 XenoGears
But it was more like 25 hours of the boring part. |
lol, playing DKC and never really read any of Kranky Kong's scenes before. Pretty funny stuff.
|
XeroGears. There is an odd Super Mario 64 reference in Cranky's Save Cave in DKC3. But Cranky has the best music in DKC2.
|
It's Wrinkly's cave, not Cranky's. Cranky is at the minigame stand in DKC3.
|
the reason is Donkey Kong Country 3 came out after, or near the same time as the N64, so they were just advertising/referencing it in DKC 3.
I remember buying DKC 3 and the N64 almost at the same time. |
Yeah that was strange. Should have just ported the game, but I guess that infringed on the whole 3D era bullshit we rushed into.
|
Were there any original 16-bit-style games on the N64 at all?
|

Maybe Paper Mario but never played it on the N64. |
I guess Killer Instinct is close to what I'm thinking of. Definitely not Paper Mario.
|
I don't think I should suffer through 5 hours of boring shit on a game I spent money on till it gets good.
|
|
tbh, I like the 2010 version better. Far less motion sickness and getting lost and somehow getting into an area without having the right colour key yet and all that other shit.
|
I hate you funky fly.
|
You know what? If real life were more like the 1993 FPS, it would take me forever to find you and stab you with my gun. However, since real life is closer to the 2010 FPS, I'm gonna stab you with my gun right quick, asshole. :foc:
|
bring it, honkey.
|
Hate modern FPS so much. Just dullsville.
|
There are some good ones but the problem is everyone either just copies Halo, Call of Duty, or whatever shooter game ends up becoming popular. Also doesn't help that Microsoft basically created the Xbox 360 as a "shooter"-heavy console and Sony followed after initially make fun of them.

Konami announces Metal Gear Rising will miss the late 2011 release date they wanted and now is set as a TBA 2012 release date. Earliest the game could be released now is middle to late 2012 since an early 2012 date would have been announced by now.
No reason why the game is delayed but the Metal Gear series does have a history of delaying games past original release dates. http://cache.gawkerassets.com/assets.../11/rising.jpg http://kotaku.com/5684211/metal-gear...yline=true&s=i |
Take their time, I say. This is bold new ground for the series, I'd hate to see it come out as a so-so action game.

I hate Secret of Mana so much. Might be the worst game I have ever played, worse than Star Ocean: Til the End of Time. So far I have yet to find one person who loves Secret of Mana who didn't play it when they were like 8 years old. I feel like that's the only value it has to people.

Bringing back the Gunbound love, huh Assman?
(h) |
I had an Afghan flag in gunbound.

I always sported a SARS Protector :wavesad:

Rockstar to release trailer to the long delayed L.A. Noire game on November 11.
The game has been through 3-4 development studios since 2004 and been funded initially by Sony until 2007/2008 when Rockstar took over. Rumor has it one of the secret deals involving the GTA Episodes being "exclusive" to Microsoft meant this game had to be exclusive to the PS3. Once Microsoft lost the exclusive deal to the Episodes, this game became a multi-platform game to appease Microsoft. http://cache.gawkerassets.com/assets..._debut_640.jpg http://kotaku.com/5685282/finally-a-...-noire-trailer |
Games with turbulent development histories usually show it. I hope R* managed to get something out of it.
|
So is that game going to be a noir gangster free roam? I'm guessing it will be to noir movies what Red Dead was to westerns?
If so, that's incredible. Although GTA has touched on so much of noir and crime films, despite being in a modern setting. I don't think it will be as refreshing as RDR was. I'm not sure what other time-period/genre they can tap into though. |
More like your a detective investigating a major crime or series of crimes but using the GTA model for free roaming and world. They want the game to look like the old 1940s and 1950s style detective films in appearance.
I forgot how the game was shaping up when the initial team and then Sony were making the game but it was going to be a bit different in style than what Rockstar is doing. Sony kept rejecting and changing stuff during development which explained why it cost almost $60-$100 million before they sold it to Rockstar to finish. The other game Rockstar is doing called Agent is completely different since your a spy during the Cold War. |
Agent sounds better. Any more info on that?

By tapping into westerns and now noir, they've really touched on the two film genres that have the most distinct identities.
I'm curious what they will do after that. Agent sounds cool. Hopefully it's a love letter to Bond/espionage films. |
