This is getting tricky.
Get Nic Cage. |
That would be the greatest. |
Just read Superman Earth One - volume 3.....
Was good... Much better "take" on Superman to "update" him.... Wish there wasn't so long in between volumes of this... |
what about the Batman Earth one series
|
Remember thinking it was alright, but don't really remember much of it.
To be fair, I don't really remember much of Superman Earth One volume 1 or 2 either. Another reason why I wish there wasn't so long between them... |
alfred fought with a cane in it i think
hey its me rad dggy dg |
Was it a Corporate Cane, or a Demon Cane?
|
Demon
|
|
Meh to that look
|
Looks like he'll just keep playing Khal Drogo in everything now.

I rather like the new look.
I mean, yeah, it's weird that he looks like he's a Pacific islander when he's supposed to be from Atlantis, which is in the Atlantic Ocean on the other side of the planet, but it gets the point across. It beats the doofy orange chain-mail shirt at any rate. Plus, there are a lot of elements that are still definitely Aquaman-- the A-buckle on his pants, the scale pattern tattoos that reference his old shirt, the big trident, and he did have a scraggly beard and long hair back in the 90s, so it's not like this is something we've never seen before. Honestly, I like pretty much all of the costumes they've rolled out for the new movie-- not crazy about how grayed-out everything is, but if they're really sticking to making "serious business" superhero movies, at least they all look cool. |

I dig the look, but it's still Khal Drogo. With a trident.
|
In sepia tones. Come to me when it's in color.

|
"new look"
http://cdn-media.hollywood.com/image...25/3405532.jpg he pretty much looked like that, all beardy and grim, for most of the 1990s and everyone online is like FINALLY a badass look for aquaman but aquaman had a badass look and everyone ridiculed it because it was during the period that superman had a mullet |
anyway i quite like it; it's kinda grown on me. didn't love it at first but i like the homage to his old orange shirt on the tattooed shoulder mixed with his more warrior-like outfit and scruffy look from the '90s. it suits the universe they're building, for whatever opposition i still kinda have to the overall grimness of everything

Much better with colour....
DC Comics I always found to be "more colourful", but their movies seem to try to downplay that.... |

Just fucking perfect. |
"My Lord Aquaman, it appears as if the royal treasuries are running a bit low... we can only afford to make armour for one of your arms... but perhaps if we tattoo scales on the other arm, our enemies won't notice?"
|
Btw, what does Unite the Seven even mean?
|
Either referring to the Justice League (which gives it a prophetic vibe), perhaps the seven seas, or something that pertains to whatever they're planning with Aguaman's own movie. The pic after all was not tagged with BvS in particular.
|
Aquaman is onbiously on a quest to unite the seven Dragonballs
|
Like every other look thus far, this one hits it out of the park. Looks awesome. Curious how they're going to stuff him in the movie.
|
While Supergirl and Titans are up in the air as far as being a part of the DC CW-verse, it seems an official third spin-off is in the works. Essentially "Brave and the Bold", where two heroes are teamed up. Brandon Routh's Atom is attached already. Perhaps we'll see Vixen (headlining a CW-Verse online animated spin-off)?
|
When I look at Momoa as Aquaman... and I talk to other people about the movie , I always call him "Ronan from Stargate Atlantis"
I fuckin loved that show. |
I don't know if anyone cares but Batman Eternal is entering its home stretch they finally had a title drop and I love Julia Pennyworth.
I'm dying to know who is behind all this I wanna say Owlman |
Should be good for the role

Toy Man and Hank Henshaw characters join the CBS Supergirl series.
Legacy actors Dean Cain (Adventures of Lois & Clark) and Helen Slater (80s Supergirl movie) also join the series in unrevealed roles. |
hi everyone its me rad dggy dg and my favorite dc character i s MoonKnight
|
Ok Toy Man I can kinda get behind but Cyborg Superman? Really?
|
It's unlikely he'll be Cyborg Supes since Superman's own involvement will likely be ambiguous.
|
Hank Henshaw you say ? Now I'm curious
|
Could see him becoming Cyborg Superman at some point down the line, if the show lasts a few seasons.

Can't wait for that.
Wonder if Burt Ward can sound "more youthful" though.... |
It's possible in post.
Also Hawkgirl has been cast in CW's Brave and Bold thing. |
The next DC animated movie is fairly ambitious in concept. It's an original alternate reality thing. http://www.cosmicbooknews.com/conten...ters-plot-info
|
I'm....fairly confident in Bruce Timm. This looks...interesting.
|
watching Batman Vs. Robin animated movie right now. I like that there is a connected story with all these films
|
How is it? I didn't care for the last one too much.
|
It was pretty sweet actually. Much better than the last one
|
The Flash/Arrow spinoff series is happening.
Quote:
|
Don't know why they are calling it "Legends of Tomorrow"..... seems like such a weird name that has nothing to do with anything DC Comics.
|
Must be something to do with the time travel element. That probably also covers how Sara Lance is going to be in it.
|
No idea if anyone even watches it, but Constantine has been cancelled.
|
Damn. Constantine was good shit.
|
I am indifferent to this news. I still have the last two episodes of it on my DVR that I haven't watched yet.
Show seemed incredibly average.... Like every time I watched it all I could think was "What am I doing? I would not be watching this show if it wasn't based on a comic book..." Never really got into Hellblazer comics, though.... Constantine just always seemed like a better supporting character than a main character to me.... If he showed up in Arrow/Flash I would mark out incredibly, but on his own I struggle to care about him.... |
Quote:
Now if they bring The Question to TV I would watch the hell outta that. Either versionn would be awesome |
|
Great, now take it, tone down the colour, and add a gray filter over the image! Go!
|
I'm sorry, that was negative.
I like what I see. I like the cape thing. |
On the subject of Justice Leaguers sporting their new looks, apparently in the comics Aquaman is going to have a new costume in the post-Convergence continuity......
http://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/...4148952746.png .....and none of the designers managed to notice that the symbol on his belt looks like a golden vag being penetrated by a big green dick. Amazing. |
I didn't notice until you pointed it out. Was too busy looking at how generally terrible that costume is.
Too bad, because Aquaman was one of the ones who managed to avoid a bad costume redesign at the outset of the whole New 52 fiasco. |
Gotta get him in line for his upcoming movie portrayal.

In this mag the producer confirms CBS doesn't want a crossover between Supergirl and the CW-verse. |
Frankly, neither do I. Not because I think Supergirl looks bad, but because if Superman existed in the CW-verse, I feel like it would have been mentioned once or twice.
|
Six Shows....
Arrow Flash Legends of Tomorrow Supergirl What are the other two... |
Oh, ok....
Some upcoming show called "Blindspot", and "The Mysteries of Laura" |
He also something called Mysteries of Laura and Blindspot. They probably counted those.
Edit: We Googled |
I would want a Supergirl crossover, and my reasoning would be just because...
It would be "cool" |

Well, they did just open up the multiverse in Flash, so I guess they can do crossovers by having Barry show up in the parallel universe with Supergirl in it.
On the subject of DC's multiverse, I just finished up reading The Multiversity, and got caught up with Convergence. The fact that they're running two big multiverse stories back-to-back like that is more signs that the higher-ups at DC have no idea what the hell they're doing (though to be fair, Multiversity was supposed to come out during the launch of the New 52 and was plagued by delays). And there is a huge gap in quality between the two stories. Multiversity is absolutely insane, and I love it. I'm admittedly a sucker for Grant Morrison's crazy, meta, "comics about comics" kind of stories as it is, but this series is Grant Morrison times Grant Morrison. There's a ton of follow-ups from previous stories like Final Crisis and Superman Beyond, ideas lifted from Seven Soldiers and even going back to stuff like The Invisibles, but it's also engaging enough that you don't need to have done your homework to get what's going on. While the first and final issues about the House of Heroes and all that are fun, they really pale in comparison to the stuff in between-- Morrison and Quitely using the Charlton comics characters to do their own spin on Watchmen was amazing, and 'Thunderworld Adventures' made me wonder out loud why Morrison's never written Captain Marvel before. And 'Ultra Comics #1' seriously screwed with my head. It's all very crazy and head-trippy and almost obnoxiously meta, but it's also probably the best stuff that DC's put out since the reboot. Convergence, on the other hand, meh. It's a lot more straightforward-- Brainiac gathers up cities from parallel universes and makes them fight to survive-- but since the main plot focuses mostly on the heroes from Earth-2, I couldn't really get into it because I absolutely do not give a shit about Earth-2. The tie-in comics are rather great, since you get to see Pre-Flashpoint (and even Pre-Crisis) versions of all your favorite characters again, but since they've already announced that the post-Convergence continuity is sticking with the New 52, it feels almost like an insult. "Oh, you like your old versions of Superman and Batman? Wanna see them again? Well, too bad! They're getting put away for good, and we're going back to the version you hate, only even dumber this time!" It's a shame that the really interesting and fun multiverse-based story is the one that doesn't have any actual bearing on the main DCU, but the boring and contrived one does. |
I've pretty much given up on DC Comics... I'm sure there's good stuff that has been put out, but I dunno... I just don't feel it anymore.... Just not invested in their universe at all...
|
I t hink both companies are trying to hard to cater to their fanbase to the point that they are making all their titles irrelevant. They need to go back a few steps for a bit and not worry about renumbering every few years or wiping the slate clean every 5-10. They need to start sticking to single issue storylines with the occasional multi and keep continuity a little less strict. When i was a young kid I picked up a comic because the cover interested me not because of the issue number or at times who was even in it.
Things got so messed up in the 90's and now the kids that were buying them in the 90's are repeating the same damn mistakes thst were made back then. JAne Foster as Thor... good Just about every supporting cast member ever as a Hulk.. Bad Couple of X-titles good.... 15 bad They need to stop mass publishing their top tier heroes and just give us quality |
In keeping with the 'everyone has a stupid costume now' trend, apparently Lex Luthor has gone all cyberpunk:
http://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/...9555651173.jpg Not as bad as big-green-penis-pants Aquaman, but jeez. I refuse to believe the smartest man in the world deliberately chooses to dress himself like that. |
Remove the glasses and I can work with that.
|
I mean, I guess it makes sense as his 'superhero' costume if they're still doing that thing where he's basically taken over the Justice League. I just have trouble taking seriously any version of Lex where he's not in his business suit.
|
Looks kind of like Static with the brown coat and flying disc....
|
Okay, so Convergence just ended. Overall, it's not a great series--the villains are boring and there's more telling than showing in terms of how big and important things are supposed to be-- but the effect it had on the DC cosmos is kinda cool. So after a bunch of really confusing nonsense with Brainiac and some really dull villains named Telos and Deimos, Post-Crisis Superman and Parallax decide to travel back to the original Crisis On Infinite Earths and help their Pre-Crisis counterparts stop the collapse of the original Multiverse. According to the story, this "stabilizes" reality and puts a new, "evolved" Multiverse in place (the same one from Grant Morrison's Multiversity).
What it means out of character is A) No more 'Crisis' events to reinvent reality over and over, and B) Writers can pick and choose from any incarnation of DC they want. Right now the "New 52/DC You" universe is still the primary one, but if, say, someone wants to use Silver Age Batman for a story, they can just go ahead and do it without any gimmicks or weird qualifiers, because Silver Age DC still exists out there in the new multiverse. I'm not thrilled that they're keeping the New 52 universe around (especially since some of the new "DC You" status quo looks absolutely wretched), but if it means they're going to focus on establishing the new setting and letting it settle into its own groove instead of just resetting and rebooting every couple of years, then I can get behind that. |
Been meaning to at least check out some of the tie-in books to that.... just to read some of my fav pre-Flashpoint characters again...
|
The tie-ins are far and away the best part about the whole arc.
|
So basically.... people can write Elseworlds stories based on previous universes?
|
James Wan is directing Aquaman. And un-comic related; Robotech as well.

It's Bruce Timm and it is something new so I'm good with it so far through 1 episode.

Believe in Timm.
