I was just thinking that I'd much prefer Rusev to win the Universal Title from Brock Lesnar than Roman Reigns. Have Rusev win The Greatest Royal Rumble and use the title shot to switch brands and challenge for the belt at Money in the Bank in Chicago. Cool the jets with Reigns a little. Rusev beats Brock and becomes the new god of wrestling.

Brock's final match at SummerSlam (providing he doesn't re-sign) is him putting over AJ Styles.

I liked it. I also appreciate how Austin still give Bret the same respect he probably gave him in 96/97. He doesn't act like a bigger deal, more insightful, they all just like to listen to Bret, because even though he rambles, he speaks a lot of truth. Was just watching some Smoky Mountain Wrestling, and Jim Cornette is cutting this great promo about an upcoming Rage in a Cage Match. It's very similar to War Games -- two teams of ten and you can only win by submission or handcuffing each member of the opposing team to the cage. But there's a nice little diversion in that the order of entry is designated by whomever has the advantage at the 5-minute mark. So, ideally, you'd have your babyface kick ass for 4 minutes, only for the heel to cheat and gain control just at that moment to begin a 2-on-1 beat-down.

I'd never heard of that stipulation before, and I thought it was quite nifty. They don't do War Games anymore, but if they did, something like that instead of a coin toss is pretty cool.

I'm pretty sure he got that from Continental.

That wouldn't surprise me. Cornette isn't the most innovative booker in history, and prefers to take stuff that works and adapt it.

I don't like the variable of the coin flip being determined on the fly like that. Even if it's a kayfabe fly. Who's calling the shot as to who has the advantage? And what constitutes as an advantage? What if they guys are just trading shots like Ishii and Suzuki? You can't even offer that option and that's trouble because now are you limiting the results in a very fake shitty way.

Like this would work for me during the John Laurinaitis era. He could've fucked over the faces and had them totally outnumbered for like 2 or 3 rounds until the babyface captain grabs him and hold's him over the stage to make him call for him to enter next. And then shove him off through some tables, go in and help even the score. It's Roman Reigns btw...

The coin toss is something that always took me out of War Games matches a bit. I mean, the heels HAD to win the coin toss. There's literally no way a match of that structure could work if the faces had the advantage every 5 minutes. But even in an environment where you have to suspend your disbelief, it seemed kinda dumb that the heels won the 50/50 coin toss 100% of the time.

That's true, and that plot hole is a great example of the difference in WWE and WCW/southern booking. Not to say WWE can't be accused of plot holes in the past, the coin flip is totally a southern thing. I prefer not to have to suspend my disbelief beyond the parameters already set out when sitting down to watch wrestling. For me the advantage should be decided in a match before the show between the captains or before the match. Or if they had two strong looking guys maybe an arm wrestling match. Or a tug of war between teams.

Seems WWE really is committed to Hogan staying banned at least for a while longer.

People make mistakes, absolutely. I'm black and personally wouldn't mind him back, although honestly, my perception of him changed after that, and I know a lot of other people, not just black people, who feel the same.

In my own experiences, I've dealt with white people, people I've respected and grown up with, who I shared experiences with, who I thought were cool, understanding, and not hateful, and then found out what they truly thought of my race, my people, me, etc. I've mistakenly heard what they thought was a private conversation, and heard the same words from them that Hogan said. Did I forgive them? Absolutely. Did I fuck with them after that? Nah. My perception of them had changed. I was more hurt than anything. But forget? No. This is not me playing "oh woe is me" its just me stating a fact: If you are not black you do not know what that feels like to hear that word come out of a white persons mouth.

Everyone knew Hogan wasn't a saint before that, so no one was asking him to walk on water....but I think it's really, really, reaaaaaaallly easy to tell OTHER people how they should feel and that they should "forgive and forget" when you're not the one that was offended or targeted by what he said.

Assuming the stuff about WWE wanting to use the Hogan controversy simply to get sympathy for Hogan in the end, WWE is a lot better off from a PR perspective to just keep him banished.

WWE runs the big risk of it not coming off as sincere and making things a lot worse for them afterwards.

That's probably the next best to Hogan.

Just finished the month of April in my quest to watch all the WWF 1984 television as well as any house shows that I have in my collection. The Iron Shiek vs Sgt Slaughter feud is heating up and the angle with Cyndi Lauper is just starting. 1984 was such a fun year.

In 84 you have early Hogan title reign before he became obnoxious, Sheik vs Slaughter feud, Valentine vs Tito which is the greatest IC feud of all time, Snuka vs Piper feud, the whole Cyndi Lauper Angle, Adonis and Murdoch, plus it's interesting to watch the evolution of the company at the start of 84. It's my favourite year.

As horrible as WWE's booking toward Asuka vs Charlotte has been, Charlotte ending the streak COULD be good for the long term. Especially if they were to actually keep Charlotte strong and keep Asuka looking like the only one who can beat her is Charlotte. Just a random thought I had and decided to share with TPWW.

I think they are heading towards Asuka vs Ronda next year.

I think that would be cool. Roddy is a great babyface, though.

Mike Kanilles would be a great choice in my opinion. Strong not a bad choice though.

Wouldn't really need to go after new ROH guys since they do have Donovan Dijak waiting in the wings at NXT.

If they want Undisputed Era to continue being an ex-ROH stable, they could put him in it as Fish's filler for the time being.

Wouldn't really call Dijak a ROH guy though. Was only there for maybe a year and barley did anything. Had it not been for his time with the Hose of Truth his run with them would be totally forgettable. Aside from his finisher nothing really sticks out about the guy.

Well I'm fine with Big Show sticking around as long as he wants. It's really all about the booking. Should be the easiest guy to book in the history of the business. They can always restart the Big Show push if they want to. He's a great challenger when he goes on a rampage for a while. I'd be cool if they used Big Show on TV the same way they use Brock. He comes around every so often, rarely loses, and is a star destroyer.

OH man that would be my gimmick if I were a wrestler. The Star Destoryer, and I'd use the Imperial March as my theme. Do some Jediesque moves, including the force. Maybe I'd take over in DDT then conquer the states and become ROH Champ, everyone would say I'm too old for NXT by that point, hell I'll be close to 40 but those worries will quelled when I get the main spot against Roman in his last WM, they gotta have a new guy and I lied about my age on my papers.

I like Dijak, personally. Very athletic for his size.

Also, I WOULD call him an ROH guy, considering I have seen him literally nowhere else.

Dijak has a ton of potential.

Why do they keep trying to bring Del Rio back when you have Almas and Vega just sitting there?

1) I was expecting the 3Count green circles to show up at some point.

2) I couldn't not imagine CM Punks trunks-shitting story, and his Vince McMahon impression: "... and you're gonna get ALL WHITE GEARRR!"

Its due to Vince and WWE being absolutely terrible at developing a big Mexican star on their own. Vince's biggest weakness for a very long time has been his handling of lucha style wrestlers since its the one style that barely meshes with his preferred WWE style.

They got super lucky with Rey Mysterio and Del Rio due to WCW doing all the work beforehand for Mysterio and Del Rio being an established big star in Mexico prior to arriving in the WWE.

I mean, Almas seems to be coming along beautifully.

And I can't say enough about Zelena Vega. So good. So sexy. She's a star.

Almas has some really good big star potential but wouldn't be surprised at all if he fails on the main roster like Kalisto when it comes to them trying to building a big Mexican star on their own. Best case is him being a constant star in the IC/US scene.

If it wasn't for the spark Vega provided, he'd probably still be floundering in NXT because even they struggled to handle him well prior to the Vega pairing.

Almas speaks less English than Asuka.

He's got charisma but not enough to make up for that imo

I think this is is overall the strongest card for a WrestleMania since WM X-Seven.

Maybe? It's hard to say, because I love the lower card, but Cena/Taker, Roman/Brock and The Rousey match I give so few shits about and they're the biggest matches in terms of promotion. I think of they're all in the final chunk, it will make for a deflating experience.

I wonder what the point of the NXT North American title is? Is it like a "King of the indies" title? If so that's cool, that actually helps the NXT title be even bigger.
