I was down with Oprah as Amanda Waller but that right there...

Heath Ledger comparisons will be made. |
thats interesting.

Wait, so is this Suicide Squad cast official?
Will Smith, Tom Hardy, Jared Leto and lil' John McClane? If it is, then fuck me, never saw that coming. Expected those rumours to be total bullshit. |
How much is Will Smith being paid for this is the real question everyone should be asking.
He ain't the summer blockbuster draw he used to be. |
Here's hoping they've actually got a solid, entertaining flick on their hands instead of hoping for drawing power based on casting
Go on...guess which one WB is actually counting on people coming to see this movie. I'll be in the corner giggling insanely.
Was kinda hoping Hardy was reprising his role as Bane...not sure how that would work, but it seems they're sorta telling us to just forget everything before this point in their cinematic universe, so whatevs.
It will be kinda weird and if they're able to double dip I say give Angela Basette another shot at Amanda Waller. The real 'female Nick Fury with less morals' version.
Read the article where Christian Bale talked about Affleck as Batman.... and I'm thinking, fuck you Bale, the fans begged and pleaded (and the studio) for you to reprise the role, and you said that you were finished... And now you're jealous and that it saying it was possible you would have returned as Batman? That is irritating as tits!
Yeah I thought that was strange. You either wanna be the Bat or not dammit.
Still would rather have had Brolin as Bat/Bruce.
Fuck it, he's Thanos. All is well.
Krypton set TV series is totally happening.
like from the movie?
TV series for SyFy about Superman's grandfather.
I hope they can make it good, but I don't have high hopes. |
sounds weird but i'll have an open mind about it
I guess if there's any channel to do a TV show about aliens from a comic book, Syfy would be the place to do it.
I think this has more potential to be good than Gotham, because there's not as much room for pointless name-dropping ("Ooooh, here's a young Harvey Dent, Selina Kyle, Edward Nygma, etc.") so they'd actually have to try to make the setting and characters themselves unique and interesting. Plus, from what I've heard, it's taking place on the Man of Steel version of Krypton, and those were some of the only really good parts about that movie, so yeah, I'd kinda like to see more of it-- as long as the whole thing isn't just about a young Jor-El palling around with General Zod or whatever. |
That's funny because Man of Steel established precisely that were cool when they were younger.
Personally, I hope that it isn't the Man of Steel version of Krypton. I finally want to see a more vibrant/colourful version done in live action...
That Aquaman one makes him look like he's giving the killer whale a big uppercut.
At least he still doesn't have a hook hand
Batman DOESN'T get the Beetlejuice homage?!?
To be fair, Deadman is probably a closer analogue to Beetlejuice than Batman, what with him being a ghost and all.
haha those are awesome
Viola Davis announced as Amanda Waller in suicide squad film.
BTW, DC has cancelled the following books:
Aquaman and the Others Infinity Man and the Forever People Klarion Secret Origins Star-Spangled War Stories Featuring G.I. Zombie Trinity of Sin Worlds’ Finest Arkham Manor Batwoman Green Lantern Corps Green Lantern: New Guardians Red Lanterns Swamp Thing |
Damn, I really liked Batwoman and Swamp Thing. Surprised all the secondary GL books went down too, considering Johns has such a hard-on for the Lantern mythos.
I think Swamp Thing went downhill after Snyder left.... way behind in it, so it could have become better again.
DC has canceled 61 books since Nu52 started. That's 30 books in three years.
And that's terrible. |
No I love Batwoman (reading it now in fact)
Oprah is not Waller. I goofed.
This woman is Amanda Waller: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0krt08C4dn...spot.com-5.jpg |
That is a v-neck if there ever was one.
I didn't pick that shot for my own vice, either, she wears a lot of low cut tops.
I heard that whole thing in Kevin Conroy's voice in my head
I read all of Batman's lines in comics as Conroy. Unless he's drawn by Jim Lee, then I imagine the Young Justice guy.
same here and yea i do shift to Bruce Greenwood very now and then
but its not intentional |
The guy's good.
No Jason O Mara?
Eh.
Vixen getting her own animated series apparently....
http://www.comicbookresources.com/im...en-1-0fa87.jpg |
Is it in the CW-verse? Those costumes look very close to live-action. Also, CW has a cartoon block?
It is in the CW-verse.... it will be on something called "CW Seed" which may or may not be an only-online thing. Too lazy to research.
Also there is very talks with a general idea for a spin off of The Atom.
I suppose there might be some advantage to riding that Ant-Man wave.
Always liked vixen.
One of my favorite JLA moments is her single handedly taking out Amazo. |
Animal Man cooler
He's definitely had the better written book, but Vixen has more of an "edge" to her. More badass.
I think the "family man" superhero would be a good fit right now in the CW-verse where Arrow is all about isolating himself from romantic relationships, and advising Flash to do the same....
Yeah, it's going to at least start online only and it's in the CW verse.
There are also discussions of an... SPOILER: show |
With talk of Supergirl possibly being in the same universe, this could get very awesome very fast.
Just got done with "Throne of Atlantis which should be called "Why you don't fuck with Aquaman". The action and dialogue are great overall its a vast improvement over Justice League WAR I give it 8/10
One important thing here that I love NO BATMAN like he doesn't even get into physical fights in this one.I say its great because it was still an awesome story told about a very underrated hero and didn't need Batman to prop it up which I think DC thinks they need to do most of the time. Its also weird just how central Cyborg has been lately |
During Nu52, DC decided they needed to focus on something other then the Trinity of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman. So they set up a dart board, put all their characters on it, and threw a dart at someone. Cyborg was chosen to be the focus of Nu52 for some...reason hence why he's so central. At least at first.

Stephen Amell is awesome for doing the voice work. And no, there doesn't seem to be a Flash TV themed DLC in the future. Yet. Maybe. They're secretive. |
Why would they call it Batman vs. Robin? Seems very weird.... Especially since there was another storyline called Batman vs. Robin.
DLC still the worst thing ever
O'Mara must be doing something right they keep asking him back.
Tom Hardy is out of Suicide Squad due to scheduling conflicts.
Jake Gyllenhaal might be in line to replace him though. |
That guy's been itching to do a DC movie for years (only to see his sister land a big one before him). Good for him if he gets it.

Meh.

One team-up and one Batman movie. That's the deal, says DC.
They really think no one has the desire to see the other heros in their lineup?
I mean Marvel proved you can market virtual unknowns. This is a bad idea . |
$$$
And in any case, we're living in a time where Green Arrow is a hot TV show. DC slowly but surely digs into their roster. |
I hear Batman v. Ingrown Toenail is gonna be hot.
But that's always how DC has treated their AU. Batman teams up with whoever's hot a the moment. It's how they started and it'll be how they end.

Well like I said thats one reason I enjoyed Throne of Atlantis having Batman be a virtual non-entity. |
Yeah that kinda...perplexed me. Batman was barely in Throne of Atlantis and left me scratching my head a bit.
I don't think there is anything he could've contributed honestly....air support and piecing things together are kinda all he was good for.
Wait, so Hardy officially backed out of the Suicide Squad?
yessum
Didn't like the script, allegedly.

I still want to see a film noire-like action movie with the Question.
And a Lobo movie. And there has to be a Live song playing when he rides through space with his dolphins. |
I am honestly confused which character that New52 fucked up worse: Lobo or Amanda Waller.
While they've messed up the idea of Waller always being the HBIC what they've done to the main man is infuriating the sad part is some people actually like this abomination.

I read some panels of the new Lobo and... he's not emo. In fact he's still an asshole.
I like classic biker Lobo better and the new design is bleh but the Twilight-emo thing is a sign people didn't see the content. |
Oh I've been reading it I just don't like the way he looks
I was calling him Emobo because of the look.
I wouldn't call him a Twilight rip off, he looks more like Mr. Sinister's son. |
http://www.slashfilm.com/rumor-batman-suicide-squad/
Batman in Suicide Squad movie?? say whaaaaaaat? |
lol @ Kira.
The laugh was just some fun about your recent issues with DC's Bat-mania and here's a rumor that Bruce may rear his pointy cowl in a movie.
Like I said I love Batman to an unhealthy degree but....well put it this way Superman supposedly is the leader of the league and at the forefront for DC but its clear their poster boy is Batman.
I might be being too critical,Marvel does not have their heavy hitters so they had to make new ones. I'm sure if they had control of the likes of Spider man and Wolverine They'd be plastered all over the screen and Capt America would still be a day player that hardly anyone who didn't read up on him would give a flying fuck about. |

He's the most popular character... By far.
Why is this a surprise? |
I'd prefer Slade.
Especially if it's epic bad ass Slade. Like some elite military unit is sent in, Splinter Cell style with Night vision and everything, to apprehend a high priority target. Early in the mission, a shot is fired. They return fire, but nothing, no one was hurt. One troop notices his goggles are malfunctioning, so he switches to a flashlight. Fellow troops warn him about what happens when flash lights meet night vision. They find the target in a warehouse. Half of the team go in to secure the target, including flashlight guy. The rest secure the area. They black bag and secure him. They call the outside team, tell them they have who they're looking for. They hear a "10-4," but the voice sounds unfamiliar. Suddenly, Floodlights go on, blinding the unit. We see faint glimpses of a figure, but no too much going on to see what happened (I'll actually allow for shaky cam here). Flashlight guy is the only one left. He faces a man in orange and black, with a mask that reveals but one eye. Flashlight guy raises his gun, but a quick flash of steel and the gun is on the ground, alongside the victim's severed hand. Flashlight guy is in shock, and he asks... "How?" It is then we see highlights from the entire mission, through the eye of Deathstroke. He is the one who fired the shot, which disabled Flashlight guy's night vision. He was gone before they could even return fire. He tracked them from just out of sight, using the light from the flash light to follow their movements. As the securing group was searching the premises, he was taking them out one by one. He was finally the one who turned on the floodlight, and in the chaos, him taking out the remaining unit with his sword and gun. We finally see Slade standing over Flashlight Guy, who is frantically trying not to bleed out from his severed hand. One round to the back of the head from Deathstroke ends it. He removes the black bag and the target thanks him for the rescue. Slade asks his name. The target gives it to him. Slade replies "Just the man I was looking for..." and beheads him. It turns out that the target was on Slade's hit list. He dealt with the Elite Unit to secure his getaway. Or something like that. |
So....it sounds like they're just doing a live-action version of that "Assault on Arkham" animated movie from last year. And I mean, that was good and all, but couldn't we make our Suicide Squad movie actually about the fucking Suicide Squad? I'm not holding out hope that it'd be even remotely faithful to the comics, but can we please get one corner of the DC Universe that doesn't have Batman stank all over it?
Some chick named "Melissa Benoist" cast as Supergirl

Guess that worked out well for her. |
