Great rack on that chick.
|
I'm Still Here - 8/10
Probably a lot of haters out there for this one but I thought it was good. Interesting take on celebrity/media relations and ridiculous social experiment. Crazy to stay in character for an entire year. Revanche - 9/10 |
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World - 8/10
Entertaining, but felt like it was missing something. Maybe it's because I don't care for Michael Cera any more. He has to play a hipster musician in all of his movies now. Grown Ups - 3/10 Adam Sandler should just stop making movies for now. |
really liked Grownups :(
Wicked Little Things: 6/10 I'm going to be watching a ton of these horror movies that never made it to theatres. Basically, a bunch of kids die while working in the mine in the early 1900's or whatever. They come back as zombies and haunt the town and kill people. Mom and 2 daughters move into the town where this happens and it goes from there. I enjoyed it for what is was. Did you here abou the Morgan's: 4/10 Meh, not very good. It did have a couple one liners that made me laugh, but it was kind of out there and seemed like it dragged on forever. If you are a Hugh Grant fan, then by all means see it. I was looking for something to watch with my wife yesterday. |
Saturday Night Fever: 7/10
-Yeah, I'd never seen this before a few days ago. Really enjoyed it and it's easy to see why this movie made Travolta a star. I hate him and his friends though - want to gut them each with a fish hook and spill their blood and shit all over their stupid disco suits. Aggrivating fuckers. The Sorcerer's Apprentice - 6/10 Good production value, shitty story. I like the main kid in most of his movies but this one just felt like he was trying way too hard to be that "awkward kid." Nick Cage did his best to bring something interesting to the movie, but it just wasn't enough. He was probably the thing I liked about the movie the most, as the guy could play the role of a paper bag and make it interesting. |
saw men in black 2 for the first time, compared to the first this was a steaming pile of armadillo doody

^ 7/10 Fucking sick movie. I'm surprised Chester of Linkin Park was IN THIS ONE!!! And he has the MOST BRUTAL BOOBY TRAP. A car ready to start on running over his girlfriend underneath the car jack and trying to UNGLUE HIMSELF FROM HIS DRIVER SEAT LIKE A FUCKING SUPERGLUE REALLY DID THE WORKS. Seeing Chester being to peel off the whole back of his skin cos it was soooo sticky was fucking painful to watch. Same goes with the eye gouging traps and the Chainsaw glass cage! Black Swan - 110/100 % and 10/10. Best parts: Natalie masturbating and she had lesbo blowjobs with Mila. I even enjoyed her literal transformation into the movie title itself... Really does live up to its name! I also like the black swan costumes worn by the mysterious guy in her dreams and I liked how The Black Swan is always associated with animalistic evil characteristics of the human psyche. Is it any wonder why the ballet teacher insisted on making her Black Swan character REALLY LET GO all emotional stress and anger and rage.. The ballet soundtrack was fucking overwhelming. You can almost feel the EVIL BLACK SWAN'S PRESENCE like an entity ready to snap and go apeshit on someone. P.S. Did anyone notice Mila's character Lily had a back tattoo that looked like Black swan's wings? http://floxmw.blu.livefilestore.com/...ram%20Yida.jpg aka Someone Behind You = 9/10 Korea's own version of Devil's Advocate meets From Within only this time instead of suicide it's a series of murders committed by different family members in the film. Sometimes even their classmates and teachers turn on this particular woman who seems to be the PRIMARY TARGET... See it for yourself. I won't spoil it for you.. Even though I saw this many times though... Nice movie. |

True Grit - Very entertaining, well made, the best Coen brother dialogue in a long time. Hailee Steinfeld was surprisingly awesome, especially seeing as her character risked being annoying, good time. 8/10
Animal Kingdom - Awesome Australian family crime movie. Felt original and somehow avoided all crime movie cliches. Very stylish and an awesome ensemble cast, ending felt a little clunky though. 8/10 |
Zombieland: 9.5 out of 10. I really liked this movie a lot. I don't know how I went so long without seeing it. I saw it on-demand on Starz and yeah I loved the crap out of it.
|
I saw Black Swan and TRUE GRIT last night. I would give Black Swan an A. Pretty disturbing and kinda predictable. But very well done. I feel like I need to watch it again to pick up on a bunch of parallels. But I don't really want to watch it again I guess. True Grit was incredible. A++++++++++++++

True Grit - 86

Watched Boardwalk Empire over the weekend 9/10

The Town - 8/10. I thought this was damn good. My only complaint would be that I was a bit let down by the climax/ending. It wasn't as satisfying as I had hoped based on the first two acts. The story didn't really take a bad turn, but I think they left soem greatness on the table from the heist angle.
The Other Guys - 7/10. I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would. It didn't look good to me, but I gave it a chance w/ my brother. Maybe I was just in a jolly Christmas mood. Mark Whalberg was painfully unfunny, especially when he "tried", but Will Ferrell and the supporting cast pulled the weight. I haven't enjoyed Ferrell in a long time (maybe since Anchorman), but I dug him here. Michael Keaton was a high point. If someone had told me he was in this, I probably would have seen it sooner. |
expendables 8/10
|
The Town - 9/10
I was able to point out where EVERYTHING is since I'm from Boston. |

never heard of this one....where did you find it? |
Winnebago Man 7/10 A movie that starts as a journey to find the man in the video below. Once found, you get to learn a little more about him. The movie starts and ends strong. Sadly the middle wasn't as exciting. I believe BBC did an hour long version of this movie for one of their series, that may be a better version as it seems like a better length. If your into documentaries and viral videos, pretty interesting none the less.

very true, loved that monologue he had as he was painting the guitar. I hope he is in the 2nd one with a more active role maybe.

Resident Evil:Afterlife 6/10 nice action but kinda drags at some bits.
The American-3/10- good acting but just boring to me |

Never read the best selling novel but damn.. This was a good movie... Not bad for a low budgie Aussie flick.. And some of the complaints are saying that the author of the book AND this movie totally stole Red Dawn storyline. Yes, I've seen Red Dawn it's also similar in plot: Group of teens vs Russian marines.. But in this one, It's more like Chinese invasion... At first, it looked like your typical road trip teen movie but then world war 3 started and all of their parents went missing and being taken to concentration camps. Best part: One of the teens is a total BIBLE THUMPER. At first in the start of the film she says killing enemy soldiers is not what the Bible says but then later in the part, she just fucking kicks ass... Also, the part where she refused to shoot soldiers when they're escaping in the fuel truck and instead PRAYING... FUCKING LOLZ scene.. 9/10. Conclusion: Felt like watching a mixture of Red Dawn, Heroes (minus their superpowers) and Expendables teen edition.. And the ending just screams for 2 more sequels cos I read on IMDB it's still in production. <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/f_KhErNyiq8?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/f_KhErNyiq8?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object> |

Couldn't be arsed to pay attention during it. |
Ratatouille 8/10 Solid film, wasn't blown away though. One of my least favorite Pixar films, but that's not at all a bad thing as there isn't a Pixar film I don't like.
Sherlock Holmes 5/10 Just seemed to drag. Lost interest about halfway through, dunno just couldn't get into it. For those who liked this though, I highly recommend the BBC Sherlock series that takes place in modern times. Big fan of that. |
True Grit - 4 out of 5 (8/10).
A bit slow in the beginning and the ending could have been better but a good western/cowboy style film. |
I'm Still Here
3/10 - practically pointless and not entertaining. Some cool cameos and droplets of poetic beauty but overall it was a waste of time. |
gran torino 8/10
inception 10/10 |
True Grit (2010) - 4.5/5
I know there was some tweaking here and there from the original, but I wish Josh Brolin had a bit more screen time than the whole 10 minutes he had. |
Scott Pilgrim vs the World - Greatest Movie I have ever seen in my life.

Toy Story 3 - 9/10

Dinner For Schmucks - 7/10 again not as good as the hype but when it was funny it had me rolling |
Going The Distance - 64/100
Inception - 89/100 Machete - 74/100 |
Why did Machete get a 74 instead of 75? It's totally a 75.
|
Fine I'll give it a 75 only because Jessica Alba in the shower popped into my head again.
|
Michelle Rodriguez didn't pop into your head at all?
|
Extreme Movie: 7/10. Sort of like the Kentucky Fried Movie of its time about teenage sex. It's got Michael Cera, Matthew Lilliard and Frankie Muniz.
|
The Fighter 9/10
both Wahlberg and Bale were fantastic |
the kids are allright 5/10
|
I was just going to rate that movie. I guess I liked it a lot more than you did.
8.5/10 for me. There's a pivotal scene where Julianne Moore doesn't say a fucking word that's got to be one of the best bits of acting I saw in any 2010 film. She deserves an Oscar nomination but will probably be passed over for her co-star. |
Public Enemies - 8/10
|
http://whysoblu.com/wp-content/uploa...78-Blu-ray.jpg
8/10 Finally saw this because I saw a remake trailer of this version but Ebert himself gave it a 0.0 stars cos it was despicable... That's the whole point of the movie... Rapists and sadists need to be taught a lesson... It really does give a whole new meaning to the expression, "Hell has no fury like a scorned woman." And damn, Camille Keaton is soooooooo hot.. I looked her up and she's not related to Michael or Diane Keaton for that matter. <object width="640" height="385"> <embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/2zU3U-9B3fE?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></object> Remake trailer 2010.. |
Dinner for Schmucks - 6/10
Not as bad a people were saying it was. |
After.Life
6 out of 10 Christina Ricci plays a corpse and is naked for about 30% of the movie.. She was sexy as fuck as a gothy looking corpse. Very interesting plot and pretty original in every way. Kind of slow and not a lot actually happened by way of dramatic play but it was still a fun movie with a good cast. |
The Last Airbender - 72/100; It's actually not horrible like a lot of people made it out to be. I never watched the cartoon so maybe I would feel differently if I had similar to DBZ and the live action movie.
|
It is next in my que...been putting airbender off for a little while..mostly because of horrid reviews. I'll stop pushing it down my list and giver a shot.
|
The Bourne Supremacy - 8.5/10
|
In The Loop - 9/10. Criminally underrated film here, though I understand it was quite well received in England.

The Other Guys - 3 out of 5.
Started out great with the end result of Rock and Samuel L Jackson jumping off of a building but was a bit boring except for certain scenes and jokes until the last 5-10 minutes of the film. |
Salt - 8/10.
Liev Shreiber was terrible in this, but everything else about it was great. |
The Departed - 9/10
Dinner Shmucks - 6/10 |
A-Team - 7/10

8/10... Good creature feature and disaster movie. Why? A tiger on the loose inside the house plus hurricane.. And there's a reason why the tiger was loose.. I won't tell. P.S. Meatloaf had a minor role on this one. He's the circus tiger trainer.. |
Book Of Eli - 6/10

Tron: Legacy in IMAX 3D- 79
Black Swan - 91 Machete - 68 The Fighter - 88 The Social Network - 47 |
Loved the visuals in Tron but the 3D were very minimal. I suppose it's better that way especially if not shot in 3D. Some corny lines but enjoyable.
Black Swan and The Fighter were great. Natalie Portman might win Best Actress. Christian Bale for Supporting Actor. Machete was fun for what it was. I hated The Social Network. I hate biopics in general so I came into this with kind of a closed mind but this was ridiculous. I hate biopics because 99% of the time whatever the movie adaptation is isn't even close to what happened in real life. I dunno. I have a hard time imagining these 3 guys lived the rockstar life portrayed in the movie. (And after reading some of the interviews they gave after the movie was released, I was kinda right) http://img.allvoices.com/thumbs/even...do-saverin.jpg http://cdn.bloginity.com/wp-content/uploads/sp.jpg http://kara.allthingsd.com/files/200...rberg_0043.jpg |
