Alberto Del Rio playing the face.

I think he could pull it off. They should do it since his heel act is pretty much run dry.

I could totally see Alberto Del Rio turning face to protect his brother. He'd be like the Miguel Prado to Memo's Oscar.

Bunch of news from around the web

Quote:

As previously reported, WWE changed its plans for the main event of Survivor Series by putting CM Punk, Ryback and John Cena in a triple threat for the WWE Title in part because there was concern that the Survivor Series-style match that was originally planned would draw low PPV buyrate numbers. However, it turns out that this isn't the only reason, as Vince McMahon was reportedly impressed by the buyrate for Hell in a Cell.

McMahon is said to have credited Ryback for the numbers, which were said to be "surprisingly strong" particularly in regard to DirecTV, and wanted to capitalize on the new main eventer's momentum. It was believed that he would not benefit as much from the ten-man match as he would form a triple threat, which resulted in the new match being made.
Quote:

Both Damien Sandow and Cody Rhodes have been getting a lot of support backstage, and Vince McMahon is a supporter of both guys. Word is that McMahon has been highly impressed with Sandow in particular. There have been talks about ending the Rhodes Scholars team in he next few months, and the feeling is that Sandow could head to the main event picture if that happens.

Quote:

It was announced during the recent WWE conference call that the WWE Network would be a premium subscription channel, similar to HBO or Showtime. According to television industry sources as well as those in WWE, the expected price for the channel is $10 a month.
Quote:

Brad Maddox is said to be Triple H's latest project. Word is that he was not seen as having major potential in WWE developmental, but the thought is that he will somehow defeat Ryback on Raw Monday to earn his "million dollar contract."

They can't do that or they'd get thousands of art works, scripts, story line ideas a day.

Heath Slater seemed like more of a player against R-Truth on Main Event this week. I really like the Smash Hit as a finisher.

Up to Feb 2004. Not sure why people don't involve themselves in contract signings to get into title matches. Just knock out the challenger and then sign it. It's allegedly legally binding ala HBK.

The Impaler DDT.

Heath Slater has gone through so many finishing moves since he's been in the WWE. He started off with Sweetness (similar to the Zig Zag), and then introduced a new version of Sweetness (R-Truth's Little Jimmy). The E-Minor was Slater's Reverse DDT, but was also the name given to his Snapmare Driver. He used a sort of Waffle Face-type facebuster for a match, too, before going to the E-Minor Snare-Mare, with the Overdrive also filling in for a few weeks.

Edge's post-neck surgery photo. Been asking several doctors for their advice if its possible for him to ever return in a wrestling role and they all said no and not to even try it.

#1-norm-fan 11-10-2012 04:07 PM

It sucks. I think Edge was pretty well-rounded as a performer. But outside being a wrestler, I can't think of any good on-screen roles for him. Maybe a GM role of some sort? He doesn't seem like he'd make a good manager for some reason.

Sources say WWE is set to repackage Brodus Clay as a monster heel.

The plan at this time is to re-introduce him as 'Tugboat' and play him off as the son of WWE Legend, Fred Ottoman. They were considering calling him 'Tugboat Jr' but Vince is said to be high on the idea of just calling him 'Tugboat' and having the announcers put over he is the son of the original.

No word on the future plans of Cameron and Naomi, though there is talk of Naomi being put with Sheamus as his manager and nick-naming her "Black Irish".

Mr. Nerfect 11-10-2012 05:53 PM

I could totally see Edge as a General Manager, Guest Host or even guest commentator on Main Event one week.

Xero 11-10-2012 05:53 PM

Really? Of all the gimmicks to resurrect?

Mr. Nerfect 11-10-2012 05:53 PM

Oh, and as long as he stays on good terms with the WWE, he'll be in every WWE video game from now until the end of time, and he'll probably get to appear in backstage segments at WrestleMania and the like.

Mr. Nerfect 11-10-2012 05:54 PM

I could totally see Team Edge vs. Team Christian at WrestleMania one year, too, with Edge and Christian both taking on supervisory roles for their respective units. They could even make it a TLC Match, or something of the like.

The Snapmare driver is his obvious best finisher. They should just give it a better name. Whammy Bar?

Everybody and their mothers have used the Overdrive.

Surprising we're even talking about the finisherS of a guy who was no more than a jobber like 3 months ago.
