lol What??

Vince Loves (Blocking the) Cock?

I don't know they just bought a house together. It's a minor tort to use business means to get a couple to break up. Wonder if Vince knows that?

It was done at a VFW lodge in Tennessee. VFW is a social group/club for veterans, so it really was nothing but old people and crying babies.

Ugh. Seriously, Samoa Joe's music is whack as hell. The sinister intro gets you hype for the match, the the jobberiffic CAW tune after it makes you go "uh, nevermind". Might sound unimportant in the scheme of things, but it is a seriously lackluster part of the presentation. I mean, think about how unfitting it would be if Finn Balor's paint and smoke entrances started the same, but then instead of that guitar riff hitting, they played Erick Rowan's shitty singles run music box theme?

Pretty sure Joe will get new music after these tapings, funky midi dance music doesn't suit him

First epsidoe of ROH I've watched in a while, and you know what stuck with me? This gimmick.

Not somebody almost murdering Maria. Not someone being driven through chairs. Not Mr. Clean's fat uncle sidewalk slamming the kid from Everybody Hates Chris through a table. Not Christopher Daniels and Kazarian. Hell of a gimmick. I'm fully expecting them to steal this and make Adam Rose into it within a month.

I certainly hope so. It's worse than Cena's production theme when he first started his "rapper" gimmick. And that's a low bar.

Would not surpise me one bit, as NXT has that one tag team that looks suspiciously like they're supposed to be a cleaned up, PG version of The Briscoses.

I actually came across a match of him in TNA, but "his boys" were replaced with girls. Seems like a step WWE would take, which kills the presentation. While more "acceptable", the problems were a) they went from being part of the hedonistic gimmick to simply arm charm props, as he obviously couldn't use them for furniture (like steps for him to get the ring, or to sit on like when he cut his promo on Jay Lethal) and b) why this change was neccessary, but Orlando Jordan could... do the weird shit he was doing for his entrance, such as the caution tape and lotion slathering for no reason.

Dalton reminds me of the one villan from the one story in Heavy Metal. If you've ever seen the movie, you know the guy. Just as cartoony, but in a fun way.

Been watching the attitude era RAWs and PPVs, and watching the episode where Motley Crüe performs on RAW. I do not remember this at all. Would this have been a huge fucking deal in 98? Also the only time I remember a mini-concert not getting booed and/or ruining the momentum of a show.

James Steele 06-11-2015 05:02 PM

How was Ken Shamrock not WWF Champion? He was over as fuck, had great matches, and was feuding with main eventers early and often.

Not really. I mean, they were known, but at that point I think they were more famous for Tommy Lee's sex tape than they were for being Motley Crüe. I think that whole segment was just an excuse to introduce Test, right?

James Steele 06-11-2015 05:24 PM

Test wasn't shown/mentioned. NAO & X-Pac were on stage with them. Seemed like they were just plugging their best of album that was coming out. DX had made some jokes about the sex tape in a promo a week or two before.

loopydate 06-11-2015 05:27 PM

Hm. Must have been thinking of something else. Some band was performing and a fan tried to rush them or something and their giant bodyguard took the "fan" down and the announcers got all excited about the giant blond dude.

loopydate 06-11-2015 05:28 PM

It was Motley Crüe, but it apparently happened on Heat, not Raw according to Wikipedia.

loopydate 06-11-2015 05:30 PM

"Martin debuted in the World Wrestling Federation on the October 25, 1998, episode of Sunday Night Heat as an unnamed bodyguard for the band Mötley Crüe, who were performing on the show. In a scripted event, Martin threw an overzealous fan off the stage during the band's rehearsal."

Kurt Angle. They found a better superstar for the real athlete motif. Shamrock took 20 minutes to catch on that Triple H wanted to fight in a Triple Threat match with him and Owen Hart also. Wasn't a good promo.

I guess they did a second set when they taped heat. They still tried to make HeAT a legit show then.

SlickyTrickyDamon 06-11-2015 05:37 PM

In terms of being over the person most deserving of a World Title who didn't get one in the Attitude Era is Crash Holy. :D

James Steele 06-11-2015 05:37 PM

I wish they had Sunday Night HeAT on the WWE Network.

SlickyTrickyDamon 06-11-2015 05:38 PM

I'd like to watch a few of those early ones with Shane o Mac as the announcer.

What about Kid Rock's that seemed to get over with the crowd. Plus Joe C helped Too Cool become tag team champions

Is it worse than the theme they gave Jesse after he was repackaged as "Slam Master 'J'", Cryme Tyme's "white friend"?

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9NQCoISQItE

That's an even lower bar.

The Wrestling Observer has an update on the injured WWE Superstar and former tag team champion Tyson Kidd. Kidd sustained a spinal cord injury in his dark match with Samoa Joe before Raw last week. Kidd will likely need to undergo surgery to treat the injury, which could put him out of action for a year or possibly longer.

Tyson Kidd has reportedly received calls from WWE Hall of Famers Steve Austin and Edge, who gave him some moral support and advice. The report mentions that it is a possibility he might have to undergo a fusion surgery similar to what Austin and Edge had for their necks.

Per the report, Kidd’s injury was apparently a fluke and not a result of how Samoa Joe executed the muscle buster.

ROH at 8pm: 161,000
TNA at 9pm: 330,000
ROH at 11pm: 138,000
Viewership for this week's ROH and TNA shows. Both were slightly up compared to last week but still favors ROH more than TNA at the moment.

A source noted to PWInsider that a potential deal between WWE and WWN, the parent company of EVOLVE and FIP, would see WWN continue to sign top indie talents to deals that now would include licensing and merchandising, so if and when WWE wants to bring that talent to NXT, they won't have the hassle of having to secure the different rights from other third parties. There's talk that if an indie talent has signed a third party merchandising deal with any kind of exclusivity, then WWE wouldn't be interested in signing them. As we noted yesterday, there will always be exceptions to the rule as there are with any rules.

Another big part of the story is Florida-based SHINE Wrestling, WWN's women's wrestling group. With WWE pushing the NXT Divas division, they are interested in having a group of women they can have "official access" to for potential use in NXT.

The basic idea is that WWE, under an official relationship with WWN, would be able to pick up and sign any WWN talents without outside hassles. The deal is nowhere close to being done and there's no guarantee that it will be completed but the talks are ongoing.
Update on the recent rumors regarding a possible WWE-WWN deal being made.

Steve Austin noted on his “Unleashed” podcast today that he is scheduled for 11 more podcast specials on the WWE Network and would indicate that they worked out a one-year deal for a podcast per month on the network. In the press release last month, the WWE noted that Sting and The Undertaker are scheduled to do the show but no dates were given for those interviews
Hulk Hogan is also among the group for those final 11 Network podcasts.

Some other sheet news includes:
  • Recent article from Grantland focused on Kevin Owens and his rise to stardom since his WWE debut. http://grantland.com/the-triangle/ww...vince-mcmahon/
  • For those in the UK and were interested in the RevPro show, Ricochet got pulled out of this Sunday's show due to passport issues. Also has Vias issues with Japan so won't be returning to NJPW either until that gets settled.
  • Big O was among the first to get eliminated from the Top 40 finalists for the upcoming Tough Enough season. https://twitter.com/WWEToughEnough/s...72225584877568

Yea sucks for Cesaro as well.

Black Widow 06-11-2015 10:36 PM

I think putting Lana and Cesaro together is a good idea.

Volare 06-11-2015 10:57 PM

Cesaro/Ryback IC title.

Simple Fan 06-11-2015 11:04 PM

Cesaro/Ryback would be a good feud. Lana and Cesaro doesn't seem like a bad idea either, Rusev vs Cesaro would be better than him and Ziggler in my opinion.
