Yeah why don't you all stop fawning over all these foreigners and support your local wrestlers.

Robbie Brookside 4 Life

CSL 04-04-2015 01:54 PM

Robbie Brookside works for WWE, probably confusing every American that attempts to talk to him on a daily basis

CSL 04-04-2015 01:55 PM

very much enjoying the idea of him calling Triple H "la"

Jordan 04-04-2015 02:01 PM

I know I left off Ziggler, he would be good against anyone.

GFW to start producing actual shows this summer.

Quote:

Nashville, Tenn. – The glitz and glamour of Sin City will meet the hard-charging, high energy of professional wrestling when Global Force Wrestling brings its brand to Las Vegas for the first taping of its broadcast event shows on Friday, July 24 at the Orleans Arena.

The gaming and “Entertainment Capital of the World” has been the site for some of the biggest boxing and MMA fights in history. Now, Las Vegas has another major sporting event to add to that list.

“This time, what happens in Vegas will not stay in Vegas,” said Jeff Jarrett, GFW founder and CEO. “Global Force Wrestling is looking forward to bringing the freshest brand of professional wrestling to fans from all over the world; and, it all starts right here in the fight capital of the world.”

GFW’s first three shows at the Orleans Arena will take place on Friday, July 24; Friday, August 21 and Friday, October 23. GFW has alliances with 13 affiliates on five continents, including New Japan Pro-Wrestling, Mexico’s AAA and federations in Europe, Australia and Africa.

We keep hearing about his partnerships in Europe, Africa and Australia. But I've never heard of any companies that are putting out great product from any of those places. I'm very skeptical about this promotion right now, feeling like he has taken to long to get the ball rolling. I just don't see what he can offer that would be incredibly different and better than what we have right now. I don't see a "needed niche" that we are lacking right now in pro wrestling.

Simple Fan 04-04-2015 06:55 PM

Nice to see GFW has announced some shows. Hopefully some talent will be named soon, or is he just going to barrow talent from all the other promotions?

Jordan 04-04-2015 07:04 PM

I'm not sure. But since he has relationships with NJPW and AAA I'd assume you could get some guys there. But I don't know who at NJPW will be available because I believe that date is during the G-1 Climax so I doubt there will be any NJPW guys available including obviously, AJ Styles. Also AAA is wrapped up in Lucha Underground and I don't seem them being as interested in working with another promotion looking to make a splash in the states.

Damian Rey 04-04-2015 07:16 PM

Lucha Underground kind of pulled the rug out from under Jarrett. It's a stark contrast to both TNA and WWE and features a decent mix of talent.

Simple Fan 04-04-2015 07:16 PM

Never heard anything after he did they talent search up in Canada. I imagine Jeff has a few people lined up since he has announced some shows. With Jeff a member of the Bullet Club I'd imagine they would be involved in some sort.

Except that the Bullet Club's main members will be booked in the G-1 and won't be doing anything else during that tournament. I don't know what he has planned. AJ is happy in Japan, I don't see any reason why he'd give that up to join a start up under Jarrett again.

I can't think of anyone who is a "free agent" who would be a draw for Global.

Simple Fan 04-04-2015 07:27 PM

I thought when he started signing agreements with all these different promotions that he was trying to get a NWA type of allianed promotions deal or something.

Emperor Smeat 04-04-2015 07:41 PM

Outside of some scouting and maybe AAA, think GFW has mostly "Wrestle Kingdom" type deals where they act as the official provider for all the associated companies they have. Doubt they have the money needed for traveling costs for actual wrestler swaps to occur any time soon.

Bulk of the GFW roster is likely going to be whoever they can grab from the indies and any free agents avaliable. As well as anyone stopping by for a bit like AJ Style and Samoa Joe with ROH. NJPW probably starts to lend wrestler support once GFW is stable enough to be an actual wrestling company.

Jordan 04-04-2015 07:56 PM

Are there any name guys out there that are not signed to an exclusive deal? I can't think of any

Simple Fan 04-04-2015 09:21 PM

The Dudlys are probably the biggest names out there right now that I can think of.

I cried when Sting lost.

To Vader.

I was 8.

It was a very effective story.

GD 04-05-2015 05:39 AM

I got very emotional when Brock lost to Triple H at Mania 29. Shit was hard.

Rammsteinmad 04-05-2015 06:14 AM

But are either of you wrestling historians? That's a very serious profession and one not to be mocked.

That was the day serious business was born.

For a girl who plays an evil Russian on television, she seems to love America more than most Americans...
