"Spice Girls 4 Life"

"I Love Jennifer Aniston"

"I Love Britney Spears"

It took a while of scrolling through the signs but I'm happy to see the "Goldust Raped My Dad" sign is there.

That's probably one of my favourite signs.

Apparently the "CM" in CM Punk's name stands for Chick Magnet.

Based on reports from others covering the case, the opposite seems more likely.

Most damaging stuff revealed so far involves WWE's doctor possibly violating medical rules and could be risking his license. Also the blunder of him only going after emotional damages instead of libel damages while admitting he hasn't been affected rep-wise or emotional wise from Punk's claims.

Worst thing from Punk's side so far was discrepancies in the size of the cyst and issues with how the Rumble match occurred.

This match could Main Event ROH any day of the week. Also, In case you ever wondered why I refer to Waltman as the original Indy Darling, here is a small part of the reason why.

Bad News Gertner 06-02-2018 07:25 AM

He, Cactus Jack, Eddie Gilbert and Chris Chavis (Tatanka) were your first wave of guys tearing it up on the indie scene

Ol Dirty Dastard 06-02-2018 08:14 AM

How come tatanka stank when he came to WWF?

Bad News Gertner 06-02-2018 08:28 AM

He was pretty over for a while . If you go back and look at all the Wrestling mags from the early 90's, Tatanka was the hottest prospect in the Indies. Gilbert and Jack had the hottest feud in the Indies and Waltman was the new young high flyer

He had a good run for a couple of years - especially the UNDEFEATED TATANKA... but he never had a really good match.

Jordan 06-02-2018 09:20 AM

Yeah unless they were going to pair him in a feud with Ric Flair he wasn't going to be having great matches with anyone. I mean, HBK couldn't get a good one out of him. I always loved Tatanka's look. He was huge, and had that Bam Bam Bigelow quality of not being a good speaker, but a very passionate promo. He was very over during his undefeated streak.

Ol Dirty Dastard 06-02-2018 09:24 AM

Oh yeah the one good match he had was with Bam Bam at Rumble 94.

Interesting. I haven't really kept up with this case.

Because defamation (libel and slander) requires a false statement of fact, this could mean, at least potentially, that nothing Punk said about the doctor or what the doctor did was false.

Or it could be that the doctor or his attorney(s) simply chose not file a defamation claim, for whatever reason. That's possible, but seems unlikely if Punk publicly lied about the doctor.

Jordan 06-03-2018 10:39 AM

The lawsuit a goddamn was let of taxpayer money and should have never gotten to trial. WWE likely told Aman they would back him through the case financially and Punk is so stubborn he couldn’t walk away and leave the past behind him. Best case scenario out of this is Punk loses a lot of money and returns to pro wrestling as an Indy property or works for NJPW.

Cool King 06-03-2018 10:50 AM

I always like it when I'm watching TV and something I can relate to wrestling just happens to come up.

For example, my uncle was watching an old episode of The Bill from 2000 yesterday and there was a character that kept getting mentioned called Colin Delaney and there was also a scene in a cafe where the radio was playing the lyrical version of Chris Jericho's WCW theme.

Cool King 06-03-2018 10:50 AM

Also, my mum sometimes watches old episodes of 60 Minute Makeover at the weekend and the programme sometimes uses Rosa Mendes' and Lance Cade's old themes.

Shadrick 06-03-2018 12:49 PM

I cannot.

Not only do I remember that Mark Henry theme, I remember it was weirdly used in tv bumps and commercials (along with The Hardyz and both the Hardcore Holly themes), the shitty "beefcakes" meme it spawned, AND the awful "remix" they did to it because of some uncleared samples or some shit. Thankfully that one didn't last long since he got hurt... not saying it was good he got hurt, but it was a good way to trash that shit theme.

Bonus points on that Vito post also containing Chrisian's entrance. Too bad this was well after it was Shinsuke'd to prevent him from getting cheered for his awesome theme.

DaveWadding 06-03-2018 11:38 PM

Pretty gobsmacked by the end of the AAA PPV.

1st,I was under the impression that it was supposed to be Dr. Wagner vs. Rey Mysterio for the title, but Jeff Jarrett is there for some reason. I guess he came back mid show and demanded a title shot? Who in their right mind gives Jeff freaking Jarrett a title shot on his first night back?

2nd, the ref is doing heelish things. Counting slow for Wagner and fast for Jarrett, whatever. Wagner clocks him.

Out runs Fake La Parka in a ref shirt, argues with Wagner, clocks him and fast counts Jarrett as the new champ.

Fake La Parka unmasks and it's Konnan. I guess Konnan is re-debuting.

Vampiro comes out, followed by Jarrett's stable. Konnan, Jarrett and the stable beat down Vampiro, Wagner, and Mysterio.

FENIX COMES OUT MAKING HIS RETURN TO AAA. Fenix hasn't worked in AAA for like a year because AAA is a shit promotion. Fenix cleans house because he's the shit and the overarching thread of this whole thing is that is gonna be Fenix vs. Jarrett for the title.

DaveWadding 06-03-2018 11:40 PM

And I'm just like "who let Vince Russo book this?"

Emperor Smeat 06-04-2018 12:01 AM

Stuff like that has pretty much been the reason why CMLL is usually seen as the better of the two for the past several years in Mexico.

DaveWadding 06-04-2018 12:09 AM

I'm not surprised, because I've come to expect clusterfuckery from AAA. This was just some next level shit.

Ive never really tried with CMLL because I pretty much don't know ANYONE. I know about 75% of the people on an AAA card between LU, Americans, and reading Wikipedia.

Emperor Smeat 06-04-2018 12:35 AM

Think I''ve only watched a couple shows at most and mostly know Dragon Lee and Gran Metalik from there because they also work in other companies.

Seen a few more shows from AAA because Univision airs their shows on tv here I think. Majority from the short period years ago when I was really hooked on lucha wrestling. Now just watch Lucha Underground for my lucha needs.

I don't really like AAA or CMLL. I have sat through a few full shows of each and the random booking and "car crash" style of AAA doesn't appeal to me. Hanging onto old TNA and WCW type gimmick booking. Also for me, a card full of Lucha Libre is overkill on cool arm drags (who the fuck would ever use this in combat) and topes. Just too much for me.

I dreamt that Jim Cornette, Jim Duggan, Kevin Nash and Sgt. Slaughter had decided to create a new podcast in which they all pretended it was 1996 and discussed the issues of the day. They all had to stay in their 1996 mindsets, and it would involve plenty of angry back-and-forth between Cornette and Nash over the Curtain Call incident, while Slaughter acted as a mediator and Duggan haphazardly tried to tow the WCW company line. As my dreams go, it was surprisingly detailed.

Take her to get some work on that Khali like chin to go undercover.

I am guessing he was going for Bam Bam Bigelow, but someone didn't tell him the fire on his head was a tattoo. :shifty:

Also, someone should have told him about his plan out loud. Maybe then he would have realized it was a stupid plan, and he didn't have to realize this while his scalp started burning.

OHNOOOOO, OHNOOOO, OH NO!!!

I will. I watched season 1 and 2 and then got to busy and uninterested when season 3 came out so I need to watch that. Is there anywhere you can stream season 3 without buying it outright from itunes?

Oddly enough, as far as any dumbassery of setting yourself on fire goes, it seemed like he planned, practiced, and had done this before... and that his ear catching fire was an unexpected wrinkle.

This should be seen by more people. LOL there are TWO people there that aren't "working" the show.

The official statement right now is that season 3 will make it to Netflix after season 4 starts in a couple of weeks.

Stephanie McMahon was not at Raw this week because the company is WWE is campaigning for an Emmy Award nomination.

WWE has invited members of the media for a big event on Wednesday and names like Paul “Triple H” Levesque, Shawn Michaels, Roman Reigns, Ronda Rousey, and The Bella Twins are scheduled to be there.

There will be a red carpet event with private screenings of select WWE shows. The shows that will be on display include the Raw 25th anniversary special, the WWE Mixed Match Challenge that aired on Facebook Watch and the WWE 24: Empowered documentary that aired on the WWE Network.

Hollywood has looked down on wrestling but perceptions have changed in recent years and the signing of Rousey has helped WWE make some big business moves this year, including massive TV deals with NBCUniversal and Fox. Hardcore fans may not agree with WWE’s PG direction but it’s hard to argue that it hasn’t helped the company become more accepted in the media.

The event will take place at the Wolf Theatre at Saban Media Center Television Academy and it will be streamed live at 7 pm pacific/10 pm eastern at emmys.com. Only Television Academy National Active Members and their guests will be allowed to attend.
LMFAO

Anybody Thrilla 06-05-2018 03:27 PM

Did they not watch their own 25th anniversary special?

slik 06-05-2018 04:02 PM

The 25th Anniversary was really bad

Nothing about Kevin Dunn's production for the weekly series screams "technical emmy' either. Great camera/production for WrestleMania, absolutely -- RAW, absolutely not.

Vastardikai 06-05-2018 09:29 PM

Maybe they will win the Emmy, and that will allow Kevin Dunn to finally fuck off for good.

Mr. Nerfect 06-06-2018 01:18 AM

Holy shit and LOL at WWE going for an Emmy. Their stuff is "awful." I have not seen "Empowered." Maybe that has a chance at...something?

Lock Jaw 06-06-2018 01:22 AM

There are better WWE 24 specials, but that one is about women so it does have a slightly better chance. (But realistically no chance)

Emperor Smeat 06-06-2018 03:23 AM

The "Empowered" 24 special was good but like Lock Jaw mentioned, they have other WWE 24 specials and documentaries that were better overall like the Bruno one for choices.

I'd assume they picked it solely to pat themselves on the back and boost the Women's Revolution narrative they keep pushing. Having it be nominated for an Emmy just adds more boasting and spin by the WWE even if they don't win in the end.

And from the "Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in" file:

They had the press conference to announce the main event of TripleMania (AAA's WM) that they've hinted as being a 4 way mask match with the only 2 people announced being AAA regulars Psycho Clown and El Hijo de Fantasma. At the press conference, they announced that the other 2 people are LA FUCKING PARK and Pentagod.

Hard for me to believe that one of those 4 guys is losing his mask. I'm 100% intrigued.

DaveWadding 06-06-2018 06:51 AM

LA Park is scheduled to be in the main event of both TripleMania and CMLL's Aniversario show, which is the Mexican equivalent of main eventing Wrestlemania and Starrcade in the same year.

#1-norm-fan 06-06-2018 10:42 AM

Holy fuck @ that Emmy news. This company is all kinds of delusional.

Ol Dirty Dastard 06-06-2018 10:44 AM

Maybe they can buy one? Perhaps they have an inside scoop on some greased pockets?
