Eh, she doesn't really look like Trish. Except for the hair and boobs, which you could say about probably 2/3 of the roster.

Fooled Trish as she thought it was a rendering of her for a video game or something she was scanned for recently.

The one time I saw Maria in person she was so orange that I was literally "taken aback" by it and couldn't notice anything else.

Spray tanning tends to make people look orange.

It's not just the writing and booking (though that is the biggest problem). I'd also cut a lot of the dead weight in terms of the talent who are okay just being in WWE and don't care what they do as long as they get paid and are put on the show in some capacity. A lot of wasted talent and potential on the roster because some talent simply don't care and/or don't have the balls to pull an Austin, Punk, HBK, Heyman, Kurt, Jericho, Rock, Taker, and tell the folks in charge what's up.

It really is. It's also so obvious and fake looking, I don't really get why people do it. I know WWE talent don't have a ton of free time, but I'd rather be pale or just get some actual sun that look like that.

I dont disagree, but that isnt Bliss's fault. She still the most viable option they have. What would you have them do? Disband until a better option comes along?

BigCrippyZ 09-11-2017 03:26 PM

I'm not saying it's her fault, or that they should just quit. I'm just saying that average or slightly above average talent and writing is now accepted as great because it gets over with a slight majority of fans. She's far from the worst talent sure, and yes, she's got a pretty face and a pretty decent ass for her body type. She's over with a slight majority of people. None of that makes her great or actually over in the grand scheme of things though. It just makes the whole scenario mediocre and people accept this mediocrity as greatness, which is the problem.

Great is relative anyway. I mean I've seen her enough to know there's holes in her game, but there's something VERY enjoyable about her. Why not bestow praise upon her for being pretty good at what she does?

The fact that the talent pool is shallow makes her being "decent" stand out more. Sure, it makes her seem better than she is, but the fact that everyone is generic, and she stands out makes it more likely to heap the love onto her. Hell, Edge and Christian were putting her over huge... pretty sure I heard Austin saying he was impressed with her work.

There's work to be done with her, but a lot of people feel there's much to be excited about. She's a relative newcomer, after all... think she only started in 2013.

Fignuts 09-11-2017 06:17 PM

I like her because she has worked very hard to improve, and genuinely cares about her performance. Go back and watch one of her earlier nxt matches and the difference is night and day. She puts on a better performance every time I see her, and I think she is eventually going to become a truly great worker. Reminds me of Trish in that regard.

Fignuts 09-11-2017 06:21 PM

Also believe some people here are downplaying how good her promo and character work are. Not just the promos themselves, but the delivery, her timing, and her facial expressions are all on point. Yes it's a familiar character archtype, but I feel she executes it extremely well.

Ol Dirty Dastard 09-11-2017 06:32 PM

I think the one thing that's tough with the girls these days compared to Trish and Lita (honestly those two are in a league of their own) is that they could hang with the guys.

No, that doesn't mean they were anywhere near as good technicians, but they seem like they belonged in the shark tank. They had no problems taking a fucking beating and paying their dues, and in those moments when they dished it out, it was believable.

There was a magic those 2 had with their personalities, which while the girls today are better athletes and "wrestlers", they aren't better talents.

Alexa to me at least, isn't completely wooden like the rest of them

Destor 09-11-2017 06:33 PM

Shes def a good promo, best the women have seen in a considerable ammount of time.

I would personally prefer the awesome stuff come from WWE since they have the money, star power, history and notoriety to make everything feel as big as possible. Yeah, NXT is cool, ROH is decent, New Japan is great, etc. But NXT and ROH don't bring the same aura that the WWE main roster could if it was producing compelling television because that's not where the stars or production is.

I like watching New Japan occasionally but the cultural/language barrier hampers it.

WWE is the only company currently capable of hitting all the check marks so the fact that they've been so complacent and haven't really tried for the past decade and a half is maddening.

Fignuts 09-11-2017 08:07 PM

That's fine. I totally get not being happy with WWE. It's people etting upset and going on rants over stuff they don't even watch that's befuddling to me.

As I've mentioned 300 times, I don't watch women's wrestling, but I sometimes saw more Lita than Hardys signs, for what it's worth. Oh and when she would make some top rope move the cheers were massive.

Most of the stuff I respond to I have watched. I think you've got "I haven't watched regularly" with "I haven't watched a single segment in 2 years." And sometimes I am responding to the points raised themselves, which may not be your thing, but is a perfectly valid form of internet conversation.
"Purple is the best color."
"Do you have evidence to back that up?"
I don't need to have even seen purple to ask that question. That's hypothetical, but I don't have any specific circumstances that you're referring to to respond to.

I can also very freely comment on how uninterested I am in the current product. I've been a wrestling fan for years -- it's hard to just "switch off" to something you used to love. It was a part of my routine for years. Sure, I could just turn myself off completely to the WWE instead of vaguely following it (and it is getting dangerously close to this point), but the fact that something I should be the ripe market for is so emotionally disengaging is a point all on its own.

There's a difference between saying "This sucks and I haven't watched it" and "It sucks that this hasn't made me want to watch it." It may be befuddling to you, but if we're trying to be so sympathetic to the "opinions" of others, mine doesn't really need to make sense to you anyway, right?

Mr. Nerfect 09-11-2017 09:19 PM

Lita worked in the sense that she worked. You can't deny that she was over and that's a measure of some level of charisma, whether you think it fickle or not. There were plenty of women who could have gone into a thong and done botchy stuff off the top, but Lita was the one who did it.

For some reason I can't find a clip of this...

Back in the late 80's/early 90's WWE did a dating game parody and Bret Hart was one of the bachelors. The lady asks him what kind of wrestling moves he'd use on her and Bret, with all the charm of a serial killer is like "Well, first I'd put you in a sleeperhold. Then I'd pick you up in a fireman's carry... Then I'd take you upstairs and ravage your body." It was awesomely creepy. lol

Matt Hardy went insane and made his hair frizzy with a grey streak in it. He started talking weird because he can't cut proper promos. They then filmed their own angles on their own property. They did this video where Reby threw a fake baby at Jeff (supposed to be Matt's real baby) while they were in Matt's personal wrestling ring, and Matt then gave Jeff a side effect off the apron through a coffee table that they did in slow motion.

Matt then turned up the weirdness, and basically acted like he was the star of some camp melodrama. They involved drones, Matt Hardy's gardener (the gardener's Twitter was easily the best bit), and did backyard garbage matches that were poorly filmed (but that was the point, of course), with special effects. Matt ate ectoplasm at some point. He also developed some new catchphrases by saying things in a funny voice and reworking them time and time again.

I'm not a fan of this stuff, but I think he just says it. He thinks he deletes people because he's some supernatural being?

Well, it DOES take a lot to make Jeff Hardy look like the sane one.

Mr. Nerfect 09-12-2017 12:33 AM

I dunno, man, you make up your own mind. I think it's shit.

What was that all about? What was so BROKEN? I never really cared, but it's 5am and I got shit to do.

Just Matt getting beaten up badly during a match and when he returned, he suddenly started to act a lot more stranger as if he was "broken."

Jeff got "broken" via a feud he had with Broken Matt leading to Jeff being "deleted" as a Hardy and becoming "Brother Nero." Just like Matt, he also started to act more stranger than usual.

At some point in the story, Matt suffered both from amnesia and got struck by lighting as a way to return him back to normal Matt Hardy.

Last big storyline for the Broken gimmick in Impact involved the Hardys preventing the end of the world by keeping the tag belts. Somehow they also gained teleportation powers when it came to them appearing in other promotions while still with Impact.

How were the TNA ratings back then? Just curious, cause I can't imagine people enjoying this shitstorm.

Destor 09-12-2017 12:40 AM

People liked it ironically

Sixx 09-12-2017 12:40 AM

Motherfucking hipsters.

Lock Jaw 09-12-2017 12:41 AM

The DELETE thing was because originally when Matt Hardy went BROKEN he was feuding with Jeff Hardy, who he called Brother Nero. Matt was saying that Jeff was shaming the Hardy name by being OBSOLETE or something and that Matt should be the sole legacy of the Hardy name, and that Brother Nero must be DELETED.

Brother Nero was then DELETED and Matt continued to use DELETE as a threat against other foes. Then Jeff Hardy somehow became BROKEN too and they were a team again.

Lock Jaw 09-12-2017 12:42 AM

A lot of posts appeared while I was writing that.....

Destor 09-12-2017 12:51 AM

Why are we not having a longer dialogue about bret harts rape scenerio

Was actually pretty good compared to their usual numbers. They had 3 big episodes based on the Broken and Deletion stuff with the first generating their highest numbers for the year and the most outside interest for the company.

Emperor Smeat 09-12-2017 12:55 AM

Also was a legit top act for Impact considering they've only had 3-4 weeks with better numbers than the final big Broken/Deletion episode since the Hardy's left.

Think it would be managable to fuck her in the ass while holding her in a Sharpshooter?

She should just be a groupie.

You could replace "Lita" with most women wrestlers from but a few years before and nothing would be different.

Sixx 09-12-2017 02:21 AM

Maaan, now I want to be a wrestler when I grow up.

Sixx 09-12-2017 02:41 AM

I bet Bret Hart is the kinda guy that wears his shades while having sex.

Tom Guycott 09-12-2017 03:03 AM

So, Bret Hart takes after Corey Hart?

Sixx 09-12-2017 03:11 AM

Runs in the family.

Mr. Nerfect 09-12-2017 04:28 AM

Saying the ratings were better for TNA is being generous. There was some mild increase, but it's not like they created 500,000 or anything. Basically anyone who watched TNA was joined by a few people who didn't usually watch, but was going to check out the geek show.

What long-term benefit or growth did it offer TNA? None. Absolutely none. It left them in no better and no worse shape than before it had happened -- which was not great.

And yes, the kangaroo stuff would have surely upset some people if they had actually seen it.

Saw this on reddit and it's so weird, it's like Hogan parodying Hogan.

SPOILER: show
Lost it at the random guy riding his bike into a wall
