1883 is one of the best Westerns I have ever seen, and I love me a Western.
At first the airy ethereal narration seems a hinderance until you realise that without it the show would be far too grim and gritty.
The daughter is incredibly beautiful, reminds me of Jennifer Lawrence.

El Vaquero de Infierno 02-26-2022 05:27 PM

I watched the first episode of 1883, and I want more.

Seanny One Ball 02-26-2022 05:34 PM

Mate it gets even better if you can actually believe it.
I mean the first episode is stuffed with goodies but the season itself is basically an excuse for Sam Elliot to do fucking incredible monologues every other episode.

4/4

El Vaquero de Infierno 02-27-2022 11:00 AM

Watched episodes 2 and 3 of 1883.

Goddamn, this is some top drawer television. I'm loving all of it.

Wait til you get to the speech about chopping down trees with gunfire

Just watched episode where his partner was Kumail Nanjiani and gotta say that Kumail was super terrible at it.... like "refused" to go along with the improv a lot of the time, and continually just broke and cracked up...... episode before had "Marshawn Lynch" who is apparently some sort of football player I guess, and he was better at it than the professional actor....

Will Arnett still makes it enjoyable though....

Wasn't terrible. A quick watch and somewhat forgettable.

Triple A 02-28-2022 08:33 PM

Righteous Gemstones season 2 so funny... great show, highly recommended,

Ol Dirty Dastard 02-28-2022 08:35 PM

Just started Raised By Wolves season 2. Really captivating show. Hate the theme song with a passion, though.

GD 03-01-2022 02:10 AM

Started watching Peacemaker. John Cena is such a strange fella.

Seanny One Ball 03-01-2022 05:03 PM

1883 wrapped up and it’s just fucking beautiful.

Seanny One Ball 03-01-2022 05:04 PM

Tim McGraw is so cool.

I’m going to listen to some of his music and hope it also rules.

ron the dial 03-01-2022 05:07 PM

i was a huge fan of "don't take the girl" in 1994. i can't speak to much more than that.

Watching the final episode tomorrow, and then I don't know what I'm going to do with myself.

Seanny One Ball 03-01-2022 05:50 PM

Cry probably.

It’s a heavy one. I mean it.

Seanny One Ball 03-01-2022 05:51 PM

I’ll have to watch Yellowstone now but that was absolutely, far and away the most enjoyable Western tv series I have ever seen.
Brilliant.

OssMan 03-01-2022 10:16 PM

Righteous gemstones is funny but nothing will top vice principals...

Triple A 03-01-2022 10:57 PM

Might rewatch that, remember it being so funny...

Police Interceptors on 5 Action

El Vaquero de Infierno 03-02-2022 02:01 PM

1883

The show is so goddamn bleak, but it is bloody beautiful at the same time (and not just because Isabel May is ridiculously pretty).

The show is top-drawer. I've read that more episodes are going to be made, but I hope they don't. They should let that series stand as it is: as a testament of how good television can be.

Seanny One Ball 03-02-2022 09:17 PM

Absolutely.

They should leave that as a one-off. It deserves to stay perfect forever.

Triple A 03-03-2022 12:36 AM

never heard of it, might check it out... seems highly regarded

It's good on the whole, but in a weird way. The overall story starts going wayyyy off the rails - especially in the final season - but individually, the characters are great. Like, every single primary character could hold up their own spin-off series centered entirely around them (especially Job or Kurt), but Banshee itself doesn't focus enough on any of them collectively to just tell the story it is supposed to be telling.

How good can music by a former professional baseball pitcher be?

GD 03-03-2022 10:22 AM

Peacemaker has been very enjoyable so far and it's done a great job of accentuating Cena's goofy sense of humor.

Seanny One Ball 03-03-2022 10:36 AM

Banshee was incredible.
A truly excellent action serial.

GD 03-03-2022 04:56 PM

Done with Peacemaker.

Will need something new to fill the void

Ol Dirty Dastard 03-03-2022 05:49 PM

Watching Wu-Tang: An American Saga. Mostly as a background show. Good fun.

Lock Jaw 03-03-2022 10:57 PM

Watched the finale of Batwoman S3.... I've come to actually like the show a lot after they replaced the main character.....

Lock Jaw 03-03-2022 11:53 PM

Watched the finale of Legends of Tomorrow S7.... still a good show, not as good as it used to be, and getting worse every season as they lose characters....

SPOILER: show
Damn at losing Nate in the finale.... When Booster Gold showed up I was happy cause I thought they were adding another male character back to the show, and that him and Nate could have a good dynamic in the next season if gets renewed.... Still interested in seeing more of Booster in a potential next season I guess, but not happy at averaging losing a beloved cast member every new season....

We'll see if it gets renewed.... I always think it is a small miracle that it has made it as far as it has....

GD 03-04-2022 05:31 AM

Considering watching that Jason Bateman Netflix show…looks promising

drave 03-04-2022 08:21 AM

Ozark?

Fuckin do it.

weather vane 03-04-2022 02:29 PM

New South Park episode was tremendous.

If you haven't already, watch 1883.

Seanny One Ball 03-04-2022 06:34 PM

Did you seriously just tell Dave to watch the bleakest, saddest Western the market has offered in decades?

You’ll send him on a fucking bender.

Seanny One Ball 03-04-2022 06:36 PM

It is great TV but it is deliberately beautiful and then horrific in such brilliant quantities that you have to admire it.
It’s written with love and real understanding of how episodic writing should be done.

That daughter was so purrty…

drave 03-05-2022 10:56 AM

spoilers, SOB

Seanny One Ball 03-05-2022 11:11 AM

I’ll spoil your fucking face in a minute.

GD 03-05-2022 11:13 AM

...and eat McDonalds while doing so.

Seanny One Ball 03-05-2022 11:13 AM

Schitt’s Creek grabbed me forever when Moira Rose did the fruit wine commercial.
That is genuinely brilliant comedy. Catherine O’Hara is an improv God though so what did I expect. Her and Eugene Levy together in Christopher Guest films always feels like cheating. It’s a guaranteed laugh every single time.

I’m fucking angry at myself, Supreme.

What was I afraid of?

You don’t always have to give the world proof that you are bad at everything, Dave.
