I don't think they would because Cain is a name.

Anyone have an opinion on which Gail Kim vs Awesome Kong match was the best? That or just the best Kong match to see?

Speaking of MVP, I still can't believe that WWE bothered to bring him back for Raw 25 just to have him sit in the background in a backstage segment. The Rumble was just days away and he almost certainly would've gotten a really nice reaction as opposed to any number of people in that match where the fans sat on their hands when they entered.
|
Well... I don't have much of an opinion on MVP at Raw 25 but I am interested in knowing what is up with him? I read that he was cut from MLW quietly, I wonder what happened? People seem to not get a long with him well.

And who else is part of AKA with Cain? DC
|
It would be cool to get all those UFC guys in WWE. Will they all just be pushed to the moon right away or what, though?
Also, didn't know that WarGames was an annual thing now. Not mad about it. A casual fan friend of mine was watching Moustache Mountain v. Undisputed Era with me, and he was amazed that wrestlers can go that long without ever taking a drink of water. Is that weird to you guys? If anything, they mock water by spitting it out (HHH). |
I always think about water in long matches, Kenny sometimes takes a powder for a sip.
|
That's why he horrible, he can't even properly hydrate himself /Noid
|
A powder?
|
The muscle contortion of his face is actually the early onset of dehydration someone get Kenny a fucking water!

Speaking of which, I just got access to AXS and watched that 2 out of 3 falls match between Omega and Okada. Loved it. Cornette (and Noid) really should ease up on Omega.
|
The moment near the end after Kenny hit the One Winged Angel but couldn't go for the pin and they ended up just laying next to each other with their heads propped up on the bottom rope for a bit. Fucking fantastic.
|
No fan he was a comedy wrestler 8 years ago. People can't change. FUCK EM
|
Dude that match is the best I've ever seen. It was incredible.
|
It was amazing, each fall was its own match and didn't feel 70 minutes

I got up to watch that whole show live and that match shot me with such an adrenaline boost. I went out for a run after.
|
And I don't think there was a single kickout of a finisher. Crazy concept nowadays.
JR actually pushed the fact that Omega has kicked out of Okada's finisher but Okada hasn't kicked out of Omega's and it wasn't just to build up Okada kicking out of Omega's finisher. |
It added something to Omega going for it so many times. Normally it might be "Why the fuck is he so desperate to hit that move that gets kicked out of 5 times a match?" Instead it made total sense.
|
on the Noid scale that match of the century only has 2.5 out of 4 stars, compared to Tully and Arn versus R & R express from 1986 which garnered 18 out of 4 stars.
|
Wouldn't mind watching Tully and Arn vs R & R Express, tho!
|
of course not.

I sincerely preferred Styles and Cena from the same month. So that "six star match" wasn't even the best for its fucking month for me. I think that's WWE fatigue setting in on people and causing them to overrate anything they find slightly enjoyable (Braun Strowman, Alexa Bliss, Elias, a lot of New Japan, etc.). I'm glad people are finding fun, but I don't accept objective arguments that Kenny Omega is the greatest wrestler in the world. Sorry. He got upstaged by CJ Parker at a recent show. |
Quote:

Seems WWE could be facing a similar PR problem that Kenny Omega had to deal with for the CEO X NJPW event. Same sex offender was reported to have been hanging around NXT during the recent TV tapings there.
Unlike with Omega's claims, WWE might be more aware of this guy due to his girlfriend (Amber Nova) currently works for the company. |

Didn't watch regularly near the end of WCW but I can't imagine there was much to sink his teeth into while calling Viagra on a Pole matches and whatnot.
I always enjoyed Tony. He gets a bad rap. |
He definitely does. People focus in on his work in the dying days of WCW, but he was terrific prior to then.

The thing that makes me love Tony so much is when his podcast came out I quickly realized that he has the most irreverent sense of humor of anyone in the wrestling. He is so quick to make fun of himself. He is honest about when he thinks he was phoning it in as well. What Happened When is by far my favorite podcast, and it's a great way to go back and enjoy WCW with a different much more comical perspective. You'll also find out how much of a fan Tony is of the sport, going back to his youth, which makes his entire career much more meaningful to me. He left with a bad run at the end of WCW but now has this amazing podcast and is doing great work for MLW. Maybe it's my revisionist nostalgia but when I go back and watch 90's WWF/WCW, I'd prefer to listen to Tony any day. JR is so damn angry all the time. Still the best don't get me wrong, but the counter to JR was Tony and he was totally different.

A little thing I've been chewing over in regards to the commentary of Tony Schiavone versus Jim Ross', is that Ross would call shit out when it didn't make sense. He had this "Well, this is going to be bowling shoe ugly" attitude towards matches that didn't work, or angles that didn't make sense. As a result, whether consciously or not, I think fans learnt to "trust" JR. If something sucked, he would let them know, and when something was awesome, the passion was contagious.
It's not that Schiavone can't call or add to things when he needs to. WCW sucked so much that I think beyond simply not caring or being burnt out or whatever, you only have so much cache you can chew through before people stop trusting a word you say. To earn more of that trust from audiences, he would need to point out that most of WCW didn't make sense, and that we were all stupid for not watching the WWF. It turned him into a dishonest used car salesman trying to offload stock from years ago. |
Stephanie McMahon is going to make a "historic announcement" on Raw. Rumors suggest it being an all-woman PPV in September/October. In a perfect world, that would get me excited, because it means that you'd need to have depth and stories in your division. What it will likely mean is Alexa Bliss vs. Ronda Rousey in a rematch, Nia Jax vs. Mickie James, Carmella vs. Charlotte, etc.
|
So the days of December to Dismember 2006 having the lowest buyrate in WWE history are numbered then.

So I had a crown done on a tooth today. Pretty routine work, but I'm selling it at work like I'm Dick Murdoch so they took me off the phones and now I'm spending my day listening to Jim Cornette's Drive Thru and renaming files at my desk.
Just gotta wince every once in a while, talk without opening my mouth and touch the right side of my face. |
Hell yeah dude. I went back to work after getting some work done and kept the cotton in my mouth, and acted like I got thrown off the hell in a cell, even though it was pretty painless.

Those Women's Tag Team Championships look awful.
Also, like most people, I also thought that Sasha & Bayley will be the first to win them. That was my first thought when I saw the image. If they don't win them, then I can assure you that the first team to win them will be either Becky & Naomi or Becky & Charlotte. |

According to Alexa Bliss, the reason why her in-ring skills and match quality haven't improved since getting called up is pretty much due to being a champion is her only source for heel heat and her laziness for bumping for others.
Its pretty much why nobody comes out looking good in a feud with her in the end since everything revolves on her needing to be in title matches and getting the last laugh instead of helping make others look good in the ring. Quote:

I'm really struggling to think of the last truly good year in wrestling. Is it too selective to suggest 2013? Daniel Bryan was killing it in six-man tags against The Shield. SummerSlam 2013 was Cena vs. Bryan and Punk vs. Brock. WrestleMania drew money because you had The Rock there, even though the card felt disjointed. Maybe it's hard to call it a successful year, per se, but there was a lot of good I'd kill for now. |
The WWE does not have the depth to pull off Women's Tag Team Titles.

Nobody cares about Women's wrestling. They are trying to make them way more important than they are.
