I need a hand naming some new teams for my WWE 2k18 bollocks I do. I got Sin Cara and The Godfather, which is obviously Botched Pimping, but I need names for the other 2.
Sami Zayn & Shane McMahon (Had Ska Money but that sounds dumb) Lars Sullivan & Enzo Amore (I have no fucking clue) |
Smack-Talker Skywalker & Owen Lars Sullivan
|
Tatooine Dream
|
The Shane & Zayn Money Train
|
Sin Cara & Godfather: No Faces, No Names
|
Sullivan & Enzo: Untouchable & Unteachable
|
Freak & Speak
|
Lug & Tug
|
I'ma try.
Braun Strowman and Gregory Helms - Braun Sugar But I think I pronounce Braun wrong. |
I'm going back and watching old matches I haven't seen in years to try and wash away my cynicism. Bret and Owen in the Steel Cage at SummerSlam '94 is a masterpiece on levels that I never appreciated as a kid.
|
Just going to give a shout out to Rev Pro's top half of the card tomorrow. Their NJPW relationship is making for some goddamn gold matchups. Can't make it, but will be catching up on demand.

I'm actually curious about the main event.
|
I'm actually starting to become a real fan of Bret Hart. I've always liked certain stuff I saw as a kid, and I respect his contributions to the business, but he's never really been one of "my guys." I just re-watched The Hart Foundation vs. The Brain Busters from SummerSlam '89. Sweet Jesus.
I think I'm going to go on a Bret Hart kick tomorrow and watch a whole bunch of stuff I sort of half-heartedly watched when I was younger and perhaps a bit more naive and ignorant. |
Trent Seven is going to be very sore on Sunday morning.
|
Del Rio said he apologized to Triple H for the comments he made about them, and that he believes he'll have one more WWE run in 2019.
Please dear god no................. |
The Authors Of Pain are only 23 & 24 years of age respectively. I had no idea they were that young. Learning this made me like them even more, they have loads of potential.

Ended up going with Zayn-O-Mac and the Bona Fide Freaks, thanks for all the suggestions!

Natty trying to do Nakamura's hand thingy reminds me of Mike Tyson doing messed up looking DX chops back in the day. |

It's one of those uncomfortable situations where you don't want to talk out of school, but you also don't want to stick your head in the sand. I just can't see the WWE shaking hands with him again.

So, for some reason, this exists.

I'd like to see Del Rio back if they're actually going to give him a thing to do. Though I like him more than most, I think.
|
Also would 100p be at Mania in Philly. I'm 45 minutes from the stadium.

Mixed Match Challenge is on the Network.
|
Interesting. Figured they'd keep it just on Facebook Watch cause that's the whole point of it.
|
Nah, they announced it would just be delayed. Makes sense since the Facebook bollocks is US only.
|
Just got reminded of the Heyman-booked period of OVW with the Johnny Jeter & Cappotelli title match

Cappotelli was great too, but got injured straight after his first main roster call up, then was the only wrestler I know of to benefit from a concussion as they found that brain tumor he had due to a routine scan after a concussion.
Was supposed to tag with Johnny Nitro on the main roster. Fan of Joey Mercury, but think that could have been an even better team. |
|
I remember they randomly brought Johnny Jeter back for some huge 30-man battle royal they had on Raw in late 2006. He had been off-screen since the Spirit Squad ended and I figured they'd brought him back to do something with Kenny Dykstra, the only Squad member to stay on the main roster.
Instead he was never seen on the main roster again. Puzzling considering how good he was. |

Jeter is also part of the concussion lawsuit against the WWE now.

Wade Barrett does a bit of wrestling related stuff on the side but he's pretty much done as an active wrestler and several former women wrestlers admitted their time in the WWE killed their desire to continue in the industry. Then you have others like Swagger who still wrestles but also admitted about how much passion he lost because of the WWE. |
Oh, there's an entire lost generation of wrestlers who were stamped out by the WWE and shitty gimmicks in the 21st century. I get mocked for liking a lot of the first wave OVW wrestlers, but they should have been more than gimps, the mentally challenged, French sympathizers (what the fuck does that even mean?), male strippers, stutterers, stylists and cheerleaders.
|
To be fair, Rico as a stylist was great and given that he was 40 when he was called up his ceiling was never going to be particularly high. As it is he got a decent amount of screen time in his two and a half years on the roster and totally killed it in the role he was given.
|
Even though their gimmicks were doomed to fail almost from the start, Eugene and Scotty Goldman (Colt Cabana) probably would have been a lot more successful if they arrived in the WWE a few years later.
Cabana's style of comedy as a wrestler would have fit a lot better in the PG era while Eugene could have been molded into a potential huge star and hero for disabled children. |

Dinsmore, coming along today, probably would have been tearing it up in the indies as a "wrestling genius," had some good stuff going for him in ROH, EVOLVE and New Japan -- stretching out guys like Zack Sabre, Jr. Then NXT would have signed him to be a player/coach for a while and see if the smarks ate him up. Then he'd either get a push towards the NXT Title or moved to the main roster and then either forgotten about on SmackDown or slum it on Raw like any of the indy guys are currently doing. |
Eugene was mega over until HHH cut his legs off
|
Eugene was a good rassler but his gimmick was retarded

I remember feeling genuinely sad when Evolution revealed their true colors to Eugene and beat the fuck out of him. You can basically pinpoint the moment this clueless mentally challenged man's heart breaks when he realizes his idol and his friends all hate his guts.
I actually wanted to see him get his revenge. Which of course never happened. |
Triple H can work with Eugene at SummerSlam, but he can't put him over -- that would be ridiculous.
|
What they could've done was use the angle to set up a mega push for Regal when he dropped this fucking awesome promo.
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/hImofL_MgWc" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
At the time I remember it being so "weird" and "surreal" that Chris Benoit had just won the big one, but the main focus of the show become a mentally challenged character and Benoit as just a "supporting player"
|
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/ja0TX_dX5iA" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Just weird to see. Clean shaven Eugene vs. Batista sans hair and massive back tattoo |
Eugene was a really big focus for a while, haha.

2000 was pretty good too. If for nothing else than Kaientai. |
Can't find the official bloody confirmation, but hearing that Pete Dunne has been pulled from an indie show next weekend. Hopefully we get a UK title match at Takeover or on the following NXT.

Zack Ryder just proposed to his girlfriend Laurel Van Ness over Twitter, and it might not have been a joke.

I think If she says yes to it they are engaged.

I want that Mean Gene action figure now too.

Today was the 10th anniversary of RAW airing in hd

The very last SD RAW (1/14/08) is actually in HD on The network with the old set. They must have tested shooting in HD. Its kinda weird

Nia Jax just hit Cedric Alexander with a Samoan Drop which directly followed by an Enzo Amore three count to retain the title.
On 205 Live Goldust won three against one against Tony Nese, Drew Gulag and Ariya Daivari. 205 Buried. |
Tonya Harding should join WWE and teach Nia Jax some manners.

Wwe needs to add midgets to 205 live

Didn't that happen because someone suggested that they re-brand the cruiserweights "junior heavyweights" and someone got confused between juniors and minis?

Attendance was apparently pretty good with the 205 Live house shows.
Results 1. Hideo Itami defeated Gentleman Jack Gallagher 2. Gran Metalik & Kalisto defeated Drew Gulak & TJP 3. Matt Hardy defeated Bray Wyatt 4. Akira Tozawa defeated Ariya Daivari 5. Mustafa Ali defeated Tony Nese 6. WWE Cruiserweight Title Match (Special Referee: Nia Jax) Enzo Amore (c) defeated Cedric Alexander Even on house shows, Lince Dorado can't get booked. Hasn't even had a match on 205 Live since July. |
Can't wait for Gallagher to annihilate Punk in the Octagon
