WWE's use of pyro makes sense. Edge and Batista had rock entrances with loud and fast booms and bangs. Ric Flair's WM24 pyro was graceful and awe-inspiring. They don't over-do it (except for Batista) and it seems special. I always love watching the WM pyro opening for its own appeal, and am disappointed when they don't do a pyro open.

James Steele 07-09-2015 03:52 PM

For example, the pyro going off at the end of WM31 made Seth Rollins' moment even more memorable. Imagine his celebration at the end without the scene of all the pyro going off. It just wouldn't have been as memorable.

Didn't like when they gave Lesnar pyro in 03

That was awesome. Think about how awesome of a heel you have to be to get people to boo pyro.

Anybody Thrilla 07-09-2015 04:09 PM

That JBL entrance is hilarious.

Kinda touching on two themes mentioned in the last page of posts or so;

What exactly are they doing with Harper and Rowan now they've put them back together? They haven't been on Raw the last few weeks, right?

I totally understand CK's frustration with the product, but I'm a Brand Split fan/jackoff.

Cool King 07-09-2015 05:22 PM

Last I heard, Rowan tore his bicep, so Harper & Rowan are on hold at the moment.

Lock Jaw 07-09-2015 05:22 PM

Rowan got injured... Don't remember how long he is out for....

XL 07-09-2015 05:23 PM

Right, ok. Still, I could point out a dozen guys they could do something with but chose not too.

Anybody Thrilla 07-09-2015 06:16 PM

Rowan sucks a little bit anyway. Can't they just let Harper run solo again?

Sepholio 07-09-2015 06:43 PM

I really thought they were building to Harper/Rowan vs The Dudley Boyz for SS or something. Kinda bummed Rowan is hurt. They make a great tag team tbh. They should have went over the Uso's when they had that epic 3 month feud.

Anybody Thrilla 07-09-2015 06:59 PM

They did have some really great matches with the Usos. I kinda feel bad for that Rowan sucks comment now, because he's at least capable of being in some really good matches.

ron the dial 07-09-2015 07:03 PM

rowan is great in a tag team, but i don't see him being able to have a solid singles run. it's too bad he got injured, because harper & rowan would be a great team for a face/underdog team to take the titles off of and look like a million bucks.

I to this day don't understand how people don't think that character was incredible. He was such an amazing heel.

Anybody Thrilla 07-09-2015 07:38 PM

I have no issue with his character. He was fun. Watching most of his matches was like drinking doo doo water, though.

Savio 07-09-2015 08:08 PM

JBL was an awesome heel. Was made WWE champ a bit too quick though.

#1-norm-fan 07-09-2015 08:09 PM

The kinda short length of his run is the only thing keeping me from proclaiming JBL as one of the greatest heels ever. He was fucking amazing.

Anybody Thrilla 07-09-2015 08:19 PM

I think his best work was as Justin Hawk Bradshaw.

Bad News Gertner 07-09-2015 08:20 PM

He's by far my favourite wrestler of all time

Savio 07-09-2015 08:31 PM

Would have liked to see a feud with him and Hassan even though they were both heels.

John Laurinaitis worked as the producer and head agent for WWE's recent tour of Tokyo, including the "Beast In The East" WWE Network special.

Laurinaitis is the one who came up with the idea to use streamers before the NXT Title Match with Finn Balor and Kevin Owens with the idea it would give the show a unique Japanese flavor. Laurinaitis also booked the pre-match ceremony where the women in kimonos presented flowers to both Balor and Owens.

WWE did send a production crew to Tokyo to air the show but they saved on costs by not using the normal setup and production that they use for pay-per-view events.

The live WWE Network special was considered to be a major success. WWE officials are already looking at doing more Network-exclusive specials, likely in better timeslots as this show began at 5:30am EST.

Eric Young, Bobby Roode and other TNA stars are being sent to the GFW TV tapings for the angle. Young will also be working this weekend's GFW live events to confront Jeff Jarrett. Jarrett wanted Matt Hardy to be one of the TNA stars sent for the angle but at last word the deal wasn't confirmed yet. GFW stars confirmed for the GFW tapings include PJ Black (Justin Gabriel), Nick Aldis (Magnus), Chris Mordetzky (Chris Masters), IWGP Jr. Champion Kushida, Chris Sabin, Sonjay Dutt, Sanada, Mickie James and Lei'D Tapa. It's possible some of these GFW stars will work the TNA tapings that week.

After surgery, he was told by doctors that because the injury he suffered was so high in the neck, in most cases, such an injury would be fatal. The only reason Kidd survived is because he is an athlete with a very muscular neck. As reported, Kidd's surgery resulted in him having 16 staples, four screws and a rod put into his neck.

The North American Wrestling Rankings blog reported the following on Sheamus reaching a new milestone:

"When Sheamus defeated Roman Reigns by countout on the 7/6/15 episode of Raw it was his 200th televised singles victory! The Celtic Warrior is the first wrestler to win 200 tv matches!!! [He was just the 4th wrestler to win 100 matches back on 8/3/12]. Others nearing this milestone [as of 7/8/15] are Randy Orton with 197 wins and John Cena with 188."
Small catch to the record since according to r/SquaredCircle, its only counting wins since 2006 either because the blog was lazy or some other reason. Also helping is that he's one of the few big name guys who wrestles on both Smackdown and RAW almost every week which pads his numbers. http://www.reddit.com/r/SquaredCircl..._a_new_record/

Some other sheet news includes:
  • During WWE's NXT panel at Comic Con, Regal revealed the main event for the next NXT special in Brooklyn, NY will be Balor vs Owens for the NXT Title.
  • GFW announced their first official show will be called GFW Amped. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xf8faMrfn78
  • GFW might have also ditched the 6-sided ring from now on in favor of a traditional ring based on recent show photos. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CJgw5lRUwAAHwXW.jpg
  • For those in the UK, Revolution Pro Wrestling announced their October 3rd show will feature Will Ospreay vs Kazuchika Okada.

So GFW is just TNA now. That didn't take long.

#1-norm-fan 07-09-2015 11:48 PM

The ditched the 6-sided ring. That's very good news. Hopefully it never comes back once TNA is gone.

Good job spoiling Owens/Cena there Regal. No way Owens is back on NXT fighting for the title if he wins the US title. So I guess we all know Cena will walk out with the strap.

Not yet and it looks like the bulk of their funding needed won't arrive until that happens. Right now they are just planning to tape some pilot episodes in hopes a network picks them up in the near future.

Between WWE getting a poor new tv deal and TNA's own screw ups with the networks, going to be a lot harder for GFW to get anything decent. ROH lucked out that their parent company has its own tv network so every new deal just adds more exposure and money to what they already have.
