There's a difference between "judging" someone, "disliking" their stance, and "disliking" them as a person.

You may wholeheartedly disagree, but there are times where someone's political views and stances say a lot about who they are as a person. If someone, for example, believes and supports traffic ticket quotas, even if the traffic stops are unjust, and higher fines in lower income black neighborhoods, that's their right. Do I judge them? No. Do I dislike that stance? Yes. Would the precipice of that stance make me dislike them as a person? Yes. Because the concept of that stance is absolutely fucked up. And if you believe in that stance, that very much affects me, or other people who share my skin color, yes, I'm going to dislike you because of that.

Simple Fan 02-17-2018 12:15 PM

Yeah, to hell with traffic ticket quotas and anyone who supports them.

It's been my experience that people will reveal themselves as assholes before their politics do. You'd probably found someone who supports such a thing will have revealed themselves as someone you don't like before you find that out about them.

In dollars, around 1.7 million. For a fucking car.

My experience has actually been the opposite on several occasions. One example of many, I had a particular friend of mine that was white and we had been friends for many years. Just a kind person. Honorable. Trustworthy. Then Obama ran in 08, and he began small by saying he didn't like certain policies. Then he didn't like certain things about his plans. A lot of his "arguments" seemed really forced like he was looking for a reason.

And then it was very offputting when he eventually admitted he didn't "want a black guy" in office because it made him uncomfortable because "you know what black people do" as well as "something might end up missing from the white house when he leaves." And he didn't use the term "black guy" either. It took a black guy possibly holding the biggest office in the land for him to show his true colors. Everything was all good when black people were staying in their place. It was hurtful. As many times as I've told him I'd been unjustly pulled over and harassed, as many times as I've told him I've been called the n-word, as many times as I told him how painful it was dealing with racial bias and prejudice, to hear him flippantly say those things fucked me up really bad. Yeah, I lost a friend over that.

So. Yeah. True colors come out in different ways. But if your experiences have been different, that's cool.

Ol Dirty Dastard 02-17-2018 03:46 PM

but yeah, someones politics can cause me to dislike them. theres a point where you agree/disgaree on something, then theres a point where it takes a sharp turn and it ventures off into a whole other thing. if someone takes an issue with me kneeling for the anthem in order to protest the unjust murder of unarmed people of color on camera while the police officer who blatantly abused his power gets paid administrative leave, thats fine. Not liking it is completely okay. Being uncomfortable with it is also completely okay. But to make an attempt to force me to stand is fundamentally unAmerican especially when afterwards you try to hijack the narrative and make it about the military, the anthem itself, etc.

I don't expect Undertaker to kneel for the anthem. I don't expect him to understand my plight or to feel what I've gone through in my life. The issue isn't real to him because he's a white man in America with white children. I don't harbor ill-will towards him. America has been great to him, why would he care about the issue? His post wasn't even "EVERYONE BETTER STAND" it was "I stand for the Anthem" but of course he does. He has no reason not to. And I don't condemn him for that. It's his right.

I'm not really gonna talk anymore on the subject, and it has nothing to do with you at all, I just dont like talking about this on TPWW because I don't know who I'm talking to, what age, what level of education, are they trolling, etc. I'm here for the rasslin.

So after making a big stink about never booking Mike Elgin, AAW booked him on a show tonight. They didn't even announce him and basically didn't give the fans a chance to decide if they would go to a show he's booked on. I really hate wrestling sometimes.

I pretty much agree with your post. I personally don't understand how anyone could have an issue with someone kneeling for the anthem... even if you disagree with their cause. That's the whole point of a free country, to be able to protest.

It's arguing over semantics, but I don't agree with your compartmentalized view of politics. That dude's racism is politics. Him being an asshole is political. You're just drawing a line and saying "politics ends here," but that's your line for whatever reason. For some, their everyday life is infested with people who hate them for being hated. It's cool you've never felt that -- good for you. But don't fucking dare tell my friends that have to put up with this shit that they are self-righteous for absolutely hating it and not tolerating people who cowardly stand up for the status quo and hide behind a smokescreen of self-assumed balance.

If you wear a logo that distances itself from the plight of black Americans making peaceful protests to draw attention to a system that routinely murders them, because you've got some odd psycho-sexual attraction to some cloth with colors on it and a song, then I'm going to think quite lowly of you as a human being. Here's some trivia.

The 3 most watched matches in WCW history:

1. Goldberg vs DDP
2. Goldberg vs Hogan
3. High Voltage vs Perry Saturn and Lodi

#1-norm-fan 02-19-2018 08:19 PM

Also, Terry Funk made his pro wresting debut the same year The Undertaker was born.

He was not warmly received by the AAW fans, who chanted "Fuck Big Mike" and turned their backs on his match. AAW apparently issued a statement saying they were "forced" to use Mike, as he was the one that facilitated Naito coming in.

The owner ended up changing the story after the event saying that was a lie and Elgin being used wasn't related to Naito's situation at all. He always wanted Elgin to be on the show and ignored him being blacklisted from the company.

I'm not Australian, but I think you're underestimating the true potential of titties.

Meanwhile, 'Taker is in the middle of a debate if he still has maybe one more WrestleMania in him, while Terry's likely going to an indy show somewhere tomorrow. Because "... aaahm an oooold maaan, and I don't think ah have it anymooore..." before doing a fucking moonsault.

Because he's Terry goddamn Funk, and I somehow don't think that even doing the eventual job to the grim reaper will stop him from wrestling. He'll find a way to dig himself out of the damn ground and "Weekend At Bernie's" himself through a match if he thinks it will get some young kid over.

Jordan 02-20-2018 03:40 PM

Yeah I dunno man, that really looks like Ric Flair with big ol fake titties and a vagina. I don't mean to be cruel but shit I just can't keep it in.

You have to explain how this happened.

Both of those are really great shirts

Jordan 02-20-2018 04:12 PM

I can't really imagine any large numbers of people buying a Goldust shirt though.

Cool King 02-20-2018 04:15 PM

Yeah, it doesn't really help that the image looks more like Rowan Atkinson than Dustin Runnels.

They really should go somewhere with the Goldust/Mandy Rose thing.

(I appreciate this will not help that shirt sell any)

Cool King 02-20-2018 04:45 PM

I dunno.

Everyone seems to love the Goldust/Mandy Rose pairing but I actually found it to be a bit on the creepy side.

Cool King 02-20-2018 04:45 PM

The 22 year age difference probably had something to do with it.

Supposedly Roman Reigns alleged roid supplier claims he's going to show proof very soon of Reigns purchasing roids from him in the past.

Rodriguez had implicated Reigns, as well as actors Mark Wahlberg and Josh Duhamel, as clients of his. In the latest video above, Rodriguez provided emails and phone records of Duhamel and said that he will present evidence on Reigns in their next video. He also explained how certain substances purchased by athletes are used in ways that could avoid failing drug tests.

How long ago was this supposed to have happened? Reigns already got busted and suspended a couple years ago. Unless he's been getting them recently, this won't be anything earth-shattering, will it?

No later than early 2017 since that is when the clinic got busted by the Feds.

Think that is what the roid dealer is implying about Reigns still buying them after he got suspended. Only way WWE is going to do anything is if it starts to become more public since it would be another big PR hit to their Wellness Policy.

What's with the Piper getup on Ronda?

#1-norm-fan 02-22-2018 04:50 PM

They were friends and Piper gave her his "blessing" to use the "Rowdy" nickname. The jacket she's wearing belonged to Piper, too. Hence the hilariously terrible fit.

That person was Vince McMahon, who we are told was the person who suggested the Gauntlet "out of nowhere", which surprised some since, we are told, he is traditionally not very high on such matches.

From there, the match was laid out and McMahon approved the length and presentation of the show.

So, if you enjoyed it, it was a Vince McMahon call.

Found this interesting not soo much because Vince had a really smart idea for once but being another instance where Creative can't do long term plans since Vince keeps changing things on the fly.

Wouldn't be surprised if the great showing by Rollins was just to keep fans happy and not them being serious about pushing him as one of the top stars for Mania.

SPOILER: show
Or his showing on RAW was only to build him up to be fed to Reigns for Reigns first big post-Mania feud that's rumored to be planned

Ol Dirty Dastard 02-22-2018 08:07 PM

I'm never surprised when Vince comes up with something good. But the problem is I'm even less surprised when he comes up with something so awful I want to quit watching wrestling.

Seth Rollins and AJ Styles kind of feel like they are "Bret Harts" in the WWE at the moment. Lean back on them when everything else isn't really working.

#BROKEN Hasney 02-23-2018 06:31 AM

Less whiny than Bret, thankfully

Mr. Nerfect 02-23-2018 07:50 AM

And somehow far more boring. (I don't really mean that about AJ Styles)

According to the Observer, Nia Jax's sudden break from the WWE a few months ago really was due to her being pissed at her booking at the time. Supposedly she was pissed at having to lose to Sasha Banks at TLC 2017 and walked out in protest.

Her contacting The Rock about this problem probably is the reason why she didn't get punished by the WWE due to his influence in the company.

Meltzer speculated Creative having her dominate Asuka on RAW was their way of appeasing her so she'd be ok with losing at the Elimination Chamber (assuming plans don't suddenly change).

Anybody Thrilla 02-23-2018 07:11 PM

I just watched the first Nitro with Vince Russo in control where everything was reset, and I gotta tell you, it fucking sucked.
