So....the Rock's playing Black Adam?
Quote:
Well the rumor's are leading to him being Marvel himself, but we'll see what SDCC reveals on that.
Yea fingers crossed plus if hes Black Adam he'll finally be a villain(well anti villain) Ive been dying to see him play a bad guy.
Guess Doom didn't work out for you lol

Question, I watched the Green Lantern animated series on Netflix a few weeks ago and I was wondering since it featured Red, Orange, Sapphire and Blue Lanterns and took place post the GL movie and even had Sinestro in an episode why there were no Yellow Lanterns? Perhaps the Sinestro Corps was being saved for season 2, that is the only reason I can come up with.
Yeah I think it was that.
Yep. Sinestro Corp in season 2. Too bad CN decided kids didn't like it and canned it. Correction. CN decided that since girls liked the series, it was to be canned.
Yea the same logic is what canned Young Justice and I just don't see how that makes any sense. By CN logic something like MLP would have been cancelled a million times by now.
The thing is, girls don't buy action figures, so the demo that responded to GL and YJ threw them for a loop.
Of course the fuckers could simply have made merch for girls but they're not the most flexible thinking guys. |
Its a toss up between Wonder Woman and the Titans
I dunno, '66 Robin somehow taking a selfie with a land-line phone is pretty amazing.

Warner Bros. Pictures has now mapped out a massive schedule of DC Comics properties! The mystery DC Comics films are set for release on:
- August 5, 2016 - June 23, 2017 - November 17, 2017 - March 23, 2018 - July 27, 2018 - April 5, 2019 - June 14, 2019 - April 3, 2020 - June 19, 2020 They've also scheduled "event" films (i.e., not necessarily DC Comics related) for November 16, 2018 and November 20, 2020. |
A derivative way of revealing this but fine, lets do this.
THE ROCK IS BLACK ADAM
That is easily the best casting decision WB/DC has done so far. Perfect choice.
Bout the only casting decision I can agree with. Now what type of movie are they gonna make with him?
Lazy fan art
http://comicsbeat.com/wp-content/upl...41566772_n.jpg But you can see the potential. Good that the initial rumours turned out to be true, he wouldn't fit right as Shazam. |
Right so what movie is he getting?
Quote:
The villain for Shazam. I'm assuming you were making a joke or something? |
Whooo he's DOING IT! he's gonna be Black Adam!

BECAUSE NOTHING LIKE THAT HAS HAPPENED YET! |

Supergirl TV series in the works.
Neat. I wonder if that's going to tie in with the Arrow/Flash 'verse. Because if it is, then I think it's kinda weird of DC to allow major characters from Superman and Batman-- even sidekicks like Supergirl and primary villains like Ra's al Ghul-- into those shows, but not allow Superman and Batman themselves.
I will be very surprised if a Supergirl show actually gets made
I don't think it's in the CW-verse. A network wasn't announced, though.
The guy producing it is the producer of Arrow so I would think it would be on the CW.
I can see it debuting next fall especially if Flash does well. |
Imagine three CW-verse shows in one TV season...
WB developing a Teen Titans for TNT.
WB developing a Lucifer for Fox.
DC's really hammering the TV front.
Would have been "cool" if they could have all made it one universe.
play to your strengths(TV) and work on your weaknesses (MOVIES)
Would have all had to be on one network, though, which is limiting.
Quote:
Also I don't really think Lucifer would work with, say, The Flash or Arrow. There's potential for a Constantine crossover I suppose, or in an ideal world fucking SANDMAN, but I don't think it would all work under one 'universe'.
Sandman was in the DC Universe, and it "worked". They don't have to be constantly referring to the other shows/characters. Just maybe the occasional wink and nod... or maybe someone like Deadshot shows up at Lucifer's club. Would still be en entirely different show with an entirely different mood and feel, but would feel like it is in a coherent universe.
But anyways, I don't really care too much either way. Just thought it would be "cool" if they did, but have no problem at all that it isn't. |
Consider this one of those "I'll believe it when I see it" things but the president of CW rather specially said that their CW-verse heroes could certainly cross over with the planned Titans series on another channel. Now something like that can't completely be up to him, until you consider the Arrow/Flash creators also have a hand in Titans and also Supergirl being planned now. I suppose this would highlight whether or not different networks are a stronger separating force than the fact that they're all DC TV.
This would also raise the question on just how difficult it actually is for the big movie companies to FUCKING GIVE US WHAT WE WANT AND PLAY TOGETHER. |

Sequel to JL War, which follows Flashpoint. Note; Son of Batman was also in this New 52 Animated Universe (sigh), but Assault on Arkham was not (that's based on the games). And so it goes: New 52 Animated Universe Flashpoint Justice League War Son of Batman Thrown of Atlantis And while we're on a nerdy roll: CW-Verse Arrow Flash Suicide Squad (Rumored) Supergirl (In Talks/Rumored) Titans (In Talks/Going Forward) Gotham and Constantine are, far as we can tell, stand-alone. Gotham enough for good reasons, and Constantine only recently played with the big boys in the comics anyway. A new movie version of Johnny boy will appear in Tel Toro's Justice League Dark movie, which will feature Zatanna, Swamp Thing, and The Demon. Not sure if they will be set in the new DC Cinematic Universe; which so far is Man of Steel, Batman v Superman (ugh), and eventually Justice League and "The Batman" (rumored but likely). DC has made it very clear that TV shows will not cross over with the movies. With all this world building, I'm kinda sad the Angela Basset's Amanda Waller was wasted on Green Lantern. |
I think Supergirl was picked up by a non-CW channel.
It is CBS.
Now it has been mentioned that Titans could somehow cross over with Arrow... Don't know how that would work. |
So, I just finished reading "Doomed," the big Superman event for this year. This was a pretty fun one, not perfect by any stretch, but it's the first time in a long while that a Superman story has felt appropriately big and crazy and ridiculous.
The ending, though, might end up being a big fucking deal. Spoilers ahead, obviously. SPOILER: show |
I love that man.
Well, it's......not as hideous as the Batman one-- I can actually see that thing managing to walk through a door or sit down in a chair without falling over.
Imagine that kitty purring in your lap.

Weird they'd make movies about Suicide Squad and Cyborg.
I'll watch the Wonder Woman movie...
Suicide Squad got a mainstream boost from Arrow and the animated movie. They're return in Arrow S3 (and possibly spin-off from there).
No standalone batman flick, interesting
Thank the gods for that. But seriously, WB's making some interesting choices here for their film universe. Wonder how many movies in we'll get before it crashes and burns.
There is supposed to be a standalone Batman movie as well as an actual Man of Steel sequel as well, they just don't have dates for them yet.
Quote:
Also, words cannot express how little I care about seeing a Cyborg movie. Generally can't stand Cyborg anymore since the new 52 and his bump up in "importance". He was alright as a Titan. |
Yeah why are you just learning this now? It's set in the Arkham games' universe and it's totally fun. Jennifer Hale returns to voice Killer Frost from the DCAU days and Kevin Conroy of course does his thing. Pounder also lends her voice again to Amanda Waller and Troy Baker completely nails Mark Hammil's Joker. It's pretty cool. And Deadshot's really coming up in the game.
I also found it strange that Cyborg's been getting more exposure. He never stood out to me. Seems like Tokenism really but he was pretty cool in Justice League War. |
Oh. Ok. Haven't played any of the Arkham games, so I kind of didn't pay attention to anything to do with it. Might have to check it out when I have the time.
Quote:
I feel like Cyborg is only supposed to be important now because Geoff Johns didn't want Hal Jordan to miss out being in the Justice League, since the role of "A-list superhero who happens to be black" could have been pretty easily filled by John Stewart. Green Lantern's always been a big name in the DCU, and thanks to the animated universe, we already know one of the main GLs is black, so there wouldn't have been any need to shoe-horn in Cyborg and kick out Martian Manhunter. But Johns is one of the big-wigs in DC now, and he can't get enough of some Hal Jordan, so now we all have to pretend that the least interesting Teen Titan totally belongs as a founding member of the Justice League. |
Rumour has it Tom Hardy and Will Smith are "in close to signing on" for roles as members of the Suicide Squad.
I think having big names is the only way to draw people to see SS, but I don't see them doing this. Just no way. http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansit...news/?a=109431 |
Very unlikely Tom Hardy will return to DC in this way. That's weird. Will Smith is also unbelievable. That must be some script.
Jena Malone joins cast of Batman vs Superman as Carrie Kelley:

There's a rumor that Joel Shoemaker will write his third Batman film in comic book form ("Batman Triumphant"), finally showing what he had in mind. I'm unusually interested in this.
Another rumor is Gotham's rising popularity may yet spawn a TV project called "Krypton", where you already know what the point is. Also everybody dies in the end (except some kid, whatshisname). Just a rumor.
Some details from the upcoming Supergirl TV series:
Quote:
Just need confirmation if it's in the CWverse or just stand alone.
I'm worried the Superhero bubble will burst before a lot of things get made.
The Supergirl TV show has a casting call for Hank Henshaw, who we all know as the other less nice Cyborg. He'll be the requisite 'I don't trust this mutant/meta-human/vigilante' authority figure. Jimmy Olsen and Cat Grant will also appear.
Don't really have high hopes for that series.
I know it isn't the popular version, but they should have just based it on the Peter David series/Linda Danvers Suoergirl. |
In an age where Iron Man is an A-list movie franchise and Green Arrow is one of the best superhero TV shows in years I'm gonna have to hang back and see how this is gonna turn out.

Woooooooooooooow really? That's wow.

that's so fucking pretentious. Get off your high horse Nolan.
Big rumor is that Jared Leto is the lead candidate to play the Joker in the upcoming Suicide Squad movie.
Got the link below off of imdb www.thewrap.com/jared-leto-eyed-to-play-the-joker-in-wbs-suicide-squad-exclusive/ |
Seems.... odd to have Joker in a Suicide Squad movie.
I'm hoping that Joker ends up being the Suicide Squad's target, rather than a member of the Squad himself. I'm really not a fan of Harley being on the Squad, but if she's going to be there, then having her on the opposing side of Joker makes for a way more interesting story than if she's relegated to being his sidekick.
Hey look it's Margot Robbie
http://cdn2.denofgeek.us/sites/denof...?itok=Ske071vy There's a good chance she's Harley Quinn in the Suicide Squad movie. |
If so I'm happy. She's a great choice.
Is that the girl from Wolf of Wall Street? If so, great casting.
Well...let's see if she can pull of crazy.
Hey look that chick from the Vampire Diaries...
http://www.mdcu-comics.fr/upload/new...524011_999.jpg She could be Supergirl in the CBS show which may or may not take place in the CW-verse. |
Broken image.

Nope. Not working.

Dammit.
Google the chick, sorry. |
Suicide Squad cast announced:
