i'm probably the only want who wants to see Jeff Jarrett and Hulk Hogan each have one more match at a Wrestlemania.

Emperor Smeat 04-03-2018 11:54 PM

Based on data from the Observer, this year's Road to Mania for RAW actually managed to break the years long streak of the current year doing worse than the previous year's Road period.

The biggest reasons were RAW having fewer declining weeks and the RAW 25 show doing mega numbers.

In regards to the go-home episode, the decline was due to it competing with last year's RAW After Mania show.

and Monday was the end of March Madness

Emperor Smeat 04-04-2018 01:15 AM

WWE actually caught a huge break since this year's NCAA championship game barely affected the numbers for this week's RAW. Also helped this year's title game wasn't on CBS unlike last year.

Jarrett could probably wrestle another match.

Hogan should never be allowed near a ring ever

slik 04-04-2018 09:30 AM

I hope Hogan is the new GM of RAW or SDLive

Big Vic 04-04-2018 09:32 AM

Me too. Less desire to ever watch Raw and Smackdown again and not waste time.

Sixx 04-04-2018 09:54 AM

This again?

Keep Hogan away from wrestling for good.

slik 04-04-2018 10:11 AM

Hogan deserves a good final run in the 'E in some role.
He's the biggest name in the history of pro-wrestling.

Sixx 04-04-2018 10:17 AM

How many final runs can one have? Fuck's sake.

slik 04-04-2018 10:20 AM

His last one was interrupted b/c of his sex tape. Glad he dropped the big boot on Gawker.

Hogan should get a final run as a GM and then a huge send-off as big if not bigger than Flair got. For a company that honors Andre and Warrior each year, it wouldn't be right to not acknowledge the Hulkster in some way. Hogan, Savage and Warrior were the biggest stars of the era that redefined pro-wrestling.

I'd rather they didn't honour the Warrior either tbh rather than add bullshit.

It's time to move on.

Simple Fan 04-04-2018 10:35 AM

I'd like to see Hogan back. I think he will be the Smackdown GM after Bryan quits to wrestle. Hogan vs Cena next year at Wrestlemania.

Sixx 04-04-2018 10:39 AM

I used to be a huge Hogan mark, mainly watched WCW because of him. But seriously, fuck off already. Stay home, brother.

Rammsteinmad 04-04-2018 11:04 AM

Hogan had his "one last run" back in 2002.

I'd say the most important wrestlers in the history of pro-wrestling are:

HOGAN
Ric Flair
The Rock
Steve Austin
John Cena
Undertaker

Cases could be made for Shawn Michaels, Macho, Steamboat and Andre as well. I don't know that anyone before the WWF boom of the 80's really has much influence after WM/WWF became a thing.

Jordan 04-04-2018 03:35 PM

My opinion on Hogan. Yeah I want Hogan back as a fan but as a person he's truly a piece of shit. He's lied and manipulated and been nothing but selfish as far as I can tell his entire life. He's not a good person, has plenty of morality issues and is racist. He was caught saying NIGGER with HARD R repeatedly with the obvious perception that he was better than anyone who is black. So you really think he deserves anything? He should be thankful for the success that was given to him by Verne and then Vince, he doesn't deserve anything.

Jordan 04-04-2018 03:36 PM

He needs to earn his way back. Put himself out there as a person being positive and good. Go to church with Sting, visit the elderly and sick, truly make a heart felt apology for his actions. He fucked himself, and WWE is good for being strong in sticking to their guns.

Better looking knee move than the one Rollins uses. The standing version Rollins uses with the Rainmaker setup never came off as an impactful strike especially as a finisher.

Omega's version looks better. More solid looking connection.

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/IjVQZ9WPUHw" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Would argue though that the move is helped by good selling, and the people I've seen Omega hit it on, generally do a much better job than the people seth has hit it on.

Coincidentally, that knee Buddy Murphy is using is the latest innovation from Kota Ibushi.

Emperor Smeat 04-04-2018 10:21 PM

Yeah the selling of Rollins move is a big problem. Also doesn't help Rollins move looks way too slow or weak as a finisher. If he ditched the Rainmaker hold and went with Triple H's style for knee strikes, it would look a lot better.

With Omega, he has different ways of connecting with the V-Trigger and the most vicious being when he gets the snapping effect from the running version. Same with Ibushi's impact coming from his follow through with the knee.

Gonna be like Wrestlemania 20 out there

Emperor Smeat 04-05-2018 12:56 AM

Rumor going around the net is Rusev has been asking for his release the past several weeks and WWE adding him into the IC match at Mania is likely their way of convincing him to stay.

PWI reported they've heard of rumblings of Rusev being very unhappy for a while over the lack of direction for his career especially with his Rusev Day gimmick not leading to any real notable improvements.

Right... Go watch 205 Live and see how Kalisto and Buddy Murphy, with no promotion from any main show, wake up a bored and tired crowd with a fucking awesome match.
Leave the old man in the retirement home where he belongs.

They did cool stuff but no one is going to pay attention to them outside of the most ardent fans.

HULK HOGAN and VINCE MCMAHON are the reason cruiserweights even exist. They are the only reason any wrestling exists after 1984. No one can say if Japan or Mexico's organizations would have ever caught on worldwide if Vince didn't create the option of wrestling being global. If not for Vince and Hogan wrestling would have plodded along as a mortuary for restholds.

Fignuts 04-05-2018 04:20 AM

Can Hogan do 630 leg drop?

Then fuck em'.

Great. It's not 1984 anymore. They can both retire.

#BROKEN Hasney 04-05-2018 06:07 AM

Although Gertner is living in 1984 wrestling wise exclusively ha

Ol Dirty Dastard 04-05-2018 07:11 AM

I mean there'd be no Hulk Hogan or Vince McMahon without *insert laundry list of legends ie. Bruno Sammartino*

The only fucking difference is those guys finally went away and let other people shine and didn't feel the need to remind everyone they laid the groundwork.

Bad News Gertner 04-05-2018 07:26 AM

I hope Hogan cashes in his Money in the Bank briefcase at Wrestlemania and does a double leg drop on Styles and Nakamura.

They'd finally have a Champ that is over.

Bruno is important in the sense he kept the WWWF afloat and was really popular and drew big gates at MSG regularly (sold out the Garden) and w/o him the WWWF wouldn't have existed to be purchased by Vincent Kennedy McMahon.

Roman Reigns is a better wrestler than Bruno Sammartino though.

Lol. I don't want Hogan back, but lol.

slik 04-05-2018 08:29 AM

Punches, Kicks, Bodyslams, Bearhugs

Bruno should return to RAW and cut a promo thanking HOGAN, CENA and THE BIG DOG ROMAN REIGNS for evolving the sport past this by adding the 'wow' factor and entertainment:

Meltzer loved these two matches and rated them big in the Observer:

Rollins vs Balor: 4.25 stars

Murphy vs Kalisto: 4 stars

Big Vic 04-05-2018 09:17 AM

Wish I paid more attention to Rollins vs Balor when it was on.

Bad News Gertner 04-05-2018 10:39 AM

Lol Smackdown ratings dropped the week before Wrestlemania

Maybe they do need Hogan to save the show.

#1-norm-fan 04-05-2018 12:34 PM

Is Cena vs Taker happening or not? I thought it had been confirmed but after seeing some talk of Cena being in the battle royal, I checked the Wikipedia page and there's no mention of Taker vs Cena.

If it is happening, this is a horrible job promoting a match even by WWE standards. If it isn't happening, it's a horrible waste of Cena and the hinting at the match was retarded.

Big Vic 04-05-2018 12:38 PM

Maybe WWE was actually trying to convince taker the whole time.

slik 04-05-2018 12:40 PM

Damn...sounds like WWE roster just hanging out in French Quarter and people keep running into them...wish I was already in New Orleans...would mark to see a wrestler drunk af but pretending not to be so they didn't get in trouble

Big Vic 04-05-2018 12:41 PM

What match are people most excited about?

DB/Shane vs KO/Sami for me

slik 04-05-2018 12:42 PM

I'm thinking that Cena never gets Taker in the ring, but Taker is in New Orleans.....

Cena finds him in the street and continues to call him a coward, and then eventually goads him into a fight on the street, where he gets his ass kicked.

slik 04-05-2018 01:12 PM

Taker vs Cena is definitely happening

They wouldn't have spent weeks promoting it via Cena's good promo's otherwise
It's the one year they can get away w/o announcing it like normal b/c the card is so stacked and people are already tuning in

Big Vic 04-05-2018 01:44 PM

Taker will come out on Raw and accept his challenge for next year at Mania.

Cena will be sat ringside at some point in the night, Kid Rock performs a song, then starts up ‘American Badass’, enter Bikertaker, start match/fight.

Seems it could be one of those last minute decisions by Vince since one rumored plan involves this year's Mania just being the setup for a match next year. Another rumored plan is to just have them in a segment but no match in order to keep Reigns status as the one who retired Taker intact.

WWE's been recently promoting Taker-Cena as something you need to watch all of Mania to actually find out if it happens or not.
