Really should have opened with this trailer, it shows off the galactic nature of GL much better.

It's definitely a better trailer, but I'm still not totally convinced. I'll withhold my judgments until I actually see the thing, but something about it is just screaming "Razzie Award" at me.

Kalyx triaD 05-23-2011 01:50 AM

The show may be canceled but here's a shot of Wonder Woman in her star-spangled bottom:

Still miffed we may never see the pilot.

Lock Jaw 05-23-2011 02:01 AM

And a creepy looking bald dude

Kalyx triaD 05-23-2011 02:26 AM

Yeah, almost a photo bomb.

LuigiD 05-23-2011 10:28 AM

That looks like an athletic, non-fucked up version of Droford.

parkmania 05-23-2011 02:39 PM

And once more, for the record:

NBC passed up this:

in favor of this:

NBC's been aimless post Fresh Prince and Friends.

The Office? 30 Rock? Parks and Rec?

Wait, not Parks and Rec...

Kalyx triaD 05-24-2011 10:53 AM

I was half kidding.

The LA Times has announced that both Geoff Johns and Jim Lee will be appearing at its “Hero Complex Film Festival” on June 11th to drop “bombshell announcements about the future of Superman and the entire DC Universe.”
Interesting. Could be to do with movies, or could have to do with what is going to happen after Flashpoint is over in the comics.

Kalyx triaD 05-24-2011 04:43 PM

Don't think it had to do with movies... Perhaps some new media venture.

Fignuts 05-29-2011 02:38 AM

Loving Secret Six. Gail Simone is quickly becoming one of my favorite writers.

Fignuts 05-29-2011 02:46 AM

Oh, and I didn't like brightest day. Just felt like the story had no flow. Just a bunch of stuff jumbled together. Also, there were no resolutions to almost anything. It was almost like "Okay now start buying all these other books to find out how these stories end."

I don't mind a new story beginning in the epilogue, like the white lantern showing up at the end of blackest night, but when it leaves several loose ends, that will be tied up in multiple books, that is just a marketing ploy.

Fignuts 05-29-2011 03:49 PM

There sure are a lot of white haired bitches in the DCU. Not talking about old people mind you, but young women who inexplicably have white hair.

Kalyx triaD 05-29-2011 04:49 PM

I haven't noticed.

Lock Jaw 05-29-2011 11:31 PM

I can think of two.

And yeah, Secret Six is fantastic.

Brightest Day may have been meh, but Justice League: Generation Lost was enjoyable. Though again, there is some stuff in that series that seemed to go nowhere.

Fignuts 05-29-2011 11:52 PM

Oh shit, forgot I downloaded that. Gotta start reading it.

The pilot may or may not be floating around now. I think they may give it the Aqua Man treatment and make it available as a standalone.

Hmm...

Fignuts 05-31-2011 07:20 PM

This is why I prefer Marvel.

Lock Jaw 05-31-2011 08:10 PM

I'm sorry, but that is just a terrible idea. NOT doing stuff like that is why I preferred DC.

Lock Jaw 05-31-2011 08:12 PM

Seriously "upset" right now. Like nothing I have ever read matters anymore. I can only hope and pray that this is going to be a temporary thing like how Marvel did after Onslaught and that things will return to "normal" soon.

Terrible, just terrible.

Lock Jaw 05-31-2011 08:24 PM

http://www.comicbookresources.com/as...1306875474.jpg

Terrible.

DON'T MESS WITH SUPERMAN'S COSTUME.

Kalyx triaD 05-31-2011 09:55 PM

I like Clark's duds, happy to see the underwear gone. Not fond of replacing Diana's gold with silver. Aqua Man and Hal look like always. I HOPE they don't screw with Batman's INC suit. All this talk about new era this and that only for them to change the costume anyway. In fact this voids a lot of recent stuff...

Interesting in a Geoff/Lee JL run, though.

dronepool 05-31-2011 11:18 PM

Like I said-

If it's written by Grant Morrison, I'll give it a shot.... everything else... unless something changes in my head, I don't really care... I'll just get what catches my eye either in singles or trade (I could wait as long as my life a bit more active and I continue my streak in trying not to be so recluse) and I will be a lot more strict if I decide to subscribe to a book because I need get less comics and not more.

I think it'll make people even more selective because they know in a few years that book won't mean shit..... which is why i stopped bagging 98% of my comics about a year ago. i'd get shit by grant Morrison, but i can honestly just wait for the trades cause i like hardcovers/sofcovers better than single issues and as long as i'm not mad bored during that time, i can wait... i'll see.

Lock Jaw 05-31-2011 11:36 PM

Grant Morrison is apparently to write one of the new Superman series.

Nowhere Man 05-31-2011 11:36 PM

This is almost guaranteed to go over like a fart in church. It just reeks of gimmicky bullshit.

Also, I hate how so many redesigns of Superman's costume have a high collar like that. How's that supposed to hide under Clark's regular clothes? I mean, he's already got enough logistical problems with the cape and the boots, he doesn't need that extra bit popping up over the top of his work clothes.

Actually, looking at that picture, is everyone going to have to have that V-neck high collar? I mean, you gave Wonder Woman a necklace, just so she can have that V-neck collar look going on. Fucking stop it!

Kalyx triaD 05-31-2011 11:40 PM

Positive as usual, Nowhere.

Lock Jaw 05-31-2011 11:54 PM

Well, it is tough to be positive in a very very negative situation.

Nowhere Man 05-31-2011 11:55 PM

Oh, and while I'm on the subject of bitching about the costume re-designs, didn't they just change Wonder Woman's costume back to the original look because everyone hated Lee's redesign? And now for the reboot he's changing it right back, out of spite I can only assume.

McLegend 06-01-2011 12:10 AM

You don't fuck with Superman's costume.

Lock Jaw 06-01-2011 12:22 AM

If they're going to reboot it, they should at least be doing it after an epic Crisis on Infinite Earths-like story.

Not an alternate reality story that is inevitable a story about The Flash.

What DC has way more retconing and continuity issues than Marvel.

Lock Jaw 06-01-2011 01:03 AM

Nah.

Fignuts 06-01-2011 01:11 AM

Hawkman

is what I have to say about that.

Boondock Saint 06-01-2011 01:37 AM

lol Johns/Lee book...we'll get an issue every 6 months

The Destroyer 06-01-2011 03:09 AM

I think it'll be quite interesting to see what they do and don't keep post-reboot, but this still seems like a pretty awful idea.

If they want to jettison continuity baggage, they should have just stuck with something like the All Star range instead of just doing it right across the board.

Lock Jaw 06-01-2011 01:01 PM

What I want to know is how much are they resetting things?

I mean, there's a whooooole whack load of characters who pretty much depend on the current history being intact.

Kalyx triaD 06-01-2011 01:16 PM

If there's anything I learned about comic book mythologies, especially DC comics, is to never get used to anything. It was only a matter of time before they went this route. It just seems abrupt and desperate and disrespectful to recent projects aimed to shake things up.

Marvel sticks to their guns. Most retcons are under the hood and barely noticeable. Other things, like Bucky Cap, dead Uncle Ben, dead-ish Jean Grey, Wolverine's origin, faction changes, status changes, power changes; Marvel has a much better track record than DC sticking to their guns.

Lock Jaw 06-01-2011 01:21 PM

Flash can't get the V-neck high collar, so he gets a chin patch.

Also, ROFL at Hal Jordan's WANG CANNON. Real subtle.
