Seanny One Ball 11-20-2019 01:01 PM

I remember on one of Bear Grylls "The Island" shows the castaways found the corpses of dozens of baby turtles on the beach after hatching.

So they ate them.

It was incredible watching them bite clean through the soft shells.

RP 11-25-2019 09:00 PM

I just finished Jack Ryan season 2. Really good.

Love both seasons. Probably the closes thing to 24.

Just watched the first ep the other day and it seems good, going to work my way through now.

El Vaquero de Infierno 11-26-2019 11:38 AM

I'd say season 1 of Jack Ryan is superior to the most recent one, but season 2 is worth watching.

I'm currently on to the second season of The Last Ship. It's kind of naff, yet, I enjoy it a lot.

Seanny One Ball 11-27-2019 11:58 AM

"Kolchak: The Night Stalker"

Great fun. Darren McGavin is the original paranormal investigator. I now wish to see The X Files from start to finish as this is an acknowledged inspiration for it.

Destor 12-04-2019 10:18 AM

Wrapped up man in the high castle. Final season was good over all even if the ending was unearned

El Vaquero de Infierno 12-04-2019 11:43 AM

On to the third season of The Last Ship, and I have finally started watching the first season of Penny Dreadful; I bought it a couple of years ago but for whatever reason never bothered to watch it.

rez 12-04-2019 10:23 PM

Another stellar episode of Castle Rock earlier

Black Widow 12-06-2019 12:17 AM

Masked Singer.

What a awful show full of nobodies.

Seanny One Ball 12-06-2019 03:48 AM

Stop watching it then

Black Widow 12-08-2019 12:09 AM

It's something my kids like and much like wwe if they didnt enjoy it i wouldn't be watching.

Destor 12-08-2019 01:13 AM

Marvellous Mrs Maisel S3

Best show going today

El Vaquero de Infierno 12-13-2019 11:58 AM

I finished the first season of Penny Dreadful, and I look forward to watching the other two seasons soon.

I watched the first episode of The Boys last night, and I can tell Karl Urban is going to be gold. Furthermore, Erin Moriarty is adorable.

El Vaquero de Infierno 12-26-2019 08:20 AM

I finished the second season of The Purge; I'd like to see a third to round off the series.

El Vaquero de Infierno 12-27-2019 04:12 PM

I'm currently watching The Lost Room, on Prime, which is a six-part series that originally aired in 2006. It has Peter Krause (Six Feet Under) and Julianna Margulies (ER, The Good Wife).

I'm two episodes in and I'm enjoying it quite a lot; it is a silly sci-fi, but has a proper story. If you liked Warehouse 13, and to a less extent The X-Files (nowhere near as dark), then I think you'll like it.

El Vaquero de Infierno 01-02-2020 05:15 AM

The Expanse is such binge-tastic TV; not enough Jared Harris, though.

I'm coming to the end of season 2. So good.

Destor 01-02-2020 07:06 PM

I wanna watch it but just havent been able to fit it in

El Vaquero de Infierno 01-04-2020 11:05 AM

I'm ready to start season 4 of The Expanse; sooooo fuckin' good!

GD 01-04-2020 03:38 PM

Season two of You. It went from decent to very good.

El Vaquero de Infierno 01-06-2020 05:00 PM

Finished all four current seasons of The Expanse. We will probably have to wait until the end of this year for season 5. I'm hoping Jared Harris will return, as I don't think he's been seen since season 2.

If you like sci-fi, you need this series. Soooo good.

Lock Jaw 01-11-2020 09:40 PM

Just finished Season 2 of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel..... good stuff....

Destor 01-12-2020 12:07 AM

If only they'd cast Aquaman instead of Shazam...

El Vaquero de Infierno 01-12-2020 06:03 AM

I've started the second season of Bosch after binging the first one. I've seen the first two/perhaps three seasons, but I haven't seen the most recent two. Titus Welliver should get more love; underated actor.

I'm also on to season 4 of The Magicians, but it has definitely taken a back seat to Bosch.

Seanny One Ball 01-13-2020 01:51 PM

Titus Welliver gets too friggin' much love.
Ugh, he's just awful.

El Vaquero de Infierno 01-13-2020 02:32 PM

His accent when he played the IRA mob boss, Jimmy O, in Sons of Anarchy was atrocious. Other than that, give the man some love.

Seanny One Ball 01-13-2020 03:00 PM

It was SOA and his Irish accent that I was thinking of, and he was no better in any other show he popped up in.

Sepholio 01-13-2020 04:51 PM

Been burning through a lot of these foreign Netflix originals. Messiah, Witcher, Altered Carbon, Dark, The Rain, Ad Vitam, Travelers, Glitch....all these shows are really awesome. Netflix has a really good content model in terms of snatching up shows and dubbing them.

Sepholio 01-13-2020 04:54 PM

Currently on glitch btw. It has a very good pacing on dripping reveals and throwing new questions at you. Digging it so far.

Lock Jaw 01-13-2020 05:30 PM

Really need to get around to watching season 2 of Dark....

El Vaquero de Infierno 01-20-2020 02:14 PM

I've watched all current five seasons of Bosch, and now await season 6. It is so good.

I'm rewatching Heroes, which I haven't seen since it was originally on many moons ago. I think I only saw the first two seasons.

I didn't mind him in Grimm. Granted he was killed off in one episode

Grimm is a favourite of mine. A Baldwin gets killed off right at the start of one episode.

Season 3 of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina dropped today. oh snap

Bad News Gertner 01-29-2020 11:14 AM

Sunderland Til I Die Season 2 is supposed to drop in 4-6 weeks.

Been looking forward to it since I finished Season 1

Destor 01-29-2020 12:46 PM

Just finished sex ed s2 and now onto You s2.

El Vaquero de Infierno 01-29-2020 03:33 PM

I've found myself bingeing old seasons of Hell's Kitchen (US). I don't know why, as I've never watched this stuff in the past, but I enjoy it.

I'm nearing the end of season 4 of The Magicians, but still in the early stages of the first season of Heroes; Hell's Kitchen has been occupying my time.

I think I will start watching the new season of Vikings this week or perhaps next week; I haven't decided.

slik 01-30-2020 09:19 PM

Stephen King's The Outsider on HBO

First four eps really creepy/good/unsettling

SlickyTrickyDamon 01-30-2020 09:19 PM

star trek picard

RP 01-31-2020 04:55 AM

I thought i posted about this, but i binged both seasons of Castle Rock. Fantastic. I thought Season 2 was better, but i loved both.

Helmsphere 01-31-2020 06:42 AM

Just finished the third season of Sabrina

Seanny One Ball 01-31-2020 12:02 PM

Watched October Faction. It's ok at best. The premise is there but they rush a lot of things, certain decisions people make are baffling and while I don't mind shows having a social agenda they push it really hard here and it can feel forced at times.

Sepholio 02-02-2020 10:45 AM

Netflix is really killing it with these foreign language shows they are picking up and dubbing. Just got done watching season 1 of Ragnarok and once again came away thoroughly entertained and wanting more.

This brings me to a more interesting point though: Everyone acts like American cinema/television is the peak of entertainment or something, but over the last couple years I have found myself marveling at how much better foreign television shows are. Seems like they haven't run out of creativity like we have over here. Their settings are also more varied than ours and they rely less on big budget special effects and only use them when it makes sense. I have now watched shows from Australia, France, Norway, Finland, Germany and Turkey, among others and they are better than anything I've seen come out of the American media in years.

I just can't watch shows that don't use the English language.

Sepholio 02-02-2020 05:56 PM

They do. All the shows are dubbed into English. They just have moments where it's like old GOJIIIIRRRRAAAAA movies and the lip syncing is a bit off.

RP 02-03-2020 10:40 PM

I'm watching Perfume right now and it's pretty good so far.

If it's dubbed, I cant tell.

Seanny One Ball 02-03-2020 10:46 PM

Parfume stary af a mardarar

RP 02-04-2020 01:33 AM

Just finished Perfume. Excellent.

( Lots of pussy eating in it too )

Seanny One Ball 02-04-2020 03:08 PM

They made a show about pussy eating and named it "Perfume?"

I'm guessing the creators are optimists or all have anosmia

What about the show Pen15? It's about 2 middle school girls dealing with the struggles of teenage life and I guess cocks? I dunno, you should watch it RP and report back.

Peener Pan, the dick that never grew up.

Seth82 02-12-2020 04:37 PM

finished Season 1 of The Handmaid's Tale this week. - 9/10.

such an incredible show with an amazing cast. I've always liked Elisabeth Moss since her days on Mad Men.

Destor 02-12-2020 06:33 PM

Season 1 was outstanding. Its down hill hard from there though

rez 02-12-2020 08:08 PM

I got around to watching ep1 of Lego Masters. Pretty good

Seanny One Ball 02-17-2020 05:50 PM

Forgot how amazing Kenny Vs Spenny was.
God, I really used to love that show.

Seth82 02-17-2020 10:05 PM

finished season 2 of The Handmaid's Tale this weekend.

not nearly as good as the first season. it was still a good show though.

7/10.

El Vaquero de Infierno 02-18-2020 12:18 PM

I'm currently rewatching the first season of Outlander; I don't know why but I like it so much (ok, its partially because the woman that plays Claire is rather attractive).

I've also started the second season of Heroes.

Seanny One Ball 02-18-2020 03:40 PM

Heroes season 2 is barely worth it. Season 3 definitely isn't.

Lock Jaw 02-18-2020 04:11 PM

People trash on season 2, but it was my favourite.

I only watched the first half of season 3 I believe, because they did a "split season" or something and I just assumed the season was over..... and then I just never watched it again....

But of what I saw... I remember really liking season 2

Seanny One Ball 02-18-2020 04:19 PM

It's not terrible but it's a sideshow. Season 1 should be used in film schools to teach young film makers how to create something unique from a familiar premise. Season two should be used in later classes to show how badly a mediocre season can damage a property as a whole when continued in the face of severe industry and production issues.

Hayden Panettiere should have become a huge star from Heroes. Look at her FFS.

The writers strike is why the season got split up

rez 02-19-2020 07:40 AM

I stuck with Heroes until the end but it def peaked during season 1

Destor 02-19-2020 09:58 AM

The EP wanted each season to be standalone with its own arc and characters. Show blew up and the cast got popular so NBC wanted them to come back. Problem is several of them were way too OP/their stories were complete. Show couldnt endure it.

RP 02-22-2020 05:32 AM

I just finished episode 2 of Locke and Key. It's really really good. Better than Stranger Things so far.

Lego Master

I won't copy and paste the conversation but a buddy and I just conversed why the last 2 episodes of Lego Masters were dog shit. Reality TV but still.. Lego is a passion. Fuck you, Will Arnett and FOX.

I need to get back on the dating scene lol.. come on spring weather.

El Vaquero de Infierno 03-07-2020 05:13 AM

Just finished the third season of Outlander. I feel the cycle of diminishing returns is starting to set-in, with the need for increased ridiculousness to keep things interesting (though the premise is ridiculous anyways). I'm going to give it a rest for a week or two before beginning season 4.

I started the second season of Penny Dreadful last night.

I still haven't finished season 2 of Heroes; I'll probably try to finish it this weekend.

El Vaquero de Infierno 03-07-2020 02:05 PM

Just found out Amazon has Round the Twist included on Prime; looks like I'll be going down memory lane.

El Vaquero de Infierno 03-11-2020 02:32 PM

Season 2 and 3 of Heroes are worth watching just for Dania Ramirez; I'd forgotten how much of a smoke show she was.

Seanny One Ball 03-11-2020 02:50 PM

Round The Twist was wonderful. Paul Jennings is a genius.

Seanny One Ball 03-11-2020 02:54 PM

"For Ever" by Paul Jennings is probably the best short story for kids I ever read. I read it once 20+ years ago and ai still think about it regularly.

So strange.

Good Girls

GD 03-19-2020 07:42 PM

I am currently watching "High Fidelity" (Hulu) and it is surprisingly descent. I really loved the John Cusack movie and am considering reading the book.

El Vaquero de Infierno 03-26-2020 02:47 PM

I'm giving Versailles another go. I watched the first two episodes a few years back, but at the time I couldn't reconcile watching a period drama that has modern music and stopped. I've found it more watchable the second time round, and I don't find the modern music as intrusive as before.

I finished re-watching the whole of The Tudors, yesterday; the show is ridiculous, but still very watchable.

I begin Star Trek Picard tomorrow.

slik 03-27-2020 02:09 AM

I believe I abandoned the series because I couldn’t care after a while.

One of those shows that def did go "downhill", but by the time it did there were "enough" characters that I still wanted to see how things went for them that you stick it through and follow the series to the end anyways.....
