I just think that it's really cool that we can go back and watch it any time we want. The Network truly is the dopest shit a wrestling fan could ever hope for.

SlickyTrickyDamon 12-24-2017 01:20 AM

except for the music issues which are lame

Anybody Thrilla 12-24-2017 01:22 AM

So the fuck what?

Anybody Thrilla 12-24-2017 01:22 AM

Most of the music is intact.

I'm watching another Smackdown. I'm kinda into this. Why the fuck would Big Show need a "special friend"?

SlickyTrickyDamon 12-24-2017 01:24 AM

Currently watching a strange collection of Christmas matches hosted by Mick and Noelle. Not enough Noelle in it.

Anybody Thrilla 12-24-2017 01:24 AM

Rey Mysterio and the 619 cam. Teaming with Rob Van Dam. I hardly remember any of this.

Fignuts 12-24-2017 01:25 AM

I don't think I've ever had a quicker turn around on anyone, like I have on The Usos. No one bored me more than the Usos when they were faces. They killed my hype for the show dead whenever they came out.

When they turned heel they showed soooooooooo much more personality and charisma, and their theme was 100 times better. And I feel like being able to show more character has motivated them in the ring, because almost all of their matches since turning have been LIT.

Hope they never turn them full face again, because that could mean the return of boring focus group tested face Usos. Keep them the tweeners they are now at most.

Has there ever been a good "Christmas match"?

Currently watching Randy Orton \_o__/ facing David Otunga in a Miracle on 34th Street Fight. It's during Michael Cole is a heel announcer. :y:

Yeup. Netflix being really successful with their streaming model gave the push needed for WWE and other wrestling companies to open up their libraries a lot more than before.

Before the Network, WWE had their 24/7 service but was way smaller in scope and content.

Fignuts 12-24-2017 01:26 AM

Jinder Mahal is basically WWE 2k games.

Absolutely incredible presentation, but the mechanics are stale and broken.

Tyler Reks also in this Christmas Wish Battle Royal. Winner gets to ask Santa for something. I bet Hunico wins and asks to be Sin Cara.

Anybody Thrilla 12-24-2017 01:33 AM

Well that's a helluva concept.

Anybody Thrilla 12-24-2017 01:35 AM

Did Smackdown always start off with hot matches in this era? Way better than the promo stuff.

Anybody Thrilla 12-24-2017 01:35 AM

And how do I not remember Eddie Guerrero teaming with Booker T?

SlickyTrickyDamon 12-24-2017 01:35 AM

I've always been high on the Usos as a team. They had so many matches of the PPV this year. They also pretty much stole the show at Money in the Bank when it was in Boston against the Wyatt Family and now the new Bludgeon Brothers. Also that Triple Threat Ladder match with the New Day and the Lucha Dragons in TLC when it was in Boston.

Always were solid in the ring but now they are mean and showing more charisma.

I remember they had a double leg drop tag team move called "420". RVD told Vince it was just a reference to the amount of legs between the two of them (4) and their combined shoe size (20). Apparently Vince bought it.

Also, Michael Cole would have to explain what "420" meant every... single... match.

Anybody Thrilla 12-24-2017 01:39 AM

To quote Sophie, "The Usos and The Bludgeon Brothers have a fantastic chemistry in the ring. It really adds a lot to their matches."

Incredible presentation? What with commentary that constantly says the wrong lines, mis-timed entrance cues and a clear split in the quality of models when it comes to legends, I don't think so.

SlickyTrickyDamon 12-24-2017 03:02 AM

I can't believe they kept the lookatthisguyheallbusiness line that Lawler always said. This time Cole says it.

Yeah, say what you will, but the level of detail they go into with the arenas and replicating the actual show's presentation is commendable.

You know me. I'm a fire pro guy. Wouldn't say anything nice about the wwe games unless it was deserved.

Rumor going around the net hints Reigns' upcoming Universal title reign is going to be a really long one. Supposedly Vince wants Reigns to have a longer title reign than Lesnar in order to break the record for the belt.

Only problem is the rumor is associated with the Observer but those who listened to recent Observer Radio shows mentioned Meltzer never actually said that was the plans.

Could still end up happening considering when Cena had his coronation WWE title reign, it lasted 280 days and matched the previous champion's reign. If WWE does the same with Reigns, his upcoming reign is going to last a lot longer.

Lock Jaw 12-24-2017 05:10 PM

To put out one of many plot devices that have no payoff over time because they couldn't be assed to come up with one. They'll bring it up on some future anniversary show as a throwaway joke like Mae Young's grown up hand.

They should insert Braun into the main event and he destroys Brock and Reigns and it becomes his "coronation" moment.

Hard for Roman to have a "coronation" moment when he has already had a few.

Kind of think the WWE should have Brock beat Reigns at WrestleMania. Brock's going to be the babyface anyway, and you want to end on a high note. Throws the rest of the year into shade too, because fans think they are so smart.

Observer's Dave Meltzer teasing WWE is currently considering several major matchup ideas for Cena for next year's Mania.

Current rumor going around is Cena-Styles for the WWE title with Cena winning the Rumble but Meltzer thinks its more likely its going to involve someone not on the active roster instead. Basis for the Styles rumor involves betting sites currently have Cena as the favorite for the Rumble.

I can't wait to see the WWE champion play second fiddle to an aging legend who can barely put a compelling match together for more than two minutes.

Rammsteinmad 12-28-2017 05:19 AM

The last few Wrestlemania's have been fairly diabolical. Wish WWE would stop trying to push dream matches that usually end up being mostly average affairs and focus on making the rest of the show watchable.

Jordan 12-28-2017 07:39 AM

I don't think that The Undertaker is going to get an "emotional" send off for the second year in a row. If that is the plan, bad fucking plan jack.

Not sure if this has been posted, but holy fuck! Apart from the quick plug at the end, the intensisty here makes this comes across as really legit. Jericho saying he'll "kick the shit out of Omega" and calling someone a "fuck face" makes gives this so much realism and intrigue, than the usual WWE poop jokes or what have you.

Someone at RestERA's Wrestling thread managed to compile the weekly ratings/viewership for RAW this year and overall decline ended up being a little over 5%.

Only reason it wasn't worse was due to the surprise increases during the NFL season which WWE couldn't maintain after a while.

In regards to this year's Road to Mania, only 1 week did better than 2016's Road.

Wondering if Finn is mindful of his package showing?

The lad is rehabbing and his wife is pregnant. Give him some time.

Oh ok didn't know that. Looked up on wikipedia but didn't see anything about that.

For the record, I don't really care about him as I'm not familiar with any of his work. Just thought it seemed typical WWE to promote someone with vignettes and then have him do fuck all.

They think his wife is hot. (And she is)

If she weren't pregnant, I would have her lead Curt Hawkins to the ring. No one would notice that it isn't Mike.

Not saying it's ethically right, but Mike Kanellis probably has some residual heat on account of the fact that he knocked up the star of their act. Granted if you're going to get heat, having sex with your hot wife is the best possible way to do it. But still.

As it is he's not likely to be seen much in 2018 either. Maria's not due til mid 2018, she will need time for baby bonding, then she'd have to drop whatever baby weight she's accumulated to get herself back on TV.

But yeah, Mike's useless as a character without Maria. He's basically her proxy to wrestle men.

Mike would be great with Owens and Zayn I think.

I've said it before ever but the obvious thing will be to send him to NXT after rehab. At least there the shows are filmed in advance and at the same place so he would have more time with his wife and kid when born.

Then when the time is right you bring him back up to the main roster when Maria is ready and people wouldn't even remember him from before.
