Entertaining event overall even if some of the matches had flat or meh endings ... just like regular WWE PPVs so I guess that counts as equality.

Guess on the bright side, at least WWE didn't throw away a historic main event just to put the spotlight on something else instead.

Like with the Women's Rumble match having Asuka's spotlight taken away for someone not involved in the match, rumor was the MMA 4 Horsewomen were going to interfere in this match and likely turn Ronda heel in the process. So basically Evolution's main event would just have been a toss-away moment for Survivor Series and Ronda's Pals.

Sorry I was not here with y'all, but I started watching the show late.

Anyways, I loved the show. Probably one of my favourite shows of the year. I hope they do more all-women events. Maybe a "Big Four" per year. (Not timed around the other Big 4 which already have NXT Takeovers)

Even the matches I thought that I wouldn't care about like the Battle Royale and the 6 women tag ended up being highly enjoyable.

Also confused at putting over Ember Moon throughout the match just to not put her over and give her the win.

What a poor PPV. Crown Jewel sold all seats within few hours whereas it took months to fill seats for this one. I see many people praising Becky vs Charlotte match. Like just because they did some monkey stuff doesn't its good. Men wrestlers hardly get any stipulation like that in WWE otherwise I am pretty sure they would have 1000 times better match than that.

What was the attendance for this meant to be? The setup looked more like a house show with the regular railings with banners on them instead of the padded ones we see on most other shows?

It was meant to be slightly bigger than a backyard wrestling match.

Not sold out. They were selling tickets for $7 right up to the event and there were pockets of empty seats and they had plenty of room to put people into the crowd for spots.

Based on those at the event, WWE pretty much shut off the feed on the tron whenever they showed ads for Crown Jewel. Got that upset over the crowd who kept booing it rightfully so.


The usual 10k-15k range for smaller PPV events.

Considering WWE supposedly barely cared about the event itself to begin with, made sense they'd use a house show or NXT format for the setup and lighting.

The question on everyone's mind:

Thinking about checking out the Becky/Charlotte match. Was it as good as I hear?

Meltzer suggested it was one of the best main roster matches of the year.

Could make a strong argument on it being the best ever women's match on the main roster and MotY candidate in the WWE. I'd be shocked if WWE didn't put it in the Top 5/10 for their own list at the end of the year.

Only real complaint was the ref being comical at how inconsistent he was with the counting. Like the final 10 count shouldn't have happened since he called off similar downs earlier in the match.

I watched a condensed version of the show on YouTube. The Becky Charlotte match looked fun, although there were some clips of Becky being sorta cowardly in demeanor. I'm stunned she won honestly.

That's a very frustrating thing though, haha. It kind of defeats the hard work the women did. If I can't make sense of it, maybe I should give it a skip.

I think it's been overhyped a bit, but the PPV is worth a watch. Becky vs Charlotte, Storm vs Shirai, and Sane vs Bayzler were all good. Everything else was at least a solid fun match.

Becky versus Charlotte was a touch sloppy at times but where they succeeded was with intensity and creating a big fight feel. Maybe not an all time classic, but they definitely delivered something worth talking about when the division needed it.

I preferred it over that clusterfuck NXT ladder match from earlier in the year that everyone acted like was the greatest thing ever.

I don't even watch the men, let alone the women. (I'm just being annoying, I like women's wrestling but I don't watch current wrestling at all. Judy Martin > Anyone on the show .)

The show would been actually entertaining. Pudding matches > Becky vs Charlotte.

It's this kind of toxicity that inspires people like Bad News Gertner to not want to post anymore.

The condensed version I saw the night of the ppv showed her in peril and Brie giving her trouble. So I'm not sure how you'd take that.

How Ronda isn't a Brock Lesnar esque wrecking ball is odd tho. She doesn't need 20 minute matches. She might get more over just bulldozing people.

The same reason Lesnar doesn’t have 20 minute matches. If you’re booking someone as a killer, having them do the same long, competitive matches as everyone else is fucking stupid.

But again, if there’s some creative shenanigans that extend the length of the match, I’m all for it.

I hate Ronda selling for dainty divas, but the psychology was tight. Nikki only gained her advantage when her and Bri double-teamed/distraction tacticked her. She got posted a few times and it looked "brutal".

Her comeback was strong and she pretty much murdered Nikki. Nikki on offence was a bit blah, but Ronda needs a bit more time to work on those middle portions of the match which can come with seasoning

It was by no means a classic, or even a great match. But it was solid work from the two ladies.

Ronda's ring post spots have been great from what I can tell. Near Lesnar level.
