Shanahan needs to go too tbh, kinda proven he can't do much without Elway. And I don't think Elway's coming back anytime soon, so...

RP 11-20-2006 01:00 AM

But no QB usually looks good when there Defense gives up 35 points

FearedSanctity 11-20-2006 01:06 AM

And no QB looks good at all when he helps the other team get those 35 points in one way or another

RP 11-20-2006 01:12 AM

I didnt watch the game, but the stats say Plummer only threw 1 INT. Anyways, Denver shouldnt be giving up 35 points. 27 points should have been enough to win with Denvers defense. So lets not pretend its all Jake PLummers fault.

FearedSanctity 11-20-2006 01:21 AM

No, it's not all Plummer's fault, but I do think he deserves a majority of the blame. Plummer's one INT (this week anyways) allowed the Chargers to score their last TD and kill most of the clock. That INT came as Denver was slowly moving their way downfield for a potential game winning FG.

His first fumble came on a 3rd down somewhere around the 15 or 20 on a snap that looked good, but he just dropped it, thus forcing Denver to kick the FG to give them only a 6 point lead.

His last fumble came with about 20 seconds left from around the 35 yard line. While not as bad as just dropping it like before, he could've, you know, not ran around with the ball with it just hanging out there, taken the sack and gotten up to throw some sort of unlikely miracle pass.

Like I said, it's not all Jake's fault for this game, and sure Denver's defense could've done better, but Jake didn't exactly make things easier.

I'm not saying whether Plummer is at fault here, but stats, especially looking at them blindly, do not tell the whole story.

RP 11-20-2006 01:34 AM

Plummer didnt give up 35 points. Maybe 7 depending on how that INT turned out, but if you have a defense thats been pumping there chest telling people how good they are and they give up 35 points. Lets spread a little blame that way too. I dont really need to see the game to realize that Denver shouldnt be giving up 35 points.

FearedSanctity 11-20-2006 01:36 AM

Never said he helped them get ALL 35, but he helped them get enough for it to matter.

The Cutler era can't start soon enough. He doesn't have to be the next Elway, but he just can't be the next Plummer. :'(

Dude... be thankful. At least you have, you know, a QB.

FUCK.

FearedSanctity 11-20-2006 01:56 AM

What? Plummer? Take him, please

CNM 11-20-2006 02:40 AM

FS, I agree with you on Jake. I'm done with him. But thinking Shanny is the problem is nuts. He's built the team back up from garbage to a legitimate Super Bowl contender. Once Cutler gets a little seasoning we'll be set.

FearedSanctity 11-20-2006 02:44 AM

Eh, yeah. Maybe I went a bit far. Shanahan is a good coach, I just hate his playcalling as of late

RP 11-20-2006 02:49 AM

I hope Bob Sanders is healthy next week =(

Skippord 11-20-2006 04:49 AM

Yeah I love the "lets not run the bootleg playcall" not running your best play is a great choice

We won't lose an NFC game the rest of the season..

Broncos really aren't gonna be any better off if they get rid of Plummer, they had some stat that since he joined the Broncos they have won 3 out of every 4 games. I know they don't always win because of him but I mean do you really think somebody is gonna step in and have a better ratio then that?

D Mac 11-20-2006 03:54 PM

WOOOO What a fucking great game I went to yesterday. INT in endzone to win and the KC crowd went nuts. We all did the tomahawk chop going back to the parking lot. KC fans are the best ever FTW.

Did you watch the AFC Championship Game last year? Winning 3 of out 4 games in the regular season means jack shit if you're going to choke in big games.

Well, if Brees didn't throw the two picks in the endzone, the pick that the Bengals scored on, and the XP didn't get blocked that would've made the score 31-24 Saints. So I would have to say turnovers.

Savio 11-20-2006 05:48 PM

LOL at the saints losing. They fucking suck.

Eli Manning is just not that good

No really with the rams but the jags are doing ok. Don't remind me of last week though.

Mr. Monday Morning 11-21-2006 02:49 PM

I believe something happened to Jacksonville last week

Joey Slugs 11-21-2006 04:01 PM

I want to believe that the Bears are going 3-0 on this road trip...

But the Pats looked pissed off against the Pack on sunday.

Triple A 11-21-2006 05:26 PM

I dunno I think the Jags are just ridiculously good at home for some reason. I thikn they are like 5-1 at home, 1-3 on the road or something. They destroyed the Jets 41-0 before and now fucked up the Giants.

Giants def should have run the ball more though. It is kinda retarded. Eli was doing terrible but they only ran the ball like 10 times all game despite it being pretty close throughout.

Joey Slugs 11-21-2006 06:39 PM

Haven't the Jags been like one of toughest home teams since they came into the league?

I think thats a fair assumption at this point in part, but if you really wanna know whats wrong with the Giants you have to have watched them all season.

The playcalling on both sides of the ball is terrible, any fan would be able to notice that. The coaching is just absent when it needs to be there the most.

I'm certainly not defending Eli in any repsect because he has played horrible, but he isn't getting much help. The poor throws, staring down receivers, lack of leadership on his part are all his responsibility, but if you were a Giants fan you'd realize what was going on here in NY.

Too many times players have ripped the coaching and it is clearly evident that something needs to change. Tiki Barber ripped the coaching on his radio show today again.

Gonzo 11-21-2006 09:30 PM

For example:

Eli is playing terrible, so with 7:26 left in the third we go into a shotgun offense but to no avail. Lets pass more with your QB having one of his worst games ever?

We have one of the premier backs in the NFL and he ran only about 10 times for 27 yards? That is what I'm getting at with the playcalling, it fucking sucks.

AlphaBean 11-21-2006 09:44 PM

Yeah, run your 180 pound back at John Henderson and Marcus Stroud some more, that sounds like a good idea.

He's retiring anyway, so you might as well use him to his fullest.

AlphaBean 11-21-2006 11:08 PM

Touche.

Not to be "that guy" but I've seen a lot of Giants games because they are always shown here (I think its because most old dudes in this area are Giants fans since the Patriots have only been around for only a little over 40 years) and I've just really not been that impressed with him. I think if his last name was something other than Manning he would have another QB in New York breathing down his neck waiting to get his job. Obviously they got some issues but they still have Burress, Shockey (bit overrated but still a real good recieving TE) and Barber on offense, so he shouldn't look like a scared 14 year old when he's out there.

Kris P Lettus 11-22-2006 02:35 AM

Being hated on means one is doing something right..

Keep hating..

RP 11-22-2006 02:39 AM

Everytime i've watched Burress, i've thought to myself " That guy is probably the most underrated WR in the league".

Wait...

So are you trying to tell me Duane Starks is a pretty good CB?

Chris Simms, he's a tough guy?

Mike Tice, not as bad of a coach as people thought he was?

And Aaron Brooks... are you serious?
