I think I'll give watching golf a try today.

Bad News Gertner 06-16-2013 09:53 AM

R.A Dickey makes me nervous when he pitches. Kept waiting for the Rangers to have a huge inning, but it didn't happen.

This is legitimately the worst Mets team I've ever seen. They've had worse teams, but it's the worst since I've been watching.

Evil Vito 06-16-2013 05:03 PM

Thank god for Carlos MarmLOL

DaveWadding 06-16-2013 05:05 PM

Carlos Marmlol would be PERFECT on this Mets team.

RoXer 06-16-2013 08:18 PM

What the hell is going on in San Diego?

RoXer 06-16-2013 08:19 PM

The west is difficult enough as it is without the Rockies and Padres screwing everything up

ClockShot 06-16-2013 09:22 PM

Dear Boss,

I know you're probably doing backflips and swearing like a motherfucker upstairs on how this road trip went. But if there's anyway you can fly down and take possession of Joe Girardi and rip the Yankees a new asshole or 5, I think we would all be thankful for it and would probably give them a reason to play.

Your loyal denizen of The Empire,

Clockshot.

Bad News Gertner 06-16-2013 10:13 PM

Jays sweep the Rangers behind 7 shout out innings from Wang of all people. Lind and Rasmus go yard again. Adam Lind is the hottest hitter in baseball. There's two sentances I never thought id type.

Supreme Olajuwon 06-16-2013 11:43 PM

Cardinals, Reds, Pirates have the 3 best records in baseball.

Come on, rest of baseball.

Boomer 06-17-2013 12:20 AM

The Braves have played their hardest part of the schedule already, and still have 30 games left against the Mets and Marlins. I imagine their record will improve.

Boomer 06-17-2013 12:23 AM

The Braves have 16 left against the Phillies too. No idea where they sit.

Bad News Gertner 06-17-2013 04:09 AM

The Jays bullpen is insane

Juan Perez: 10 IP 0.00 ERA
Neil Wagner 9.1 IP 0.96 ERA
Brett Cecil 35.1 IP 1.53 ERA
Steve Delebar 34 IP 1.84 ERA
Aaron Loup 35.2 IP 2.02 ERA
Casey Janssen 21.2 IP 2.49 ERA
Darren Oliver 19 IP 2.84 ERA

Dustin McGowan just got called up, 2.1 IP 3.86 ERA

I've never seen anything like this. No weak links.

screech 06-17-2013 07:34 AM

Incredible how good Darren Oliver still is considering he's like 73.

The Condor 06-17-2013 11:30 AM

NL Central, AL East and NL West are the only 15 teams I really care about. And maybe Detroit.

ClockShot 06-17-2013 01:32 PM

Rays are gonna bring up Wil Myers tomorrow.

If he's as good as they say he is, I think Dayton Moore is gone from Kansas City after this season.

Damian Rey 06-17-2013 02:13 PM

I think hes gone, regardless. They traded a lot to be what will end up being e mediocre team thats on the same level, if not a few steps behind Cleveland. The prospects they have had on the main roster haven't panned out, like Hosmer and Moustakas. Outside of Brett, I can see a massive front office and coaching staff overhaul after this year.

DaveWadding 06-17-2013 02:35 PM

Miguel Montero, Jason Kubel, Martin Prado, Cody Ross, and Aaron Hill are combining to make $36 million while producing 0.1 WAR.

Fuck. :(

Insane to look at what the Rays got for Shields and Garza deals.

Feel he'd be doomed regardless of if the team was good or not this year. Gave or dropped too much for the chance at instant success but their window is way too small and the division is still Detroit's to own.

Even for the Wild Card spots they are facing heavy competition and teams better suited to stay in the hunt for the next few years.

screech 06-17-2013 06:47 PM

Heading to the Phillies game tonight. Dollar dogs :)

Bad News Gertner 06-17-2013 11:04 PM

Jays pitching is amazing lately. 2-0 shut out and Johnson was incredible with 10k's. Cecil and Janssen finish it off.

screech 06-18-2013 12:45 AM

Papelbon blew it, but f'n Dominic Brown saved the day.

Despite not coming through with RISP for the most part, Phils looked more patient and battled through some tough ABs. Also Ryan Howard got on base every time up so that was good.

Staying optimistic about this team :y:

The Condor 06-18-2013 12:53 AM

Yeah Howard's home run is kind of a big deal with the way things have been going

Skippord 06-18-2013 01:08 AM

I would like it if Josh Johnson never pitched against the Rockies again.

Bad News Gertner 06-18-2013 01:16 AM

Maicer Izturis > Rockies

Bad News Gertner 06-18-2013 01:18 AM

Your old friend Esmil Rogers comes to town tomorrow.

Skippord 06-18-2013 01:45 AM

I look forward to it

Bad News Gertner 06-18-2013 01:48 AM

And then Mark Buehrle will go out and throw 86 MPH, allow 2 runs through 7 innings and you'll wonder how it's possible.

Droford 06-18-2013 02:26 PM

Manny machado is on pace to break earl Webb's record of 67 doubles back in 1931. And he's still not 21..

If Harvey stays in the game, I'm not sure the Braves will get a hit. First time seeing him this year, I think.

The City of San Jose has filed a lawsuit against MLB for "dragging their feet" about the Athletics relocation vote.

From espn.com

Quote:

SAN FRANCISCO -- Major League Baseball is dragging its feet on having team owners vote on the Oakland Athletics' proposed move to a new ballpark 40 miles south in San Jose, San Jose city officials said in a lawsuit filed Tuesday.

The lawsuit -- filed in federal court in San Jose -- is disputing MLB's exemption to federal antitrust law, which MLB has used as a "guise" to control the location of teams, according to the suit.

"It's time for someone to take on this supposed baseball exemption from antitrust laws," said attorney Phil Gregory of Cotchett, Pitre & McCarthy, the law firm representing the city. "The City of San Jose is a perfect candidate to make that challenge."

The San Francisco Giants have objected to the A's potential move on grounds they relied on territorial rights to the San Jose-area market when they built their ballpark, AT&T Park.

The A's say those rights were only meant to support the Giants' failed efforts in the early 1990s to build a San Jose-area ballpark themselves.

MLB commissioner Bud Selig appointed a committee more than four years ago to study the potential move.

He rejected a proposal earlier this year from San Jose Mayor Chuck Reed to sit down and talk about the A's plans and said Reed's reference to additional litigation at the time was "neither productive nor consistent with process that the Athletics have initiated under our rules."

The A's and Major League Baseball officials did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

A's owner Lew Wolff has said he is focused on a new stadium in San Jose rather than a move outside the Bay Area. Wolff is allowed to consider other sites within the A's territory -- such as downtown Oakland -- but approval from MLB would be needed for a move outside the territory.

The A's current stadium is run down. A sewage problem forced the A's and Seattle Mariners to use the same locker room after Sunday's game.

The pipes backed up on the lower levels of the stadium, creating a stink and pools of water in the clubhouses used by both teams and the umpires.
Gregory said Wolff is not involved in the lawsuit.

The Fraze 06-18-2013 07:24 PM

San Jose is The Giants' territory, plain and simple. It's really not that difficult to grasp. The A's shouldn't have rights to it, regardless of which side you're on. If the A's do move out of Oakland (which I don't think they should, just like I didn't think the 49ers should move out of San Francisco to Santa Clara, despite San Jose being my hometown), then they should relocate to Sacramento. Sacramento already has a stadium that houses their Triple-A affiliate and can be built upon to support a major league club. Plus, with the new downtown arena coming to town and The Kings staying, Sacramento is going to be an up and coming sports market.

ClockShot 06-18-2013 07:59 PM

Welcome home, Donnie Baseball.

Bad News Gertner 06-18-2013 09:47 PM

Haha Jays up 8-0 against the Rockies. Esmil Rogers 1 hitting the Rockies through 7.

Evil Vito 06-18-2013 10:32 PM

Scott Atchison came off the DL today. Was announced to pitch the 7th. Injured himself throwing warm-up pitches. Probably going back to the DL. Poor guy.

Frank Drebin 06-18-2013 11:04 PM

Lol Cubs. Luis Valbuena leading off. I know he's got a 360 obp, but the sight of it seems absurd. Better than Joe Mather hitting 3rd last year though.

Frank Drebin 06-18-2013 11:06 PM

Jeremy Bonderman is alive? Next, youl tell me Mike Maroth is too.
