Last House On The Left (2009) - 2/10. The ending is quite hilarious. "Ahhh...ahhh....AHHH PSHHHHOMGWTFSHHHHH " Should I review the movie to prepare for my radio reviews?
|
Caddyshack - 8.4/10 - Hate to say I was kind of underwhelmed by it, but every scene in it has been done like 500000000000000000000000 times since. Probably the funniest movie of its time, but...I dunno.
|
hot tub time machine - 6/10
Everyone I talked to said it was hilarious and honestly it was just ok for me. Had tons of laughs but it did just seem like a poor mans Hangover. |
Up-10/10 :(
|
The Princess and the Frog - 8/10
lol it was done well Hot Tub Time Machine - 8/10 I thought it was pretty hilarious |
Theres Something About Mary - 3/10. I turned it off more than halfway through.

legion 4/10
|
Macgruber - 70
Get Him to the Greek - 76 The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe - 75 The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian - 75 There Will Be Blood - 80 A Scanner Darkly - 89 |
wait...you saw Macgruber?
|
A Serious Man - 7/10 - I didn't like the ending..
SPOILER: show I also had no idea what the first 5 minutes was about. I thought for half a second I had the wrong disc or something. Sherlock Holmes -2/10 I fell asleep not once, not twice, not even 3 times...but FOUR TIMES trying to watch this piece of crap. UGH |
They say in the behind the scenes footage that the first five minutes isn't related to the movie. I forget what they called it, but they said they basically created a fable to introduce the story. There are some ties to the film via the themes of death and Judaism, but other than that it doesn't have anything to do with the movie.

The Karate Kid: 3/10
Just terrible. All of the child actors spewed out their lines like manufactured dolls; Jaden Smith included. The soundtrack continually tried to force the contrived emotional scenes down the audience's throat while set-pieces of drama played out featuring characters without pulses. Despite millions of dollars in budget, this movie could not buy a single ounce of genuine emotion for any of its lead characters. The most entertaining thing about the entire film were the overly choreographer fight sequences, but even a fight sequence falls dead at the end when you just don't give a shit about any of the characters. Macchio was/is no great actor, but he played the Daniel LaRusso character perfectly. While Jackie Chan is atleast trying here, Jaden Smith has nothing to go on, and so the movie, story and emotion go nowhere as well. Terrible. |
Fox, I expect an equally passionate review for Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief
|
And I shall deliver, sir.
|
Killers - 6.5/10
"An adequate way to spend 2 hours" is the statement I use when I don't like a film but don't hate it. That's what this film got. Heigl was hot though. |
The 41 Year Old Virgin Who Knocked Up Sarah Marshall And Felt Superbad About It- 3/10
Napoleon Dynamite- 1/10 :shifty: I Love You Philip Morris- 7/10 |
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - 5/5
|

Possibly the most love/hate movie of alltime
|
THE SLAMMIN' SALMON
4/5 Solid movie that got me laughing frequently. My only complaint is that the plot wasn't as twisty as most other Broken Lizard (Super Troopers, Beerfest) plots. Still just as good otherwise and worth the watch. |
The Road - 3/5
|
Probably alone in this assessment, but I saw Karate Kid yesterday and in all honesty have to give it a 9.5/10.
Seriously one of the best films I've seen this summer. While the starting foundation did seem a bit forced, once it was laid in place the rest of the movie flowed perfectly, the two and a half hours just zoomed by. Unlike it's predecessor (which I admit I haven't seen for the better part of a decade) this movie had a lot more substance going for it. I believe the fight scenes were spot on when taking into consideration the amount of time the actors put in towards training for them, Jaden included. As always Jackie was his usual self, mixing humor with the action, which is far from a bad thing. The only reason this movie doesn't score a perfect 10 for me is because of the title... There was no Karate anywhere in the film, would it have killed the producers to just call it the "Kung Fu Kid"? Would have made a lot more sense. Also, the actor playing Lu Wing had the most baddest hairstyle I've ever seen on a child, and he played off of it at such an awesome degree. |
i thought el tigre was my nuts and read that entire post anticipating "nuts in yr. mouth"

now for a movie thats actually hilarious: Naked Gun - 9.5/10 |
The Rocker (the one with Rainn Wilson) 80/100.
Night at the Museum 2: 60/100. Smash His Camera: 100/100. |
The Room 1/10
ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I seen tits for about 45 secs, which is about the only reason it even got a 1/10. |
Mars Attacks!
10 out of 10 Love cheeky movies like this. Love Tim Burton. LOVE the huge cast. |
Iron Man 2 - 9/10
|

Knight and Day - 10/10 Five words: Mother effing nonstop thrill ride Cyrus - 9/10 This was really great. "Huge fan" of the writer/director team (Duplass Bros), <3 their style, and John C. Reilly was incredible, "as was" Jonah Hill. Shadows and Fog - 3/10 This is I think the worst Woody Allen movie I have ever seen. Seems like he "wasn't even trying" or something in regards to the story. |

Comes out tomorrow, baby.
|
Mystic River - 6/10
Dunno if it I had high expectations for this given how well received it was but I didn't enjoy this half as much as I wanted to. Guessed killer with a long way to go. |
The Box 7/10
|
Full Metal Jacket 4/5
|
White Coats 2/5
It was a Scrubs rip off. I thought it was going to be at least a little funny, but no. Not at all. |
youth in revolt - 5/10
very disappointing but held together enough for an average score. Basically the same score I would give Year One...another dud with enough "oomph" to not make me walk out. |
Beverly Hills Cop - 7/10.
Panic Room - 7/10. |
FRESH - 5/10
|
Book of Eli - 8/10
I would go as far as to say that it had the best swerve ending reveal since "Bruce Willis is Dead!?!" in the Sixth Sense. Totally didn't see it coming. |
Shutter Island 3.5/5
Despite it not being Martin Scorsese genre I thought it was rather entertaining even though I knew and I'm sure many of you knew how it would end. Was never a big fan of his but I though it was some of Dicaprio's best acting to date he even looked the part which helped immensly. There's one horrific scene towards the conclusion of the film that I felt was dragged out and didn't need to be it could have been done more implied like the other flashbacks. |
Serenity - 10/10
Awesome movie. Shit got WAY intense, and as I had just watched Firefly it was all still fresh for me. Quite sad, and an incredible sci-fi flick. |

It was too much like "the Wrestler"..If he had gone on stage and died at the end I would have gone nuts. |
Hot Tub Time Machine - 6/10

Philadelphia - 4/5
|
Hellboy II: The Golden Army - 6.5/10
Servicable sequel. |

Also:
From Paris With Love - 6/10 - Fun enough, John Travolta is a lot of fun but gets a bit gay at the end. Would have been an improvement with a better actor than Jonathan Rhys Meyers too. Taking of Pelham 123 (remake) - 5/10 - Meh. Only reason I gave it a 5 is because of the decent cast with decent enough performances. Pretty bad otherwise. MacGruber - 6/10 - I thought it'd be a 'all the jokes are in the trailers' type schtick but that wasn't entirely the case. Not bad if you leave your brain at the door. |
Toy Story 3 - 5/5
|
Toy Story 3
8/10 The original will probably never be topped but as far as sequels go it doesn't get much better. Way better than part 2. Very strong plot with very intense moments of drama and a few good laughs. |
The Crazies 8/10
not what i expected at all. really good film that took me to places i didn't expect. |
She's Out of My League - 7/10
|
21-6/10=1.5
|
20 2/5*
|
Death at a Funeral (2010 Remake) - 8/10
|
Alice In Wonderland - 4/5
Tim Burton are usually hit or miss and i'd have to say visually this is one of his best. |

Book of Eli 4/10 Wasn't big fan of this movie. Never really hooked me in like I had hoped. Some fun parts for sure, but overall kind of a dud for me.
Toy Story 3 9/10 Really enjoyed this movie. Though I think it may be my least favorite Toy Story. I plan to rewatch all 3 and get a better idea for them all. Think 2 is my favorite as thought it was the most character based, as opposed to 1 which seemed more action oriented. Toy Story 3 certainly tapped into your emotions at the end, but seemed like it went for jokes more than characters at times. But still loved it, kept my attention entire time. Twilight 6.5/10 For some reason decided to watch this. Check it out, see if it is really as bad/gay as people made it out to be. It managed to keep my attention during the movie. Not the best movie, but I found it entertaining. Watching the second one now. Think it got a bad rap though. People saw the trailers and decided to make fun of it. All the jokes/people who hate it never saw it most likely. |
Twilight New Moon 4/10 Watched this just now, just watched Twilight 1 first time before this today. Didn't think this movie was anywhere as good as the previous one. First one I thought was average fun film, nothing special nothing terrible. This one was just too slow, never really getting much of anywhere. Was waiting for something interesting to happen throughout the movie. Was just a giant set up for 3rd movie I guess, should be action packed. Guess this is the movie where everyone picked side of Team Jacob or Edward. Jacob is a douche, find werewolves less interesting then vampires to begin with though. Hated his long haircut. Team Edward all day.
|
I'd like to applaud PapaGeorgio for coming out of the closet in this thread
|
Haha whatever. Felt like had to watch it to find out the truth, like a journalist. I also enjoy watching things that get a bad rap at times. Enjoy the journey of watching them. Same with some videogames. It could get bad reviews, for example TMNT, but something draws me to play it. I realize it's not a great game, but keep playing as I find it entertaining and humorous. Though did enjoy the first Twilight, second was pretty weak. Watch it for yourself and judge "dawg"

Alice in Wonderland - 6/10
Fan of Burton/Depp combo but I think maybe he tried to do a bit too much with the story. An extra point for awesome visual effects and music but in the end it was really just average.. |

She's Out Of My League - 70
|
Toy Story 3 - 10/10
Office Space - 8.7/10 |
Karate Kid - 3/10.
I get to review this movie on the radio today. Oh boy! Did it seem like Jackie Chan was half asleep during this whole thing? It seems like he didn't give a shit about the movie and wasn't even trying. Who could blame him? |
The Wolfman - 3/5
Has a few good scares in it and the whole mood and atmosphere was setup very good. Unfortunately the big twist is pratically given away in the trailers and Del Toro acting in this was rather lackluster. The tranformation sequences were great as well but the end result minus the creatures claws almost seems a bit too retro. |
Saw VI - 3/10
Don't really know what to say on this. I persevere with this franchise as I want to see how it ends, sadly I think this installment is testament to the fact that it may never end. In my opinion they should have called it day here and wrapped up any loose ends but I hear they are to make another one...in 3D no less. |
Mary & Max - 100 omg
|
Alice in Wonderland 6.5/10
Wasn't really feeling it, and I like Tim Burton. Depp's Mad Hatter sounded like Captain Jack Sparrow at times. |
Toy Story 3 - 85
|
Toy Story 3 - 10/10
|
Shrek 4 - 7.5/10
Watched this on a dodgy DVD last night. Pretty decent sequel, seemed to slack in the middle but ended well. Got me in the mood for Toy Story 3 (after the missus gets around to watching the first two - can't believe she's never seen them!) |
Toy Story 3- 10/10.
Everything I expected and more. End of story |
The Road 8/10
Depressing though I think Vigo was awesome and the kid (whatever his name is) has a future in hollywood as well. |
Godzilla: Final Wars - 4/5
Day of the Dead (remake) - 4/5 Been a good movie night. |
Transformers - 7/10.
Pretty good. Theres this scene where Shia LaBOOF and Megan Fox are in the car and LaBOOF is like "Why dont you sit in my lap? Only one seatbelt. Safety first." I must have watched that scene about 50 times. It's a very good scene with a somber guitar riff. |
Bart Got a Room - 8/10 - Comedy about a kid trying to find a date for the prom and avoid going with his best friend (who is Alia Shawkat). William H. Macy and Cheryl Hines are also in this.
|
Sin City 7.5/10. I'm willing to go 8.
I didn't like it as much as I thought I would. |
Heat
8/10 |
Alice In Wonderland (2010) - 7/10
|
Shutter Island - 10/10 - Oh. My. Fucking. God.
|
tron 7/10
|
Hot Tub Time Machine - 6/10
|
Toy Story 3 - 9/10
Incredible |
if it was so incredible why isn't it a perfect 10? What is your reasoning for the point loss?
|
That's the way I rank. There are probably like a dozen movies I'd give a 10. 9 can still be an absolute classic in my mind
