If Triple H could put aside his ego and his dislike for a person and focus on business then I think it could probably be a lot better. For example, I don't think he was a big fan of Zack Ryder"
While Zack Ryder had a funny internet show, that did not translate to the ring.

Why does it look like Mr. T is rejecting a sexual proposal from Hulk Hogan?

I think Hogan was telling Mr. T that Mr. T's momma loved that t-shirt before Mr. T had to go cut the sleeves off.

Mr. T had to poop.

According to F4W, Vince/Creative is rumored to want The Lucha Dragons to have their own mascot wrestler.

El Torito would join the Luchas while Los Matadores turn heel and get Hornswoggle to replace him.

Why not just find them a "Kimodo Dragon" like they found Ricky Steamboat back in the day?

#1-norm-fan 05-11-2015 06:01 PM

Not the worst idea, really.

#1-norm-fan 05-11-2015 06:03 PM

Plus, not only would it lead to an actual tag team feud between two good, legit tag teams (which is incredibly rare nowadays) but it would re-ignite the Hornswoggle-El Torito feud and the possibility of WeeLC 2, which I am all for.

debating how awkward I'd look trying to do the rainmaker Pose in a pic with Okada. Either that or one Maria so I can mention I graduated JWU where she's going. My luck I won't get there early enough

Innovator 05-12-2015 12:12 PM

My 2 cents, SUPER awkward

Innovator 05-12-2015 12:13 PM

But everyone would look awkward doing the pose next to the majestic Okada

Droford 05-12-2015 12:30 PM

The card for tonight is fantastic but I'm bummed out that neither Makabe or Ishii are on it since that was my favorite WK9 match, two guys just beating the crap out of each other.

ROH has not officially announced the clearance, so it may be a situation similar to ROH in Dallas, Texas where the show aired for some time before being listed by the company and "officially debuting."

I am told that the series may not be picked up by all NESN local affiliates, so check your local listings and/or set your DVR for the timeslot to see what airs.

As noted, WWE had a live event scheduled on May 31st at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, SC, which would have been on the same day as the newly announced Elimination Chamber special at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, TX. John Cena and Rusev were advertised for the Greenville show.

WWE has postponed the Greenville show, which will now be a Monday Night RAW event on November 16th. Online ticket purchases will be refunded to the cards with which they were purchased, while tickets purchased at the box office or other locations can be exchanged at the point of purchase for the RAW show.

Former WWE writer Kevin Eck has published a new blog over at KevinEckWrestling.com, and below are some excerpts on original WWE plans for the Lord Tensai character. For those unaware, Lord Tensai was played by current WWE NXT head trainer Matt Bloom, aka Jason Albert.

“When Bloom returned to WWE a few years ago, the intention was to make him a main-event-level monster heel, and the creative team was assigned to come up with a character for him. Among the pitches for Bloom were for him to be a masked mauler, an ex-prisoner in an orange jumpsuit and an American samurai.

I was of the belief that the best option was to give him a cool-looking mask with black ring attire that showed the tattoos on his upper body but covered his ample midsection. The more we hide his identity, I thought, the less chance the crowd will be chanting ‘Albert’ at him.

I also thought he needed a mouthpiece, and my suggestion was to hire James Mitchell as his manager. The samurai character was my least favorite. Of course, that’s the one we went with. And instead of a manager, he was given a follower who never spoke English named Sakamoto.”
According to him, the original plan was for Cena vs Tensai to be the main event of Summerslam that year which he thought had no chance the moment Tensai debuted. Was right in his assumption that Tensai would get over way more as a joke character than a serious one.

Quote:

When the creative team was shown clips of Rusev matches and promos from NXT so that we could start working on ideas for him when he was called up to the main roster, I and several other members of the team burst out laughing.

With his loincloth-type ring attire, over-the-top facial expressions, wild hair and primal screams, the guy was unintentionally hilarious. This was a heel character straight out of the 1970's that would never work today, I thought.

We started coming up with pitches for him as a comedy act, but we were told that Triple H envisioned Rusev as a monster heel so we had better forget about the character being played for laughs ...

It turned out that some people above my pay grade saw some of the same flaws with Rusev's presentation that I and others on the creative team did. Before Rusev made his WWE debut, his ring attire was changed and he was instructed to tone down the facial expressions and screaming and to wet his hair so that it didn't look look so wild.

While the changes were for the better, I remained steadfast in my opinion that Rusev would never get over to the level that Triple H was expecting.

During that time, Vince McMahon also questioned whether Lana should remain part of the act or if Rusev was better off going it alone. I didn't think Rusev had a great chance of being a success even with Lana by his side, but without her he had zero chance.

Fortunately, McMahon decided to keep Lana with Rusev, and it wasn't long before "The Ravishing Russian" became one of McMahon's favorite characters (go figure).

Just like Tensai, Rusev was given a huge push from the start with the intention of having him work on top against Cena. The plan was for Rusev to be Cena's opponent at WrestleMania.

After Rusev began appearing regularly on Raw and SmackDown, I still wasn't sold on him making it as a top guy, but it did become apparent that my initial thought that he would suffer the same fate as Tensai was wrong.

Before long, I realized that Rusev was everything that Triple H thought he would be.
Same former WWE writer from the Tensai article above.

  • RAW ended up doing slightly better viewers wise (3.6 million vs 3.5 million) compared to last week but the 3rd hour dropped badly (3.3 million vs 3.6 million) to the point of being the lowest since RAW switched to 3 hours (not counting weeks with football games or holidays). today I learned I'm not alone in my hatred for AJ Styles. Not many though, since it felt like a bullet club convention.
Cole hit him with a Styles Clash for 2.8 but Styles ended up winning with two hollow pts 2nd into a Styles Clash.

And Okada/Nakamura vs the Briscoes was crazy too.

Only two bad matches the worst was Elgin vs Naito

Now I can't wait for nxt on thursday
