More than likely he'll come out of this a new major villain.
I dunno about that.
Marvel pussed out on the scarlet witch. Still pissed they redeemed her, when she could have been a great new addition to the Avengers rogues gallery. |
If Magneto can flip/flop why not Cyke. He has heat as it is.
I'm (as always) behind with my comics. Why so much heat on Summers?
He's a dick.
He's always been a dick, too. It's not just his recent doings.

New x-men? Grant Morrison? Epic destruction of New York that was so awesome that it was emulated in X-men 3: Last Stand? Far too bold for Quesada, apparently. Love marvel, and will always prefer it over DC, but they need to grow a set, ffs. |

http://media.comicbookmovie.com/imag...res/49271L.jpg These cartoons will debut next Summer and expand on the 'Disney-verse' started in Ultimate Spider-Man. I'm only now starting to accept USM, but AA will be produced by Man of Action (Ben 10), and Paul Dini is working on HAoS. That's some quality staff there. Clark Gregg, everybody's favorite SHILD agent, will be in the pilot of the SHIELD TV series. Whether this retcons his death or will be a flashback is not revealed. He is currently playing an undercover agent in USM. |
They canceled EMH for that? Bastards.
The fuck they do to A-Bomb?
Have him voiced by Seth Green.
Looks shit

video. Axel Alonso talks about Marvel NoW! and the end of A vs X. |
Ant-Man movie finally gets a release date of November 6, 2015. That's after Avengers 2.
That's considered Phase Three then?
I suppose so.
Doesn't even have to be part of any "Phase". Could just be a standalone with no references or ties to the larger universe. Then, only if it is successful, they can bring in Ant-Man into the bigger picture.

CM Punk to write the introduction to the Avengers vs X-Men collection: http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/2...ction/1634211/

I am assuming that Hank Pym/Ant-Man will be making his debut slowly over the course of the next few films or possibly just be in Avengers 2. Giving people a reason to see his stand alone movie is key. Ant-Man is a great character to us, who know him and what he has done...But to an average movie-goer they will need some reassurance this isn't a spoof hero flick due to the corny name.
I assume he will show up as a scientist if Thor ventures to earth in the new film and maybe the same in Cap 2 and definately see an appearance if not a co-starring role in Avengers 2. Any leads on who is playing Hank? And please don't say Ryan Reynolds. |
Last I heard, Hank Pym wasn't even the main character. He was gonna be in it in flashbacks, but Ant-Man would be either Scott Lang or Eric O'Grady.
Coulson is apparently not only in the pilot of the SHIELD series, but apparently its main character.
One sec, I'll find a source on that. |

Also lol @ that Avengers cartoon. "All your favourites from the movie, plus Falcon, I guess"
Ultron for phase 3 then, one would assume.
If Coulson returns with the explanation of being Vision, or having used a LMD, this would point to Ultron as a Phase Three villain, especially since Hank Pym may debut in that era of the MCU.
This is assuming Marvel thought that far ahead, but it sorta lines up. |
We're talking a movie series getting into 10+ years of length at Phase Three. I'm thinking it'll be reboot/recast city after Avengers 2.
And to be honest, I rather Phase 3 be the final act of the greatest experiment in comic book movies (nay, action movies in general), and going out with Avengers 3: Civil War. Ultron's cool but seriously, nothing can be as epic as that. And into the future, the next step is universal crossovers. Avengers/JLA 2021? |
Ultron is the penultimate villain, for the avengers. More so than even Thanos, despite his greater power.
Speaking as someone who has read EVERY issue of avengers ever, it has to end with him. Civil War was epic, but Avengers fans know that whenever Ultron shows up...hell, when even his name is mentioned, the entire atmosphere of the story changes. It's unexplainable really, but an Ultron story in Avengers just has a different feel from everything else. It's a always a total "shit just got real" moment whenever he shows up, and not even the civil war concept can match it, imo. |
Team Captain America vs Team Iron Man. Big screen. I'm there.

Avengers Assemble #8 was a slight step up from #7....Pretty let down with how the run ended. Seemed called in like it was nothing.

I never did see The Amazing Spider-Man. There seems to be an early torrent out. Downloading now. Will let you know my very important thoughts.
It was "ok". Nothing great. Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2 are definitely better.
Woodley is a despicable actress. Not happy news.
I liked The Amazing Spider-Man way better than any of the other ones

I was quite a fan of Amazing Spider-Man. The actors are way better, Emma's Gwen is such a better love interest than Dunst's MJ, and Spidey actually makes quips while fighting. What's not to love?
I prefer the Toby Tobey Maguire movies. Excpet for Spider-Man 3.
It was quite good though. |
Amazing wasn't quite as fun, but it captured the modern comics better.
With the Young Justice episode posted a while back I was inspired by that and the posting of the Little League comics to maybe begin posting embeds of entire episodes of Marvel/DC 'toons from a very reliable site I've been using for a while now. How would you gentlemen feel about evolving the comic threads to be deposits of the latest cartoons and even live-action shows (Arrow, etc) when uploads are found?
So I just got a Kindle Touch as a gift from my boss, does anyone know of any way for me to put comics on this thing? Sorry for cutting off any ongoing conversations, just didn't feel like making a thread
p.s. tried the cbr to zip file image blah blah blah thing didn't work. |
Is it a Kindle Fire? Regular Kindles can only read ebook files. Don't think you can put comics on them.
Nah its a regular kindle i guess...says it could read pdfs but I guess id have to pinch and zoom or some shit on each fucking panel which sounds awful blahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh1stworldproblemssfvgt4rwes
Yeah PDF reading is no fun on this things.
I think I heard Kindles now have some kind of comic support, but I have no idea how they work. Probably better sticking to books though, can't imagine reading a comic on a Kindle is much fun.
Ming-Na Wen, formerly from ER and Stargate Universe, will play a "soulful" and "damaged" pilot named Melinda May in Joss Whedon's new S.H.I.E.L.D. TV show. Melinda May is described as "an ace pilot, a weapons expert and a soldier who can - and has - gone beyond the call of duty." And apparently she's the character who was originally named Special Agent Althea Rice, aka the Cavalry, in the first casting breakdown. Also, judging from some of the reports out there, it sounds like the late Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) might only be in the show's pilot, not an ongoing character.
The Wolverine is NOT a prequel, actually taking place after The Last Stand, with Logan dealing with Jean Grey's death and the X-Men apparently disbanding. Dealing with immortality seems to be the director's go-to theme. Even with this info, it seems there will be flashbacks in the movie since we know there were WWII sets, and then there's this:

Damn that sucks....I just hope his reason wasn't a shitty script.
I'm pretty sure he wrote the script
Makes it even more shocking....and sad.
Some dude named "Frank Grillo" has apparently been cast to play Crossbones in the Captain America sequel.
Cool.
Hot. A respectable and slightly obvious replacement.
Nick Fury, Maria Hill, and Black Widow will appear in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
I for one am shocked by that news.
Good chance Jamie Foxx is going to play Elektro in ASM2.
lol Oh yeah, Jamie Foxx is definitely Elektro. Webb should work on his vagaries.
With the release of several of the Marvel NOW! comics I'm surprised this thread is so quiet.
I just got FF, All New X Men, Thor, Avengers Assemble 9, Deadpool all part of NOW
and picked up Gambit #5 and Marvel Universe vs Avengers 2. Fun week at the comic store. |
I dont like the writers for the new deadpool.... not anywhere near as funny. He doesnt have any of the other personality boxes that hes talking to and its written like the character is intentionally trying to be silly rather than him being silly because hes crazy
issue 1. Give it a chance. I haven't had time to read it yet, though. I love Brian Posehn in just about everything...i'm actually very excited for this.
yea but I mean the way daniel way did it was awesome... at least hes stil writing him in thunderbolts

I'm all for creative license and making a character look more "real to life" but I don't like the look. In this case I preferred the comic version.
Doesn't look that bad, to be honest. :y:
I would have liked the hair but it's cool.
Ugh. Not liking a lot of the new Marvel Now stuff. All New X-men and Uncanny Avengers showed promise, but got really stupid by the end.
Fantastic Four was only decent. Dislike the art. Future Foundation was better. Iron Man and Red She Hulk are good. Enough to keep me interested. Thor and Wolverine And the X-men both continue to be excellent. Reavant, if you're looking for comedy, Wolverine and the X-men is the way to go. Issue 19 in particular had me laughing out loud. Everything else sucks. |
Well I guess Marvel settled the mystery of Dog (Wolverine Origin) being Sabretooth. Dog returns as a new villain. Stupid. I liked the idea of Wolverine and Creed being brothers (and so did Fox). Whatever.
Quote:

Does Fox control the X-men franchise indefinitely or will Disney get it at some point in the future?
They gave it pretty much as long as they have Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. He's their star.
Quote:

That was fine by me. Creed seemed like a dick since childhood and he had some degree of influence on a traumatized James enough to make him his road dog. Pun intended.
Doc Oct's a dick.
Someone fill me in with the rest of the story?
Well, spider man is a good guy.....
Any of you guys read Matt Fraction's Casanova? It's really good.
Quote:
And aside from all the nitpicky stuff it explained about James' mannerisms and speech habits, it explained and backed up one major point... HIS HEALING FACTOR AFFECTS HIS MIND AS WELL AS HIS BODY! Didn't need some stupid Adamantium bullet shoehorned in for that shit. Kinda worried that, if Dog is a separate character, they'll make him some hybrid of Sabertooth and the "other brother". |
That doesn't seem to oppose at all.
Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen to return in Days of Future Past! Along with the First Class cast, and Hugh Jackman is likely.
This is going to be fucking huge. |
Awesome.

The Whedon fanboy in me is still hoping he casts one or two of his usual suspects. |
I give up trying to understand if First Class was a prequel or a reboot.
Both.
a Preboot if you will
Like the recent Star Trek. Very smart, really.
lol it's not as smart as the star trek reboot. They actually gave a reason for the star trek reboot with the time traveling.
For Wolverine and First Class they just didn't give a shit about inconsistencies. Not that I'm really bothered by it, as said inconsistencies are minor. |
Not as smart but it's doing the job. Actually very similar to how Marvel handles their universe in the comics. No reboots per se but something in the middle.
