Did he? Seems to have been a few agents having something wrong lately.

He did :

On November 22, 2010, it was reported that Simon had recently suffered a heart attack, but within days was already back working with WWE.[71]

Diamond Dallas Page.

In speaking to several sources, Wrestling-News.Net can confirm that the former 3-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion will be facing off against Heath Slater on WWE RAW tomorrow night from the State Farm Arena in Hidalgo, Texas.

We noted exclusively on the website on June 12th that Diamond Dallas Page along with Sid Vicious and Charles Wright (Kama Mustafa, Papa Shango and The Godfather) had been contacted about making an appearance on the 1,000th edition of WWE RAW. Sid Vicious (Sycho Sid) was used on last week’s edition of the show as a legend from the past, defeating Slater and is expected to appear at the big 3-hour show on July 23rd also.

Interesting...so you're telling me this match will happen LIVE on Sunday Monday Night RAW HEAT?! :shifty::shifty::shifty:

Anybody Thrilla 06-30-2012 04:07 PM

Vader and Sid both looked abysmal in the ring. Not really sure what you guys are getting at with all this "do this every week" talk.

Jordan 06-30-2012 04:22 PM

Malenko, DDP, and Shamrock or Blackman would be awesome.

Vader's appearance was better than most big men in their prime. That's not hyperbole. Hell, most of the big men in WWE NOW can't move around the ring as well as he did. Was he as good as he used to be? No. What was great about it was that he moved better than any 400+ lb. 57 year old with two artificial knees has any right to. And he was willing to leave his feet.

As for Sid, yeah. I was hoping for at least a chokeslam.

Skippord 06-30-2012 07:15 PM

I thought Vader was fine, Sid was depressing and awful though.

Jordan 06-30-2012 09:24 PM

Depressing? Really? Grow some balls, he had fun, so did as (being a Sid fan). Sure he's old but its quite marvelous coming from the injury he sustained that he can move as well as he did. It's not sad at all, quite the opposite. Now he gets to move on with his life in a positive way.

Mr. Nerfect 06-30-2012 09:42 PM

I would absolutely mark out for DDP, not going to lie. I have a feeling that Bret Hart is going to be one of them, though.

Mr. Nerfect 06-30-2012 09:46 PM

The only thing that would make these appearances by the legends more fun is if Matt Striker was on commentary. Seriously, just bring him out for that segment and let him mark out at the destruction of Heath Slater. And hell, when this stuff is finished, Slater can take issue with Striker enjoying him getting beaten up each week, so he beats Striker to get back some heel heat.

Gonzo 06-30-2012 09:56 PM

DDP on RAW would be the shit.

Striker on commentary would improve both Raw and Smackdown.
Don't get why they chose Josh Matthews over him, Striker is much better...

Mr. Nerfect 06-30-2012 10:38 PM

Josh Mathews is a really good commentator, as well. I still think that Michael Cole should just do RAW, and that a commentary team of Mathews, Booker T & Matt Striker on SmackDown would be fantastic, though.

Road Warrior 07-01-2012 02:02 AM

I would mark for Goldust or DDP, but only if they used his wcw music. Wouldn't be surprised if they brought in Shamrock either.

I was really into the idea of having completely separate guys on commentary on the two shows until the roster split reached the level of ridiculousness it's at now and having distinct feels for both shows became less important.

I do still like the idea of Matt Striker getting a shot on one of the big shows. He's incredible.

Mr. C 07-01-2012 04:31 PM

I'm going to say this won't happen as DDP was never a main eventer in the WWE.

Sid
Vader
both were. All DDP did was be Christian's coach.

XL 07-01-2012 05:07 PM

Did Roddy Piper (or Cindi Lauper) ever main event Raw?

CSL 07-01-2012 05:09 PM

ssshhhh, logic is frowned upon. you must stick to taking everything literally and then complaining when your self-imposed standards aren't met

CSL 07-01-2012 05:19 PM

reading that post back it feels quite Kane Knight-ish. Not sure how I feel about this

Mr. C 07-01-2012 05:25 PM

Lauper and Roddy Piper lost 12,000 viewers.

CSL 07-01-2012 05:27 PM

are you attempting to make some variety of point there? because that has nothing to do with your last post or anybody else's since

XL 07-01-2012 05:34 PM

Totally lost here.

CSL 07-01-2012 05:35 PM

I suggest you google up the ratings.

whiteyford 07-02-2012 12:30 AM

I thought it was just talent from Raws past not strictly Raw main eventers....oh right marzipan, gotcha.

Droford 07-02-2012 12:31 AM

Slater: what about me?

cue Raven..

whiteyford 07-02-2012 12:34 AM

Sadly i think Ravens on their shit list after the lawsuit :-\

What big men on the current WWE roster can't move as well as current Vader? Did you not notice him waddling around the ring at what can only really be described as a glacial pace?

Don't get me wrong. I was a huge fan of the prolific Vader, but I have absolutely no desire to see him in his current state, and there was nothing impressive about his latest Monday night performance. Nothing. He was OK at VERY best, but that shouldn't net him a pass for television time in which he was shitting on a current talent.

I feel like some of you are letting nostalgia get to you a bit too much. This sort of thing is in direct disagreement with the long-standing sentiment that the new generation will never get as over as the older generations. Herald them. Honor them. Mention them in conversations...but get them the fuck out of the ring unless they are still bringing it for real.

Vastardikai 07-02-2012 03:39 AM

Glacial Pace is much faster than Khali, who moves with the speed of a tectonic plate. That was the main person I had in mind.

The only time I actually noticed Vader having problems was when he was getting up, but beyond that, he lost a step, but was mostly the same guy. How much of that was his health and how much of that was Heath Slater bumping like a madman for him is up for debate.

ABT, I get your sentiment. I honestly do. I thought watching Tommy Rich wrestle 5 years ago was the saddest thing I had ever seen. A few months later, Jake "The Snake" Roberts went out there and 'topped' him. If Vader went out there and embarrassed himself, I'd be bitching right next to you. As I would be if he were making a WWE Title run. But he showed up once, had a fair offering, and if that's the extent of him wrestling, I'm perfectly alright with that. Big thing with me is, let's keep it at a rare appearance while he can still go.

SPOILER: show

I guess this confirms it!

the Facebook page of DDP had the following status, “I just talked to DDP and he said that he was on his way to Texas but wouldn’t say why..”

Big Vic 07-02-2012 12:23 PM

I would love it, he was one of my fave WCW guys

Awesome, sounds like a reality. :)

Fox 07-02-2012 08:53 PM

Does anyone know a good doctor who can remove my left testicle?

I can't believe that I'm going to miss the return to TV of the master of the Diamond Cutter! I really hope that this sparks some kind of fire in him to make a return to TV in some kind of capacity. Page is one of my all-time favorite wrestlers.

Emperor Smeat 07-02-2012 09:14 PM

Would laugh if the Brooklyn Brawler was used for a week.

DLVH84 07-02-2012 09:49 PM

Seems like it's a lot of WCW guys that Heath Slater's jobbing to.

Think about it...first Vader, then Sid, and now DDP. I wonder who's next?

Jura 07-02-2012 10:19 PM

Vader and Sid were also in WWE though and later DDP.

FourFifty 07-02-2012 10:27 PM
