Attendance can also lie. Some people go to shows just because they are live. PPV is a similar thing, since it is a “digital ticket.” It does imply people are paying for the product, but it can also depend on frequency, competition and the focus you put on them. It’s a combination of things, and the growth over time that will probably best tell you how “hot” you actually are.

I say that mostly facetiously for the folks who think Dynamite is in any way approaching Raw in any fairly comparable sense. And while I agree with you that a 3-hour Raw is a problem they realistically have to deal with, each hour is actually registered as its own thing. Combining them and averaging them out is a dirt sheet thing designed to make them look way more unimpressive. It’s as fair to take those first two prime time hours, and I’ve even jokingly compared the Rampage rating to the third hour rating. Because why not?

Why would WWE move a show against a competitor marketing to the same audience and have to fight for viewers when Tuesdays was right there the whole time and they moved there anyways? TV deals don’t happen overnight. WWE has a lot of sway with USA, sure, but they’ve got to have a programming schedule too. It’s AEW-centric myth that this was all about them. If Rhodes to the Top was still on, people would claim that WWE was doing the Graves & Carmella show to spite AEW.

I used to do this, but I also have an impulsive nature. I won’t be able to ignore certain spouts of stupidity. So I do it to edify myself too. Plus, it is fun to see how they get all weird about it when you block them. We finished watching the second season of that Ruthless Aggression show. Really enjoyed it. Finlay sneaking actual moves into women's matches was great.

i think they have definitely plateaued. i think one thing they need to focus on more is appealing to people who come in clueless. so much of their stuff is predicated on knowledge of people/things from outside of their company or is YouTube only content. that is MAYBE a quarter of their TV audience, and it's just not smart. my sister legit started watching wrestling for the first time when AEW started, and i constantly have to field questions for her that TV should be answering. she can't be alone in that, and not everyone has the resources and/or patience to fill themselves in. and they shouldn't have to.

We only watch dynamite and rampage every week and still feel like we're not "in" on everything because we don't know who some of these surprise debuts are (Jay White being the big one in mind rn).

We can barely keep up with those two (+ whatever WWE we catch) so there's no way we're going to stay up on dark, elevation, & bte. Feel like the main shows should be filling in a lot more gaps.

(I get that the company wants us to watch all of their shows, as they should. But there's no way they can expect everyone to be able to do that + know about these people coming from new Japan or wherever)
