Rude in next year or riot

Lock Jaw 03-29-2015 12:02 AM

X-Pac gonna headline next year

Nicky Fives 03-29-2015 12:03 AM

Rude, Owen, Bulldog, Bigelow, Boss Man (among others) all names that could go in, but all have that one thing in common....

Dark One 03-29-2015 12:04 AM

I can't believe that in a Hall of Fame class with Macho Man in it that the fucking Bushwhackers were the highlight of the night.

Jordan 03-29-2015 12:04 AM

That was so long. Best speech I'd say Daniel Bryan and Dana Warrior. Lamest was Nash.

Evil Vito 03-29-2015 12:05 AM

I'm inclined to think X-Pac never takes that bandana off. Probably even showers with it on.

Emperor Smeat 03-29-2015 12:07 AM

Outside of Larry Z's speech being the "Mr T" of the year, the show was really good tonight.

Them getting as many Legends as possible to do that dance was the best. Even Bret Hart was like "eff it" and did it after a bit.

Weird when Shawn said he wasn't supposed to mention Vince McMahon.....

"Weird" that would be a "rule".... you'd think a lot of people would want to "thank him"....

slik 03-29-2015 12:11 AM

Kevin Nash is like The Big Lebowski of wrestling.

James Steele 03-29-2015 12:14 AM

Vince probably wants to avoid it seeming like everyone is kissing his ass.

I've seen that rumored the last several HOF ceremonies. Vince doesn't want anyone thanking him as he thinks it would sound disingenuous.

Supposedly he's also said he won't accept ever going into the HOF himself. If he goes in it'll be after he dies.

Always feel like it is "still real to me, dammit!" while watching the HOF.

Dark One 03-29-2015 02:44 AM

They don't even know how to spell his name any more. Tremendous.

Lex Luger could have been the biggest thing the industry has ever seen. Damn shame he did enough drugs to kill a killer whale.

FourFifty 03-29-2015 03:37 AM

Zach Ryder will get into the HOF before Zack Ryder gets a notable push.

Did you guys check out the Official HOF thread? 'cause this is a wrestling forum. How about that :)

Larry's speech was perfectly fine. Jericho was mad that he couldn't use the Name Living Legend because he didn't ask either Bruno or Larry for permission before using it. Jericho was in the wrong.

ron the dial 03-29-2015 05:02 AM

there was an old, smart guy named sigmund freud, and sigmund came up with the idea that dreams become the reality of your wishes.

SlickyTrickyDamon 03-29-2015 05:06 AM

Rikishi set off the right with a great passionate speech and I have to say this is probably the best Hall of Fame Ceremony in a long time (possibly ever.)

I'd say the Dana Warrior/Daniel Bryan/Father was the highlight of the show. Followed by Lanny Poffo's poems and acceptance speech for the Macho Man.

I loved Madusa's speech and how defiant she was about what she did and the legacy. Wished she had talked "give divas a chance", but it was really awesome.

Larry's was good even though he got a little bit off track. Loved his message about his dream and to make sure everybody follows theirs.

Bushwackers was really good as well. Really loved that they didn't buy into the WWE video packages that disregarded so much of their career. The Flag Bearer did a great job introducing him.

Nash wasn't that great because of time restraints still good for what it was and the time they were given to wrap up the show.

Tatsumi should have also been allowed to say something in Japanese too. Flair really should have spoken a big longer since he knew Tats wouldn't be able to say much clearly in English.

Fignuts 03-29-2015 05:26 AM

Bushwackers had me in tears.

So good.

Around this time of the year I get to thinking about future HOF inductees, and I wanted to look and see who on the current roster might get in.

Based on who WWE has listed in the "Current" section of their roster on WWE.com, I could see all of the following going in at some point:

Big Show
Brock Lesnar
Chris Jericho
Christian
Goldust
JBL
John Cena
Kane
Mark Henry
Mr. McMahon
Paul Heyman
Randy Orton
The Rock
Stephanie McMahon
Sting
Triple H
The Undertaker
William Regal
Zeb Colter

Many of them would appear to be locks already based on resumes alone so barring them pissing off the office they have a great chance at being inducted. If they want to continue to induct a woman every year they're bound to run low on candidates eventually, and Steph is definitely deserving assuming they don't mind putting in more McMahon family members. Vince has said he will never agree to go into the HOF himself but I couldn't help but put him on the list anyway...probably would be a posthumous induction, but I mean...it's fucking Vince.

A bunch of them spent a lot of time in the main event. I seem to remember a debate on here a few months back about the merits of Christian as a HOFer. Personally I believe they'll put him in as a midcard induction one year, ditto for Henry and Goldust in different classes. Lots of longevity there. Regal too, actually. He was always excellent, respected by everybody, and has been an asset both in and out of the ring.

Zeb, I imagine, would go in a few years after his character ends on TV and they'd just put him in as Dutch Mantell. With WWE not being afraid to bring up history outside of their own company he really contributed in a lot of different ways around the wrestling world.

Brock I guess would be slightly controversial given that he only was on the roster full-time for 2 years, but when all is said and done he'll have main evented multiple Manias, broke the Streak, had lengthy title runs, been a draw for a different audience, etc.

I actually think you are setting the bar quite high. I think other almost certainties would be The Miz (headlined Mania, WWE Champ, IC Champ), Sheamus (WWE Champ, office fav) and people like Ziggler and Swagger have already accomplished more than the likes of Rikishi, so a decent future on the roster should secure their places some day too.

Can't imagine anyone begrudging Brock with all he has done and the media attention he has garnered. He is a lock for me.

Would love to see the Dudley's back for a final run, now they are unattached, it would be a shot in the arm to the tag division and could induct them alongr with a last TLC match at Mania next year.

Are you talking about Larry Csonka's Pro Football Hall of Fame speech? That's the only way I can imagine that sentence making sense as you typed it.
