Right, but he COULD BE that guy.

screech 06-19-2015 08:22 AM

If he has a "mean streak" it could work, maybe.

Also if he changes pretty much everything about himself.

drave 06-19-2015 08:26 AM

He is already on the verge of a "crazy" kinda gimmick. It would be quite simple to translate that into "mean streak". Add suplexes and maybe renew some crazy submission, like "The Brainclaw" or something, I dunno.

drave 06-19-2015 08:27 AM

Scratch that, the claw wouldn't work for him. Would need to be a choke or something like that.

XL 06-19-2015 08:30 AM

Somebody needs to use Rings of Saturn again.

drave 06-19-2015 08:57 AM

That would work.

Big Vic 06-19-2015 10:47 AM

Dean Ambrose vs Seth Rollins HIAC was the first HIAC match to be between 2 contenders where one was not in a HIAC match prior (Aside from the first one) in WWE History.

Does Vince Mcmahon count?

Kane and McMahon have both main scented several PPVs though.

I thought the question was main evented a ppv as champion. Kane only won the WWF/E title once unless we're counting his run with the WHC.

SlickyTrickyDamon 06-19-2015 11:48 PM

Kane did main event at a Hell in a Cell against the Undertaker as World Heavyweight Champion.

Dave Meltzer noted that Blackjack Mulligan was back home as of yesterday. He had suffered a serious heart attack earlier this week and has been dealing with health issues in recent years. Last night he needed several issues to be taken care of but there was fear that if they put him under (anesthesia) that it would be too risky.

There was a video of Mulligan posted on the Championship Wrestling from Florida Archives Facebook page yesterday. There was a rumor going around earlier today that Blackjack had passed away. Apparently the rumor started on Reddit and then mentioned by Sean Waltman on his twitter page.

WWE will be running a Tough Enough after-show called Tough Talk. The program will air on the WWE Network following the original broadcast and be hosted by Tough Enough alumni The Miz. You can see a hype video for the show at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EH93a1dBPHY.

The dark match before last night's WWE NXT TV tapings at Full Sail University saw top indie star Johnny Gargano defeat new WWE talent Uhaa Nation. EVOLVE released the following statement today on Gargano: "Johnny Gargano wrestled Uhaa Nation at last night's NXT taping in a dark match. Watch their first ever match at EVOLVE 27 here. We are very happy that WWE gave Gargano this opportunity. We have all traveled the road with Gargano and watched him go from the pre-show FRAY! on the first ever DGUSA event to his historic reigns as DGUSA Champion. If there is ever a WWN Hall Of Fame, Gargano is sure to be on the first ballot. It is only with your support that Gargano has accomplished all these things. Gargano remains under WWN contract. He will return to EVOLVE in New York on August 15th and 16th. We can already announce one of the huge matches he will be involved in that weekend. After what happened at EVOLVE 44, it'll be Gargano vs. Ethan Page in an Anything Goes Match at EVOLVE 47 in Queens, NY at La Boom."

“Daniel Bryan is finished,” said Hart. “He’ll never wrestle again. I don’t think he knows it yet. I feel terrible about Daniel Bryan. For all intents and purposes, he had the exact same thing happen to him that happened to me after Bill Goldberg kicked me in the head [ending Hart’s career].

“One day, you learn it’s over. Doctors tell you that you can’t wrestle and you’ll never wrestle again. I lost millions of dollars because of that. I pray that it’s not the same for Daniel Bryan.” ...

“But, in the creation of Roman Reigns, he seems to now be a lot like Triple H’s character. Long hair, indestructible, no facials, he’s always angry, and there’s no softness in his eyes, so it’s very hard to get sympathy. All of that was poorly thought out. There are ways to achieve all those things with dramatic logic in the match, but they missed a lot of that with him. The company said, ‘We’re going to get this guy so over that no one will be able to compare to him.’ In the end, no one liked him. They just need sometimes that there is a logic that goes to wrestling and people like to see.” ...

“If you watch punches, kicks, and moves where there is contact, Cody Rhodes is one of the best. I watch a lot of wrestlers in WWE throw the phoniest, worst punches – WWE tries to cut camera at the last second. In my day, wrestling had to look pretty real. Cody Rhodes’ punches are right in there, his kicks are right in there, and you never see Cody Rhodes talking in the ring. You see a lot of wrestlers – who aren’t good professionals – talking and calling spots in the ring. They’re oblivious to the fact that all the fans can see them calling a high spot to the guy. There is an art to wrestling and there is a need to do it right. Cody Rhodes exemplifies all the right things.” ...

Hart also provided some perspective as to why Sting lost in his WWE debut at WrestleMania.

“It was so obvious that Sting was going to win that too many people took it for granted,” he said. “So that was the swerve. Then Rock and Triple H planted a few seeds for WrestleMania 32 in that long promo in the ring, and that’s why Triple H needed to go over. Also, Sting isn’t done yet. I’ve heard he has a light contract of a few more pay per view dates.”

Bret gets a 4/10 for his stance on Bryan.

XL 06-20-2015 03:08 PM

His "stance"? Seems pretty clear cut from what he said. I don't see DB coming back. It's really unfortunate because he's a personal favourite that caught on with the mass audience against the odds. But he has to put his long term health first.

This, even if he did come back, there would be no investment in him anymore. He would be seen as too fragile. It's sad, but would have been even sadder had it happened before his big moment, he will have that forever now.
