Just beat a game called Elex. Made by the people who made Gothic and Risen series. It has a really awesome world and premise but it does play a bit janky as most of the companies titles do. The main character is also very uncharismatic and can be a drag sometimes but ironically that is part of the story so it's understandable. All in all I had a pretty good time with it and hope its part of a series like their previous games all were.

Tomorrow or Saturday I'll jump back into Borderlands 3 and do the new DLC. Coming pretty close to getting the Platinum for Red Dead Redemption 2. But, I could use a small break.

Once I'm back at my parents next week, I'll have access to my desktop gaming pc once more, and I need to decide whether to try and complete Dark Souls 3 or buy myself Red Dead Redemption 2. I've been thinking about DS3 a lot lately.

Nioh is def kicking me repeatedly in the satchel. I don't even want to talk about DS3.

I definitely want something challenging, and as I have plenty of free time at the moment, I can deal with getting stuck with a DS3 boss for weeks on end. I might get RD2 for once I complete (hahaha) DS3. |
The early bosses in Nioh are absolute bastards man. The ball and chain oni (cant remember the actual name) took me absolutely ages to kill, the only thing in Dark Souls that personally comes close to that level of dickhead are capra demon and NG+ Four Kings. Even the DLC dragon in DS3 is fairer. The 1 vs 1 NPC maps are also incredibly skewed against you and the recommended levels are way lower than should be recommended.

Theres a bunch of actual dickhead bosses now that the PTSD is coming back. Nue (I think?), that thing can fuck off. Umibozu gave me a hard time but I forgive him because he's the best one.

My gripe with Nioh is how many attacks can one shot you. Makes a lot of trial and error. "Oh you didnt know that kills you? Lol retry nerd."

Playing it now. Feels directionless. Lacks the soul of the original. Stakes are much lower as well. Gameplay is more of the same (and i dont think thats an insult, stick with what works) but if feels like a lifeless version of itself.
Hoping it turns around though. Its not bad so far. Middling. |

Finished the Bounty of Blood DLC for Borderlands 3.
Their best DLC yet, but also felt like their shortest. Back to Red Dead Online. At the pace I'm going, I should juuuuuuuuuuuuust finish that off in time for Ghost of Tsushima. |
Just beat the two DLC campaigns for Resident Evil 7, Not a Hero and Fate of Zoe.
Zoe campaign is a bit frustrating, but really cool as it incoporates stealth and your combat is melee only. Hope we see more of that stuff in Resi 8. Next up I'm probably going to try to get throgh Divinity Original Sin in preparation for Baldur's Gate 3 coming soon. |
I just picked up Katamari Damacy Reroll on the Switch. A cult classic that made it's debut on the PS2. It is so stupid, so weird, and so fun.

Picked up Division 2 again. Almost surreal given the world's climate right now.
The TU10 update is amazing. For the first time, I have an actual ranged, skill build that can get through Heroics. Best part, i just set everyone on fire. It's fun. Bounce between that and AC Odyssey, which is my 2nd fav in the series behind Black Flag. |
I feel like it's kind of crazy that we're this many games in to Assassin's Creed, and we've never gotten one that takes place in Japan with ninjas.

Feel like China is a more likely location than Japan for the series next. Three Kingdoms era seems like a great setting for an AC game.

Finished TLoU2. Well written game with a terrible premise. I could write pages on this game. Its wonderful contradiction. Everything it aims to do it does well its just that all of its goals should have never been attempted in the 1st place.
I hope naughty dog moves to a new IP from here. The character were the draw and there's no story left to tell. That said they tell really good stories so id like to see a new idea from them. |

I just finished Injustice Gods Among Us: Ultimate Edition story mode. It was good, but a few issues.
1) The multiverse gets confusing 2) This is my biggest gripe. They dont even show the scene that made Superman snap!!!! They didnt show what Joker did to him and Lois! How the fuck do you not show that? It's the basis for the entire game! |

Briefly jumped back into Bloodstained: ROTN. Killed all the demons and made it to level 50. All that's left is to fill out the item and shard lists, and rack up 500k in gold. It'll be a bitch, but a good chunk of players notched the platinum.

It's in there already. Also they added something called immersion mode, where there is no gear score and enemies don't have levels.
Which is great because a stealth, tactical shooter with bullet sponge enemies sounds like the drizzling shits. |
Just finished all the main Odyssey storylines in AC Odyssey. That story started so slow but god DAMN it became very good and hard to put down. Enjoyed the mythical beast fights, especially Medusa.

Love how the combat is very punishing tbh. 2 or 3 strikes and you are down for the count, where they will kick you as you slowly die until someone decides to finish you off.

MGS gameplay in open world is fun and novel, but the world is mind numbingly boring. Probably the worst sin an open world game can commit.

I cant get off Mario Maker 2. I have so many switch games now including Witcher 3 and BoTW and i have not played much of them because of Mario Maker 2 and Mario Kart deluxe. I havent even touched Mario Odyssey. The only think i've managed to make it through is Mortal Kombat 11, but I havent gotten the DLC. I'm half way through Y's 8, but it's kinda lost me, but i think its about to get good i just cant quite get back to it.
But yah. Mario Maker 2 and Mario Kart atm. sandersplex is my switch name if you want to be friends. |

I tried Carrion which just hit gamepass. It's a 2d metroidvania style game where you play as a tentacle monster escaping from an underground facility. It uses 16-bit graphics and has a really cool atmosphere.
Movement is kind of crazy and takes a little getting used to. It's very loose, but the idea is to make the controls really feel like you're controlling this amoeba type monster and it succeeds in that regard. Also I say it's a metroidvania but it's honestly a lot more linear than most other games in the genre. It feels labyrinthian, but it's more like Metroid Fusion for example. |
Seems linear at first. You can traverse the entire game after a certain point. If you want to get upgrades, you have to anyway.
Great game, I'm at the last bit and haven't finished it up just yet. Only complaint is when you grow to the "3rd" form, it becomes a bit too big and the controls are wonky AF when trying to do things like hit a switch, or fit into smaller spaces. |
I have that downloaded to play when I finish up Ghost. Seemed like a unique twist on the metroidvania genre and I pretty much love any game of that style.
