I'm thinking that R-Truth, Rey Mysterio, Sin Cara, Justin Gabriel & Tyson Kidd will team up to face Antonio Cesaro, The Prime Time Players, Tensai and some other heel. Maybe they'll give Johnny Curtis and his new gimmick a PPV spot to try and get him over out the gate?

The new reports say that WWE is looking at New Orleans and the Superdome to host WrestleMania 30 in 2014. While nothing is official at this time, negotiations are said to be going smoothly and that both sides are in the final stages in regards to signing a deal.

New Orleans?

That seems pretty random a place for such a big milestone. I also thought WrestleMania XXX would be held in Madison Square Garden seeing as I, X and XX were all held there, but obviously, with WrestleMania 29 being held in the NY/NJ area, that really isn't going to happen.

Cool King 11-07-2012 03:52 PM

I've just had a look at the inside of the Superdome and it's pretty damn big. I can see why Vince would want WrestleMania XXX to be held inside it.

Looks like I'm going to New Orleans, I guess.

There were talks about it probably being in Dallas if the WWE was in the region just because of the new Cowboy stadium can shatter Mania's Wrestlemania record easily.

So if they wanted it to be live in the US, it would start at Midnight in the UK right?

So it's either that or air it on tape delay in the US.

I really can't see either of those things happening.

I still don't see how the tape delay is going to hurt the buys for Mania..... the people who are going to illegally stream it are still going to stream it and the people who will order on PPV will still order it knowing the results or not.....tape it Saturday at 8pm in London, then air it at the regular 8pm PPV slot on Sunday.....

Just have it start at 9pm in London, which would be 4pm/1pm here

#1-norm-fan 11-07-2012 06:56 PM

There's no way you take any sporting/entertainment event and show it on tape delay and don't have people's interest in watching it suffer. Especially in the internet age.

SlickyTrickyDamon 11-07-2012 06:56 PM

Didn't tape delay kill the buys of SummerSlam 1992?

They should do another 3 arena show like wm 2 for wm xxx and have one of them be msg

#1-norm-fan 11-07-2012 06:58 PM

I'm not sure. If it did though, that really says something since it was before people could just jump online and read the results.

I feel like the ubiquity of spoilers on the internet was no where near the same in 1992 as it is now so it would be roughly eleven million times worse.

Remember when Randy Orton first turned face after Evolution, and he did that "continually concussed in every match" thing?

Yeah. Dunno why I am thinking of that right now.

Every match would involve him getting hit in the head, the camera zooming into his eyes, with JR yelling "ORTON WITH THAT FARAWAY LOOK IN HIS EYES!! HE MAY BE CONCUSSED!!"

Mr. Nerfect 11-07-2012 11:41 PM

I hope that we get Fandango pushed to the moon. He could be like a heel Brodus Clay, only a more flexible worker.

GD 11-07-2012 11:49 PM

"Ladies and Gentlemen! We have witnessed history at Wrestlemania XXIX, Fandango is the new WWE Champion and World's Heavyweight Champion. The complexity of the WWE has changed forever. For my money, this has been the best Wrestlemania ever! " - Jim Ross.

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/yNXVthH1Ums" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Mr. Nerfect 11-08-2012 12:03 AM

The WWE could totally do that. Fandango hits on Vickie Guerrero backstage with his moves, and Dolph Ziggler takes exception. Fandango beats him in a shocking upset. The next week it's announced that Fandango has put pressure on the Board of Directors to give him a shot at Ziggler's MITB title shot, because he never got his opportunity at the Tag Team Titles for winning NXT Season 4. Fandango wins the briefcase and dances to celebrate.

Fandango gets a middle-of-the-pack number in the Royal Rumble Match, and he manages to dance several people out of the ring. He then dances out of the ring and to the back, leaving everyone surprised. The match goes on and we get to John Cena vs. Ryback vs. Dolph Ziggler, or something. Cena and Ziggler work together to take out the bigger Ryback, and then it's between them, when suddenly, through the crowd, Fandango appears and dumps both guys over the top rope to the floor. Fandango has pulled off the biggest upset in Royal Rumble history!

On RAW, Fandango comes out and announces that he will be challenging The Rock for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania. The Rock makes fun of Fandango's dancing, but Fandango keeps his cool and tells The Rock that he's going to enjoy dancing over The Rock's fallen body at WrestleMania. For the weeks leading up to WrestleMania, Fandango appears in some scathing parodies of The Rock's movie work, while continuing to beat people and dance in post-match celebrations.

Elimination Chamber rolls around, and Fandango has to defend his WrestleMania title shot (under orders of Vince McMahon, who doesn't take Fandango seriously) against Cena, Ziggler and Ryback in a Fatal 4-Way Elimination Match. Ryback is eliminated first when everyone teams up to get rid of him, but it is Fandango who scores the actual pin. Ziggler is then pinned by John Cena, and a pissed off Ziggler then distracts Cena allowing Fandango to win the match and retain his Mania title shot.

Later in the night, the World Heavyweight Championship Elimination Chamber takes place, and Fandango cashes in his title shot against the winner of the match (let's say Big Show) and he becomes the new World Heavyweight Champion. Thus, The Rock vs. Fandango at WrestleMania XXIX is now for both the WWE Title and World Heavyweight Title.

Mr. Nerfect 11-08-2012 12:06 AM

The WWE could do a King of the Ring thing to introduce Curtis' new gimmick and lend it mid-card credibility first, however. He wins the one-night tournament on RAW and is then announced as King Fandango.

WWE hasn’t done a worldwide PPV from the U.K. since SummerSlam in 1992,which when it did a disappointing buy rate, it was blamed on it not airing live and the results being out. I can assure you that had almost nothing to do with it because the number of people who knew results ahead of time or knew it was taped was minuscule. Today, the situation would be different.

They haven’t done a PPV for the U.K. market only since 2002.

They’ve also had meetings with a stadium in London and Old Trafford, a soccer stadium in Manchester, that holds 75,000.

Not bad.

If the WWE are really thinking of bringing back UK exclusive PPV's, then I might very well decide to go to one of them first, before heading off all the way to a WrestleMania.

Drew even pointed them out to the crowd during his promo and the spotlight that went on them, I was just outside of it, and now just knowing that the woman that was sitting close to me, is now dead is giving me a weird feeling. :-\

not a fair assessment..... WAY more non-fans watch the SB just for the half-time show and couldn't give 2 fucks about the game..... if the SB were on PPV, the majority of these viewers would not pay the $50 for the game just for half-time.....I don't see too many single housewives shelling out $50 for Mania when they have no interest in wrestling..... hardcore fans will watch no matter what.....that's just my view.....

#1-norm-fan 11-08-2012 09:39 PM

Sure it's a fair assessment. I simply asked if you think it would be as big of a deal. It would surely affect interest if the Super Bowl was taped in advance and spoilers were available beforehand and you knew you weren't gonna get to experience it live as it happened. If people who aren't interested in football are gonna watch it anyway, so what? That's one small portion. You're right that WWE doesn't have that demographic. So what's it matter? It would definitely put a dent in interest for the majority of the people who would normally want to watch in either situation.

Speaking of "half-time"..I think it would be a good idea to start a half-time show for WrestleMania. Over the past few years, there have been some main event matches that haven't gotten good crowd reactions due to bad card placement, or the crowd just being drained.

For instance, let's say WM 29 has 9 total matches for a 4 hour program. Split the show up with 5 matches first, with an ideal opener, and a true main event (EX: Taker vs. Lesnar)

After Taker vs. Lesnar, give the crowd a breather, put on your musical performances, backstage fallout/reactions from the wrestlers, hype up the rest of the card, etc.

Then put on another sick pyro opening, and get the show started again and continue with the 4 remaining matches. Could really put a breath of fresh air into the show by splitting it into two acts.

Maybe if they had way better taste in choosing musical guests. Although they do usually are ahead of the curb on generic themes. Whatever song is on WrestleMania is usually used for sports playoffs later in the year.

I was figuring part of vinces deal with the rolling stones was they'd show up at wm, but I think about it more and they don't fit wwe's demo

They should try to get The Boss. Although I figured they will be getting Angels & Airwaves since that's who is doing the current WrestleMania promo theme song. I'm ok with that.

The best part of that attitude blu-ray set would be the lack of blurring hopefully though the green paint over the f on the cover makes me think that might not be the case

Please tell me that isn't a real cover for an Attitude Era dvd.

Watching the video, and it synced up perfectly with the .gif loop.

Also, that cover has the same late-90s production quality of Attitude-era programming.
