Even though I'm not totally on the Fandango bandwagon at the moment like most guys here, I just couldn't get his theme out my head today.

And also him saying "Fan-Dan-Go!".

nah, there's no 1-2-3 Kid, Adam Bomb, Giant Gonzalez/the "later run" of figures but it's pretty comprehensive for before that I think. Actually went through earlier to see who I didn't have then started looking on eBay at prices :o

XL 03-06-2013 06:10 PM

Yeah, I thought there was a later range that came out after I stopped collecting/watching. Still have a lot of those, minus most of the duplicates (Hogan, Savage, MDM, etc).

Triple Naitch 03-06-2013 06:14 PM

I still have the Macho King somewhere.

Corporate CockSnogger 03-06-2013 06:45 PM

I had 13 of them I think. Got rid of them all after I stopped caring about wrestling when I was like 7 up until I started watching again when I was around 10.

Emperor Smeat 03-06-2013 06:49 PM

Think I only had Hawk and maybe 1 other one.

Mainly had just generic no-name wrestler toys as a kid.

Juan 03-06-2013 07:15 PM

I had like 90% of those figures

rob11 03-06-2013 07:20 PM

I'm going to Raw March 25th. Anyone else going? 2 weeks before WM should be a good show. I know several of you live in the area.

Xero 03-06-2013 07:26 PM

Found a Greg Valentine LJN figure at a Thrift Shop a week or so ago. Shitty condition but still bought him.

Also found a 1997 Andre figure. Both were like a dollar.

http://i.ebayimg.com/t/Limited-Editi...fWg~~60_35.JPG

That's the Andre one (sans box, of course).

thecc 03-06-2013 10:13 PM

hate to be that guy but does anyone have an invite for xwt or pwt?

Droford 03-06-2013 10:40 PM

The only figure I have now is the Andy Kaufman one.

I also have a Hogan and warrior wrestling buddy.

"Superstar" Billy Graham recently sent an ultimatum to the WWE. Either to remove him or Abdullah the Butcher from the WWE Hall of Fame.

Graham wants no part of the Hall as long as Abdullah is still there and its due to another case of where Abdullah the Butcher infected another unwilling wrestler with Hepatitis C.

Quote:

WWE Hall of Famer “Superstar” Billy Graham has published a new Facebook post explaining why he wants WWE to remove him from the Hall of Fame:

“In 2011 I became one unhappy retired wrestler when WWE inducted into its Hall of Fame Abdullah the Butcher (Larry Shreve). Not just because Shreve had never worked for the WW(W)F or stepped foot inside Madison Square Garden, not just because my good friend Randy “Macho Man” Savage was passed over in the honors list of that year, but because Abdullah actually is a butcher in a disturbingly real sense.

Now we all know that pro wrestling is largely make-believe. The trouble is that many of us end up losing the ability to distinguish fantasy from reality. The temptation to become in real life the characters we create in the ring can sometimes become just too overwhelming. I’m afraid that’s the case with this WWE Hall of Fame inductee. For decades Larry Shreve has played the blood-lusting Abdullah the Butcher, a maniac psychotic enough to qualify as a Canadian-born Hitler, another Fuehrer.

Well, losing touch with reality is one thing; losing respect for other wrestlers’ rights is another, and in my view the “Butcher” has blotted his copybook big time by becoming a suspected spreader of Hepatitis C through his negligence when blading in the ring. The Butcher, who is Hepatitis C positive Genotype 2 is currently facing allegations of negligence, assault and battery in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice stemming from an unsanitary blade assault in a 2007 professional wrestling match. Nicholson is being represented by Ronald Caza in the case. Caza, of the Caza Saikaley law firm is one of Canada’s most eminent lawyers.

In this link (youtube.com/watch?v=0rN4FI8yqq8) you will see how Shreve, in a match against Hannibal (Devon Nicholson), cut his own head with a razor blade and then cut the forehead of the unsuspecting Nicholson. It’s alleged that the end result of this assault was Nicholson, a healthy young man at the time who was just beginning a promising career, contracting Hepatitis C. How many others wrestlers have contracted Hepatitis C thanks to Abdullah’s indifference to the danger he poses regularly to his fellow workers? Nicholson is now in the middle of a 9 month regimen with disturbing side effects to rid him of this disease.

In my opinion every time “The Butcher” behaves in this utterly irresponsible way, cutting the foreheads of other wrestlers, it is as if he is attempting murder, because the fact is the Hepatitis C can kill. I take no pleasure at all in saying this. Larry Shreve was once a friend of mine and it has saddened me to see him sink into such anti-social behavior. But right is right and wrong is wrong and never the twain shall meet. WWE, with its powerful influence on our vulnerable youth in these increasingly immoral times, should be strongly condemning life-threatening gimmicks in the ring, not rewarding them, and Larry Shreve needs to take stock of his actions and the tragic effects they have had on others. The world of pro wrestling is a rough and tough one, and none of us has a lily-white record when it comes to personal behavior. But carelessly spreading a deadly disease in the name of “entertainment” is beyond a joke. So hopefully now you will all have a better understanding of exactly why I asked WWE to remove my name from the WWE Hall of Fame list when Abdullah was inducted two years ago.

If Mike Quackenbush could integrate all his acrobatics into their style, he'd be pretty awesome to watch in WWE.

Imagine seeing that sequence just now on a WWE PPV, would be insane.

CSL 03-07-2013 05:49 PM

problem is he doesn't have one single other positive trait, he's so indy it's ridiculous. He's the epitome of generic skinny guy with rots gear and nothing "to him" whatsoever

Yeah he's been improving a lot and not rushing spots which lead to a lot of botches early on.

Same for being a lot better when there is no special lights during his matches. Was a stupid idea to begin with considering the way his mask is and how dark the lighting was.

I like how badass monster Mark Henry was so sweet to Mae Young at RAW on Monday night. Mark Henry could probably end up being a huge babyface if he doesn't get hurt again in the middle of a run. Deep down, we all want to be a giant black man that will kick the shit out of any living thing on the planet at will.

James Steele 03-08-2013 08:53 AM

They teased Ryback/Mark Henry on RAW, and I can see the WrestleMania crowd shitting on Ryback and rooting for Henry (until he picks up Henry for the Shellshock). I hope Ryback can do it because the fucked up Tensai match still sticks in my head. I think that is why they didn't do Ryback/Big Show at Mania.

Vastardikai 03-08-2013 09:23 AM

Dunno, think there's still a chance he keeps the gimmick (under a different name but probably the same basic idea). I'm assuming his gimmick was a big part of the reason he was hired, and WWE actually haven't drastically altered the gimmicks for recent indy hires.

He was wrestling under his real name for this match and it was only a house show, so it probably doesn't mean much.

Xero 03-08-2013 12:35 PM

Probably seeing how he works without the gimmick to make sure he's flexible.

The El Generico character is marketable. I'd be surprised if he doesn't come in under it, even if it's under another name.

Examples:

Die Generische
Jenerik
Generica
Le Générique
ジェネリック
Den Generiska

James Steele 03-08-2013 12:55 PM

He should come in as a heel. He can be Zeb and Swagger's "Great American Luchador". A luchador who looks like us and we can all cheer and be proud of.

James Steele 03-08-2013 12:56 PM

Yes, I know he's Canadian.

James Steele 03-08-2013 01:01 PM

"Mr. Red White and Blue," The proud Eagle of Justice and Truth" The White Lightning

James Steele 03-08-2013 01:03 PM

Zeb speaking in Spanish sarcastically would be an awesome addition to the gimmick.

James Steele 03-08-2013 01:10 PM

América Jack Swagger tendrá brownie gratuita para todos los ciudadanos legales. Apóyenos en WrestleMania a medida que derribar el extranjero malvado con la piel marrón conocido como Alberto Del Río.

James Steele 03-08-2013 01:10 PM

Zeb would become the biggest babyface since Bruno Sammartino with this gimmick.

Probably just a test to see how the crowd reacts to him not being El Generico considering he was wrestling with the gimmick and mask when he arrived at NXT. Like Xero said, they want to see how flexible he might be without the Generic gimmick for any future plans.

Would be really dumb for the WWE to drop his gimmick considering they could make a good amount of money from mask sales alone. Same reason why they got Sin Cara since they wanted his mask sales to be the future replacement for Rey's.

Pretty huge meeting is supposed to occur tomorrow and could eventually end up leading to having the courts deciding if wrestlers are indeed "independent contractors" or actual employees.

TNA also has a lot more to lose than the WWE if this does go to the courts and they lose considering this year they are also taking the huge financial risk of leaving the Impact Zone.

Quote:

It has been around nine months since we had any update on Daffney‘s Workers’ Compensation claim against TNA, but Ringbelles has secured some information on the situation, and it could potentially lead to one of the biggest shake-ups in wrestling history. It could cause ripple effects not just through TNA, but also to WWE.

It was always telling that Daffney, whose real name is Shannon Spruill, filed a Workers’ Comp lawsuit instead of a personal injury one, which could have been another avenue for her to be compensated for concussions which she suffered on TNA shows and effectively ended her in-ring career. The reason for that is because she wants to test the claim that wrestlers are “independent contractors”, which means that they are responsible for their own medical insurance and do not enjoy the same sort of protection and benefits that a regular employee would – similar to the lawsuit that Scott Levy (Raven), Mike Sanders and Christopher Klucsarits (Chris Kanyon) filed against WWE back in 2008 – but was dismissed, partly because their claims were barred by statute of limitations.

TNA is to mediate with Spruill tomorrow – if a settlement is not reached, the case will go to court, when it will then be up to a judge to see if wrestlers under a contract, booked to appear at places on certain dates, be told to execute a planned outcome and not have the freedom to accept booking elsewhere are truly “independent contractors” or if they should be classified as employees. Rather than just looking to satisfy her medical bills which have left her out of pocket, Spruill’s case could create a legal judgement which means all wrestlers in places like WWE and TNA could legally have to become staff.

Were that to happen, both companies would likely have to face huge tax bills as well as an increase in costs due to having to sort out benefits and insurance. On the flip side, the wrestlers on the roster would have medical cover for their injuries. That would be more of an issue in TNA than WWE, considering wrestlers working for Vince McMahon are generally well taken care of, while there have been cases in TNA such as with Ron “R-Truth” Killings, Konnan and Jesse Neal where medical bills were a cause of tension, and April Hunter pointed out having to sign a medical waiver was a big reason why she never signed to wrestle with them.

It is possible that TNA would not want a lot of its dirty laundry aired in public as part of a court case where there could be a chance that a judge could decide that wrestlers should be classified as employees. There may be a settlement at the mediation stage tomorrow, with a confidentiality agreement signed which would bar Spruill from discussing the case any further. However, should that not happen and mediation ends without a settlement, the issue will be taken to court for a hearing on the motion on the same day.

Tomorrow could be a massive day for pro wrestling and pro wrestlers. We’ll keep you posted.

If the story about TNA letting Bobby Roode's contract expire and not realizing it until Roode brings it up weeks later is true, well, I'd like to say I'm surprised, but I'm not.

Ambrose is fantastic. He happens to be really good in the ring, but with his mic work he can easily be an upper level heel for years to come.

Ambrose is definitely fantastic. The Shield are really doing quite well for themselves as a group in the WWE and I hope to see them continue their streak of dominance. In my dream world, WrestleMania wouldn't end with the predictable moment of respect between The Rock and John Cena, but rather after said moment of respect is interrupted by The Shield, who lay waste to both men and take the WWE Championship hostage.

John Cena & The Rock vs. The Shield at Extreme Rules. That could be more than serviceable as a main event.

I would love to see Cena vs. Ambrose in a Steel Cage Match down the line. Perhaps have The Shield help a heel CM Punk win back the WWE Title from Cena sometime after WrestleMania and have an enraged Cena demand he get Ambrose in the cage where his buddies can't help him. Ambrose wouldn't win the match, but Cena would have his vicious streak unleashed in the match, where he brutalizes Ambrose and busts him open, slaps the STF on him and chokes him out long past the point where Ambrose has tapped out.

random thought: with how the RAW after WrestleMania played out last year and the immense crowd and how much of an "event" Mania is now with people all over the world going and doing RAW the night after, if the same kind of crowd shows up this year, I bet "The RAW After Mania" becomes an "attraction" like RAW anniversaries, old school eps etc. Going to quote this in a few years
