Why....

Lock Jaw 06-07-2015 03:30 PM

Simon Dean has his patented Simon System, while Stevie Richards has become a certified DDP Yoga instructor.

Lock Jaw 06-07-2015 03:47 PM

In an unrelated note, I want them to do a backstage bit where someone like Bo Dallas or somebody goes to the patent office to try to make their maneuver "patented".

Lock Jaw 06-07-2015 03:49 PM

Or he goes to the patent office and patents someone else's maneuver. Like Adrian Neville doesn't have the patent for the Red Arrow, so Bo goes and gets it. Then even though he can't use the maneuver himself, he threatens legal action against Neville for using a move that he holds the patent on.

Would be a hot angle.

#1-norm-fan 06-07-2015 04:09 PM

And then Neville gets his revenge...

Dallas is in the ring and tells Neville he can find other ways to wins his matches. He just has to Bo-lieve! Neville responds by threatening legal action of his own... as he now owns the trademark for the "Bo-lieve" catchphrase leaving Bo an awkward mess every time he tries to finish his promos.

Nicky Fives 06-07-2015 04:42 PM

I've always thought a "move thief" heel would be a great storyline to start them off and essentially writes itself....They can have their own finisher and they hit it every match, but then elect to get the win by hitting the finisher of their opponent, just to "add insult to injury"....first feud could simply be a face claiming "you'll never hit me with my own move"....

That was something Rollins should have done after he banned the RKO and then used it on Orton himself. Next night on RAW he should have produced a slip of paper saying he got the patent on it so Orton can't use it.

Lock Jaw 06-07-2015 05:23 PM

I want the absurd backstage skit with them physically AT the patent office trying to explain how they want to patent a rassling move, though.

Mr. Nerfect 06-07-2015 05:43 PM

The more I think about it, the more I just want them to run Seth Rollins vs. Brock Lesnar in Japan. I also hope that they turn Roman Reigns heel at Money in the Bank and feud him against Ambrose, but I know that's not going to happen.

Mr. Pierre 06-07-2015 06:43 PM

I can see Reigns winning MITB as the first step in creating a Shield triple threat for Mania. Ambrose wins the Rumble, Reigns does the stand-up thing and announces his plans to join.

Mr. Nerfect 06-07-2015 06:53 PM

That's how I can see them taking things. I'd rather have Reigns use his briefcase at SummerSlam and join Seth Rollins and Brock Lesnar in the main event there.

Out of all the people in the current batch of NXT tryouts, pretty safe to assume Jessicka Havok isn't going to get a deal.

Supposedly the WWE or someone else did a social media check on her and found a lot of racist and offensive tweets. They were all from years ago but for some odd reason she never bothered to get rid of them. Also ranged from shitty racist jokes to really horrible stuff (ex. Briscoe Bros level stuff that killed all interest the WWE had with them).

Quote:

Apparently the company and everyone at the tryouts found out about the offensive tweets while Havok was in the ring.

Mr. Nerfect 06-07-2015 07:51 PM

That sucks for her, but she should take responsibility for those.

Emperor Smeat 06-07-2015 08:13 PM

She sort of did then backtracked on the apology part.

Quote:

As we mentioned yesterday, former TNA Knockout Havok had been at the center of controversy surrounding tweets from years ago that featured racist and homophobic remarks.

Havoc apologized for the comments, but later deleted the apology. She's been at the Performance Center in Orlando for a WWE tryout this week. She also deleted the offensive tweets in question.

According to Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Radio, Havoc had been impressing those who were conducting the tryouts in Orlando. Many were comparing her to the likes of Awesome Kong/Kharma, and were very optimistic about her future.

Apparently the company and everyone at the tryouts found out about the offensive tweets while she was in the ring. Dave Meltzer noted that the situation did her no favors, and Alvarez described it as the "roof caving in." The hosts then encouraged up-and-coming wrestlers to not say stupid things on Twitter.

The 28-year old Havok spent a few months with TNA before finishing up with the company in February.
Briscoe Bros were in a very similar situation where the WWE was really interested in signing them but unlike with Havok, the homophobic tweets were done right as the WWE was preparing for their upcoming tryout and/or meeting. Don't think they ever apologized for it though.

That was a couple of years ago and the WWE was recently interested in them again but they reupped with ROH

The closest angle I can remember to that was when Stevie Ray had J Biggs (Clarence Mason) as his lawyer suing Booker T. Somehow the end result was Booker T becoming just "Booker", no longer being allowed to use the Harlem Heat theme, and having to change his finishing moves.

Hard to believe he won the World Title just a few months later.

Didn't notice you mentioned it already. My bad. Was catching up in order.

But he also "lost the right" to wear flames on his attire, so he wore generic black trunks, and his theme was also property of Harlem Heat (tm), so they replaced it with the Leave It To Beaver theme.

Does anyone think a Monk would be a cool wrestling character....he can be announced as "From the monastery..." and can use a candle as a foreign object to burn people
