Met Jim Starlin at gasgow comic con today classy guy did sketches and signings for free while an indie scottish guy charged £10-£15 quid, got to him just before he went to a panel
long story short he spelled my name wrong didnt have time to do another so he signed and gave me an amazing thanos sketch he was selling for £95 what a fecking result Also hadt some interesting things to say about spiderman movie rights said that each comic ie Amazing & Spectacular and the rest were sold seperately and that James Cameron still owns one!!! also said he really really didnt care for the new movie great guy think he was surprised by how terrible Glasgow comic con was |
The Spidey rights thing is very interesting indeed, particularly in wake of my recent speculations.

If correct it is he said an incarnation of Spidey is legally possible in an FF movie or the avengers but who knows if its true

But that is a great episode. |
Marvel Comics working on a Thanos origin story.
Very Jealous of Optimus right now, Thanos being my favorite villain ever.
Don't particularly care for the fact that they are making a Thanos origin story. Feel like we already know just enough to understand his motivation, yet still keep that mystique about him. |
Same feelings toward Rise of Apocalypse really.
EMH: New Avengers was awesome. Fuck everyone involved in canceling this show.
>> Marvel.
Still hate Spidey's Ultimate voice but Grimm and Wolverine were cool. FASTBALL SPECIAL. |
Have had no interest in DC comics since new 52, but animated stuff is fantastic. Exact opposite with marvel.

Link to the article to go along with that picture. Only Hickman's Avengers doesn't make me go "hmm, sounds bad". And not liking some of the designs in that image. |
Concept art from Iron Man 3 shows new armor pieces:

Looks closer in style to the bleeding edge armor, than the extremis.
True, but the Extremis armor looked pretty close to the movie armor already, so I guess they needed to pick one that looks significantly different.
I do love the helmet for extremis though. Hope they at least keep that.

This looks cool. |
What gun is that?
One of the Not-Skrull guns? |
Yes, a Chitauri weapon.
Nice.
Also the end of AvX has been leaked. Jean Grey does come back...but it's a version of her from the past. *headesks* |
You guys could really give a fuck about spoilers, huh? Not that I personally care for comic spoilers, but somebody around here probably did.
Shadow is just retarded. You should know that by now.

I will say that it's funny how the reasoning behind said origin story (paraphrased: "so Hollywood won't mess it up") was 100% negated with the movie. |

Not the case with Thanos. |

All New X-Men, I think.
That's the one.

It's definitely Jean Grey, she's definitely from the past. She'll be with the other original X-Men.
You'd think Thor and Loki would look the same. Also World War Hulk. But they all look cool. Love the 'Iron Mage' concept.

Looking back I don't think you did. Sorry.

R.i.p. Coulson. I miss you bro!

Nick Fury used that death to great advantage, he's a man with Vision.

Heyo!!!

Here's my more in depth thoughts on why I'm not really hyped about Marvel Now:
I was already trying to have a smaller pull list because of my deflation in enthusiasm and interest in most books, I can actually wait longer to pick up my monthlies without being on the edge now. I mean sure, I'm curious to what happens in Marvel and how characters I know evolve but it doesn't feel like I 'must' stay on top of things every week. So this news of 'relaunched' books doesn't get my that excited, sure I'm enjoying Avengers vs X-Men (I still need to pick up issue 6 and 7) but I have no desire to go for the long haul on any of the new books so far unless the ones I already get end up getting relaunched (Uncanny X-Force, Deadpool, Amazing Spider-Man) If anything, I can just pick up a few trades at half price 2 or 3 months later and if I like it, keep buying the volumes over singles. |
Really hate the Scarlet Spider costume from the "reboot" I guess. Only thing good about it are the eyes on the mask.
Just downloaded a couple apps. Marvel CoMics and Comixology. They look the same except one is Marvel only. Anyone using these?
Don't bother with the Marvel app unless you just want to filter out the clutter of non-Marvel stuff, it's basically Comixology but only with Marvel titles. Also watch out if you're using it on a Kindle Fire, as apparently you can't buy any DC titles through that version of the app for some reason.
I like it as an app, big fan of how it converts comics to fit on my phone's screen and I really like the way it flows. What I do hate them for is constantly putting great titles on sale. Like right now they've got a big Walking Dead sale on with the first 99 issues for $0.99 each (or £0.69 over here), last week they had a load of cheap recent Amazing Spider-Man and Ultimate Spider-Man titles on sale to tie in with the new film. It's getting to be constant "take my money!", which combined with the limited storage space on my phone is going to get annoying fast. http://www.comixology.com/comics-sale keep an eye out there for new offers, generally new stuff every day or two |
The first Amazing Spiderman is free. Might take a gander. The search option is failing for some reason. Won't look up what I search.
Strange. You can also find/buy stuff through their website and sync it your phone/tablet.
WANT ALL OF THOSE!
Aside from the Item 47 screening, it seems Marvel Studios is going to announce something big today. Or rather... something very small...
YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
That is way too much gold on that armor.
If they were gonna do that to the body, they should have inverted the helmet; red face gold head.
Yeah, kinda ugly. Not enough red. Hopefully just an "alt" and not what he wears for the majority of the film.
I like it.

Marvel Comic-Con Movie News (Source Newsarama):
The long-rumored Guardians of the Galaxy movie is official, and was announced Saturday evening at the Marvel Studios panel during Comic-Con in San Diego. The film is scheduled for release on Aug. 1, 2014. http://i.newsarama.com/images/gotgconcept_02.jpg Additionally, the full titles for the Captain America and Thor sequels were announced: http://i.newsarama.com/images/thor2logo_02.jpg http://i.newsarama.com/images/cap2logo_02.jpg Test Footage from Ant-Man was shown, but no release date set. http://i.newsarama.com/images/antmanlogo_02.jpg On the Iron Man 3 front, it has been confirmed that Ben Kingsley is indeed The Mandarin. |
Pumped for the Winter Soldier arc on the big screen.
Mad psyched for winter soldier, and for Thor 2. I said before, that I think that Hela would be my villain of choice for Thor 2, and going off that title, I'd say chances are good.
Jessica Biel will apparently be playing Viper in the new Wolverine flick.
She's got a great look for it, but I don't recall her ever being in a role as an antagonist. Hope she can pull it off, cause Viper is one of my favorite wolvie villains. |
That would make two Blade alumni getting into a Wolverine movie. Close nit group here.

Anthony Mackie rumoured to be in talks for the part of The Falcon in Cap 2.
Does anybody else find it strange that Biel is going to be Madame Viper in The Wolverine, a chick with ties to Hydra?
Nah. They don't have to mention Hydra at all.
It would be sort of an elephant in the room, no?

Venom and Scarlet Spider team up to take on Carnage. |
Hate that they redeemed the scarlet witch. I thought she would of made a great, long lasting addition to the avengers rogues gallery.
Love marvel, but sometimes they don't have the balls to stay the course. *cough* Xorn *cough* |
Quote:
Theres a chance that they do mention hydra though... how cool would that be? remember if they had the time, they were going to put oscorp in the avengers
Says who
Marvel/Disney admitted that they were in fact going to put the Oscorp building from Amazing Spider-Man in the New York during the Avengers final battle. I posted about it a few pages ago.
I mean, I understand keeping your expectations low and taking things with a grain of salt, but this isn't Lady Deathstrike remixed as a female Wolverine - this is a character explicitly connected to an organization that played a major role in Marvel's Phase One. There should really be more speculation than what I've seen since this was announced.
In fact, people just sorta glossed over news of a direct fucking link between Sony's new Spidey-verse and Marvel/Disney's Movie-verse. And now a known Hydra villain is going to play a part in The Wolverine - a story very much based on the Japan arc, making Viper a delayed even off-tone inclusion. Why was that? |
Jessica Biel won't be playing her anyway, negotiations have fallen through.
Oh fuck. Well, my speculation remains if the character is recast.
Quote:
Because while Viper has connections to hydra, she is more of a stand alone villain than say Baron Von Strucker. You can easily do Viper without even mentioning Hydra. |
Oh okay.

It is an alien shoe that makes the wearer run superfast. They are using it to introduce Quicksilver into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Even though he should be owned by Fox with their X-Men rights, they somehow found a loophole to use the character because of his Avengers connections. Obviously his origin has been changed.
Also Batman is in it.
And Spawn.
And also Ash.
Stop trying to confuse the poor guy.
What about Chuck Norris?
Chuck Norris is an asshole.
Looks a little better than in the Comic-Con display. Still too much gold, though.
no pic
Dammit, Superherohype. I thought that was adjusted.
Does anyone know if there's a good version of Avengers to download already?
DVD rips should be out in a few months.
Scheduled for release on "Home Video" on September 25, so there probably won't be anything until closer to that time.
Damn, you could usually find whatever versions other than cam like a month after the movie premiere.
Waiting till Sept. 25 is gonna suck. |
