That 2000 WWF roster is top to bottom the best roster of talent in history. Everything was over. It was a group all hitting its stride at the same time. Rock, Austin, HHH, Mankind, Taker, Kane, Big Show and Angle could all main event. Guys like Jericho, Benoit, Regal, X Pac were having fantastic matches on the undercard and the tag division had Edge and Christian, The Hardyz, Dudleyz, APA, Holly's, Too Cool. Even guys like Kaientai were over.

What a great year 2000 was.

I don;t remember much about wrestling from the year 2000 other than the fact Wrestlemania 2000 sucked ass with the exception of the tag ladder match. Looking at the card now, I don't remember that IC/Euro title match, maybe this was good as well. But the main event was awful.

My friend just introduced me to Pluto TV. It's a free app that streams a bunch of HD channels. One of the channels is called Impact, and it's all classic TNA stuff. I'm watching Lockdown 2012 right now. Kinda cool.

This match is bitter sweet. Have no problem with HHH going over here because, well, he was an absolute machine at the time and he made Jericho look like a million bucks.

But from this point up until his feud with Shawn Michaels over half a decade later, Jericho never really reached these heights as a credible threat. And he was SO CLOSE. This match should have 100% been Jericho's permanent ticket into the main event scene, and realistically he was feuding with fucking X-Pac weeks later and a perennial mid-carder.

It's a hidden classic, and if people watched it now, may be one of their favourite matches of all time.

I've been randomly picking PPVs to watch on the Network based on the poster art. I've found myself at Armageddon 08. The first thing I'm noticing is how much harder they used to hit each other in the Attitude Era, especially after watching Judgment Day 2000 last night. I'm not one of those THE ATTITUDE ERA WAS SOOO MUCH BETTER guys, but I can see how people say that.

Continuing on with my WWF 1984 rewatch. Just finishing the last episode of the month of May. Murdoch and Adonis are your new tag champs, Piper just cracked Snuka with a coconut and the first mentions of Cyndi Lauper have occurred. May was a pretty great month.

I wonder if Dakota Kai would like to attend spring formal with me. Also, it's important to mention that Layla was a smoke show in 2008.

That might be the peak of their popularity considering Rikishi's heel turn happens a few months later.

They were hot for a while, I think well past Judgment Day. But honestly, if you think about it... the Kishi heel turn signifies the end of WWF's streak of amazing decisions in the main event. Mind you, it was still really good until the Invasion.

And of course I was live at the InVasion PPV in Cleveland. This may have all been my fault. :(

Invasion itself was fine from what I can remember. It's the storyline as a whole that was botched. After WM X7 the product realllly started dipping but was still decent. But the Booker T vs. Buff Bagwell main event really got the shit ball rolling. Invasion and Summerslam were both good ppvs, but the RAWs in between weren't any good IIRC (minus a few shining moments) and then it was in free fall mode by Unforgiven.

Big problem was Steve Austin as a heel. I mean, fuck, he was an amazing heel and was still one of the best performers on the show but WWE's heart and soul was a babyface Stone Cold.
