Jeff Cobb (Matanza in Lucha Underground) recently teased at wanting to join the WWE in the near future on his Instagram account.

Not a bad description but I'd put most of it on Impact wanting him to be that character. Was much better when he was with James Storm in the Revolution as Khoya.

Mr. Nerfect 02-14-2018 10:52 PM

Yeah, I'm really surprised to hear they are paying Ziggler that much. I mean, who was the last person to benefit from working with him?

Mr. Nerfect 02-14-2018 10:52 PM

I'm kind of expecting Buddy Murphy to win the tournament, to be honest.

Sixx 02-14-2018 10:57 PM

What I hate the most about Ziggler is his name. How in the world could they put the strap on someone named DOLPH ZIGGLER? It's like Child Diddler.

Miz?

Although that was more because the storyline of Title vs Career was really good.

#1-norm-fan 02-14-2018 11:05 PM

$1.5 million a year seems like a shitload of money for Dolph considering how expendable they treat him.

Emperor Smeat 02-14-2018 11:13 PM

Would put him in the top 5-6 range assuming the amount is true. Brock supposedly makes around $6 million a year, Cena around $2 million, Triple H around $1-$2 million, and then several in the $1-$1.5 million range.

Think he was rumored before to be making in the $500k-$750k range per year.

Sixx 02-14-2018 11:23 PM

Cena only makes 500k more than fucking Dolph Ziggler?

If the WWE were a taco, Dolph would be olives that cost $10 extra.

Who the fuck even has olives in a taco? You watch him get a big push now that they're paying him for it though. He's already been added to the Fastlane main event. I can see him being moved to Raw and working with Roman Reigns or being the first challenger for Shinsuke Nakamura after Mania.

He makes a lot more off of merch and other stuff but think the $2 million range is his base salary. Also very possible he makes closer to $3 million as his base.

Same for Triple H making more money when you include other stuff he gets as perks. He gets two paychecks with his wrestler one being lower than his COO one.

Bigger piece of the houses meaning bigger cut from the house shows?

Droford 02-14-2018 11:35 PM

Dolph wins the title and makes it a triple threat so he can finally main event* Wrestlemania

*and by "Main event wrestlemania" we mean wrestle in a title match that occurs sometime on the card but not the last match on the card cause thats Roman Reigns time to shine

Mr. Nerfect 02-14-2018 11:49 PM

Not the most unrealistic thing in the world at this point, especially if they don't trust Styles and Nakamura as a program.

Nicky Fives 02-15-2018 06:42 AM

I love Dolph as much as the next guy, but even I find his payday a bit strange. I guess it makes sense since he's been in the company for quite awhile, but it seems like they have tons of guys they could elevate to his spot for WAY cheaper with a small tweak to their booking. No reason why someone like Curt Hawkins, Curtis Axel, Bo Dallas, Zack Ryder, Elias or Chad Gable to take his "has great matches with the big star to make him look good but always job" spot in the upper mid-card after a few months of stronger booking beforehand.....

Ryder - I'm tired of tag teams, I'm tired of being overlooked. This is my dream job and nobody is taking it away from me. Heel turn, US Title reign, close loss to WWE Champion Styles/Nakamura. Elevated.

Axel/Dallas - Miz would have been nothing without us. He cares more for his unborn kid than us. We are third generation. Championships are our destiny. Request a trade from Raw to Smackdown. Inserted into WWE Title picture, close loss to WWE Champion Styles/Nakamura. Elevated.

This doesn't seem like rocket science to me.....

#BROKEN Hasney 02-15-2018 11:43 AM

Lol did he say that?

Simple Fan 02-15-2018 12:36 PM

I think he also gets freedom to do this gs outside the company as long as it doesn't contradict his WWE schedule and he can leave once his segment is done and doesn't have to stick around to the end of the show.

Ol Dirty Dastard 02-15-2018 12:40 PM

In fairness...... good on him for negotiating that deal. He deserves kudos given how rough it's been for him.

#1-norm-fan 02-15-2018 02:25 PM

Given how much his focus seems to be on outside ventures and how people who know him talk about him, I get the feeling he's stopped giving a fuck. And that's a good thing. If he were really concerned about how his character is handled at this point he'd have lost his fucking mind.

Evil Vito 02-15-2018 02:26 PM

I'm pretty certain Dolph stopped giving a fuck when they did absolutely nothing with him after Survivor Series 2014.

Ol Dirty Dastard 02-15-2018 02:37 PM

The lack of giving a fuck is probably what got him that deal. Honestly, sweet jesus. I just don't get it lol.

#1-norm-fan 02-15-2018 02:42 PM

Maybe it's like the old movie cliche where the guy stands up at a business meeting like "You know what, sir! Fuck you and fuck this company! I'm fed up!" and his boss is like "... I like your spunk! RAISE!"

#1-norm-fan 02-15-2018 02:43 PM

Oh my God... Dolph Ziggler is Peter Gibbons from Office Space...

Ol Dirty Dastard 02-15-2018 02:59 PM

He's definitely replacing Brian Pillman as the highest paid curtain jerker in the business.

According to the Observer, WWE is considering the idea of pairing Paul Heyman with Roman Reigns after Mania. The idea being Heyman would cover for Reigns lack of promo skills as a top star and give them an option for a future heel turn. Would be their backup plan in case Lesnar does bolt for MMA again after Mania.

There is another rumor floating around of Heyman and Ronda Rousey being paired together with the same assumption of Lesnar leaving after Mania.

Ol Dirty Dastard 02-15-2018 08:22 PM

I do love the story that taker was a total sweetheart during the flair 30 for 30 filming. Seems like a nice guy...just very patriotic. I'm not really down with nationalism and all that noise but to each his own.

Emperor Smeat 02-15-2018 08:24 PM

Seems a dispute between the WWE and Lita occurred recently resulting in an auction for charity held by Lita being pulled.

Lita was auctioning her Women's Rumble gear for a sexual harassment awareness movement called TimesUp and had to cut short the auction by several days.

lol I think Corgan is an interesting trippy guy, but I don't even like their famous songs. Anything after the mid 90s isn't relevant. Most people probably don't even think they made anything after that point, when in reality it's just failure after failure. The power is in the older tracks, because to many, they still stand the test of time.

Fignuts 02-16-2018 07:13 AM

Yeah, anything after Melloncollie is awful.

Maluco 02-16-2018 08:05 AM

They do have a classic period, but there is def good stuff after Mellon Collie. Machina is one of their best albums, it's fantastic. Check out Stand inside your love, everlasting gaze, try, try, try, wound. It's a great album with a great sound.

It's hit and miss after that, but Zeitgeist and Oceania both have some cool songs on them too. He is a really underrated song writer tbh.

I'm 100% positive that I've heard 3 of their songs tops so not all of those were that huge I guess.

Jordan 02-16-2018 08:38 AM

In 97 they did Tonight Tonight at the VMA's and won best video of the year so that would probably be their biggest hit. But you'd know Bullet With Butterfly Wings as the song that starts off "DESPITE ALL MY RAGE I AM STILL JUST A RAT IN A CAGE'. A great pro wrestling montage song.

I don't care what Undertaker's politics are 'in real life'.

Taker and HBK are probably my two all-time favorites and I'm pretty confident I have nothing in common with their political beliefs...it has absolutely nothing to do with them being great wrestlers in their prime.

No one should care about what political/religious beliefs any wrestlers have. RE: posts about Taker/politics

"Tonight, Tonight" is easily one of the greatest videos ever made, with its references to the beginnings of cinema as we know it.

That actually used to be a somewhat common Rumble trope with someone unexpected getting to the final four...D'Lo Brown in 1999, X-Pac in 2000, Mr. Perfect in 2002

It's pretty well "died out" in recent years, though

This really sucks. Lufisto was basically the godmother of women's independent wrestling. It's a shame she never got her showcase on a bigger platform. I really pulling for her.

It's pretty well "died out" in recent years, though

Fake Diesel made it to the final 4 in 1997

For someone with alleged money problems, Cena sure does love to keep wasting a lot of money on cars.

For some perspective, he's currently being sued by Ford and claimed he only sold the sponsored car without permission because he needed money for some "bills."

It's weird... he doesn't seem like a dummy... figured he'd be better with his flow.

Emperor Smeat 02-16-2018 08:15 PM

How much do those cars typically cost?

Doubt Nikki makes enough on her own to simply splurge on an exotic car like that as a gift without taking a huge hit financially. Even if they split the costs, feel like its still would be a big hit for finances.

yeah im definitely not about to speculate on another persons finances, especially when im just shown a picture of a car he "woke up to"

Read it again. "Woke up in" it says. Which is baffling really.

Did she drag his sleeping ass inside the car?

Taker and HBK are probably my two all-time favorites and I'm pretty confident I have nothing in common with their political beliefs...it has absolutely nothing to do with them being great wrestlers in their prime.

No one should care about what political/religious beliefs any wrestlers have. RE: posts about Taker/politics

Unless you give a shit about other human beings and don't want to support someone with shitty beliefs that hurts them. I dunno.

Not sure how reliable the information is, but Cornette did a bit about NXT's ticket sales versus expenditure on his show this week. Cornette doesn't usually bullshit, but it's possible the information is just wrong, because NXT sounds like it is running at a shocking deficit. Something like $8 million in ticket sales versus $25 million in expenditure. It just seems...too much.

Emperor Smeat 02-17-2018 03:33 AM

That seems very possible considering Triple H has been on record before about the Performance Center and NXT being money losing departments. His justification was WWE needed to revamp its entire developmental system and those losses being cheap when looking at the bigger picture of WWE's future.

They do lose more money touring compared to RAW and Smackdown brands but as a counter, their tv shows are way cheaper to produce since a bulk of their staff doesn't need to be paid because Full Sail supplies them.

I've mentioned this show on Viceland called "The Wrestlers" before. This week they did a show on the DDT promotion from Japan.

Fucking awesome show.

This. I think its easy to say "You shouldn't care about someone elses politics" if those politics don't directly affect you.
