When he's trapped in a corner, I do a full circle with the stick and then press one of the punch buttons just as he's getting up. That grabs people and tosses them across the screen. The oilier you are, the easier it is to grab them. Oiling up doesn't seem as needed as they made it seem but it does help. I do a small oiling up at the start of the match and a bigger oil up after a focus attack.

I've been playing Hakan a lot. At first I wasn't so sure but after actually trying to learn his moves, I think he's pretty great. He's like Zangief enough that I feel comfortable but he has advantages Zangief couldn't dream off. Like ducking or absorbing projectiles quickly. Plus he's faster and has a move for every situation I can think of.

Juri is pretty cool to. Didn't think she's be my style but I find her usable, even if I'm not as good with her as some will be.

What is with fighting games giving every male ninja character that weird grab Guy in SF and Hyabusa in DOA have? The one where they grab people in mid air and fall down to the ground. It looks like a mid air german suplex/piledriver thing. Every male ninja I've seen in fighting games has that move.

wow, i just witnessed an epic comeback care of blitz...holyshit, that was awesome.

Damn yeah getting my ass kicked all night but incredible match with Roxer's Dee Jay. Came back from a sliver of health both rounds to win, even dodged an ultra and a super in the last round.

Blitz like, literally had a sliver of health compared to Roxer's 3/4 full health...it was very Matrixish the way he kept dodging the hits and landing. That was replay worthy...if i knew how to save replays.

This fucking game I swear to god. Freezes every other time on loading screen. I've dismantled my xbox, vaccumed the dust, cleaned the eye and still fucks up. Fucks up less but still fucks up.

It's a network within this block of flats and I'm behind a Strict NAT so the connection craps out every 3 minutes and I get disconnected.

I'm currently tethering my iPhone so I can re-download a lot of my XBLA games, but the speed fluctuates so massively that I can't play online.

I know you're going to try and attempt to fix it, but you can't on my side. The ISP is downstairs in this apartment complex and is essentially one giant router behind 2 firebricks (that are not using default passwords :shifty:)

well find out if your router, or whatever the main router is, has something called 'static dhcp'. If it does, get your xbox360 mac address, log into the router, click static dhcp, punch in your mac address and a static IP you want to give your xbox, and open the ports to that IP address.

Yeah, except I can't log into the router.

It's cool, they sort it out eventually and it works for 3 months until the connection goes down and the reset the settings :foc:

The grab does not work if the person isn't stupid enough to stand right next to you as you are standing. Roxer always made sure to backdash on me on stand-up. Its honestly not good defense, and it still misses easily.

Yeah so almost got this for 360 today, but they were all out, so I got it for ps3. Turned out to be a great decision as I had a blast playing at my friend's house. Pretty much reinforces my opinion of local multi trumping online.

That said, I do enjoy the additions made to online. Although the absence of player matches is annoying. Yeah you can play endless battle, but if you lose, you have to wait 5 or 6 matches to play again. Kinda lame.

As for the new characters, the only one I've really sunk my teeth into is dudley, and I'm loving him. He might actually replace abel as my number 1. He's just got a whole bunch of ways to chain into his super and ultra, and they aren't even hard to pull off.

And speaking of Abel, I'm loving his new ultra. Don't think I've ever hit his normal focus attack/ultra combo in SF4, but this new one is much easier. A lot of characters in fact, have a much more useful ultra than their first one.

Also, Makoto seems utterly terrible. Just absolutely abysmal.

So who besides 44 bought this for ps3? Anyone?

Tried but most people leave when they see it's only two people. Apparently a lot of people enjoy waiting. Whatever, it's not a huge gripe or anything. Since I don't give a fuck about battle points, I can just do ranked, and if I lose, oh well.

I bought it for PS3. Can't stand using the 360 pad and I'm not "hardcore" enough to splurge for the fight stick.

Honestly, I was anticipating using the PS3 pad, as I've always preferred it for fighting games, but I really am not seeing any difference with this game. Think I'm finally going to spring for that TE stick, next paycheck.

I lost a ridiculous amount yesterday. I kept getting challenges from the same people over and over, and I had decided to accept challenges from anyone. I think I won two matches and lost 20 or so. Lost a ton to the computer as Hakan too. Even the comp stomps me in the corner. Getting a little better at staying oiled though.

Yeah, I need a LOT more practice with Dudley. Took him online and went 1-6. My Abel however, is slowly shaking off the rust from not playing this in so long, and I'm winning a lot more than losing with him again. Even consistantly beating people, who honestly, seem like they're a little better at the game.

Fuck though, got put in an endless battle room with a bunch of people who clearly spend most of their free time with this game, and got raped. Left after 2 matches.

Since leaving SFIV, the online talent has obviously gotten better. I didn't see one flowchart, and I saw a nice mix of different characters.

I saw Bison the most, surprisingly.

I have only seen one ken online, and he was a scrub who couldn't even pull off the input for the haduken. Pretty great how varied the competition has been. I've even seen a dhalsim.

Dhalsim is much more legit now. I've had fun messing around with him. His U2 is hard as hell to connect with though. Missed when I played Funky about four times before finally hitting him once.

His first is pretty tough as well. I've actually seen a couple good makoto players, but even then, they got smoked. Honestly think she needs to get fixed in a patch, because it seems even in capable hands, she's pretty bad. They should at least make her as good as she was in 3rd strike, because right now, she definitely isn't.

You've clearly yet to meet a half-decent Makoto. Khuntri will ice your ass with her, and she's not anywhere near his main.

Ugh. I just do not have the coordination to pull off a lot of these combos in very small window you are given. Think the stick will help, but there's definitely a limit to how good L can get. Doesn't really bother me, since I'm not a hardcore gamer, but it would be nice to be able to finish the challenges.

youre not the only one...i seriously am stuck on Adon's High punch/low kick combo...

Yeah like even the simplest combos have ridiculous timing. I actually find linking into supers sometimes easier than those two hit normal move combos.
