Anybody Thrilla 06-23-2018 01:36 PM

Puke Hogan literally ripping a blood-soaked Iraqi flag in half. What a crazy time.

One thing I've been noticing about this era looking back is how when people get pinned, they still tend to kick out a little AFTER the three count, like they were still trying. Seems more realistic. I'd like to see more of that sort of thing today.

Anybody Thrilla 06-23-2018 01:38 PM

There was some not very attractive chick in a blue dress who was both crying her eyes out at the Savage/Elizabeth reunion and going crazy when Hogan won. I'm sure that night was the time of her life, and my heart smiles for her. Whoever she is.

Anybody Thrilla 06-23-2018 01:39 PM

WM8 starting now. Looking forward to Flair/Hogan and Papa Shango being right on time.

Puke Hogan?

Shit, ABT, are you now an 8 year old?

Hennan calling Reba McIntyre Tito Santana's siter. "Arriba McIntyre". What a legend.

That's what Slaughter was calling him throughout this feud. I was seven at the time though, yes.

I'm not sure anything in life will ever make me as happy as hearing Bobby Heenan marking out for HBK and whistling his theme song. Really did SO much for helping him get over, I think.

Also, here's Sherri being a legend again. Soooooo good.

My age follows the Wrestlemanias. It's a nice setup for such a big fan. I'm 35 now, but it'll be Wrestlemania 35 before I'm 36, ya know?

I found this terribly unsettling at the time. The Warrior was my absolute favorite. Papa Shango was spooky AF.

Undertaker's second WM match against Jake Roberts. Lemme see how this holds up.

Its seen by a lot of people as a selfish face saving move by the person eating the pin.

I think it could depend on the finish. Kicking out of a roll up as such as opposed to a finisher, maybe.

Anybody Thrilla 06-23-2018 02:05 PM

Saying this as I watch the Undertaker sit up after a DDT from Jake Roberts. No idea why he didn't cover right away.

Yes, I know I'm the only one watching this right now. Maybe in the world.

Anybody Thrilla 06-23-2018 02:06 PM

Man, Jake could have ended the streak at one win had he just made a fucking cover.

Oh snap, I almost forgot about Piper v. Hart on this card too. I might end up watching this whole show.

Anybody Thrilla 06-23-2018 02:09 PM

Man, Piper was the best promo.

Anybody Thrilla 06-23-2018 02:14 PM

Heenan mentioning taking Bret Hart out back and waffling him with a tire iron. I wonder if Christopher Walken remembers this match.

Damian Rey 2.0 06-23-2018 02:17 PM

The most unsettling thing i've EVER seen in wwe was the Tommy Dream, Undertaker spit cup segment. Even undertaker looked like he was legitimately ready to throw up at one point. The most unsettling part is this segment looked entirely legit. The fucking cup was clear so not many ways of faking it. :nono:

There are definitely ways they could have faked it. Not sure if they did though. Dreamer may just give 0 fucks.

Cool King 06-23-2018 05:10 PM

I was pretty into Dreamer around that time.

I vividly remember him drinking Undertaker's tobacco spit, but I also remember a vignette of him sharing a toothbrush with his dog.

The liquid in the cup didn't look like dip spit to me. Taker taking his dip out and putting it in the cup was pretty real though. Shop teacher in high school would make you drink your spit bottel if he found it or you dipping. Seen a few have to do that.

Am watching Living Dangerously '99 and it's great. The RVD/Lynn match was very much structured like an Omega/Okada match. So far everything else is good too, which is rare usually when I watch ECW I just see the flaws. But the work in the matches is good and Joey Styles is great at carrying the story.

According to the Observer, Nia Jax has serious heat with WWE management over her recent antics on social media. Its been rumored she's helping spread the rumors of Alexa Bliss sleeping with someone in management for why she constantly gets big pushes.

Meltzer checked up on those rumors regarding Bliss and found out Nia unfriending Bliss on social media and liking tweets spreading the sleeping rumor being true. Wasn't able to confirm Nia being the origin of the rumors based on something supposedly posted on Instagram.

Mr. Nerfect 06-24-2018 05:06 AM

The only reason Nia has a job is because she's The Rock's cousin. I hope she gets Big Cass'd.

That is disheartening. Nia and Alexa were adorable (sorry Dale) together. Reminded me of my BFF from the motherland. We were inseparable until "London Calling" and he started sleeping with Kevin Dunn.

She's #PrettyGood. But I'm a #Workrate and #Realism mark, and she just comes across (in the ring) as a girl playing wrestler. Very competent performer...similar to the Miz. She def deserves her spot though, far more than Nia who's sloppy and unathletic.

Didn't Nia unfriend Bliss on social media for kayfabe reasons back when the two were working up to their WrestleMania match?

Social media is a big thing for the WWE, so I wouldn't be too surprised if Nia Jax makes some sort of reference to the rumour on Raw or whatever.

Mr. Nerfect 06-24-2018 05:48 PM

I'm with The Dastardly Menace on this one. I think Alexa is overrated in every sense, except for looks, except when it comes to looking tough. She's smoking, but has that "Diva" vibe that is hard to take seriously. That being said, I've always said that she clearly works very hard and has the right attitude to continue getting the opportunities she's been getting off the back of how Vince and Kevin probably both want to fuck her.

Nia isn't very good either. In fact, she's worse than Bliss in almost every category. I don't even like her look. Way too glossy to be "menacing." Her personality is too soft to buy vicious. And it's fairly obvious why and how she is in the position she is in.

I said I hope she gets Big Cass'd for that bullshit, but I don't think she will. She will get opportunities for as long as she wants them. She may get a tap on the shoulder and sent to behavior management courses or whatever to create the appearance of things being done. But she'll have to take herself out, which I was hoping was the reason behind the rush to Rousey at Money in the Bank.

Yes although they were also playing up their Mania storyline when it happened. This time it seems to be something Nia is doing on her own and a lot less playful in tone.

One of my least favorite characters in wrestling history is Justin Creadible, he sucked in every way, I can't understand why Paul pushed him like he did.

Would Rock really care if she was let go honestly? How close are they exactly? I could see where folks in charge might not want to piss Rock off or burn a very valuable bridge there, but is that based on a (false?) assumption that Rock would actually care or hold it against them?

I have several cousinsm, and because I'm not close with them, I don't think I'd go to bat for and certainly can't imagine holding a grudge against a 3rd party for firing.

She's an actual cousin of him unlike Reigns which is more by association via the huge Samoan family line. He's also been a lot more supportive of her on social media than he ever was with Reigns.

Doubt he'd get involved or be upset at her getting punished if the recent rumors are true but supposedly he got involved the last time she had problems in the WWE.

Anybody Thrilla 06-25-2018 01:25 PM

Not really interested in watching Raw tonight. What's the hook for tonights show?

Anybody Thrilla 06-25-2018 07:32 PM

Rollins/Ziggler rematch. Should be good. I thought it was your turn to make the Raw thread?

Nick Gage is wrestling Meng in August. What a time to be alive.

Anybody Thrilla 06-25-2018 11:45 PM
