Jags vs Colts will be huge next week. Everytime we play the Jags for the first time in the season, it's always a division deciding game. We've won almost everytime, but the reason why this will be an EPIC game, is because the Jags know that they have to win this game to have any shot at the division. If they lose this one, they wont win the division. Its been like that for the past 4 years. I have a bad feeling about this one. We have a few injuries. Mostly players that will probably play. I've never seen the Jaguars this good on defense and thats really saying something, they've always been above average on defense. This year they look sick. I dont think the Colts will score more then 20 points in this one. But i do think the Colts can make this a defensive struggle. Our defense isnt as good as theres, but there offense isnt has good as our defense.

I cant believe i'm saying this, but here it is. Jaguars 24, Colts 17. God dammit.

But yeah, what exactly was your point? I simply stated that he shred their D, which he did. They had no defense. That's why they lost. Pretty simple point to follow without throwing out a pretty obvious statement that he played the Saints, who had like the mid 20 rated passing defense last year (jets were around the same, fwiw).

My point is Tom Brady isn't coming off a year where threw 30 plus INTs -I'm still not sold on Farve's bad season last year just being a fluke because of who he was playing with, dropping 3 TDs on the Saints secondary doesn't really do it for me.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 09-19-2006 03:40 PM

Don't get me wrong, Farve is a hall of famer, but that does not mean he should still be playing.

And I don't know what any of this has to do with Tom Brady, where did I say Brady has been playing good? He hasn't been good at all. I am confident that'll come around tho, and the Patriots will be winning the AFC East. Pretty funny to see everyone jumping off the Dolphins nutsack after only 2 weeks tho

The Pats winning a few super bowls years ago, doesn't sell me that they are still a dominant team..

Mr. Monday Morning 09-19-2006 04:22 PM

I dunno where you get "dominant" from "winning the AFC east".

Just sayin.

If it was say, the NFC East, then Pats might struggle. But come on, at this point they have to be pretty odds on to win their division.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 09-19-2006 04:56 PM

lol where am I saying that the Patriots are a dominant team? Lemme know.

They are still winning the AFC East though, which is all I said.

I can't see the Patriots winning the Superbowl this year unless they get some really good play out of their wide recievers, which sucks since they have a sick group of Tight Ends and the running game should be on point with Maroney and Dillon.

I still dunno what the Patriots have to do with my opinion of Brett Farve being washed up but alright.

Dude, he didnt have his starting reciever, the 1st and 2nd string RB. His 1st string TE. His offensive line was crap. His defense lacked a couple of playmakers, wtf do you want from the guy? My god. Not sold? What the fuck would possibly convice you?

Look i'm not saying his skills are not declining, they are, but it surely dont help when your team implodes.

Dont knock Farve for what he did last year. Last year was last year. The Saints arent the greatest team, but they are an NFL team.

Gonzo 09-19-2006 10:29 PM

I still think Favre can ball, he just had nobody last year.

He is definitely on the decline, because he tries to do so much by himself. If he would just manage the game rather than try to be a gunslinger they might string together a few wins. Thats Favre's style though, gunslinger mentality and a gunslinger type player.

BCWWF 09-20-2006 12:46 AM

It's funny because Favre has the whole "Iron Man" thing surrounding him because of his durability, but if you really watch him play, he is afraid of getting hit. I heard them talking about it on the radio, and they were saying how they didn't believe it when they first heard it, but once you watch its true. Of course everybody calls in "YOU CANT SAY THAT HE IS THE IRON MAN!" Of course that is what everybody is going to do here now too, but watch him next time, he really does work hard to not get hit, and it affects his game.

road doggy dogg 09-20-2006 12:50 AM

I agree with BCWWF, Michael Vick is going to break Favre's record

BCWWF 09-20-2006 01:04 AM

Get over Favre. He's started a lot of games and been a very average quarterback for a while now.

RP 09-20-2006 03:44 AM

How do you pass for 54,000 yards, 399 td's, a couple of MVP's and a Superbowl ring and be a average QB? Explain that one to me pal.

DrA 09-20-2006 03:46 AM

I think he's saying that Favre is past his prime now.

RP 09-20-2006 03:48 AM

Well no shit. Surround him with a decent team and he's still better then 75% of the QB's in the league.

DrA 09-20-2006 03:51 AM

True, and I do respect him for not playing "musical quarterbacks" and switching from team to team every year to fill in holes on paper.

But the fact of the matter is that Favre is not on a better team, and that organization needs to find a way to make with what they have and not just on one player.

Crippla 09-20-2006 04:25 PM

LOL. Krispy is so delusional about the Saints if he thinks they'll make the playoffs.

Mr. Monday Morning 09-20-2006 05:10 PM

Wellllllll...let's hypothesise.

Bucs are horrible. Really, really horrible right now. At the rate they're going, they'll be lucky to make .500

Carolina is 0-2, have lost a key member of their offensive line, and it's not clear when their best player will be back, nor even if/when he'll be 100% due to the nature of his injury.

Atlanta are off to a good start but they have a tendancy to fall off as the season wears on, Dunn especially. If they can't run, Vick has to throw. If Vick has to throw, they're in trouble. Their D might be enough to cover for it, but I'd be cautious right now.

Saints remaining schedule is like this:

Atlanta
@ Carolina
Tampa Bay
Philadelphia
Baltimore
@ Tampa Bay
@ Pittsburgh
Cincinnati
@ Atlanta
San Francisco
@ Dallas
Washington
@ NY Giants
Carolina

I've bolded the games I think they can potentially win. Obviously a lot will change between now and then. But at this point, even though their D is not especially good, they seem to be gelling as a shootout team, which suits most of their players on offence really.

If they win those games they're 9-7. Normally I'd say 9-7 won't get it done, but nobody in the West aside from Seattle will win 9, the teams in the East will beat each other so much 9-7 will probably win that division, and it remains to be seen how good Minnesota will be.

So they could sneak it.

Maybe.

But probably not :$

Crippla 09-20-2006 05:25 PM

They've already got some injury problems. Don't get me wrong, if they play as well as they can they will shred the Saints defence to ribbons. But they can have points hung on them too. Plus the Superdome is gonna be sold out, unless I'm mistaken - shouldn't make a difference, but you never know.

BCWWF 09-21-2006 12:53 AM

I don't get why people think Brett Favre would still be good with a better team. Of course he would be a little better, but the mistakes he is making now aren't because he has bad recievers. Green Bay could have gone out and made a run for some decent players to give the Packers a push for the playoffs, but Favre's "intangibles" no longer exist. He is an average quarterback on an average team.

Not counting youth, if I had to pick one quarterback to play just this season, I would pick the following before him.

-Tom Brady
-Peyton Manning
-Ben Roethlisburger
-Carson Palmer
-Eli Manning
-Michael Vick
-Donovan McNabb
-Jake Plummer
-Trent Green
-Matt Hasselbeck
-Daunte Culpepper
-Steve McNair
-Drew Brees

I would consider taking these guys before Favre

-Byron Leftwich
-Marc Bulger
-Chad Pennington
-Jake Delhomme
-David Carr
-Drew Bledsoe
-Brad Johnson
-Rex Grossman

It is rediculous to say that Favre could still be among the best quarterbacks in the league.

BCWWF 09-21-2006 12:54 AM

What I mean by youth, I wouldn't take Ben Roethlisburger over Brett Favre because he is 23 and Brett is 36 or whatever, I would take Ben because he is a much better quarterback right now.

Crippla 09-21-2006 06:04 PM

PATRIOTS WIN AFC EAST WITH NO PROBLEMS!! It's as simple as that and Miami right now is probably the worst team in our division.

BCWWF 09-21-2006 06:14 PM

That list has only to do with this season. Jake Plummer was one of the top QB's in the NFL last season, McNair has looked good this year on Baltimore, Culpepper was almost the MVP two years ago, I forget who else you disagree with, but Favre is not in the top half of quarterbacks anymore.

BCWWF 09-21-2006 06:21 PM

Also, if Road Doggy Dogg can muster it, how about an explanation of why Favre is still among the top quarterbacks in the game. The only argument that he almost made was that he is durable and that I am stupid.

You don't want Favre because of last season even though he looked good last week but you'll take McNair who has been mediocre for the last two years but has looked good this year (which I guess your definition of good is posting a QB rating of 58.0 against the RAIDERS). Guess who rank 21 and 22 in QB ratings this year. McNair and Favre. HUGE upgrade.

You also would rather have Culpepper because he was almost MVP two years ago but looked awful last year. Favre had 30 TD passes two years ago. Also guess who is just behind McNair and Favre at #23. That's right, our friend Daunte Culpepper.

BCWWF 09-21-2006 09:52 PM

So you are going to completly count Daunte out because he had a season ending knee injury five games into last year? Favre has proven he is an elite quarterback...ten years ago. Daunte came back early from a very serious knee injury and has started slow, I'd still take him.

Instead of attacking me, why don't you make your own list and show where you would put Favre in terms of starting quarterbacks based on nothing but ability this season.

Did you manage to forget the first 8 games Culpepper played last season. He was worse the Bret Farve. In fact he wasnt even on Ty Detmers level. His first two games this year, the same.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 09-21-2006 11:08 PM

Brady
P. Manning
E. Manning
Vick
McNabb
Brees
Hasselbeck
Roethlisburger
Grossman
Carr

Last 3 could be maybes, but that's who I am taking over Farve this season, then there's a lump of guys I'd put on some level right now (Leftwich, Bulger, Culpepper, Rivers, B. Johnson)

So while Farve maybe is of the greats, so are Steve Young and Joe Montana. Doesn't do much for me personally this season.

BCWWF 09-21-2006 11:30 PM
