Poor Dexter Lumis, got dumped by Indi while she was getting a face massage thingy with Candice.
|
This Balor vs. Kross Prime Target hype video is great.
|
That was a really weird fake "DiBiaise" chant.
Some of these fake audio chants and crowd sound clips WWE plays for these ThunderDome-based shows have been awful because it either just sounds bad or is like a 1-2 second clip repeated non-stop for too long. |
Ted DiBiase's antics was the best part of a pretty dull match between Cameron Grimes and Jake Atlas.
Not sure what the end goal is for this Grimes & DiBiase rich man feud since its just been DiBiase making fun of Grimes each week. They already established that Grimes is a moron and has way less money than DiBiase so he can't really outsmart DiBiase nor out spend him to get the upper hand. |
Killian Dane completely squashing Alexnader Wolfe is something I didn't expect to happen with their match tonight.
Guess Wolfe is out of Imperium now based on that post-match beating by his pals. |
Legado Del Fantasma vs. Ciampa & Thatcher was a very good hard hitting match despite the shenanigans at the end by the Grizzled Young Vets.
Don't understand why WWE has such a huge phobia when it comes to booking tv matches to not end via shenanigans or in a satisfying manner. AEW and other promotions have this type of problem as well but WWE goes way overboard with the frequency of it for their weekly shows. |
Nice of Indi Hartwell to undump Dexter Lumis.
The Way are still the lamest thing about NXT in recent times though. |
This Hit Row stable really needs someone similar to Max Caster to make it work.
Like they feel like what WWE thinks a hip hop group is and not what they actually are since the promo work is the weakest part about them so far. No rhythm or freestyle feel to whenever they sprout out stuff. Like with Max Caster, he makes his rap and lyrical stuff feel natural while Hit Row doesn't capture that same feeling yet whenever they talk or try to "throw down." |
Gargano is either repping the X-Men or the Fantastic Four for his comics inspired gear tonight.
NXT is very lucky USA Network gives them an overrun since 9 minutes left in the show and the main event cage match only just started. |
Gargano might have busted out the slowest ever Poison Rana to Reed.
|
:y: Bronson Reed won.
North American title cage match was very good despite it going overboard with the cage shenanigans by Austin Theory. This week's show was very enjoyable overall. Did have a couple of dull stretches here and there but was still a fun show in general. Probably going to get wrecked in the ratings tomorrow though since it went up against 2 NBA playoff games. |
killian dain's music is really awful
|
Whoever decided that Toni Storm should wear pants needs to be fired.
|
Is this hinting at Taya vs. Toni in the future? That would be pretty cool.
|
EL GATO NO TIENE ZAPATOS
|
This Grimes / DiBiase feud needs Tatanka, X-Pac and Nikolai Volkoff as the Corporation.
|
Have really come to appreciate Bronson Reed. Thought Takeover was his time. Probably means he wins tonight.
|
I don't know if this Hit Row thing will be any good, but I know that Swerve can have a good match with anyone, so anything that gets him a push with direction is fine with me.
|
According to a recent episode of the Mat Men podcast show, the current Cameron Grimes vs. Ted DiBiase feud is meant to result in the revival of the Million Dollar Championship for NXT. Its not currently known if the belt will be a long term thing for NXT or just for the current Grimes rich guy storyline and feud with DiBiase.
That would give NXT 7 belts for their brand with 6 being exclusive. For some reference, that would be more than what RAW and SD currently have for belts. RAW has 6 belts with 5 being exclusive and SD has 5 with 4 being exclusive. The 24/7 title is mainly a RAW brand belt while both brands only really share the Women's Tag title belts. |

Preview for tonight's show:
Quote:
|
The start of this women's tag match might be the sloppiest start to an opening match in NXT in recent years.
Not sure if its just a bad case of the nerves or Ember & Shotzi don't mesh well with Raquel to start off a match. |
Women's tag match was mostly decent despite it being sloppy at times. One of the weaker openers in terms of quality since NXT moved to USA Network.
|
Yikes at Pete Dunne's neck.
Fish T-Bone suplexed him right onto the ropes and Dunne bounced right off of it and landed rough on his head and neck. |
Bobby Fish vs. Pete Dunne was pretty good and would have been a way better opening for tonight's show instead of the Women's tag match.
|
2 beatdowns after matches
|
Going to laugh if they actually write out Fish despite him only recently returning from his injury.
|
Maybe I'm just not getting hooked into the group soo far or something about Hit Row has been really off.
Right now they come off as a watered down version of The Acclaimed, mainly Max Caster, as a rap/hip hop based group. They have all the pieces to be a really cool group but are missing that one key piece or person to actually be great. |
is there another ripoff rosemary

Whatever happened to Xia Li? She was great. Jacked, and had great looking offense. |
 at Grimes
Poor Grimes, wanted to be just like his idol The Million Dollar Man and instead just keeps getting mocked by him. |
:| at LA Knight calling the crowd incels.
Quote:
Supposedly Triple H, HBK, and other NXT officials have been very high on her new gimmick but have a really odd way of showing it in recent times. |
That Million Dollar Faceoff segment was way less comedic than I had expected.
LA Knight vs. Cameron Grimes feud might be good but not really that interested for it. |
Never realized until just now that Indi Hartwell's voice sounds very similar to Peyton Royce.
|
:n: at Franky not bringing along her cute adorable dog for her debut match.
Guess her dog was among those who got their pink slips recently from WWE. |
Is WWE the only company that regularly has the habit of champ loses belt and then immediately jumps into a title feud for a belt that is one step higher or lower than what they had just held?
NXT just did that with Santos Escobar where he recently lost his Cruiser title and now is starting a feud with Bronson Reed for the NA belt. No climbing the ladder or anything to get that feud. Edit: Holy shit, they sort of just did it again with Johnny Gargano getting put into a #1 contender's match for the NXT title just a week after he lost the NA title. |
I'll take that over endless rematches for the title, thank you very much.
|
NXT title match was pretty good overall but could have been several minutes shorter. Took way too long for it to hit that next gear and felt like almost every Kross match in NXT so far in terms of pacing and flow.
This week's show was all right overall although last week's show was a lot more entertaining for comparisons. |
I find Karrion Kross to be very underwhelming outside of his entrance. Like, when he fought Balor and just started forearming him for the end of the match?
Anti-climactic as fuck. |
Watching NXT now. Gargano / KOR / Doon match v good, terrible ending. Why even have this match if you can't have a decisive ending?
Don't really care about LA Knight or Jake Atlas, but what's the point of all these interference/dq/clusterfuck match endings? |
Scarlett is literally the only good thing about Kross, and she just stands there while he cuts a generic angry promo.
|
This NXT is probably gonna outdraw Dynamite by 250,000 viewers
|
I haven’t really been following NXT much at all. I think Kross is going to lose the NXT Title so he can go up to Raw though. He and Scarlett seem like an act Vince would love. Unless he decides Kross has no charisma and he can’t understand why Scarlett would fuck him. Honestly, I do get Sable/Mero vibes from them.
If I HAD to subtly suggest to the WWE ways to improve NXT and the main roster within their own universe, I would float the idea of having Bray Wyatt return to NXT. He’s a “name,” which helps NXT. He’d also get more autonomy over the direction of his gimmick and make it more “earthy.” Plus he’s no longer clogging up the WWE main roster. He could have a fine feud with Finn Balor or something. You could even build to The Fiend vs. The Demon, without supernatural stuff, and have something give there. And I don’t have to watch it. |
And yes, it probably will do better than AEW.
|
anyone going to watch this tonight to see if joe shows up.
|
Hell Yes!
|
joes going to kill you
|
DAMNIT Joe is awesome already killing people lol
|
Joe fucking rules.
|
Great show. I loved everything. I just hate the name LA Knight. Lose the LA and just call him Knight.
Is it possible they're setting up a Dibiase JR return? Or is he high on coke somewhere? |
Pretty sure he's got a successful career outside of wrestling.

la knight has the best promos
|
I’m hoping with the teasing of a Dunne and Joe feud that they don’t go that road. Would rather see Dunne become Joe’s boy to wrestle in matches for him and do his dirty work as he hasn’t been cleared to wrestle.
Just keep teasing it for a while and have Regal and Joe in the ring. Regal could be thanking Joe for helping to sort out NXT and then Dunne runs down , talks some shit to Regal in his brummie accent and then starts attacking Regal. Then Joe plays like he is about to take out Dunne and instead just smiles and shakes his hand. |
Toni Storm has come out as bisexual
Another win for Juice Robinson |
Watching Great American Bash.
Really would like to see Ciampa / Thatcher vs. Riddle / Orton. |
Seems weird to have Bud Light Seltzer as a sponsor.
Cameron Grimes face turn has probably been my favorite thing on the show recently. |
I'm glad this rapper gimmick is getting Swerve his well deserved push, but the rap promos aren't my thing I guess.
|
Surprised they haven’t just thrown caution to the wind and done Raw vs. NXT in a battle between the USA properties yet. Ricochet vs. Kushida for the CW Title, Orton/Riddle vs. Ciampa/Thatcher, Kross vs. McIntyre. There’s plenty of stuff you can do to make both shows slightly more interesting.

Gotta applaud the audacity of NXT trying to pass Kona Reeves off as a new Japanese signing.
|
What?
|
He lost to <s>Brendan Vink</s> Duke Hudson.
|
That's not Kona Reeves.
|
Are you sure??
|
Yes. Ikeman Jiro has been around the Japanese independents for years.
|
I see. So they repackage him as Kona Reeves for a few years like an opposite Yokozuna!?
|
Shut up, XL.
|
just put NXT on now and Vic Joseph has said "OOH!!!" 10 times in the past like 45 seconds... the absolute worst wrestling commentator of all time,,,

|
I do not understand any of this Xia Li stuff, I think they'll call her up before I do.
|
Hell yeah, Taya match.
|
Inject Swerve vs. Santos into my veins. So fucking good together every time.

|
Ciampa / Thatcher vs. Oney / Doone was good. Ridge Holland is back now, he didn't really get to even establish a character before he got injured this last time, so that will be interesting to see.
Samoa Joe vs. Kross is gonna be a murder. Maybe after Joe buries Kross, Jeff Hardy will come out and pin Kross again for no reason. Carmelo Hayes seems like the obvious winner of the Breakout Tournament. No one else has been built up as well. Raquel Gonzalez's opponent is perfect. THEY ANNOUNCED WALTER/DRAGUNOV FOR TAKEOVER, Jesus Christ. |
Swerve vs. Santos is a Takeover level match that probably won't even make the cut.
|
Ric Flair is still in the opening signature.

Some fan shouting CM Punk :nono:
